you have to know that collectors edition owners come with a 3 or 5d personal golem banker, so they’d create a new char, skip cut scene, open mail, open banker, transfer. Log to char select, delete said char. Repeat until fixed.

I like to chat and cheer and give tips or help with build/tactics on various professions even if it means I don’t farm often, but for the first time I really had a moral conflict.
One part of me was saying: well it’s ok, my turn then his. Other part started creeping up: “why doesn’t he wait 10 more seconds since I used time to revive him so I go at it again before him”

So I was in a dome with just me and another player. Other player’s trying to do Liadri (8 or not no clue). I’m doing Deadeye Dumwell 5 gambit farming.
Player lambda’s doign quite well as only dies during phase 2. But dies each time.
Now I kill my guy in under 20s, I come out, I sidestep to the left and I drop down to revive player lambda while I click on npc to select Tier 3 -> Deadeye Dumwell again.

Here what happens: player lambda gets up after I rev, I still gotta move to gambit npc to pick 5 again, player lambda goes straight to queue npc.

So I wait and watch and cheer and give tips (ppl still love to waste dodges in p2 trying to get out while they should just use 1 dodge to stay inside as shadowFALLS, so next wave you’re already in safe spot). Lambda dies again, my queue pops I go in, do my 15s business, come out and start to rev again.

This repeats for about 4 times in row.

What would you do?

A. Repeat doing what I done again each time.

B. Get your 5 gambits and champ and then revive lambda so you can get to queue npc before (doing 2 fights while lambda does 1 each rotation).

C. Don’t revive lambda.

D. Talk to lambda about this awkwardness.

E. Leave dome to find another. Saying goodbye or just leaving.

After one more day, I find flesh golem > life force > flesh golem rotation is the most optimal (all 5 gambits), since I can’t keep up LF level for too long when he does 8k shot. Still no cool down wait (maybe 2 seconds on signed, but hey).

very happy to have reached the same state as you. Can now farm back to back 5gambit wihout waiting golem or SoS. I use same build+rotation as before but now I actively move towards middle right from the start, can reach all the warp spots. It’s perfect. 30g/h here I come

edit: I did change some things. On opening weapon set I now use Agony on scepter, and Accuracy on Warhorn (didn’t know if 15% para was nerfed lately to not affect daze or not). On weapon swap (right after daze interrupt 5s confusion stack), I got Geomancy on scepter (he’s pull with grasp at start after SoS or BiP) and Agony scepter.

i made 200g, I can kill back to back 5gambit now DED but if I wasn’t so obsessed with doing all the daily APs I’d spend more time in arena.

If they they add any high expensive item gold sink, ppl not using arena farming will get smacked hard and rage will ensue. At this point if they just ban the big farmers, I’m fine with that. And yes, if I’m included in the ban, so be it, this game’s worth restarting from scratch. I got more from this event than from all the hours spent at shelt/pen + cof + x combined.

I put my alt ranger character leveling on hold (plan to main it), just because I don’t wanna be left out of the loop on this one. I’ve no clue if future stuff gonna require lots of gem/gold, I don’t wanna be left to watch. Heck the infinite gather stuff is coming back, so gonna need lotsa gold to get gems (bet gonna spike hard).

1 up urs: I beat Dead Eye 5gambit earlier, and instead of warping me back outside dome, I was still inside, I did receive the 6 bags on the right HUD, but lo and behold a rift orb spawns on my face, o_O on my face as I pan the camera in horror to see a Vision of Mortality coming at me with Liadri waving her dead hands at me.

ps: still had 5 gambits on me.

yea, as Broadicea said, i save my F1 for if and when i see the first killshot target on me. though i’ve gone back to hitting F1 right away for more vuln and might off the bat. and if you time it right, RIGHT as you see the killshot target on you, use focus 4. you should pull it off on time. and if he does happen to get a port, look for him asap, then sword 2 to him (should be up again) or if you see killshot charging up, use Renewed Focus if you have no other options. this will of course drag on your down time in between fights, but better than not getting your loots. : )) though iw ill note, if he happens to do his little charge up killshot, then port and shoot, focus 4 might not cut it since if he ports far, focus 4 won’t hit or won’t hit in time. so just be careful : ))

last night, i was lucky enough to find 2 other guards and a thief playing deadeye nonstop. so the Guards would coordinate empower so each time, every person would go in with 24 might stacks off the bat. Guards would have full 25 with Save Yourselves and itj ust helps thieves out even more. though it’s not as gauranteed easy win as before as a small timing slip up will allow him to port still. but you should still be able to do it. : ))

one thing thuogh, on a side note, at 5 times, 5 times!! last night after i empowered with another guard, i switch back to sword, yellow text.. fight starting soon.. i get ported in, then i get ported right back out right away. has anyone else experienced this? not sure what was going on.. but that was 25 tickets gone down the drain. :// and it was only happening to me as well.

@the last paragraph: happened once to me, immediately inside then outside without any chance to do anything, as if I had given up on queue, all tickets gone of course, zero gambit/boss selected.

Also what happened 4 times yesterday and 3 times the day before is Dead Eye vanishing on me, can be at start or during or near the end. When he does, fight ends, I win bags. Once he even vanished for a good 4seconds, quaggan came on me, then Deadeye came back and I was surely dead I knew it, then fight ended suddenly, and I hakittens again. Completely mystery, maybe server lagging and autowin code somewhere to at least prevent player raging if npc continue to dps while we can’t even see boss.

Making a new character for me is the biggest motivation. Gives me a whole new checklist of stuff to do, including:

-getting to 80
-finishing personal story with it
-map completion of lvl 65-80 area (nice rewards)
-full 100% map completion
-full set of armor of stat affix I want
-final runes for said armor
-all the weapon sets I need
-final runes for them
-gathering the skins for the looks
-total makeover kit for finishing touch
-getting the 6 Ascended items
-getting their www or agony resist + stat infusions
-doing story mode of all dungeons in case I need to open them for party

As you see it’s very time intensive stuff, so once I daydream about making a new alt/main character I go OCD about it.

For me it’s all about the quest to find the class/profession that matches me perfectly, the one I can take it to the top (usually pvp). The one that gives me the satisfaction of saying (=imagining): “I was the most respected/best …. at ….”.

I started with the game with asura thief, then made another thief but wanted it norn for escape in www.
Then made asura warrior because hey they are loved and welcomed everywhere but I still didn’t feel at home.
Proceeded to making a norn guardian (I really feel at home in dungeons with it but not enough in pvp/www).
Tried Mesmer on the idea that I was hoping my time I finish 2nd Bolt thieves or guardian would be able to offhand swords too; but nope, so my mesmer has dual Bolts and looks awesome but no holy grail feeling of completion. So those 2 bolts rust but it’s ok it’s just virtual ephemereal item.
My quest isn’t over, I’m currently main’ing a necro. I like it a lot on all aspects (even if I hate all morbid stuff which is why I took so long to even make one).
Saw this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfEWpvAlu68 of a Ranger sword/warhon + greatsword with great skirmish and amazing mobility. It completely brought me back to the days of Warhammer Online where I loved to Pounce left and right the battlefield, and of the staying melee power of the Swordmaster.
Got a notebook where I write all the stuff I think about of doing for my character (checklists and stuff), wrote new pages for my upcoming ranger to be Juqa… see how it goes.

First, I can’t say how many characters I’ve deleted without checking the inventory or stripping off and selling their armor! Like really, EVERY time. Why can’t I remember this??.

And here I thought reading at the title that normal players trying to earn their achievements would have to wait longer to get their chances because farming’s now more widespread [valid], but no, I had to stumble upon a baddie that can’t even handle a T3 farm let alone do it fast, complain that other players that are trying to get their event content (incl mini) are bothering his farming efficiency. Yak dung.

Man I do T3 5G for about 600tickets a day but I still love to /cheer , give tips, revive others, take time to alt tab to update threads for those with problems. Go buy some plot in Alaska and dig your gold in total isolation of hummanity.

Learned only today that Scepter trait 33% longer duration went over the 100% cap, I thought it was a hard cap. I’m ditching out that weakness trait for sure now :P

Can be done, but it’s still risky and have to wait on cd’s, while 4 gambits can be farmed with no breaks at all.

Is your implication that dark armor gives you 400 armor while in the act of casting? I have not personally tested this, but it has been well accepted that it only applies to skills that channel, and not for instance the slow cast time on dagger 5.

Multiple times I’ve survived kill shot, wasn’t in DS, didn’t have Spectral Armor.
I don’t have any pts into Soul Reaping so wasn’t a Last Gasp proc. Weakness + Dark Armor makes you really tough as nails I love it. I even use it now in www.

Side note, I do 5gambit with golem, and do 4gambit after so golem back up again, alternating between the two. I still wait like 15s for Signet of Spite in between fights (opening move)

I am not disagreeing that weakness + dark armor is good, I am asking if you are saying dark armor is effecting you outside of those three skills?

I just meant to say that from my experience Dark Armor works anytime I get hit while casting. Because kill shot would normally down me in rabid armor base hp. The previous days I wasn’t using this build so didn’t have Dark Armor and I would certainly be downed by Kill shot. For me it really feels as if it works because most of time I got 3/5th of HP when I come out from 5gambit and that’s without using FoC heal

if you mean the one with masticus, it’s you picking up the orange orbs till you reach 25 stacks (3min+ duration) at which point you do an exquisitely high amount of damage :P

The choice of arena does make a difference in where you are placed in there and where the mines start. Some arenas I have the same view as you, but others I can see him just fine. Try switching arenas and see if that helps

Keep the 8s-11s on liadri since you can’t win it that fast, but I’d still say put liadri with others on 2s-3s bags otherwise I bet ppl would migrate to liadri and the players trying to do their arena achievements would go nuts for waiting.

Zencow’s right you know… It’s clear you have to work on your necro more to find the rotation sweet spot, attune your trait alocation.Grasp/DS#3/Golem charge you got 3x completely reliable interrupts. You just need to know their flow.

That golem will charge the wrong way or charge into all the mines. And with the way “target-closest” refuses to target anything that the camera isn’t aiming at, and a camera that consistently gives you a bad view of the battlefield, that golem will charge off in a random direction.

That’s one of the worst things perhaps about this battle, getting the camera to work, and doing so before the boss one-shots you.

Spectral Grasp is rubbish at Dead Eye. Again, it makes you extremely reliable on the camera. It will miss unless the target is selected, and the target will be unselected after every teleport.

I eventually beat him using Flesh Wurm to teleport to the spot where I knew he would be, and then hitting him with Lich Form. But it still involves crossing the arena a few times. Not like any of the other classes that just stay in one place, and DPS him to death before he can teleport again. And that was my point, it’s a lot harder for a necro. It really is.

your experience feels horrible due to your build and rotation, whereas with my spec, it’s a work of art and joy.

I don’t move an inch when I go in, I don’t move my camera at all. it’s as if I play in first person view. I open with Signet of Spite then Grasp which will interrupt him (5 confusion stack), I then Signet of Spite then Warhorn Daze (another 5 confusion stacks), I then swap to my other Scepter Dagger, and do Deathly Swarm then Enfeebling Blood and Grasping Dead, now he’s gonna warp and killshot which I either use Golem charge or DS#3 and fight’s over on my part even if I get downed I win.

There’s no randomness, I do this over and over and over in 5gambit. The only thing that still bothers me and you didn’t mention that in your rant is that arena autokills any npc still left inside after fight ends, if golem would warp along with me when I win, I’d don’t have to wait 60s cd, but since he stays inside1s-2s more he gets killed like an ooze.

You have to get close to land a blind (or place a well), unless you rely on the Shadow Fiend. And we all know how reliable that guy is. Either way, he’ll hit you before you’re done placing that well…. if it doesn’t fail to cast of course, due to the thing canceling if you click out of reach. And you have to adjust the camera first too.

buy sprockets from TP, real cheap, do buy offers if you want they it’ a really fast moving consumer product :P then go to any of the 6 emissaries in the middle plaza, to buy 5 tickets for 20silver + 15 sprockets.

if you got a necro rabid by chance you can also still do 5gDED 100%win rate. but gotta wait golem cd (50-57s) because of the ooze fix they did which kills any npc left inside :-/ golem doesn’t warp out with me upon wins

Yes, there clearly is a balance issue here. For some classes this boss is just way too easy to farm, while for others he is way too difficult in comparison.

Riiiight. You have fear and blinds to stop his OHKO. Death Shroud can also be used to mitigate an OHKO.

Necroes have no problem farming Deadeye either with Zerker gear dagger/dagger, Spectral Grasp and either Wells or Minions. With minions you come out even better than warriors and guardians in farming efficiency since you don’t have to wait for cooldowns.

You’re so horribly misinformed/ignorant of the Necromancer. For starters, the shot goes through our Death Shroud and kills us, even if it’s at full – @Anet, thanks for the unnecessary nerf.
I personally took this guy out in 2 tries on CondiMancer, with no gambits. The first thing I noticed on my first attempt was my Flesh Golem taking aggro and dying instantly pls tell me all about how minions are supposed to help us.
Fearing him is completely counter productive, I shouldn’t have to explain why.

Our DPS would be considerably lower if we take utilities to help us survive, rather than damage utilities. Taking Grasp is a waste because our DPS wouldn’t be fast enough anyway, we can Dark Path, once and that’s assuming we still have LF to DS. Going full zerk would kitten our already horrible survivability against Deadeye with such a build.

Just because you’re probably kitten because you died to an overpowered build in sPvP doesn’t mean we’re not totally kitten in other areas of the game due to design flaws .

whisper me in-game if you need help as necro, cuz I farm him without even using flesh golem, not even if he’s ready. 5 gambit. Sadly I still gotta wait for Signet of Spite (traited for reduced cd). 100% win rate. I only got exotics no ascended.

And you actually can survive kill shot. Protection + weakness + DS but it’s pointless since he won’t kill shot when you’re hugging him.

PS: grasp is VITAL. So maybe you need more time spent at DeadEye

I think the game fix that despawns the Oozes also kills off anything else still inside arena dome when another player’s queue pops.

Explanation:
I pick up my 5 gambits (all save crowd favorite), I go inside vs Dead Eye with my Flesh Golem. I kill Dead Eye and my golem is still alive when he’s dead, but as I warp back outside and earn my reward, I can pan the camera to see my golem still inside, he doesn’t warp back outside instantly with me, and then I see him do the dying animation and my Summon Flesh Golem cooldown kicks in. Dead Eye doesn’t kill him, it’s the arena that kills him because he’s still inside while I’m out and the arena clears every npc inside for the next fight.

Effect:
I’m forced to wait 57seconds before I can reenter arena. I’m not gonna lie, I’m trying to farm Dead Eye on my necro, but I can’t do it twice as fast as others can because my pet auto dies and I gotta wait full cooldown after each fight.

Feedback from other necros around also say same thing happens to them. Very rarely does my golem warp back outside alive.
I have asked if this happens to rangers as well with their pets. Seems their pet either warps back with them or they aren’t affected by this.

I was killing the deadeye boss for the 5 gambit achievement when he suddenly disappeared entirely from the arena. A few seconds after I was teleported out of the arena and got tickets/achievements as if I had defeated him, even though I only had managed to hit him one or two times.
My friend who was with me experienced the same thing. We went to a different arena afterwards and didn’t experience the bug again.
We were in the norn arena when it happened, in case that’d be of any use.

Happened to me 3 times last time. I thought I was lagging and DeadEye somehow managed to stealth, or that I interrupted him and he nuked himself out from confusion (Perplexity rune).

The thing about the Liadri fight is that you don’t need to re-gear to fight her. I was in full zerker gear and specced into a pistol condition build and did just fine.

Focus on getting to the safe area and CnD when she gets close, then sneak attack when you have an opening. Let the bleeds work for you.

I didn’t have time/money to buy full carrion set for this so I just use my zerk stuff. Used a P/D approach at it. I really feel like this build (gear excl) was custom made for Liadri.

For sake of transparency I’ll give my whole gear, even if not adapted to this.
All zerk armor + ruby orbs. Zerk Pistol (5%chc) / Zerk dagger (Air)
Food Koi Cake or Mango pie

Withdraw + Roll for Initiative + Shadow Refuge + Signet of shadows + Daggerstorm

Mug I saved for Rift Orbs. Orbs got like 40s respawn timer so my Mug was always ready for em.

In Phase 1 (P1), Liadri is invulnerable to damage and CC but she still triggers stealth when you #5 Cloak and Dagger her. This is great for when you need to regen a bit.

CnD is the real deal for the whole fight. you can CnD on Dark Visions of Mortality (clones) + Liadri without worrying since you aoe blind on stealth which denies clones to detonate.
Allows you to go pick up that light in the middle of clones and safely toss it and move out.
You also won’t be affected by her cripple and weakness in P2 since you remove condition on stealth proc and every 3seconds.
Of course don’t over abuse of CnD because if invisible clones don’t see you so you can’t lure em to white fields. So you lose valuable time (2min to toss 8 lights and kill her)

For me priority #1: rift orbs, those go down first above all other actions, Steal is instant with zero aftercast so you can dodge even if rift orb was above a field. But even if I didn’t notice one was up and got pulled into it, I’d Mug it and RFI out or dodge.

DPS ain’t a problem, I actually had to stop damaging her to make sure I had at least 8 light tosses before she died. I never switched out of P/D, never touched my SB. CnD too invaluable.

Our ability to pick up safely lights while CnD stealthed even in middle of clones and having Widthraw + RFI as absolute o kitten is what makes this achievement easiest for thieves in my opinion.

We don’t have to go in same direction around the arena in P2.
With our plenty dodges and 50% move speed while CnD stealthed it’s very easy to go from safe zone to next safe zone even if far from the center; but we can actually go back to get that light behind us in the middle of clones.
You eventually get the flow of knowing current red zone = next safe zone so you can focus on the lights.

For elite I picked daggestorm since it can bleed cripple Liadri very well but know that it can occur that you somehow steal her whiplashing skill when you Daggerstorm.
The first time it happens it looks friggin awesome to see your character go like a dervish and lash all around in a frenzy for 3-4seconds, when this happens you move at cripple speed and can die to shadowfall. DS wasn’t very needed, I interrupted it to dodge 2s into it.

I’m done with all the achieves (Liadri 8 incl), gonna farm Dead Eye allll day till it gets subjected.

Condition style I can still kill Dead Eye if he uses Kill shot on his middle starting point, so it’s pretty fool proof. But I’m wondering if power would kill him faster or just as safely. I kinda wanna find the sweet spot where I will never lose either my bloodlust stacks or my corruption ^^

I love Liadri and all the queen arena gauntlet event!
No nerfs. In fact would be fun if Liadri 8 Light completion would give you Liadri pet BUT she’d also be followed by 3 tinier Dark Vision clones

Dead Eye bags still give 8s-11s. Far easier and faster for me than Sub7
expect DeadEye rewards to get in line today 8/10

Dead-eye is still an easy gauntlet to do with 4 gambits just get the weakness on him and pay attention to the killshot, I’ve gone down acouple times since starting and the fear + condition damage ticking away is enough to finish him off.

Seen as its only a matter of time before they nurf this dude too, heres the build i use;

I dislike conditions period. I already hated it enough when I had to switch for liari. If it wasn’t a gimmicy mechanic to begin with… would be one thing. But constantly respecing and switching gear just so I can do something is idiotic at best. Doing pavilion as condition is insulting. In a span of 1 boss fight doing MAAAAAAAYBE 30k dmg is pitiful. And it all comes from specter 3, autoattacks and some staff marks.

I only knew and played as power zerk necro, but for liadri and some gambits I finally went and got myself rabid stuff. It’s still my 2nd day as condimancer, but I gotta say seeing Epidemic in the grouped pavilion is fun. Load up on 25 corruption stacks fast and goin back to arena farmin

Patch notes just in mention Sub7 reward got lowered.

anytime you zone to another instance or map it will again disable #1. But as long as you stay in same map/instance, once you Enabled #1 AA, it will remember it for the next Lich form casting.

just bought 2 lost orrian jewelry boxes (under 5k karma piece), didn’t get the Karma Spender achievement (750 karma spent).

crown pavillion pretty empty now so the player doing arena group up in front of same arena to rez each other and help out with tips/cheering. I’m saying this because I’ve noticed none of us get any of the 4 bugs anymore. So I assume it’s server stress related ?
