I got an exotic named sword, exotic shoulders, exotic 20 slot bag, exotic super sexy accessory, a couple rares and I got to participate in a one time only epic adventure!
Pretty spectacular
Ok seeya. Have fun with those dailies.
And pandas. ew.
Blizzard be working the GW2 forums hard. They must be getting worried
Simple.
If it is affecting playerS, then group with those other players.
If it is only you in all of Tyria that has an issue, well then it sounds like a personal problem – not the game.
Anyone have any ideas?
Thinking about purchasing the minis from the TP but this looks like a gem store offering.
This item is on gw2db and shows that it has all 3 new mini pets.

The question is, where do you get this???
You completely missed the point. What if I wanted the armor you got from vendors after taking control of the statues? Well SOL because no one does that content anymore.
Also, ANET is funneling people into new content by making it the only place to get the best gear. This means that dungeons that were already harder to find a group for , because of lack of popularity, will be nearly impossible to find groups for in the future because everyone will be chasing after the new best stat gear in the game.
I disagree, you are missing the point.
Even if the new dungeon did not offer rings and mats for a backpiece, people would still be running the new dungeon because it’s NEW, it’s FUN and it’s a CRAZY REVOLUTIONARY CONCEPT for a dungeon.
If people still need a helm, shoulder, chest, gloves, legs, boots, main hand, off hand, accessories or amulet, they will run the old content to get them. If they don’t need them, why would they run the old content? People would stop running it anyway once they got their items, correct?
That aside, it was already impossible to find people to complete the temple DEs in Orr most days. Now it will be even harder since Fractals offer better rewards; new gear that will be required for future content + random drops.
So they should never add new content because people will want to play with the new content?
Fractals only drop rings and some mats to make a backpiece.
People will still need kit out their gear with exotics from other dungeons or crafting.
So much drama.
My point is, that if it’s as easy to obtain ascended gear as AnemoneMeer says, then why would people hit 80 and aim for exotics when they can buy some cheap rares and spend a small amount of time making their own ascended gear and skip exotics all together
Because you’d be naked?
2 rings (random drops in the dungeon) and a backpack doesn’t offer much protection against the elements.
This post touches exactly on the exhilaration I feel tonight after doing Fractals

Hard to explain to someone that doesn’t play why I am gushing over a dungeon, haha.
No other way to explain it than It’s an experience.
I am quite in awe. Hats off, ArenaNet – you outdid yourselves <3
Very impressed with this dungeon – the art, the concepts, the challenge and the fun.
Kudos to the creative masterminds that put this together – Bravo!
I love that they added the jump puzzle aspect to FotM. A big reason why I always liked the mini-dungeons, so many of them have it.
I wasn’t very good when I started doing them either but just practice – on anything, fenceposts, rocks, w/e. There’s a small easy one in LA, northeast behind the waterfall – takes less than 2 minutes and you get a chest. I’ve even gotten a rare from that chest!
Couple tips:
The longer you hold your space bar, the farther you jump.
You can steer in mid-air with your strafe keys.
For long jumps use a speed buff.
I have to agree, ANet really delivered on this – fun, challenging & gorgeous!
Best dungeon in the game so far – so much fun!
I’ve played WoW literally to death, to the point that my involvement in it’s pve experience amounts to exploitation of something I know so intimately well that I might as well be a bot. It’s now so kitten fugly that even I, someone who generally isn’t all that bothered about high graphic fidelity, can never go back to that lumpen, etch-a-sketch world, not after Tyria anyway.
I’m not an Eve sort of player, though I do admire what it does for sure. I’m just not driven enough and I don’t have even remotely the amount of time required to succeed in that game, and I don’t like it’s setting anyway.
That leaves the former P2Ps that have gone FTP (the purpose built FTPs almost universally suck imho), and since I played most of them when they had a sub and didn’t like them enough to stick with them, I can think of no possible reason why I’d want to play them over GW2. They weren’t that hot when they were subbed, nothing about not being subbed makes that any less the case.
That leaves me with GW2. I’m enjoying it immensely. But then I’m at a time in my life when the things it offers me are hitting my sweet spot. I can quite understand that the more careerist MMO gamer is looking for something that will hit their’s, though I humbly submit that such a game simply does not exist in the genre.
Well said.
I quit WoW long before I found GW2, there is nothing that GW2 can or cannot do that would tempt me to go back to WoW.
If I were to choose to stop playing GW2, I have a huge list of gaming and non-gaming things to do – WoW doesn’t even make it to the bottom of that list.
I too am enjoying GW2 immensely, as are my friends. The art, the music, the exploration, the puzzles, the easter eggs hidden throughout the game – they all appeal to me in a visceral way that no other game has ever done.
It’s like playing art. Fun art.
They make plenty enough with just the box sales to fund the development and maintain the servers for years.
Other companies are just greedy rip-offs charging monthly fees, it’s really not needed.
This is one reason why there was so many people in the pre-purchase headstart launch – upping your chances of getting that one of a kind name
WvW is a great place to try it out.
1. Stay with the group – that’s the green dots on your map.
2. Use a range weapon.
3. Focus on staying alive rather than doing damage at first – same as PvE, move out of the red circles.
4. Before you know it you’ll see that big red Finish Them! button and you’ll be hooked
Dying isn’t terrible and it will happen. Just use the waypoint and run back to a group.
Yes, the population changes throughout the day, even on the full servers.
You may have to watch for it very late at night/very early in the morning on the full servers to catch an opening – transfer quick if you see one!
If it’s anything like the scale of the Halloween event, I fully expect to be blown away
So excites!
I am constantly amazed and appreciative of all the content that ArenaNet so freely gives us.
The game is gorgeous and more fun to play than any other MMO I’ve tried.
ArenaNet, know that you have a loyal fanbase that loves the game.
OP, you cannot use runes or sigils in the 2 rings and the backpiece they are adding.
You are fine.
Greetings!
Just want to discuss a growing problem that I’m seeing in Lion’s Arch as the population grows. It use to be that standing on the bank steps I could see all the players around the Mystic Forge and clear up to running up the ramp to the fountain area and over to the bank area.
Then the area where I was able to see other players started shrinking to where if I watched a player running over the arced bridge leading up to the ramp, they would blip out of existence about halfway across the bridge. Could no longer see players on the ramp.
Then the area got even smaller and I could no longer see players standing on the other side of the Mystic Forge.
Then the area got even tinier and I could no longer see players below the ledge.
Today I noticed that I can no longer see players unless I am standing practically on top of them. I was running towards the Trading Post from the Bank and players bleeped in and out of existence as I passed them by.
I know this is a high class problem related to the growth of the game but would love some word on if and when this would be addressed, either through an improvement in tech or by having a smaller cap on the server populations and opening some new servers.
Btw – I love the game, it’s the best MMORPG I’ve ever played. The community is outstanding, the art is amazing and the game concepts are so refreshing and fun to play. Truly impressed with everything you’ve done and appreciate all the work the ANet people have put into the game
That’s because there are no queues in GW2. If the area you log into is at max capacity players for your server, you are moved into overflow.
You generally don’t encounter overflows in map zones since everyone is spread out around the world, only in Lion’s Arch.
We’ve discovered that you can get in the MK realm through a regular haunted door. It seems they have a 1 in 10 chance of spawning the portal.
Go up to a regular door, hit the “Trick or Treat” key, if it offers a portal an “Enter” key will immediately pop up.
There’s a place on our server in Gendarren Fields where 3 doors spawn very close to each other, just north of the Brigatine Waypoint, two on the beach and one on the hill. Get in pretty quickly now, give it a shot!
On Sanctum of Rall, the escort events just keep repeating yet the door portals never spawn.
Cannot do Clock Tower.
Cannot do Labyrinth.
Btw, I concur with the majority on this thread, VERY impressed!!
Well done, ArenaNet
Yeah, but I thought we were getting a major content update. The game’s been out a while now, right? Turns out, the Halloween event IS the content update? Then nothing but more little tweaks and nerfs until Christmas?
Except they’re unveiling something in November, too.
As for the Halloween content being content, well. Look at it all—that’s a lot for just a holiday. And for a new game that’s pretty much still outta the gate.
I do realize that, it is a lot of content for a holiday event.. unless its all the content we’re getting. In that case.. it’d better be a lot, right? but even still, not sure it was such a good idea for them to forego permanent content, in order to make temporary content, instead?
What’s this about more coming in November, though?
They did add a ton of permanent content in the Halloween patch. Mini dungeons, jump puzzles and achievements. Oh, and Costume Brawl is here to stay.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1213tk/new_explorer_and_jumping_puzzle_achievement/
I haven’t had a chance to run most of it yet, but Vexa’s Lab was particularly enjoyable and the garden jump puzzle in Maelstrom is gorgeous.
I’ve been following the decay of the fountain closely and noticed that as the Spectral Energy Levels on the Paranormal Disturbance Zone increase, the corruption and decay escalates.
The globe beneath the lion is quite lumpy now, I expect all manner of hell to pour forth from it today.

Just did Troll’s End and zipped right thru it. Normally I would struggle in the tight areas in the cavern, world of difference!
I didn’t even think I had an issue, this is a great change

I just ran Weydant’s Revenge and the difference is amazing! So far so good, gonna try Troll’s End.
Judging from the state of the fountain and after reading the book quests I have come to one conclusion.
We all gonna die.
Support tickets are only for account issues. I did send an email to exploits@arena.net yesterday but it’s still happening.
You can’t report them, they don’t show a player name.
It’s getting out of control. Please help Arenanet peoples.

Any word on getting the music please?
It will continue past the Halloween event according to the news post explaining the costume brawl.
Halloween costumes will be unavailable to purchase once Halloween is over, but the brawl will continue to work and the fun will go on with existing costumes and tonics. If it’s popular, we plan on supporting it with even more toys, more transforms, and more features!

Awesome! I completely missed that – ty!
Pweeeez?
Love this mini-game so much!
Halloween music not playing for me either.
I listened to the sound files on the facebook page and it sounds great, would like to hear it in game.
I have an Nvidia card if that helps.
Thousands of us just tried to update…go figure
More like millions
I got the error for a couple minutes but downloading now.

Bleh, terrible system. They completely destroyed server communities with it and now it’s spread like a disease throughout the whole game. They have the worst gaming community because of that awful system.
If you want to play WoW, go play WoW. This is GW2.
The vast majority of players I meet in game are thrilled with the GW2 conceptualization of a MMORPG.
A very small vocal minority is making a fuss on forums, most of them referring to WoW’s gamestyle.
What we need to remember is less than 10% of WoW’s playerbase raids. Knowing this you start to understand the motives behind these game bashing posts that pick apart every single aspect of the game.
The game is doing great, the worlds are packed with players. Just ignore the haters, they have a different agenda.
Sounds like you need to join a guild.
I’m looking forward, myself, to seeing Mad Queen Malafide return. (She made a spectacular departure from the world of GW1 at Halloween 2010, with the promise that she’d return at Halloween in GW2. Note; This is a well-known GW1 player, not a NPC, who used to host a whole day’s worth of events at Lion’s Arch back in GW1 days. Her only drawback is that she can’t stand mesmers, and my main is a mesmer. I’ll have to attend on my warrior alt in case she shows up. :P )
I have met Mad Queen Malafide. She lives on Sanctum of Rall.
Quite the delightful creature, she regales me with tales of her dead husband.
