Guild Wars 2

As an off spec I run a Vipe/Sinister set. I mainly use the meta GS/LB, or Hammer power build. I get bored sometimes though and like to run other builds for fun and variety.

My question is about my damage output.

I’m able to do 8-10k burn ticks easy. Then I can get 16-24k repeated ticks. I rarely get 26k ticks, highest I’ve seen.

I also get 800-3k Bleeds with Earth Sigil, and Geomancy Sigil.

I’m just wondering if this is ok damage.

This is in Fractals and Dungeons mainly by the way.

Does anyone else think it’s WAY too early for one? They have a lot to add and fix with HoT.

I feel they have too many devs split working on the Expansion.

All we get is “eventually”, “one day”, “soon”, etc, etc, etc.

Most of the AMA didn’t really say anything other than how you are working on a lot, and promising a lot. We have no idea what you all are doing. All we know is that a raid wing comes out next week.

Fractals, WvW, Dungeons, etc were not really talked about. Every single one of these were answered as basically, “we might be doing something”.

If you’re all really this busy, then where is the content? What plate is full? We have no real info.

All we can do is wait, and wait some more, until we give up, then move onto something else.

We need dates so we can actually have something to look forward to. Right now, there really isn’t anything to look forward to. It’s just going to be more waiting.

You have to put your ad up, then edit it fast, or people will join based on your old ad.

Say I was doing 2, 4,10. I did 2 and 4, but someone left. I try putting up an ad for just 10, but it says 2, 4, 10 again. I then have someone join when trying to edit it fast to 10.

This person then leaves due to the group not doing 2, 4, and causes the same problem again.

This is very frustrating and inconvient. It’s been like this all week. :/

Rampagers is Precision main.

If you wanted the most condition damage, Rabid would be the most condition damage. However, if you’re trying to avoid all toughness, then Rampagers would be the easiest choice.

EDIT: Carrion probably the best choice.

So I should make the Carrion Ascended back? I thought Rampager’s might be best.

Would missing out on Precision with Carrion make a difference?

Is Rampager’s best if you don’t have access to the Sinister back item?

Well, if you see broken or weird textures it’s mostly at your end. Try to repair your game and see if it helps. Not all issues are devs fault, at times it’s something that went wrong at our end as well.

About broken armor, falling through geometry and others, well, those are issues at their side indeed.

Everyone says to repair my game, when I have already. People I play with see the same glitches and texture issues. I’m not crazy and just seeing things ;n;

For example – there was a time when emotes were working until a patch 2 years ago broke it. When you used /dance /sit /sleep etc (perma emotes) other Players could see you dancing, sitting or sleeping when entered the range or logged in next to you.
Writing tickets never helped so far and especially RPers are very annoyed about that never-fixed bug anet made with one of the messy patches long ago.

As an Asura my favorite armor mix I made is bugged now. I’m still salty ;n;

I’ve been working on world completion again. I keep coming across broken textures, buggy walls, flicking ground bugs, jumping puzzle bugs, getting my character stuck in odd places, etc.

Armor bugs(one of the worst)

What’s the deal? Is it too hard to fix these or something? My first time doing map completion at the start of the game did not look like this. There were no texture glitches like this.

Do you not care about the amazing world you have made?

I just wish you’d put the time into fixing bugs, armor sets, and jumping puzzles.

Even Guild Missions are bugged in some areas.

Yet again! Another set ruined by bugs. This is getting ridiculous. Does the team not model sets well for Charr and Asura? We have endless amounts of clipping, see through areas, etc.

I spent 150g on buying this set, and from the back, you can see through my waist. I basically see everything in front of me through a huge crack where the back of my waist is.

I found even more armor sets with red lines and dots that have appeared since a recent bug fix patch.

What is the deal? Am I going to have to quit seriously over not being able to wear a not bugged set?

Every patch seems to break your game further, and further.

I would ask to fix this, and other Charr/Asura clipping and see through bugs, but you have the same bugs that have been in the game since the begining.

I’m just coming to the realization that you simply do not care about your game now. You just really don’t know how to fix it.

I know this won’t be dealt with, but I’m upset I wasted time and gold again getting hyped for a set that is yet again BUGGED.

I love my Asura. I love the world. I love Guardian animations. For the most part I love my armor, but a recent bug made me switch that made me sad a bit.

I love Fractals, and dungeons. I really love the lore, and settings.

I just simply love a lot about the game, but sometimes I just feel a sort of neglect like feeling at times. As of lately it seems staff are more quiet than ever on the forums. I don’t remember it ever being this bad.

Being someone that cares a lot about people, I hate seeing people upset, or sad, etc. The expansion seems to have let a lot of people down, which I understand, but no devs or staff have really come out with answers to our cries. This just feels like neglect, and it hurts honestly.

I don’t really have anything else to say. I’m just wondering if anyone else feels the same?

I think they are trying. I just think they have really bad coders. It’s shown in all the random model bugs, to this sort of thing. They hired inexperienced people. So this is what you get from that. :/

There are red dots, and red textures on a lot of parts to this set. This was not here before a patch. I wear this set, and spent $50 buying the original Guild Wars 1, and it’s expansions for this armor set. I hope it is made aware to the bug team. This bug is horrible to me, and makes me honestly want to stop playing.

Can a dev say if they know about this or not so I can calm down? :/

Hammer has highest sustained (over time) dps and brings protection.

Thats what makes it good for raids because it reduces damage and the boss has extremely high health to let that sustained dps build up.

In anything else I cant really see using it because its so slow, highly telegraphed and requires you & targets to stand in one spot to make use of the symbol.

So for Fractals and Dungeons GS/Bow is better?

For PvE assasins earings and accuracy sigils are optimal. If you check the metabattle articles for the main guardian builds which are written by snow crows or the guide on dulfy they will tell you the same.

I doubt that anybody who says air sigils are better ever did the math on it. Obviously that only applies to PvE. In PvP on crit procs are superior to passive stat boosts because your DPS uptime isn’t half as high.

What makes them optimal?

Depends what you want to use it for, however it can work with mace, greatsword or bow depending on your build.

In general the hammer is ungodly slow, and the constant light fields can often override fields that are better.

In PvE it can have uses due to constant protection, tho it still feels extremely slow.

In PvP the only real good thing about it is mighty blow due to that skill having a low Cd and decent damage.
everything else is either extremely easily countered by stability & teleports or far to slow to get use out of vs intelligent players.

What would a PvE Build look like for Hammer/Bow then :S

Or Does Hammer only really work with Mace? Just wondering.

DPS is an umbrella term that applies to doing damage to a boss/enemy to die. It is a roll that fits in with the trinity system, but in this game DPS is something that every profession does.

I don’t think you know what sarcastic means. I’m inclined to agree with his response; the only thing insulting to read is how pretentious your post is.

I think you need to read the definitions of sarcasm and pretentious. Then read his post again, and mine. He basically talked down on the game, and then made some sarcastic comments that could be mixed with being passive aggressive. To top it off then, his reply to me summed up his attitude. My reply was defending the game and telling him how he chose how to vent poorly, and that this type of thread did not need to be made.

I told him they could tank in raids, but he was in a dungeon.

Inserting a 3 boss raid that allows different uses of profession mechanics and gear options, does not mean the game overall is going to be reflected of what raids are.

Trying to tank in a dungeon like you would in a raid would not work well, and just slow things down. I know because I’ve tried doing what he’s said before. It’s just simply something that you can’t really do in this game.

Every class having a melee and ranged weapon is optimal. You’re crippling yourself if you don’t have DH traited, and use a bow, or if you don’t use a Scepter as a back up ranged weapon. This game is about being versatile and meeting certain group needs. If you can’t do that, then yes. This game is not for you.

I usually change things anyway, but when you’re new to a class, builds can explain the play styles of the class and how to succeed at doing your job the best.

Ranger comes off as a support/DPS class. It seems pretty active. I currently play a Guardian, so I wanted to make Ranger my second class.

I guess the only thing I wonder is if pets are really as important as people say they are. Like, I’d want to use a Snow Owl.

I’d like to use the Greatsword with Longbow, but it’s whatever. Might find a build like that.

I have HoT, but won’t have Druid maxed for a while.

There is a cap of combined Monthly and Dailies at 15,000 achievement points and you will no longer gain the 10 for dailies after you reach the cap. Can ANET raise this cap or is there a reason why veteran players should be penalized for completing all the dailies and achievement hunting? Im not at the cap but in 10 days, I will be. I have a few friends on my contacts list that have a friendly competition on holding top achievement points and once the cap is reached we are forced into other areas of the game that we dont necessarily have fun playing. For instance, a friend has 25,937 and has had that for the last 3 months because of the cap. He doesnt have HOT, which does encourage him to get it for points but he completes dailies and receives the rewards, just not the achievement points. He was 2K ahead of me when HOT was release and IM currently at 27,146. My rival is at 27,454 but in 10 days, I might as well say goodbye.

What are your thoughts?
