Get 20 stacks of bleeds use plague signet – 1 button.
Anyway, caltrops take their time to stack bleeds and you can only stack about 8 stacks.
You will never ever apply 20 stacks of bleed with just caltrops.
I was talking about “generating” 20 stacks with one ability. Plague signet is situational and bugged, in other words it relies on other players and most of the time it doesnt “transfer” it just copies their conditions. Let`s say i`m alone, please tell me how i can get that many bleeds that fast…

How is the fact that a necro literally standing in one spot spamming aoes on a point able to kill an entire team by themselves in a matter of seconds not broken?
How is the fact that if that necro is not dealt with immediately, your team will lose the team fight 100% of the time not broken?
I wonder why every team is now running at least one necro……?
Also, I would much rather steal your off global cooldown, single target instant fear over this clunky AOE fear that can be easily interrupted and lost forever.

Honestly mate, I dont care how many tournaments you won, or how good you or others think you are, but a necro sitting on a point, killing an entire team in seconds ? Really? You`re either

B – part of a team where everyone is afk
C – part of a team where every player has a maximum of 500 hp

Lets talk about staff ele and staff necros shall we? am I the only one who hasnt forgetten both of these classes absolutly destroy people standing on a node? your entire skill line up is aoe that cover the entire node!!! Stop crying about thief cause they have 1 AOE you nubs dont know how to counter

Lets do a comparison, since you`re talking crap about classes you have no clue of:
Mark of Blood
The only necro staff aoe that applies bleeds (only 3 stacks) has a base radius of 120 (caltrops has 240 and it also cripples) and once triggered its gone, unlike the thief skill which stays on the ground preventing players from entering the area.
Besides, last i checked my necro couldnt apply 20 bleeds using 1 button in such a short time.

Stealth should break on damage. This will actually solve a lot of the problems people are having.
I hope they fix the bugged stealth in wvw soon also, thieves had it easymode for for quite enough already.

I honestly hope that thieves and bunkers get nerfed into the ground. You guys had your fun with the obscene burst specs, the stealth in wvw, and other unintended or unfair advantages.
Why all the tears and the hate, OP, scared that you`re going to have to l2p now?
To be honest I dont know which ones cry more, the glass cannons that get burst down in 2 seconds or the equally bad thieves trying to defend their 1 button spam fotm spec.

Well besides some balancing and class mechanic bugs, Necromancers have been shafted beyond hope and all viable specs are either crit or condition builds, mostly condition builds which makes speccing dull for the most part. The largest problem keeping GW2 out of any real Esport status is the stupid downed state abilities, and not all downed state abilities are created equal, Warriors have what I refer to as the “do over” resurection bs button , then thieves and mesmers with their endless BS then all the other abilities are not so bad. Some specs are better at finishing off downed players usually heavy armored melee characters with high stability. Which basically means all downed state is, is a way for people to get kill steals off you in pvp matches and screws ranged characters who basically have to try and dps they prey down before he is staked.
I cant figure out why the even implemented it.
I like the downed mechanic it’s annoying but adds a whole level of strategy… also lol necro’s have the MM builds which will own any other class hands down which do not use condition or crit damage and are OP as kitten and I’m more than willing to demonstrate if u so desire
Are you a troll? Because if you`re not then you just full of crap mate. Your “op MM necro” will get stomped by any decent player regardless of class.
If you`re so “willing to demonstrate” as you said, please make a video so we can all see the wonders you perform on your buggy pos MM necro.

I figure once they nerf out class into the ground, I’ll be onto another game hopefully. Least I enjoyed the long awaited GW2 (and massively delayed) to come to this

Good players will adapt. This is true. However, they should be expanding options that are available at the mid-high range, not narrowing them. Thieves already have so few.
I totally agree with you man, but lets not forget that thieves are not the only class with problems that need to be fixed. I realize it takes a while to balance stuff in a MMO like GW2 and I think that ANET should not listen to either camp (the “thieves are OP” camp and some of the people playing thief that are scared of a nerf) but find more of a middle ground. Adding a slight cooldown to some abilities or something that would prevent the spamming of the same skill over and over could work. Maybe i`m wrong, I am not a game developer, but I hope ANET has the people with the necessary experience to fix this.
I do not agree with some of the the posts that just state “L2dodge”, “Use a stun breaker” or my fav. “Dont spec glass cannon”. I`m not running a glass cannon but I also do not find it normal that i have to run a certain spec all the time when i pvp just to be prepared to face a thief. The amount of effort it takes to counter a thief is disproportionate to the amount of work he/she has to do in order to down someone.
People arguing that the thief is a “dps/assassin/whatever class” tend to forget that ANET is not sticking by the “holy trinity” that we find in other games.

You should take all 30 points from Spite and place them in Death magic. That way you will get more toughness and better usage out of your staff. I`d pick II, V and VII from the Death Magic line, but you can play around with it to suit your play style.
Getting carrion gear is a good way to start for a build like this, but later on at 80 you will have to probably switch to precision/toughness/condition damage. Most cond builds have a high survivability thus allowing them to survive untill a good number of dots start ticking on your targets. Once you feel comfortable with it you can start pulling more and more mobs and if you find that you`re not resilient enough, try switching Corrosive Poison Cloud for Spectral Armor or Well of Darkness which will help a lot when fighting lots of (preferably melee) mobs.
When you have a lot of toughness, you can switch your runes to superior runes of the undead.

Last i checked, positioning for backstab required work as long as the target doesn’t start acting like a mob and stands there scratching his head when he can’t see the thief but obviously took dmg.
The difficulty level must be insanely high. I can only imagine the stress and the tension you guys must endure.

Funny to see that is always thieves yelling “L2P”, “Just dodge noob”. Well, i hate to break it to you guys, but the build that most of the thieves are using atm is the same cheesy burst build that they just copied from others. And I hope you all agree with me that it doesnt take much skill to run around killing pretty much anything that is not a bunker in a few hits. How much skill does that take ? It takes considerable more effort to achieve the same results on a necro, ele or engi for example (i`m playing a necro so i`m maybe biased).
The one who actually need to L2P are the players who just rolled a thief because its the current fotm, and this ended up giving a lot of bad rep to the whole thief community.
The guy that started the whole thread even admits that he`s an ele who rerolled to thief for the easymode it provides when specced in a certain way. Now he is probably scared that he will have trouble adapting if his build will get nerfed (which will happen) and he`s just yelling L2P.
Honestly i can`t say i care, atm its a good thing that all the sheep run the same build because once you know what to expect in a fight everything becomes a lot easier.

Remove bleeds entirely from Necro and give us Necrosis stacks instead.

I`m having the same issue. It is really annoying, especially when playing an asura, the shield is clipping, the boots look kitten with some of the toes poking out on the sides, and those are just a few examples. I really hope they can fix at least a few of those problems.

I`m still reluctant to belive Anet`s so called “transparency” when they cannot even bother to give us a clue about upcoming fixes (if they`re even working on any).

The whole concept that the game is balanced around tournaments is rather flawed. How many of the player base run around in tPvP ? 20% ? maybe 30%? I suppose that the rest of the players are also entitled to a rather balanced playing enviroment. Lately in sPvP all the bads rolled thieves because of how lame and easy is to burst down others. I have been playing ele, necro, engi and guardian and none of them (when specced as a glass cannon) can do as much damage as a thief. Since arenanet wanted to stay away from the whole concept of dps/healer/tank the idea that the thief is somehow supposed to do almost double the damage that most of the other classes do is flawed.
Regarding the L2P issue, it is easier said than done. The reaction time of the average player combined with the limited number of dodges one can do, the mobility and gap closers thieves have makes it rather hard to survive most of the encounters against an average thief player. I hope you guys had your fun, and I do not mean to disrespect any of the dedicated players out there that actually enjoy the thief class but you have to realize that the burst is a bit over the top.
The game is rather new and I do realize it takes a while for things to even out between classes, I just hope we get to a relative balance soon.
