Guild Wars 2

GW2 has certainly spoiled me from other MMOs. While it’s not perfect (no game is), they’ve just done so many things right.

I won’t even consider MMOs that have gear treadmills or loot master/loot roll type systems, and if they don’t have what I now consider basic character customizations that I’ve come to expect with GW2 such as expansive dye systems, wardrobes, and the account bound equipment, armors and currencies just make it so darn alt friendly! Also I love the open world feel of GW2, the epic meta events and cooperative nature incorporated into the very design of the game has made for one of the best online player experiences I’ve ever had.

So yes, GW2 is the best MMO for me

According to Snowreap’s calculations it’s a tossup whether you or SoS will roll a T2 match this week – may the RNG be ever in your favor!

After you defeat the Mouth of Mordremoth, updrafts will appear that will allow you to glide to Dragon’s Domain where the vendor is. Here’s a vid, the dragon dies at 9:20 and you can watch the player gliding to Dragon’s Domain, looting the chest, then visiting the vendor where the Mistward Helm Insignia is sold.

Hey Bakes, I finished the Auric weapon collection last month so just to double check…

When you purchased the recipe, did you receive the recipe in your inventory? It kinda looks almost like a leaf fossil icon. If you did, you must doubleclick it to learn it, that consumes the recipe item and it should then appear in your crafting list of recipes.

IMPORTANT – you must consume the recipe with the character that can craft it – so for the warhorn you would need to be on your character that has Huntsman crafting. Say if you bought the recipe with a character that does not have Huntsman, you can put it in your bank so your Huntsman can pick it up to learn it.

Another important note! You can contact support and they can help you sort this out, I had to contact them because I inadvertantly purchased the same recipe 2x, they could not refund me the Aurillium, but they did allow me to pick another item from the Aurillium vendor list which they mailed to me.

2) Updrafts should be very limited or non-existent. The point of the addition of gliding in Core Tyria should be because it can be added, not that it is a required mechanic; because it’s not. Updrafts were put in the jungle to help you climb as a sometimes necessary mechanic. It could be explained away as the jungle being the only place capable of causing updrafts.

Downdrafts could be used to limit access to certain areas, but a few strategically placed updrafts near the Wizard’s Tower in Kessex Hills would be amazing!

I ran into this issue a couple days ago where the veterans would not spawn. I guested to another map and was able to get the kill and mastery point.

I did put in a bug report, although I’m not sure if the mob spawning is related to the event progress on the map or if there are maps where it’s bugged.

Regarding today’s reveal of the 2 min invisibility buff for teams that hold SMC to T3, I think it may give an even greater advantage to the stronger server in a match, exacerbating runaway scores and snowbally matches.

Have you folks considered giving this buff to the Outnumbered team? If they were Outnumbered for >2hours?

The events are fine and well suited for low level players in low level areas. It’s the reward structure that’s borked.

I imagine many players would like to get some S1 rewards they missed either because they couldn’t play at that time or did not own the game then, but with the low drop rate on the Blooms (25-30 per hour) and the high cost of some of the rewards (450 for a Selfless or Thoughtless potion), it feels very unfair- unattainable even.

Maybe if you folks approached it from the “Knowing that the average PvE player plays 12 hours per week, what rewards would we like our players to get for this one-time, over the weekend event?”, then you could plan the drop rates accordingly?

Recommendations:
1. Have the blooms drop for each event, rather than just the last event in the cycle.
2. Scale the rewards for the casual player (what could a player get in 2 or 3 hour sessions).
3. Remove the gold cost from the reward. No gold or saleable items drop during the event, the reward should not cost gold.
4. Have other loot drop during the event – make it fun!

I think the Marionette event had a good reward system. Fighting the waves in the lanes dropped loot, big chest at the end AND you got keys to open the hidden chests in Scarlet’s Lair. More like this please.

It would appear that T1’s “talent” is to double team and supply troll. At one point last night YB with 50+ deep queues on all maps we could only hold 1 camp on our borderlands. Meanwhile a supply troll was building flame rams along the upper wall of the only tower we were holding in EBG.

If I had to guess, they are looking at any number or combination of factors which may or may not include the following:
Number of players
Number of player hours
Hours in queue
Amount of Exp rewarded
Etc.

I would guess that they use a rolling average since Mr. Loretan said, “The goal is a better balance, but not a too sudden disruption either” and I imagine they would want to smooth out any momentary/temporary spikes.

I also think that it re-calculates on a weekly basis, since I have been checking it on a daily basis and only seeing server status changes once per week. Btw, here are my findings so far:

There’s something like 40 JPs in the game that have no PvP, only the WvW JPs have this added playstyle for players that enjoy the challenge. Also consider that Obsidian Sanctum has the GvG area.

If you truly want to complete this particular JP without PvPing yourself, I recommend bringing along some friends that can help you with the PvP part. Or simply use the Mystic Fountains located throughout the puzzle to stealth through

Population (while a contributing factor on the lowest tiers) does not determine position on the leaderboards.

Bigger factors would be strength, knowledge and cunning of your commanders, how well they coordinate across the maps and SEA/OCX coverage.

Also another thing to note is the top 6 servers are currently glicko-locked into their matches – no amount of jostling in the lesser tiers would move them into those brackets.

I think something that some new players may miss on first glance is the achievement section on the Hero pane. This really is a content guide as it directs you to all the different things to do in the game, from the 3 different modes (PvE, PvP, WvW), to all the Living Story, activities, jumping puzzles, collections, etc.

Ever since I saw this vid, this happens every time my reward chests start wiggling.

Gathering is great for underlevels, here’s a picture guide for the “rich” node spots. Also anything cloth (specifically Linen, next best Cotton) is very good.

Look, I don’t have much time. I’m pretty sure a black SUV has followed me home from work. I come with bearing a message of great importance. Anet have been spreading chemtrails in Queensdale to brainwash the player base into thinking the meta is stable.

I can’t stress enough how wrong this is.

The meta is changing at an alarming rate and there is NOTHING that we can do about it. All we can do is brace ourselves and hope for the best. By the time this message reaches you the meta will have changed, according to my calculations, at least 4.5 times. It is growing, it is expanding and it is infiltrating our computers. It won’t be long before the meta is playing itself causing everyone to slip into a pseudo meta light spectrum 7th dimension in which no strats are viable.

I need to go. I need to get my family out of this town before they get to us. No comp is safe.

The ragtime theme song that plays at character death is brilliant. I also noticed on the character select screen, first you have the normal full orchestration, then when you enter the game the music goes a bit tinny for a minute or so – really giving the vibe of an old gramophone playing it.

It’s all the little things like this that make a great event – Thank-you for continuing to take such special care and provide us with a truly entertaining experience!
