@The Baws, Engi might not make appearances in the Record Runs, but that’s because those records are set by stacking Ele’s to chain Ice Bows. Engi is very strong in your day to day runs, it just loses it’s niche when things die as fast as they do in those record runs.
@VitalSuit, Staff is the Ele’s highest damage. Scepter+LH is a good 1k DPS behind it last I saw. Properly executed Engi rotation is right up there if I understand correctly, but it’s a bit easier said than done
How come it is, this is the only terrestrial legendary that has no footfall effects?
Minstrel doesn’t have footfall effects either, not sure what you mean by terrestrial though so maybe you’re not counting that?
To add, I was talking to a friend who’s at this point quit GW2, he was redownloading it today just so he could send 5k gold away to various people.
We were discussing Everquest, I played the original, him EQ2.
We were discussing the oldschool MMO and the different aspects as we was redownloeding EQ2 as he just had the craving for it. I can’t say I really share his longing for that oldschool play style, but, in the middle of our discussion he exclaimed “wait, WHAT they added another expansion” as a huge EQ fan I was like “yeah, every octoberish…” He started reading off all the additions, multiple zones, multiple group dungeons, multiple raids… a huge chunk of content.
Now, that’s $40 and a sub fee, I get that. But the point is it’s there, this is a like 10 year old game (and the 15+ year old game of original EQ received similar additions).
I personally have a budget that would allow me to spend MUCH more on this game if I felt it was worthwhile, but honestly I don’t see much of a future for me in this game. I run Arah almost every day, and that’s pretty much what I find fun at this point. There’s not much else that keeps me going. Some WvW thrown in, Some LS to mix things up, a bit of leveling new alts just to kill time, but what I find fun is Arah.
Now… well… I don’t forsee another Arah type thing coming…. ever, it just doesn’t seem to be on the docket for GW2. Which is incredibly disappointing. I love the game that has been created, the combat system is excellent, the entire game is fun, but the content is becoming very stale, and this is someone who is only like 8 months into the game… not the 2 years that many others have been here.
I don’t’ know what my point is really here, but I just felt that the discussion I had with my friend today would give a little perspective to Gaile, this is not an uncommon discussion I have. Now not many are giving away 5k gold, but I’m seeing long time players leave quite regularly, and it’s sad. And, while I’m mainly active in the Dungeon community, I see it in the WvW community as well, recently we’ve seen a few notable guilds have their last raids, it’s a sad thing really. I don’t PvP, just not a fan in this game, but I see similar discussions in the profession balance area regarding that type of game play. Things are crumbling and it’s really a concern.
I hope you can understand where we as players are coming from Gaile, It just feels like many aspects of the original game are being left behind and not supported. We’re in this futile hopeless spiral as people continue to disappear.
Alerno — Taking what you have (and everyone else has) put on the table I do wonder something. I want to ask, and hope nobody will bite my head off here.
You mention wanting to know there will be more to the game. The new and continuing episodes of the Living World count towards that, right? The fact that players know there’s a team working on new content and features, and that there are releases on a regular basis? I fully understand that may not fulfill every desire, but it does show a continuing commitment to “new stuff” for us players, wouldn’t you agree?
Honestly… NO
That doesn’t cut it.
Living story to many of us is a side thing, a little fluff to spice things up. That’s not what we play day in, day out. What we do play is Dungeons (and fractals), WvW, and PVP. Those are the core of the game, yet they’ve been largely ignored.
I’d ask you to consider, what do you feel is the core of the game? I can’t help but feel many of us players feel it’s those 3 aspects, but if the developers feel the Open World stuff LS is giving us is what the core of the game is… well I guess that answers the thread and there goes my hope for additions of content I’d find interesting enough to keep me around.

Stealth… about the only thing Engi’s beat Ele’s at outright. Sustained vulnerability would be the other thing, but that’s not always needed.
I’d argue Engi si more fun though, at least personally speaking
Problem is this is a no-win scenario. Continue mostly silent treatment, loses some players. Announce focus and goals, lose players who do not agree with the direction. So keeping people waiting probably keeps the losses more controlled.
That’s the thing, it’s not a no-win scenario as the people who have become completely disenfranchised by the silence aren’t spending money… if they’re told “yeah you’re right you’re not getting anything” there’s no loss as they weren’t spending money anyways. At best they’d be getting rid of the malcontented community that the silence has created. Eliminating that toxic community can only help, they’re not spending money, just reassuring newer players that the game isn’t moving forward in these areas.
New PVP maps and game styles… not happening.
New WvW maps or any adjustments to make that game style more popular… not happening
New Dungeons… LOL, are you kidding?
If ANet cares to disagree with any of those statements, please do, but as of now, we’re not seeing that anytime soon. So again, why have hope? Why be positive? Why not create a toxic community where your fellow players of PVP, WvW, and Dungeons can console each other in the fact that they’re all unhappy with the current situation?
I still have fun playing things, but I’m running out, i finally got my Lupi solo today… and well, I’m kinda out of things I want to work towards. Doesn’t mean I don’t have friends in the game or on the forums, but honestly I’m late to the game and already I was jumping into a community that is lacking hope and positivity, now I’ll simply fully join the side that’s saying “yup… they don’t give a kitten”.
So what does ANet gain from commenting on this stuff? Well it sheds the toxic element and Maybe, Just maybe, they might instill some hope for the future in some players who actually like the direction they intend to go.

1 of everything, but 2 engi’s one of the last professions I leveled, tried to have a variety of races/sexes, and well ended up with char male engi… hated it, so went with a second Asura engi, love it.
Going for a second Guardian next, original was Asura, next will be Human I think. All I have left is Male human and Female charr… not sure what I want to make for the charr… god they’re terrible to play.
Ehh I find him fun and wish he was more consistently spawning. Very easy kill if you bring some stability.
Yeah, I do. I was one of those that was telling everyone that ANet would listen.
I’ve learned my lesson.
Ehh, it’s always worth the try, giving up all hope is no fun, but expecting anything will only lead to further disappointment. I mean what else are you going to do? read pointless thread about how zerker meta is killing the game? Better to post some suggestions on how to improve things.
I’m actually a big fan of at least one of his videos
“They have a built in, in game, chat for you to use… I know!… Who put that there?!”
I want to know if you are happy about the way the game is now, or if you want it to be more diverse, I don’t have nothing against zerk, I just want to feel useful while using other stats
If by diversity you meant more interesting stat options, sure. But that’s not what we have with gear choices in this game. We have Damage———Survival with a full range of things in between. You can pick your ratio.
If we were talking a stat that made your control effects more potent, or made your utilities last longer/refresh sooner. Then sure, that could be interesting… but again that’s not what our gear does. That’s what our Traits and what not do.
Base gear again is our damage and survival scaling.
Then we have Runes/Sigils which are much of that but also some of the more interesting effects.
Then we have traits, this is where the bulk of the interesting and fun choices come, and I think they do a pretty good job giving us options.
People need to look at their Traits, Sigils and Runes for their diversity. You can do a lot of the support things better with off meta trait selections alone. I mean take an average group through a dungeon running meta with a 45005 gs+sw/f build, then just change the guard to run Hammer 33044 build, you’ll do less damage on that guard, but the amount of support you offer, my god. It’s incredibly noticeable how much easier things will go. Then just for fun, change that guard to 46202 gs+sw/f build and do it a third time. See how much you struggle. (choose a dungeon where condi cleanse is needed, not like COE wher 46202 is incredibly easy to run
).
Your versatility and support are there, it’s just mostly in traits. What’s wrong with that?
WoodenPotatoes made two videos about these issues. While I do not fully agree with him on all points considered, I feel he got the gist of it and summarized it appropriately.
This isn’t a trinity MMORPG, it’s an Action game, I don’t understand why he’s surprised. With their stated goals and how the game was developed they basically stated from the start that this was the design of the game.
It’s not as if there aren’t supportive tools, just increasing your personal defense and utilizing the intentionally underpowerd Healing Power stat aren’t going to help you with that (for the most part, tanky gear has niche benefits at times)
If you like support try playing a Hammer guard, it’s quite nice honestly. With that you can toss a few traits/sigils/whatever to make it even easier. While I play pretty close to the meta now, I still veer away at times when I see some alternative being helpful for me or my group. I use to play with a group every day in dungeons and we developed what we called the “braindead meta” which utilized a lot of these supportive alternatives to make it so we basically couldn’t fail and just breezed through dungeons only losing like 25% of our damage to do so… it was pretty nice… still full zerk/assassin though
Such example is lupicus. When he is pulled to a wall he is not using some of his abilities(charge and green bubble). When you fight him not near a wall he is using all his abilities.
2 benefits to walling Lupi:
Phase1: You’ll have some of the Locust spawn behind the wall, this means less you have to deal with
Phase3: He won’t do his Frenzied Blast attack(… or will he?
it’s unreliable)
So you’re right in that there are benefits. But, you’re wrong on what they are.
That’s one of the frustrations on this topic. There are a lot of people talking, but many aren’t coming from a point of full understanding, myself included honestly. There are many who make walling out to be some miracle that instantly makes things die… no it’s just a tool.
As far as bosses not doing things because of walls, Lupi does those two things (not commonly used in groups though as usually groups that push him to a wall use that reflect gimmick in p2 anyways…) The Nightmare Warden in TA is the only other one I know of, if pulled to the flower stack spot he won’t do his big slam. CMp2 boss can be bugged out on the rock (unless fixed? been a while). Those 3 are the only ones I know that will act any differently based on where you fight them. Both Warden and the CM boss are considered Exploits by GWSC as far as I know. As far as I know the Lupi thing no one sees as exploitative but it’s also silly to do in most groups as utilizing that Frenzied blast for more reflect damage is always nice so outside of solos it’s kinda silly to use.

I like this idea! Especially since we can’t easily search these forums without google + “site:http://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/”.
You don’t even need to go that far, just search Google without adding the forum extension, it will still find it…so maybe they should just add a Google search function to the forum.
For those that keep asking, here’s the forum post about the Precurser Crafting…found it doing a plain old Google search:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/crafting/gw2-precursor-recipe-scavanger-hunt-news/3780700Also, as much as it would be nice to get an idea of what they might be working on, that goes against the stated policy of A.net, which is to not talk about anything until it’s ready for “prime time”. I know a lot of you don’t like that stance, but until it’s changed not much is going to be said. Personally, and I’m only speaking for myself here, I could really care less what features are being worked on or are potentially on the way. I look at it this way, it’s a business, a very competitive business and anything that you’re possibly working on that could be revolutionary, you don’t just want to announce so that all your competitors know about it now too, but that’s just me speaking from a business mindset.
Wow, thank you!
And sorry dlonie but kinda feel that this issue is pretty relevant. Fact is I had NEVER seen that, never seen it even mentioned and of course not quoted.
I had more to say but my way with words is simply not on point at 3am
but, there is this area of the forums, News and Announcements… seems like a good place for this type of information, but it seems largely unused. It would have been nice to check in there and see a post, “State of Precursors”, or one saying “Engi backpacks, we understand”, stuff like that. Just letting us know that these old issues are still being discussed just not necessarily handled yet.
… they took the dungeon issue as a wvw one? ohh god, I mean I realize the first round through is clueless individuals simply trying to sort the issues, but like… wow.
The viola is an awesome instrument, often rather forgotten because it’s overshadowed by the fact that so many orchestras have a gazillion violins.
I hope it happens!
Ehh, I’m a fan of the Violin, it has a higher pitch to me it sends chills down my spine and I can’t get enough… There’s a reason I have a playlist of 8 hours of stringed instruments. Viola is great, but Violin is my favorite
Violin-Viola-Cello-Double Bass full range, and all amazing.
I see this, precursor crafting/scavenger hunt, brought up almost always when listing communication woes.
ArenaNet did keep us in the loop, announcing when it was being pushed back, and then when the current iteration was scrapped, and had to be started from scratch. The announcements have been quoted countless times in threads, and yet….it always seems to come up as something the Devs totally ignored and kept silent about.
Good thing it wasn’t something else, or it would be used as an example of how ArenaNet ‘over-hypes’ everything!
A real case of darned if you do, and darned if you don’t. /sigh
This is the first time I’ve seen mention of them saying that there were setbacks. Do you have quotes?
Either you obsolete zerker simply creating a new meta at whatever the new max viable dps setup is, or you create a system where people can support eachother to allow some to be “DPS” while others “heal” and others “tank”…
When they stated the goal to allow all sets to work, and a system without a trinity they basically said “everyone will run max DPS gear once they perfect strategies”.
As Lagerfueled said, the beauty of guardian is going into a fight, timing your abilities and coming out without a scratch. The only thing that has the true versatility in gameplay compared to Ele is Engi. But, you can still do quite a bit with guardian but it’s always has a defensive foothold.
The key to guardian is knowing what’s coming, and with that knowledge you often have something to answer it with. Can you blind? Aegis? Projectile defense? Block? You can even do that for your whole group in some cases! Is a CC attack coming? Stability! Ohh we took a little damage or got a condition… well we have tools to fix that
Try going with Master of Consecrations instaed of the more retal. Then drop Pure of Voice and slot that point into radiance 3 to get your VoJ spam going, that’s a huge huge amazing trait setup the 3 in radiance.
From there I’d look at the 45005 build honestly as it’s a good baseline for a more offensive setup while still having the necessary support tools. Also go to something other than signet mastery… Shelter… learn to use it for the block as well as the heal and you’re doubling up getting quite an amazing skill out of it. Blind exposure there is the generic choice and a very good one with all the blinds you can be throwing out there, though don’t waste them for vuln.
Indomitable courage also isn’t usually necessary, often stand your ground if well timed is more than enough to cover yourself and your group, and when you do need that courage traited up you can usually drop absolute resoluation for the time and then swap back after that stint is over in whatever you’re doing. The one exception is WvW zerging… stability is your life
Check out Obal’s PVE guide and other guides, guardian has it’s niche of fun, but you might need to find it. GL
Hey lads, don’t be too rude!
Only a few weeks ago I made a similar topic “Entertaining Guardian”.
It wasn’t easy to get the feeling of the profession. It’s a bit slow-paced and not a keyboard-smasher type to play. But the timing makes the Guardian a fun profession to play!
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/guardian/Entertaining-Guardian/first#post4495944
So s/he is not the first one who needs some advice to find the fun side of this gamestyle…
:) glad you were able to find the fun in guardian
Well I typed something out, didn’t really come out right so I was about to start over… but dlonie hit it right on the head, so I’ll just say “Seconded!”
BLAME CANADA!!!
:D couldn’t resist.
Ok, but really, this has been discussed and shot down dozens of times. What are your cut-off times? Should people be able to score while I’m at work? For NA I’m Pacific time, that’s 3 hours different than Eastern, if it’s say 5-midnight is full points time, well what time zone? if it’s based on Eastern then I’m getting 2-9, and with my work that means 5-9… yeah that’s fair…
Devils in the details.
I should have saved that video, but everytime the communication issue is brought up I just remember the video someone cut together of them repeatedly saying “We can’t talk about that”… that video sums up ANet so well.
Yes…
In the same manner that my thousands of forges and thousands of hours played feel without ever getting a precursor, so does the Halloween raffle feel having handed in up to 1k tickets and winning nothing (while others who hand in 2 to 3 tickets win).
I understand why it can happen, but that doesn’t make the experience feel any better. It just leaves you with a very bitter taste. You can talk about this all you want, but I consider that it is – bluntly put – your job as game designers to prevent this from happening to me and many, many others like me, over and over and over again.
For the most part, I agree with you.
Just quoting this to say that your understanding of the subject is really nice to see.
I have a deep passionate hatred for the RNG.
I’d vote for 2.5, anything that gives me an out from the RNG’s thumb.
How many people here are professional gamblers? Personally I chose to get a job, earn my paycheck for the time I put in. It may not be flashy, but it’s consistent and i get what I earn. That’s all I want here. I hate when MMOs force me to gamble, I don’t enjoy it.
Look at every Fractal discussion and you’ll see requests for 2.5 I think it’d go over very well.
I’d actually say GW2 is already above the standard in this issue though. We do have a token system for much of the game. It’s called GOLD! We can get around the rarity of items by using gold to purchase it from each other. But, we can’t do that on everything and that’s where we need these systems.
.
Teq hoard? Repeatable achievement after 25 kills you’ll get a hoard, could even do an exponential curve on that till you hit a cap and have it repeat at that point? /shrug
Fractals Pristine Relics already exist.
Things like Gwynddolin(sp) have each ToT bag in the future drop a regular candy wrapper, 40k of them = gwyn /shrug something like that.
(edited by Jerus.4350)
I think the stacking is not the problem. The problem are the corners.I don’t mind to stack with the group just don’t let bosses be pulled to the corners.Make them imune or something like that if they are pulled to a wall.
What advantage do you gain by pulling a boss into a corner. Please post a specific in game example where you have an advantage. I know of one, but I want to see your idea.
Well subject alpha in path 2 and 3 so you can dodge its attack while staying in place. AC path 2 where you need the boss to go through the trap, if you are behind the pillar he will go straight toward you, go thought the trap and don’t attack you with his white AoE. CM path 3, if you stack in the tunnel you can kill the boss before the Golem reach you (or course if you have enough dps you don’t need to stack, but for normal group it can help a lot).
But its true that a lot of pugs stack at place *where there is no longer a real advantage. *It just make things easier for them when the boss don’t move in a corner.
Of everything you cited, the CM one is the only accurate one. And I think you mean CM p1 final boss not p3.
Nonetheless you’re right about the bolded part. The important part is that it isnt the corner that is conferring the advantage in any of those cases.
I’d say it’s still nice to get Subject Alpha to a wall just to keep him place IMO. P1 I prefer the open space in case I mistime some dodging, but the rest are worth taking the extra couple seconds just for the quality of life that the wall provides. I mean nothing is more frustrating than laying down a damage field and having the enemy walk out.
I should have saved that video, but everytime the communication issue is brought up I just remember the video someone cut together of them repeatedly saying “We can’t talk about that”… that video sums up ANet so well.
I’d love to know if more challenging content is ever going to come. At this point my main frustration in this game is that I have no motivation to get better. I’m far from great at this game, I have a lot of room for improvement but i have no motivation to work on it as there’s really nothing to do past what I can already do well enough.
That’s why I spend most of my time afk or half afk farming nonsense. I hop in and do Arah when I can because I do find that engaging. I don’t really do fractals as while they’re individually fun I hate the random jump between them and some of them I absolutely hate because I don’t feel it’s about read and react gameplay because the models are small and effects cover them up so well that I can’t see what they’re doing to read, so it’s more guess and react to me.
I’d be so happy if they were to put out another Lupi style encounter… it’s so well made.
So anyway, solutions to solve ‘stacking’ should first look at walls and corners. Players who can combine well with close play in the open field should be rewarded.
Please read what I wrote just a few posts above. The only people still using walls and corners for most bosses have no idea why they are doing and are actually just wasting their time.
Most bosses don’t need to be cornered, unless you move want to move the boss before you engage. Some bosses like Subject Alpha can still be positioned better with a wall than with skills. For trash though the corners still rule as the top method of crowd control. Trash are often more dangerous than bosses.
Subject alpha in p1 though is one of those examples that people stack and in doing so hinder themselves more than help.
What’s wrong with potatoes?
Sparrow,
Are you doing HOTW or Arah?
Or are you doing the lower level ones like AC/CM/TA
I ask because in April they changed crit damage into ferocity and with it the scaling of it making us do even more damage when scaled down. It was very noticeable at the time as back then with FGS on the AC spider queen pre patch it took like 4-5 rushes, after the patch it took my same group 2…
So yes lower level dungeons bosses just blow up, it’s silly and personally I hate it, and I find those dungeons completely dull now as the fights last only a few seconds even in very mediocre groups.
If you want some longer fights try HOTW they are HP sponges. Try Arah, while not as spongy they are decent fights with good mechanics that you’d really need to be organized to blow up… except that bullcrap lupi gimmick. At the very least go into COE they don’t blow up nearly as fast.
I can’t even get through a damage rotation on AC bosses.
… Dodge the first attack of Malrona to find outwhat it is. After that she will alternate a poison and a spit. The spit is deadly the poison will damage but also gives you a buff to your outgoing damage so you don’t want toa void it.
Even stacked if you simply dodge as the attack is going out you will take no damage.
Your group was just very very bad, the design of the encounter doesn’t discourage stacking at all. Same goes for Subject Alpha in COE, just time your dodges and even the overlapping attacks won’t touch you.
Stacking isn’t some miracle some people make it out to be…
Would be worst on Thieves, I think.
Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker, Heartseeker….. it’d never stop!
does initiative reset on weapon swap?
It’s also a blind, and chaining blinds = win.
First day I had the game. Went to do a heart, turned into a snow leopard and could kill a moose… sold me on the game
Seeing Lupicus for the first time and seeing the solo videos… it’s been my goal for the game, once I get it done and can repeat it consistently I’ll consider the game beaten
i’ll switch my build to 4/5/0/0/5 seems much better
what about the runes on armor? get scholar?
what stats on accessories/trinkets/rings/backpiece? all zerker? No 6 in prec tree is dropping quite a bit of crit chance, not just from base stats but also Right Hand Strength. Scholar is ideal because it should be quite easy to be at full health when it happens. And full zerk is the meta so no reason to get ascended just for this gimmick that may be fixed in the future.
Just want to point out, 6 in Radiance will not improve your reflects critical chance (the 50 precision from trait will though), only you scepter skills. Other than that 4/6/0/0/4 seems like a nice build, never tried it though, I’ll definitely try that
!
Ahh didn’t realize that, guess an accuracy sigil may help then.

That’d be what I use… though Undead Slaying instead of Force and I don’t use the accuracy (should be at 97% without it, so much going to waste).
Then make sure you’re on Scepter for the reflect part, that nets you 5% more damage than the GS trait + GS equipped.
And remember, reflects only work off damage modifiers and crits, not off of power, so you’re not losing anything dropping that one point in the power tree except some dps in phase 1.
Scepter also lets you range phase 1 after you push to wall not risking getting kicked making it easy mode (just have to watch for the locusts).
I’d also change master of Consecrations for Unscathed Contender but the longer wall can prove useful.
I have Save yourself in there for self fury you can swap for retreat for another Aegis if you wanted if fury is covered. Stand your ground is nice to hit for that transition so you don’t get caught with the grub stun. Also using a Fire Elemental can be helpful as it’ll yield more projectiles to be reflected.
Also to end… don’t pass up the opportunity to actually learn the fight as intended, it’s one of the most entertaining and fun fights in the game. So I’ll leave with this other link:

Hope this all helps
Yay oldschool EQ players
I was there and played Druid as well, there were dozens of them with variations of “taxi” as their names(mine wasn’t one of those, and I mained Bard).
What is it with this thread and EQ bards? My main was a bard as well.
Best class in any game ever, so broken (in the best way) that they’d crash the game when trying to fix it
Hello, title says it all ? me and my brother wan’t to play, but dont know what class’s would be good together ?
Find something you like.
Just consider the roles.
Mobility:
- Stealth is REALLY nice, not required though.
- Swiftness uptime is a concern
- What else do they have? leaps? Teleports? Blinks? FGS is great for covering distance.
Damage:
- Might really really helps
- Vuln is always nice as well
- Fury is another thing
- Are you comfortable running the professions rotations and damage setups?
Defense:
- Projectile defense is very very impactful
- Evades? Blocks? Aegis? What else do you have and need?
- Healing scales poorly but with some synergy you can do a lot.
Just consider what things add. Warriors/Ele have decent Fury buffs for the group, Ele basically permanent. Ele>Engi>Guard/War for might stacking, warrior can phalanx but I wouldn’t even consider that an option in a duo, not worth the loss. Ele/Engi for Vuln… Ranger, Necro, and Warrior aren’t bad either but can’t match Ele/Engi.
For Mobility Warrior/Ele/Guard and well lots can provide swiftness. Then there’s the other stuff. Thief>Engi>Mesmer for Stealth.
Guard is the predominant defensive player, though Mesmer is solid as well and then a lot of others can fill in as needed.
If I were to make a duo I’d probably go Engi+ war/ele/guard ideally, depending on the situation, if it were just in general it’d be a tossup on war/ele probably lean towards Ele though it’s a tough profession to play. Maintaining full might & Fury as well as Vuln in a duo… nothing to complain about.
Blind is such a wonderful under appreciated thing.
Ohh yes it is! Thanks Iris, Thief/Engi/Guard/Ele for that, though I may be missing someone. Thief Pistol5 and Engi Smokebomb + Flash Grenade is my fav but Guard has great coverage with GS3, Focus4, sword2, and VoJ traited. Ele with sandstorm.

I just keep looking at that picture and keep thinking it looks like a pretty steady increase over time.
True though August-Oct it leveled out a bit, dipping mid october then shooting back up around halloween – nov patch then falling back down to around that pre halloween level.
I’ve had people use the same explanation as you are here, but I just can’t shake that picture. People are claiming that the prices have not been increasing but I look at that picture and it’s pretty night and day that the prices are higher now than they were months ago and it’s quite a steady increase with some dips and gains here and there as to be expected.
I mean if the demand increase is over from april’s patch, why are they not down in the 40 silver range? Why is it considered an artificial drop for them to go as low as 60silver?
Everytime I look at that graph and talk about this I’m honestly tempted to just throw my money into Powerful bloods as an investment.
This is great news! So you’re telling me that farming isn’t causing inflation, but is lowering prices? Awesome because I’d really like to buy a precursor since I’ve never had one drop (probably because I don’t farm enough).
So since I’ve been playing the enjoyable way to me, fractals, map exploration, a dungeon or two in a session, and saved almost every penny I’ve made for the last 809 days, I’m now closer to buying a precursor? I’ve got 401 gold
Which one can I buy?
And when I get really lucky and manage to find a lvl 400 crafting material, can it sell for a lot to get me closer to my goal? Or has the majority of fairly “rare” things I am likely to come across now been devalued, while inflation has increased significantly for things that can’t be farmed?
Farming gold (dungeons) and farming mats (open world champ farms) have two different effects on the price of materials. In an ideal world the gold supply generated from dungeons will match the mat supply generated from open world and lead to price equilibrium/stability… which is basically where we have been for several months besides this last patch lowering material prices.
Not sure I agree that we’ve had prices being stable.
Since I started the game around march, prices of Powerful Blood have doubled. And this last month has been the most volatile of that time seeing quite the spike. Now, I just assume normal slow inflation for the majority of that, but they say that doesn’t exist so /shrug. Of course there are varying supply/demand shifts to explain some of the larger shifts.
Old time MMO term. We used it back in Everquest 1. Might have been around before that, but I first heard about in 1999 playing EQ1
Yeah, I am old
Yay oldschool EQ players
I was there and played Druid as well, there were dozens of them with variations of “taxi” as their names(mine wasn’t one of those, and I mained Bard). It was a good money maker.
Though slightly different meaning, here it’s to get you into the correct instance, there it was to get you to the different zones.
All the EQ players in this thread makes me happy
. I was one of those that got hooked way back when it was in bet and played for 15 years… still have an account with a max leveled toon I believe (I don’t think they’ve raised the cap yet…)

Well it also lead to Chris asking for vedeos of Mr H which lead to his ban I guess… so /shrug.
Still I don’t feel ANet has much in the way of Integrity at this point. They’ve dug quite the deep hole.
Just going to leave this here for you, these guys are great:

You’re still asking for the game play to massively change years after the game was released.
To me Engi is like playing a Fresh Air Ele, very active and very fun.
I’ll bring bombs, grenades, or flamethrower as a weapon for the 1 skill, then I’ll use other kits for certain skills, be it Elixer gun 4, Flamethrower2, Toolkit4, or Bombkit 2/4.
What you suggest would remove that possibility and again be a huge nerf and massive change to game play. Engi would go from a profession I’m absolutely loving right now, to one I rarely play overnight.
Hey, so I’ve started running a Phalanx build when I do dungeons with my guild, because we don’t have the greatest players and aside from pre-stacking might we don’t maintain much. I was wondering what Sigils I should have on my Greatsword and Axe Mace. Currently running Night/Strength and Night/Battle respectively. We rarely do day time dungeons
That’s what I run, though Force because I did daytime dungeons as well. I never had strength runes though, with those my buddies warriors were able to maintain the 25stacks without the strength sigil and had a force in there instead.
and just to be clear I don’t really think rapid fire is totally “OP”
trying to keep this shortbut the stealth tracking is a bit of a problem ..
or the number of dodges it takes to avoid itand there is a number of ways they can fix it
but all I am trying to say is some small tweaks could fix it and ranger should be buffed in return
I can somewhat agree there, I think RF is pretty fine, but it could be made slightly easier to deal with and still be quite powerful. Increase the first half of the damage while taking the damage off the second half. Thus if you recognize the tell and dodge accordingly you’ll avoid the brunt of the attack, you can sacrifice a double dodge to avoid it all but it’s a choice you make.
Just a thought if it’s really deemed OP that’s as far of a change that I think would be reasonable, honestly I don’t find it to be an issue either way, and I really think Stealth is so powerful that it shouldn’t be a catch all avoidance. Plenty of other things have weaknesses why shouldn’t stealth?
