I’m hoping the new system will be much improved or I’m going to have a very sad Revenant who watches the expansion from the sidelines while his older brothers and sisters (fully traited from the first system) play.

In case people don’t know, the golden pig on the Gem Store is an obvious nod to the Pike Place Market Piggy Bank in Seattle where ANet is based. I personally would have preferred a gem store mini doughnut machine that is located right next to the pig, but oh well.

I admit I feel unmoved by the thought of old Tyria not having Living Story updates after the expansion drops. I’ll be playing in the new zone and doing the updates there. That is where the war against the new dragon will be fought. Old Tyria will be behind the frontline and will be quiet, unless of course Mordremoth flanks the troops and hits the old area again, causing the living story to return in order to deal with it.

It’s a living world at war. The battlefields will shift as time goes by and old battlefields will be quiet.

Really, the only people to whom this will be an actual concern is those veteran players who don’t buy the expansion.

Maybe if they had put wings on him and he was a flying pig? If there is anything this game desperately needs, it’s flying pigs.

Now if only my char had an emote where he says, “I’m rich you know” when his golden pig is beside him.

How else could it be done though? Should the living story episodes set in the new areas and cities be placed in old Tyria instead? Should those who didn’t buy the expansion have access to the new areas to play them? It’s the nature of an expansion that the story is gated behind it. Does WoW, for example, have the current expansion’s story available to non purchasers?

It’s also possible that the old Tyria will have updates and a living story arc relating to events there. They could have a living story about the rebuilding of Lions Arch for example. There could be one about searching for Sylvari spies for Mordremoth in old Tyria. Just because season 3 will be in the new area doesn’t mean the old one will be abandoned. It’s to ANet’s advantage to keep customers happy.

If you couldn’t see it on the gem store the whole time it was available despite looking for it multiple times during that period then maybe you need to contact support since it showed up for everyone else.

Try doing a client repair. Maybe you have corrupted files.

They said it was a sneak peak and they will be back.

Most events scale for up to 10 players. Group events and large scale events such as the finale for meta events will scale much higher. For example, The Shatterer scales up to 100 players. Events can detect that players have not performed any actions relating to the event within a period of time and will scale down the event accordingly.

The solution might be for these events to check and adjust the scaling more frequently instead of sending off more reports to support.

I would have thought it would be a money grab if they cost less when they eventually return. Since most people bought them now it would mean they bought them for at a higher price because they felt pressured to buy because of the time limit.

But I’m sure no matter how ANet markets them some one will be sure to call it a money grab.

Sounds like a bug. Maybe do a client repair, see if that fixes it. If not, you can try reporting it as a bug and see if it’s something they will fix.

I have 4-5 from my home instance. Haven’t had it that long. That’s with taking my extra account in to collect as well, so I guess cut that in half to 2-3 on main account.

You’ve got the nodes on both accounts or you are taking your second account into the first one’s home instance somehow? If you are, how? A second computer or some other way?

It will probably be like the engineer kits. The backpiece from a kit replaces whatever backpiece you are wearing and I would expect the glider to do the same.

There was an emote you could buy but the wings only lasted a few seconds.

The only other wings, besides the Paragon skill wings, were the black wings that were part of the Raiment of the Lich costume.

Back packs are in the trinket section, not the armor section, so they don’t have an armor weight. In addition, they have no seams and no dye channels, like the armors do.

I have looked repeatedly for a specific reason why they can’t or won’t have race changes. Unfortunately while they imply reasons, the ones I’ve seen haven’t specifically said why they won’t. They’ve only said no, they won’t (with reasons that have loopholes).

It would be wonderful if ANet would say they can’t because personal story and no way to get around it even if the story is finished or if it’s philosophical, or simply too likely to have major bugs because of various conflicts.

It’s always been like this, since launch. There’s no way to keep guild chat on the chat tab if you switch chars.

They’ve already said they don’t have a way to reset your personal story if you make a wrong choice at one of the branches. If they can’t do that then I doubt they can reset it to the start as that’s just a reset to an earlier point.

It might not be regular experience but mastery experience. A possible example. Let’s say one mastery track is for using stationary guns/cannons on mordrem and the more you use one the more points you get towards advancing the track, till you max it out.

It says conversations here as one way. It looks like talking to Itzel NPCs will advance the mastery track.

The wings were added to the Guild Wars 1 world in 2010. The Rainment of the Lich outfit was brought to this game after numerous requests for it, but without the wings. The wings had multiple requests for them, as they are needed to complete the outfit. (As too why the outfit didn’t have have, because the backpiece in this game is separate and would cause massive clipping)

I’ve stopped doing the daily events. I couldn’t take the irritation any longer.

Everyone will wear it for a while then a new backpiece will be the new thing to get and everyone will be wearing that. The Karka shell backpiece had its day and so did the holographic wings and the Shatterer wings. They are still around but nowhere near like the height of their popularity.

I’ve noticed it isn’t working correctly. Even on a char that has 100% map it won’t show events until I’m almost on top of them and at that time I can see them on my mini map anyway.

Presumably the chef is still available in town to buy what you need and the Grawl and orphan will be there if the story is active. However it does say finish. Which suggests the story needed to be started before the end of Wintersday 2014.

If you want to convince someone to convert scarce tickets to a weapon skin then you need to factor in the value of 5 tickets. A Leyline weapon costs 5 tickets. Since the cheapest one ticket weapons sell for 60-90 gold then you should expect to have to pay the guy at least 300 gold (60 gold x 5 tickets) If less than that then he should buy 5 weapon skins and sell them for 60 gold each, not sell one weapon to you for 100 gold less than what the tickets are worth. The current Ley Line weapon skins are less than 300 gold because they were bought with only one ticket.

Your best bet is to put in a buy order for a price you want and hope someone sells to you.

The Dev was talking about the start of outfits and mentioned why the different armor types could not be made to mix and match.

“When we started looking at bringing more of the clothing back into armor with mix and match styles there are some fundamental incompatible things between weight classes. (part of how we set up every armor to allow many dye channels and styles per piece). There really is no way at this point over six years since we started development to make absolutely everything work together. So we needed something new to continue to grow in the future.”

In other words, they can’t just copy and paste onto the different weights. They have said there are differences where the armor seams are (where the different pieces are divided from the neighboring armor piece) as well as where the different weights have their dye channels.

I can see it if you already own the tools and their animations. Not so much if you want to trade an old animation for a new one in the gemstore.

Cap price, supply drops because it’s no longer as profitable to sell and people start hoarding. People start selling over the black market (player to player) or trading guilds pop up for trusted player to player trading (with higher unregulated prices for silk).

I want to sell my stacks of silk bolts but I don’t want to sell it for the capped price. There is a guild that handles selling to players. I sell my silk to them and they resale to other players for a higher price. Once this gets going and other guilds get in the business and other players, supply drops further in the trading post.

OP, if you had wanted to farm these skulls instead of buying them….

Depicting them, sure, but his work was a turning point for the word, “undead.” Prior to him it meant, “not dead,” or, “alive.”

You are using the word undead outside of its original meaning while complaining about the use of revenant outside of its original meaning.

Keep in mind that returning from the dead, even in fiction, does not make one, “undead.” One can, in fiction/mythology at least, return from the dead and be alive.

Unless you are an exceptional player beyond compare, your characters have returned from the dead at one point or another.

There have been enough reports of people using the friend’s list to stalk others to believe that this happens. As Gaile points out, usually both sides share some blame. But if one side has disengaged from an argument, blocked the other and left and the other is pursuing and trying to get around the block and using loopholes to do so, then it is stalking and harassing no matter how it started,

If you can mouse over the reward and know what you were going to get ahead of time, then don’t do it for the reward if it’s not good enough.

I can see complaining if the reward was hidden but, you knew ahead of time what you were going to get!

Perhaps Unseenstrike would like to post a thread or some sort of proof besides his claim so that this happened so we also can read it?

My preference, add loads of outfits in the gem store and put the new armors in game.

I wonder what would happen if I type /dance while gliding as my Princess Doll? Will I then dance through the sky?

Yes, it would. If you block someone they should not be able to emote messages to you, see what map you are on, spam group invites to you or group up with you or have the game tell them when you log on or off. Since these problems have been known for years, either ANet can’t change the system or won’t.

Until ANet does fix it, the only thing you can do at this time is report them and update your report with each incident.

Now, there are occasions when claims of “harassment” run in both directions. I am not making a judgment about any situations mention here, but sometimes chat records show a back-and-forth bickering or attacking that does not allow an easy solution. This means an agent confirms an in-game report but also notes that the alleged victim also was in breach of the UA or the RoC. If there’s evidence of what we call “mutual antagonism” then it gets trickier and a resolution isn’t as simple to reach.
If someone is overtly harassing a player, the team may well be able to help with the situation if that player wishes to file a support ticket. (We cannot accept a ticket on behalf of a third party — the person involved should reach out to CS.) When doing so, please provide your character name, the offending player’s character or display name, and a very precise time, time zone, and date. Screenshots are not necessary if you can provide those details, at which time an agent will look up the incident and see what took place.
Bottom line: if you’re being harassed, do not react. Do not have your friends react. Don’t post about it on a forum or make a public issue of it. Do not start a flame war or fire a bunch of verbal mortar shots back in the direction of the person who initiated the attacks. Simply submit an in-game report or, if necessary, a ticket.
If you have submitted a ticket and the team has not reacted, then you need to continue your private discussion with a CS agent, as we would not discuss particulars here on the forums.”

Rebuilding costs gold. Most of their tax base was killed or scattered, their homes and livelihoods destroyed. Where is the LA government going to get the gold to rebuild? If they borrow from neighboring races I wouldn’t think the Sylvari or Norn would be a good source, which means the Charr or Asura. I can’t see the humans going hat in hand to discuss loans from the Charr, which leaves Asura. As to that, any loan from the Asura would need a close scrutiny of the terms first as I would bet they would make a very close bargain.

Submit a ticket with a screenshot attached. There is an in game option. ANet deals quite harshly with bots and they are normally quickly banned. Don’t forget though most botters are very persistent and will simply make a new account/etc. They make RL money off botting (most hardcore ones) so they aren’t going to be deterred losing one account. Its a forever battle.

I’ve used this method for reporting bots and got told “this is not the proper way, use the report tool.”

My opinion there is that Anet simply wants to ignore this issue anymore. They refuse to give players the tools necessary to report these players easily. It should not be a game of twitch reflexes just to catch a bot, it should be something that anyone can easily take care of. Frankly, the rudeness of the response I got from support from my tickets has put me in an apathetic mode. I’ve never reported a bot since.

The screenshots and in game reports are useful where you can’t get the bots name either because they are too fast or are unreportable because they are showing as dead. If you can get a name, then they want a report with the char’s name as it’s much more accurate. Say that you can’t get the name for a report and why in the ingame report if you have to use the screenshot method.
