Are you talking about FSP or GH ? Because i`m playing on FSP and last i checked FSP was second in this matchup and still doing pretty well, considering the odds (you know, like the fact that AG can outman us in almost every map and that we all know that AG does not really belong in this tier).

Our Guild have mainly been farming FSP this week other guilds are dealing with GH.

Just out of curiosity have you ever played in a tier above this ? Just wondering how you know we don’t belong here.

Also could you link me to where ever your getting your information regarding AG out numbering you on every map please ? I wouldn’t mind looking over it……

I didn`t answer your question because each time i met your guild you guys pulled off the same tactic. It wasn`t on a certain day, it was each and every time i have seen your group. Using the same questionable tactic over and over makes certain people wonder about how good your guild really is.
And yes, i have played on this server since day 1, and yes, we have faced servers better than yours.
I don`t think i need to link you anything, since you just need to look around how many of us you face.
I`m sorry for questioning your tactics, it probably bothers you, and to be honest in the end its your own choice what type of setups/tactics you use. Just dont expect any respect from anyone outside your guild while you`re busy patting eachother on the back for “culling” your way to victory.

Hello there!

I’d just like you to know that when we took out [DBU] it was just an unplanned event during the day, so we were only around 10-15 at the most and they outnumbered us two to one! :]

Also! We’re 30 players maximum on a good night(I know it’s still many but not like we’re going to tell people in our guild of 80 players to just go away), we look for zergs of enemies, most of the time they’re much larger than us. With Regards to the culling issue that is not our fault, we get on the bad side of it too quite often, but we’re fast enough to react not to wipe because of it! Maybe you should try it sometime :]

Oh and as for your level 80 remark, we have about 3 upscaled players a night if any, so you must’ve been imagining things!

Anyhow! I wish you the best of luck during the week to come!

PS. feel free to PM me if you want a 1v1, we have quite a few who enjoy a fight or two behind the windmill!

As for the culling issue, quite often it gets really bad, so bad that skills take forever to trigger.
A lot of people see what groups like yours do and they copy it, imagine how wvw will get soon. I know Fury cannot be blamed for the current issues that the engine has, probably the only thing one could say is that they`re not using other tactics.
I love observing various organized group and their wvw tactics not only in gw2 but in other games before it that had a similar type of gameplay (like Daoc, warhammer online, etc). Sometimes, i just want to see… more

awesome fight trying to defend bay against GH on GH BL just now i think we res lord about 4 times lol, there was literally a handful of us defending against a huge army of GH and i think we pulled together nicely and really held out as long as we could, great fight to be remembered

We had a tough time getting our guys to push in because they were obsessed with downing that lord you were ressing, gj.

I had alot of fun tonight, which hasn’t been the case all week. FSP was it me or were your numbers less then last night? Had an event of sorts? I was glad I could finally look upon a fully green borderland again, because kitten You guys went around yesterday ^^. Wondering what the end score will be, a very close one me thinks.

Thanks everyone for a wonderful matchup which was maybe the most even one of all tiers! And there was a lot that we learned from this week.

PS: I wonder if any of the Far Shiverpeaks guilds want to GvG against CryHavoc(CHvc) next week if we get matched up. I can’t say anything from cryhavoc’s side but we really enjoyed the last one against NightPact (RoF). And it’s maybe an idea to pitch in! =)

@LionZero – Yeah, it was fortified and you guys had a good defence going. Sure, we could have brute forced the gate and perhaps wiped a few times, but it was the last point on the map and we weren’t in a hurry. We decided to use the opportunity to test some new treb positions, none really worked out, but it was still fun trying.

@Kaleygh – Our primetime team lacks the large organised guild groups that FSP and MS have, GH is mainly comprised of small 5 man or less guild groups. It may make us less efficient, but you know what? We don’t care, we have a great community, and we have fun (most of the time). If being uberleet breeds your level of arrogance, we don’t need, or want it.

Let`s be serious, you can`t really call groups like Xaoc “5 man or less guild groups”.
And sorry if i passed off as arrogant, but a group of 20 running away from 6, hiding in a tower and spamming emotes from the walls is kinda… meh
I`m happy that you guys are having fun, and sorry if i was rude in my original post, i guess most servers have a few bad elements, and hopefully people like that don`t represent the majority of GH.

That fight was pretty crazy, but the delay on module activation was horrible.
Back on topic – i think the loot is ok-ish at the moment, would be nice if enemy players would drop crafting materials for example based on their level (a level 80 would drop t5-6 mats). A lot of people dont realize what a money sink wvw is for people who are involved in it day by day. Siege blueprints, upgrades, repairs, consumables and so on they all cost quite a bit of gold, and if things go bad at the end of the day you wont make back all the gold you just wasted.

I suggest browsing a Laural vendor again – they offer Siege blueprints too…

Where do you view upgrades? I’ve not seen that screen (though I don’t think our guild has held a ‘hard’ objective when I was online either). I keep hearing its using Gold, which was a surprise – would have figured that was done through the Supply system instead.

Yeah, well, I`m kinda reluctant to throw away a laurel that i get from 1 daily on a blueprint, i`d rather wait and get one of the ascended amulets or rings for it. The upgrades can be viewed at the quartermaster (its right next to where the supplies are) in any keep/tower/supply camp. Some of the upgrades are rather expensive, for example the last tier upgrades in SM (Eternal Battlegrounds) cost up to 2gold + karma (I don`t remember how much karma).
I also agree with people that are saying that jumping puzzles should be removed from the wvw maps. Certain people join wvw just to pick carrots, do the stupid jp`s or spam the team/map chat with “any mesmer in jp” type of stuff while those of us who actually want to go attack/defend/help our realm have to wait in que.

Lol, so many ex-eve players. I used to be one myself(3 years) but got kinda tired of looking at space for so long and waiting an hour for 2 mins of PVP was getting boring for me. However, watching the recent Asakai system capital battle is making eve pretty tempting… man 3000 people fighting without culling??? impossible!!

Necro wells are doing 10k damage to your warrior op ? I think we are playing different games. Wells do less damage than your 100b and have longer cooldowns. You can just…you know… move out of it ?
Even if the necro is sitting in one of his/her wells, you can just cc them out of it. Necros should be the last of your problems, unless you`re running lolberserker.
I think that either you have the wrong expectations from the warrior class or you need to play a little more.

I`m not really sure, but rendering characters that come out of stealth is a lot worse for me atm. Was outside Bay, got jumped and it took a lot more than usual to display the character attacking me. There weren`t many people in that area, probably around 5, so i wonder what could be the cause. Stealth was broken before in wvw but not to this extent. I`m hoping it was just the servers lagging, I really hope wvw wont be like this, there are enough thieves running around already. Did any of you guys experience the same problem ?
Haven`t had the chance to see a portal bomb yet, i`m really curious if the rendering issues are gone.

Now eveyone that doesnt agree with you is a “noob” and a “kid” who “qq`s” ?
Most people talk about the effort/result ratio, about how many escapes a thief has, the over the top damage and the abuse of culling in wvw.
On some classes you have to actually play TWICE as good as the thief player to stand a chance (in wvw atleast). Now, if you can come up with a mature post and argument your opinions, please do, until then making posts like this, will worsen the already bad opinion people already have on the thief community and will probably get you a few infractions as well.

Instead of complaining about stealth and whatever else…posting videos and trying to make a case of it…JUST TAKE SOME TIME TO LEARN THE MECHANICS OF THE CLASS AND LEARN TO COUNTER IT!!!

I’m sorry but posting a video of 5 low level baddies trying to kill one high end thief ain’t proff of anything but the fact that you should level, gear your toon and learn to PvP!!!

I run a thief in WvW mostly now and I die like everyone else…some classes give me headaches more than others…but the ones that mostly give me trouble are those who actually know what they are doing, and know the thief weaknesses and play to expose them instead of playing into them…

People expect to run around like chicken without heads with a lever 30 toon in WvW and expect to kill anyone easy mode and as soon as a player or a class actually knows what they are doing and kills them they cry out and QQ about it everywhere.

Get real people…get off the tief OP QQing bandwagon and go take time to actually learn to play the game!

+1 Cannot agree more. Nice post. Is the highest time to ban all ppl for making QQ posts and cry on forum. I think that spamming on forum is bannable and against rules and QQ topics and crying posts are great example of spamming forum.

Thief is very fragile character and has one of the lowest HP pool on game so he need some advantage to be able fight another OP classes like for example warrior which deal noncomparable more damage than thief + have much more HP and toughness than thieves. Without stealth and another skills thief will be only practise target for noobs who want some free kills.

As I said much time. First learn to play against thieves, then make one and level him to 80 level with full exotic gear and fight another experienced players and after that you maybe can speak about thief on forum. But ppl who have never played thief, dont know how thief work and go cry on forum how is thief OP, have no right to post such a topics and speak about thief. Absolutely no right!!!! All these QQ topics are made ppl who was 1-2 times defeated by some pro thief and now, instead of learning how to counter thief, only go cry on forum and want revenge. Experienced and pro player no need to cry on forum and make thousands of QQ topics about “OP” thief to feel better. Experienced and pro players learn how to counter thief instead.

And as was said on post more up. Videos where 1-60 lvl players go fight with full exotic 80 lvl experienced thief is no proof of OP of thief. Its only proof that these ppl are noobs and only want discredit thieves on forum.

Asking Anet to ban people you do not agree with it`s taking things rather far. They are customers who paid, same as you, and have the right to express their own views upon the game. You guys are saying a lot of people are complaining but have you ever wondered if maybe, just MAYBE, some of them have a point ?
You give d/d eles as an example, yet, i rarely have problems with them, unless it a ele played by a player better than me which would probably kill me on any class tbh.
If you guys think aoe`s are powerful, you probably forget that you can just walk out of it. Other classes, unlike thieves have cooldowns and cannot really spam anything except auto-attacks.
Also, before asking for bans, try leveling another class to 80 (like a engineer for example), get a few thousands kills/deaths on it and then come back and tell us with a straight face that thieves are ok.
And please, try to stop using abbreviations like “qq”, “l2p” or words like “noobs”. It just makes you look bad and everyone will assume you`re 12.

i dont care what they do with aoe as long as they do something. the constant aoe spam in wvw is stupid and takes a lot of fun out of pvp .

Then stop zerging, and look for small groups to travel with. Or look for ways to flank and create a concave, instead of massing up on an easily AoE’d choke point.

To a large degree, it’s a L2P issue. The fact that people STILL think that zerging a choke is a viable play style kind of tells me that AoE isn’t strong enough.

i wasnt aware that attacking a castle gate is zerging a choke point. if you dont drop the gate how else are you going to get into the castle to cap it. the fact that there can be nonstop aoe’s blocking a castle gate from only a few people inside the castle is pretty ridiculous and has nothing to do with learning to play.

Its a castle, its meant to require a COMBINED effort to get in. Besides, judging by your previous posts, you`re playing a thief. Most of the professions casting those “scary aoes” from the walls are dead meat once you meet them in the open field. There are classes better designed to deal with standing in an aoe and use a ram or whatever than you. Just to quote you it`s a “l2p issue”.

I have been in a lot of world versus world fights since the game was released, but I don`t remember having more fun than now. I took part in quite a few battles between small numbers of people which were a blast. Underworlders form guilds like ÄÄ, SWAG (and a few others that I cannot remember right now) proved to be good opponents always and fun to fight against. I`m not sure if I would like us to move up a tier, I`d rather see FR and UW get a bit more players so things will balance a bit. I`m not sure who has the most players right now, since sometimes we seem to dominate some of the maps, while other times we have the outnumbered buff, i just hope the numbers will be about equal.

Its an exploit, plain and simple. It`s used by a player to their advantage in a manner not intended by the game’s designers. If the devs intended you to stack 15+ seconds stealth you`d not have had the revealed buff (debuff?) in the game.

i know that it is not much armor but if i sacrifice all my dmg only to can survive few seconds longer how will i be able to kill anything ?

And why my “no armor” is not problem against any other class ?

You expected a single build to be perfect against every single opponents?

Your “no armor” is a problem against backstab thieves because they pray on such builds. They are the strongest counter to the pure glass cannon builds.

On a necro with 2.8k armor backstab hits for about 7-8k. On a guardian with 3.1k armor backstab hits for 6+k (but in this case the guardian has much lower hp than the necro so its almost the same thing). Just how much toughness do you expect people to stack just to counter a build that takes 0 skill to play?

Ok, i`ll put it another way so you can understand what i mean.
I`m playing a necro. Let`s say i can stack conditions on a wall. It is not possible, but lets pretend, because its the same thing, using a skill on a wall. Me and/or others stack 25 bleeds and other conditions on it and i use the skill epidemic to spread it and kill the targets close to that wall. That would give me an unfair advantage. Do you honestly think of that as being “ok” ?

It is not an exploit…the same result can be achieved by hitting the door.

CnD – Stab your foe and vanish in stealth, leaving them vulnerable.
I think “foe” means a player or a monster, not a door, wall, trees, rocks or whatever you may think of. I cannot understand how you can think its reasonable (or intended) to get 15+ seconds of stealth by hitting an inanimate object.

I think they should permanently ban players who use this kind of stuff. It does not encourage a less skilled player to become better, it eliminates the fun factor from most fights and things like this should not be present into a game that aspires to become an e-sport. I would not go as far and say that 2/3 of the pvp population is using those kinds of things like Gwawer said, because I personally noticed it a bunch of times and only on thieves. I`m not sure why some do this, it`s an unfair advantage, very, very close to cheating.

If anet handles this poorly, which is fairly likely, this change could very well be the end of competitive play in wvw. All hail the zerg.

You call 10 ele’s spamming 1 key competitive? AOE’s with masive damage feed the zerg just like bads like you. ANET is trying to fix something that’s ridiculas and causes much lagg, okay

Are you refering to meteor shower ? Because that skill has half a minute cooldown. Far from spammable. I`m playing wvw each day yet I have never ever seen 10 eles sitting in one place casting aoe`s. Usually its a bunch of different classes, running to the front, casting 1-2 spells then running back behind their line or their wall. I`ve been in pretty big fights with all kinds of aoe`s and crap flying around and i never lagged. The only time i lagged was during big portal bombs. I think aNet is looking at this from the wrong perspective.

So now everyone will play thief.. W vs W will be a joke now.. AOE damage is a problem when is made by siege.. a well fortified keep with decent superior siege can hold zergs with no problems at all..

Now let’s all play thief and make W vs W a big pvp arena.. it’s fun how they want to nerf this and thief’s keep winning vs 2 or 3 enemies easily with perma stealth and huge damage

culling, ones that is fixed thief’s will cry. Since due to culling their stealth is effective 1 or 2 secs longer and they can actually attack in that time without getting a debuff that will prevent stealth. So once it’s fixed they have to chose between getting the debuff or being visible instantly.

Their single target damage which is way over the top as it is. Their shortbow clusterbomb is also very good, and on a weapon that probably has some of the best weapon skills in the game, offering mobility/teleport, immobilize (from stealth), dodge+cripple, aoe poison field, a blast finisher which can also be used as an aoe bleed, and a auto attack which bounces between targets.

I`ve been looking all over the net on some of the more visited gw2 and mmo related websites and the overall reaction this aoe fiasco is very negative. Most players feel like anet is not listening to them, implementing changes that were not asked for. Instead of fixing bugs that plague certain classes ever since the betas or make certain weapons more attractive (you know, like the ones almost nobody uses) they choose to release half finished areas (lost shores), and now, take out the few tactical advantages a small organized team had over a zerg in wvw.
I keep hearing about “esports” yet, look how many people play tpvp, look at the ques sometimes, the boring meta and the lack of basic things, like leaderboards and many many other things. Don`t get me wrong guys, i`m not bashing the tpvp scene, but compared to it the number of players doing wvw is, by far, a lot larger. A lot of people seem to think wvw is all about zergs, but if you look closely at it, there are a lot of tactics involved, both at a macro and micro level. A small team can make a huge difference and can help grab a lot of objectives while a zerg is busy somewhere else, can cut reinforcement, harass, and so on. Nerfing aoe`s even further (the 5 target limit is just asinine) will make a lot of things harder for a force that is outnumbered.
I`m not sure what triggered this whole crusade against aoe damage, if thye`re doing it to balance tpvp or wvw pvp but, like usual, they`re not telling us anything. They keep saying they will be more transparent, but all i hear is “i cant comment on this now”, “we`ll reveal more in the future” or just plain silence. Ask in the necro forums for example how ignored people feel there, the last dev post was like a month ago and it didnt say much really.
I hope there are people around who played Warhammer online and remember the old bomb squads of bright wizards/sorc with guard from a tank. Now THAT was aoe that needed nerfing. The aoe in gw2 is rather weak to be honest, most abilities have cooldowns, so spamming them is out of the question. They`re easy to notice also, since you get a red circle that simply tells you to move out of there. I`d only agree with a nerf to the radius of aoes if it makes stealth break on damage. That would even things out a little.

The worst thing is that we do not even know what started this. Its not like there were hundreds of posts demanding it. I think the devs needs to clear things up a bit because for most players this decision was totally unexpected.
This types of changes cannot be healthy for the game, especially now with a lot of people being on the edge about quitting.

Obvious thief troll. I hope anet “balances” your lame class into the ground. Maybe then the class will attract less bads and trolls. Some Aoe`s dont even do full damage anyways since people just dodge out of the red circle and are always limited to 5 targets. If you`re a thief and you`ve been playing wvw then you should probably be aware that you`ve been abusing what is basically a bug (culling) to kill people. How much skill or tactic does that take ?

Not angry, just disappointed with the direction in which the game is heading. You guys had it waaay too easy for quite a while now, is it wrong to expect some kind of fixes ? Can you honestly tell me how nerfing aoe`s would benefit wvw atm ? I can clearly see how nerfing thieves on the other hand would benefit it. The game was supposed to be fun, where is the fun when you get ganked by 2 thieves outside your spawnpoint without even having the chance to press one button, on a character with 25k hp and 2.8 k armor? Quite often you cant even see them until it is too late because of the horrible rendering issues. What should i do ? dodge randomly ?
I`m not wishing bad things for others, i just wish that before other classes complain they should see the state engineers and necromancers are in. They dont seem to care what people think, look at the necro forums and see when the last dev posted there. The mods lock or delete most of the negative opinions, it doenst really seem like we can speak our minds around here and yes, people are angry.

It seems its ok for them that a thief lands 8k backstabs on a character with 2.8k armor, that almost all the bads out there rerolled thief and are ganking in wvw (atleast on the servers i played against in wvw) but they`re not ok with a crappy aoe that can only hit 5 people.
Most of the friends i was playing with in wvw left because of this and other numerous reasons (like culling for example), and to be honest its quite frustrating. Guildwars seems to be heading in the same direction Warhammer online did and its not a pretty sight.

You guys are wrong.

Let me explain.

First of all, you need to compare:

power with 0% crit vs condition damage

not [power + crit + crit damage] DPS vs [condition] DPS

You can see why, right?

In one case, you’re using 3 stats maxed to achieve higher DPS than the other case where you are using 1 stat maxed out.

Second of all:

Condition damage ignores toughness.

This is a very big deal. Whereas direct damage is heavily mitigated by armor (toughness + defense), condition damage is not, allowing it to slice through heavy armor the same as light.

So again, instead of comparing direct damage on a paper target to condition damage on a paper target, compare them on a high armor target.

Remember – 0% crit to keep it fair.

1 stat.

Condition damage is already very strong, and allows bunker stats to be mixed in.

For people to go power+crit+critdamage, they need to be total glass cannons, and as such will spend a majority of their time in downed state.

You probably forgot to add that some people have to blow a lot of cooldowns to apply, let`s say a 15-20 stack of bleeds which can be erased with the push of 1 button. On the other hand you cannot erase direct damage. There are classes that do more than decent damage using soldier or knight gear while maintaining a very good amount of survivability. Conditions should be harder to cleanse AND harder to apply in the case of some classes.

Minions have their uses but Necromancer was not designed as a pet class. Minions are just a nod to GW1 but are tooled to make up for poor direct damage in PvE. Use them for farming and to aid mobility (through sacrifice.)

Why even name it “Necromancer” then ? What is the point ? They could have came up with other, better names, for the class.

Hello! I’m Jjaja, I play Necromancer for a top five North American team (Jesus Beat Us Once; JBUO) and at the time of this posting I have around 376 qualifying points. Hopefully, these “credentials” lend some credibility to what I’m about to say. This is all strictly from my experience in tPvP.

Profession Balance: (Obviously every profession could use bug fixes and tweaks)
Guardian: Very Strong
Elementalist: Strong
Thief: Slightly Strong
Mesmer: Balanced
Necromancer: Balanced
Ranger: Balanced
Warrior: Slightly Weak
Engineer: Weak

Profession Representation: (There isn’t a profession we never see)
Guardian: Very High
Elementalist: Very High
Mesmer: High
Thief: Medium High
Necromancer: Medium High
Ranger: Medium
Warrior: Medium
Engineer: Medium Low

Weapon Swap Change:
Really hurts classes with no built in swiftness on their weapon sets. Otherwise, this is a good change. Why? It evens the playing field for professions who don’t have multiple viable weapon sets. It should be kept until all (or the majority) of the weapon sets are viable amongst all professions.

Paid Ticket Entry:
Needs to be lowered. It seriously reduces the competitive capacity of paids if some teams or players have to do four hours of frees just to do one paid. I suggest lowering the requirement from 5 to 3.

The Necromancer forums are a non-stop cryfest for buffs. I don’t believe we need any buffs. I’ve asked quite a few other top players for their opinion on this list and they seem to agree.

Honestly mate, I dont care if you`re a “pro” or whatever you think you are, but saying that the necro forums are a cryfest for buffs goes to show just how clueless you are.
Have you actually read the forums?
Did you see what people are asking for ? You know, things like maybe less kitten minions, or fixing some bugs that completly screw up some of our builds.
Maybe try going back and reading through some of those posts, maybe then you`ll get a clue on what the class you`re playing was supposed to be, and how Anets vision of “build diversity” works for some classes.

I think all the necros need to stop the QQ. So you got some bad patches, so what? So did several other classes in the game so far, but they’re starting to fix them and taking steps in the right direction. The last patch may not have been what you were expecting, but from what I saw of the other classes patch notes I am every pleased with Anet. I’m sure they will direct their love over in your direction soon enough, for now just think of it this way: If you can master the current semi-underpowered necro just think of what you will be capable of when they finally get around to buffing it!

Oh, that`s right, they`re taking steps into the right direction. Thieves get 50% movement speed but hey, don`t worry! Your kittening jagged horrors now live longer so they can kitten you off even more!
Are they even kittening listening to us ? I don`t think so. But then again, what do i know, i`m just a necro who has not mastered DS yet.
They even have the balls to come into our forums and ask us what`s wrong with our kittening pets…

We cannot really say that necros are broken. We have a few builds that work well, even if it takes relatively more effort to be competitive that it takes playing another class.
The problem as I see it is that necros are supposed to be minion masters specialized in dealing condition damage.
" The necromancer is great at inflicting debilitating or damaging conditions on enemies as well as removing conditions from allies and boons from enemies. " (gw2 wiki)
The abilities that make us special like Plague Signet or Corrupt Boon dont work or work half of the time. The minions are kitten to the point that using them is not only annoying but also a good way of gimping yourself. We can apply conditions relatively well, however there are other classes/specs that can do it faster than us (i know we have epidemic, but not every necro has it slotted). We lack a condition type that is unique to our class. Our fear is the worst in the game.
By making a quick comparison between the trait trees that others have and ours it is rather easy to see the lack of synergy.
And yet, despite all this, and having played warrior, mesmer, thief and guardian to 80 in spvp/wvw/pve i can honestly say that the necro is still my favourite class and my most played character.
We need a few fixes here and there, maybe some redesign of some of our traits (i`m looking at you Reanimator) and we`ll be just fine. I just hope Anet will communicate more with us and atleast tell us their “roadmap” for the necromancer and how they envision it and its place in today`s pvp.

I`m willing to call you out on this and show you that your “Hair conditioner/tank mm” can be facerolled by any class, no matter the spec.
You`re just another thief wannabe pro who just spills crap on the forum trying to defend their garbage class. Go in wvw and tell me how well you can fight a thief when you only get to see them for 2 seconds because of Anets crappy engine.
You also mention that thieves are the only ones allowed to wear berserker gear… this just goes to show how clueless and biased you are.
PS – A conditioner is something that improves the quality of another material. I doubt condition damage has anything to do with that)

As a necro specced for toughness/condition damage I dont have survival problems against thieves. They cannot kill me BUT quite often i cannot kill them either unless they`re dumb enough to step into one on my aoe`s. Theoretically i should be able to atleast get some dots running, but because of anets crappy engine issues a normal fight is kinda like this:
- i start taking damage out of nowhere, usually loosing about 10k hp by the time the thief renders
- i place like 3-4 bleeds
- i try to cast an aoe cripple, a spell which is not instant and has a cast time
- thief vanishes before i finish casting
- i start placing marks on the ground hoping he will land in one
- fight resets
Now you may think this is balanced or whatever, however, i mostly manage to survive those lame combos by speccing heavily into defence. Not all classes/specs have this luxury.
You guys keep mentioning D/D eles, but you seem to forget that you can SEE where the elementalist is going and what it is doing. A d/d ele requires quite a bit of work to be effective compared to a thief and its not abusing the lame culling bug.
As a small experiment i went into wvw last night (i play on the Far Shiverpeaks server) and wrote down which classes i encountered.
Out of the first 20 people, 11 were thieves. Is it normal ? You judge this yourself.
Imho a solution to this would be to make stealth break on a certain amount of damage. A lot of other mmo`s are using this mechanic and it works fine.
As for mesmer portal bombing, the fix should be rather simple, let only the mesmer`s party use the portal or limit the number of people that can go through. This will prevent zergs from doing the garbage many call “strategy” atm.
