Like flow said, perplexity + warhorn and epidemic gives a nice new playstyle. Especially if you are also an asura with technobabble / grasp.

Swarm gonna get +1sec on the cripple in future so that’s gonna be good for maybe dagger power builds to stay on targets in pvp/www, I duno.

I’m at 5. And don’t plan to take it further. Found my Main at last and turned out to be two mains, necro and ranger.

It takes a sw/wh + gs ranger to catch its warrior mirror; which I love doing. I also love trolling thieves and warriors as they try to catch me across the map. I use my ranger for extreme mobility, and I use my necro for I-ain’t-moving-from-this-spot-so-you-either-flee-or-you-die-trying.

finished Tribulation W2Z2+3 in subsample texture filtering as well. Every new stuff brings my fps down and increases load times. I used to play on med settings, use to see ppl’s armor/skins/dyes in www and LA, now everyone’s a clone and my screen at times turns into a soup of alphabet letters.

Hello I was intrigued by this:
Ascended Quiver of a Thousand Arrows (offensive) and the book There with Yakkington- A Traveler’s Taleer’s Tale (defensive) had MF%, since it got removed and you can select stats, does anyone know if you get any Dire affix (COND/Vit/Tough) options to select or is the list only comprised of the other available back items (soldier/berserker/apothecary/rabid/cavalier) ?

when I saw em in game chat, I immediately wondered if they’d be made available for spvp. wouldn’t it be rad for us necros in spvp vs skullcracker warriors?

Server transfer isnt destroying the servers Mag, it’s the League that is.

Before league server transfers were already available.

Deso was good. I dont care if we didnt win every week, we had it good after the whole sfr/viz/deso ordeal for months.

Who even asked for Leagues ? WWW in its current form was enough, Bloodlust wasn’t wanted/asked for.

I liked to www for 2h-3h a day. Granted I mostly roamed or scouted. I’d stay for a while even after my daily www achievs were done. But the past 2 days as a deso I hated www with such anger/frustration at Anet that I didn’t want to spend more time in WWW anymore.

Buffs disgust me, such an unfair advantage, heck taking camps now is risky/slower so you’re bound to get jumped on now. And on a group of players it’s a multiplier force as if they had extra players vs you.

But now I gotta ask you, if Deso’s pve capital and you can guest whole day there for LA community/pve, why wouldn’t ppl transfer out for more quality www ?

Heck my native language’s french, I got 7k gems sitting idle I could transfer to Vizunah, or even to SFR , I play after daily reset mostly until morning so I doubt they’d mind my bandwaggoning since I’d help with 24/7 coverage.

What makes you or me stick to Desolation, that guesting couldn’t fill?

Being 100% realistic here, I hate League for what it has done to Desolation, killed its www with the guilds transfering out. BUT I know Anet’s getting richer with all the gems/transfers so they win in the end.

tiny fire imp (full hellfire with arah coat in abyss/orange dye mix) with Bolt.
Specced my ranger for full mobility in 30/20/20/0/0 so I bolt around super fast, love being uncatchable in www. The animations of sword on ranger with Bolt never bore me. Very theatrical haha

Amusing trend I noticed as I pick up more and more Dire pieces (just got Asc Dire Scepter ps:regret this action), I’m becoming an unshakable aggro magnet

Stick with problem – my endurance regen is not enough to dodge every Subject cast, before i did it only with my war, who have additional dodge (ww attack). And not really know what to do. Maybe i can consume one attack with DS bar?

have you tried having a weap set just for coe/arah? with sigil of energy on both swap

A dagger power necro (non DS#1LB) would benefit more from assassin.

@OP: done exactly that. Had a fully glowing ascended fractal capacitor reskinned to shatterer wings on my mesmer. I transfered it to my ranger via crystal stone+splitter. Got the shatterer wings back along in the process and yes they are account bound again.

I ditched my agony for bursting. No longer have 100% bleed duration (90%) but I pack more punch.

I built my ranger specificaly for mobility in www. No one can catch me if I want to flee.

sword/warhorn + gs + 20% cd reduc trait + lightning reflexes

BUT I think the issue here might be the cooldown on weapon swap while in combat for warriors.

Yup done it for my Bolt.

Here’s one neat trick with splitters:

Char A has [infused] back item like say Endless Quiver that you want to pass it on to char B

Step 1 Transmute crystal so quiver gets stats of an account bound back item (ex: fervid censer / sclerite / toymaker bag)
Step 2 Result will be a quiver looking account bound with low stats, put it in bank.
Step 3 Log on B, retrieve it from bank
Step 4 Use trans splitter you get the acc bound back item back AND you can enjoy your infused Endless quiver on B

if I could, I would totally remake my human necro into an asura and turn it into a fire demon imp (destroyer). Hellfire head + shoulders + gloves look amazing on asura. The smoke effect is a lot more visual on asura because the hellfire solid parts are smaller so the smoke is wider whereas on bigger races like charr/norn the smoke gets caught inside the solid parts. Now if only I could somehow wear Medium armor Arah coat on my necro for that dinosaur spine tail + Arah boots it would be COMPLEAT!

Go 3 stats to get big burst (pow/prec/crit), yea you see big numbers but so do your opponents when they burst you. Even with the 20k hp in zerk you will go down fast.

Whereas go Dire, only 1 stat for your damage (condi), but you get tough+vit and you really will wonder howcome you were still alive (after switching from rabbid it’s really a nice surprise).

I started as power necro, got fully ascended offensive www infused but I ain’t going back to that. Reminds me too much of my thief days of burst down or bust.

Condi for me gives me a lot more control over the flow of the fight than going zerk.
Unless you’re a norn, you’re gonna get overwhelmed more quickly as a power necro than a condi one.

But no doubt about condi utterly sucking vs objects (gates, siege, etc…), I don’t care about coherence of combat arguement that you can’t bleed objects. Heck if they still don’t want to change that for coherence sake then change so burning does apply dmg and deals its ticks with 10x multiplier.

Turn off autotargeting and dont tab target: you can play GW2 as a TPS
Turn off Melee assist so you can go through enemies while attacking them
Enable Fast ground targeting so you only have to hit skill keys once and it will aim where your cursor is

Well good thing is, you got 2 options if you reach 300 early on:

Option A: resell the blue/green stuff on TP, so far seems that most of em give better than vendoring, though personally I absolutely hate wasting time for minor profit TP transactions knowing I’d get a lot more from farming spots so I will just vendor. [Anet please allow us for an option to tick items available for sale on TP and mass action sell them to lowest bidder provided a double OK prompt]

Option B: refine them to 500 luck (dunno if it’s highest one) so only takes 1 slot in bank and store them. Most probably they will add some use to them in mystic forge recipe or heck they might increase cap from 300% to x00%.

I’m wondering what is a working xx% crit chance in a dire/rabid mix.

I had full rabid armor/weapons/trinkets, got a dire/scavenging armor set, will slowly work on replacing rabid trinket/back stuff with dire.

If I go full dire I will switch out Sigil of Earth with Geomancy and maybe take Dhumfire out because I doubt I can efficiently proc them.

I used to do Fractal 10-18 multiple times per day with 3 characters. Earning a pristine relic and a chance at ring.

I hear that dungeon token rewards are now only account wide and per day.
Does this apply to FOTM too as well ? Meaning do I only get 1 pristine relic per day per Fract tier (10-18 / 20-28 / 30-38 / …) regardless of how many alts I have ?

I’m glad the Jatoro Dire piece came in with Scavenging runes because I’m a bit sceptical about how it will fare vs rabbid/perplexity (I’m a s/d + s/w in pve/www). Getting that Jatoro mantle shoulder piece was a pain, there were none on the TP when I checked. Had put a buy offer of 2g80s which got overbid pretty fast over 3g so I said eff that dolyak and put 8g offer. TP box shows me I got 2 mantles x-D o well.

I’m very fond of perplexity with warhorn + epidemic but after seeing that screenie of over 2k condi dmg, I have got to see the numbers on the ticks! Rennoko with your www stacks + buffs do you reach the 2xx mark on the bleeds? :P
I loved how the masticus bloodlust stacks affected our condition ticks in the arena, was fun seeing 4xx bleeds.

Got the exact paramour story with her in Harathi Hinterlands. I was actually there before the big invasion event had started, wanted to go there to make sure I had all the waypoints open.

When the event started I was at the Skill point at the top end of the big centaur megacamp. So that’s where she spawned on first time.

After 12 total “kisses” (3-4min it seems intervals between her visits), I figured she might make a final diner reserevation with me so I warped to the skritt tunnel waypoint at top north of map, and stayed at that waypoint so whole zergs could warp on me and get the achievement Scrambler

ps: I still have feelings for you, you can come rustle your leaves over me anytime babe.

Started when I was in-game loading map of Dredgehaunt Cliffs for Scarlet invasion and bam error

haha I have to laugh at this one. Why on earth would you save them ? I’d never keep any unopened and never would’ve bought tickets for next session before doing said session just because I’d fear an impending yellow message “new build available etc…” would mean DED nerf. I always opened up them up in between fights or at the end of my session.

If you hoarded them expecting the 8s-11s to be increased from a future patch than you just gambled and lost.

Everyone knew it was too good to last. Never be too greedy.

thanks to Ascii we had a thread about farming DED from day 1. Whereas other profession subforums didnt have any threads about DED farming at start.

Necros have more than enough interrupts for DED. I only use of 1 and that’s only as an o kitten button if I know he ports out of 900range (scepter).

The only trouble necros had was with Liadri 8, which again we had to work around by adding Energy sigils/Orrian stew foods.

I really wish my laptop could handle my recording and uploading and sharing on youtube but I can’t I’m happy I can atleast farm him with 10-20fps in domes.

Despite all the feedbacks you can find across the forums if you still feel necros have it unfairly hard at DED, then please by all means add me and synch to my instance so can show you how easy it really is to farm DED5G.

you cant see deadeye when you warp into thea rena because your camera was pointing down because you were looking down from the catwalk. point your camera level before you warp in and he’ll be in your FOV.

MQM, you know I’ve still not personally encountered a person in a pavillion farming like me. Oh I see plenty thieves/guardians farmin DED4G fast back to back, but none doing DED5G in the same ease. So until proven otherwise, I’ll go ahead and say us necros have it easy over other classes at farming DED5G.

Death Magic I Dark Armor trait is way too invaluable to pass.

But Scepter doesn’t have any channeling skills? Are you using axe or dagger mainhand?

cast time baby, the thing us necros hate the most ^^

Is your implication that dark armor gives you 400 armor while in the act of casting? I have not personally tested this, but it has been well accepted that it only applies to skills that channel, and not for instance the slow cast time on dagger 5.

DS4, dagger 2, axe 2 only?

Multiple times I’ve survived kill shot, wasn’t in DS, didn’t have Spectral Armor.
I don’t have any pts into Soul Reaping so wasn’t a Last Gasp proc. Weakness + Dark Armor makes you really tough as nails I love it. I even use it now in www.

Side note, I do 5gambit with golem, and do 4gambit after so golem back up again, alternating between the two. I still wait like 15s for Signet of Spite in between fights (opening move)

I am not disagreeing that weakness + dark armor is good, I am asking if you are saying dark armor is effecting you outside of those three skills?

I will just go test it to be sure.

I just meant to say that from my experience Dark Armor works anytime I get hit while casting. Because kill shot would normally down me in rabid armor base hp. The previous days I wasn’t using this build so didn’t have Dark Armor and I would certainly be downed by Kill shot. For me it really feels as if it works because most of time I got 3/5th of HP when I come out from 5gambit and that’s without using FoC heal

mea culpa, dark armor indeed didn’t work the way I thought it would. I had ignored that the damage of kill shots varies with distance between him and you. Thought I kept surviving his KS cuz of Dark Armor when I was in fact just at point blank range. So I switched Dark Armor out for 5s Retaliation on Heal and using that heal minion. Fit perfectly.

reproduced it 6 more times, always during DED5G. was always when I was at hugging range of DED, be it in human form or in DS form at the moment of blast.

Quite annoying trying to find out what is exactly causing this. Is it remaining in range of Tainted victim or going out of range at blast time or what I don’t know.
Back to farming.

Tried DED with no gambit: couldn’t reproduce it.

Tried DED with just Squeamish: couldn’t reproduce it.

Just reproduced it on DED 5gambit, 13 stacks gone. Again only removed at the blast part.

Can fellow necros who farm DeadEye Dumwell test the following which happened to me just now (submitted ingame bug report under Skill/Trait Behaviour):

Do your normal rotation to take out DED but before you kill him switch to DS, pop DS#5 , watch your bleed stacks, TS applies 1 stack of torment each second during the green/black tendrils, but at the last part where it blasts to deal dmg + immobilize that’s when you will see it remove all the bleed stacks. Not during the tendril torment stacking.

I had 16 bleeds on DED (Dark Path / Geomancy / Scepter 1+2 / Dagger 4+5 / BiP / SoS / bleed on crit trait.

Gonna test this outside on normal mobs/vets/champs solo. And maybe on other champs of Arena.
