Grats YPC, what would you say was the most difficult part of getting it?
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/info/news/Game-Update-Notes-December-3-2012
Lots of bug fixes <3
Over 3 months after launch and it’s still the top selling MMORPG on Amazon.
I agree with pretty much everyone here, Fix the Current Game, Balance the Classes better, then deal with new content..
Content is wonderful but when you cannot even play it due to bugs that do not get fixed, it just angers your customers.
Balance is actually pretty good right now.
Of course there’s a few bugs (to be expected in any major launch) but they’ve been really good at addressing them. The game is so good it’s worth the patience while they get these couple pesky ones dealt with.
“But January and February are actually are biggest updates to date. They’re even bigger than all the stuff we did in October, November and December. And I think that when people see how much stuff they’re gonna get for no monthly fee in January and February, they’re probably going to be blown away. These two months combined are basically an expansion’s worth of content for free.”
An expansion’s worth of content for free – the value of this game just continues to get even more amazing
Tequatl the Sunless has the worst breath :P
But speaking of Elder Dragons…
The Crucible of Eternity entrance is a hexagon, each room represents one of the Elder Dragons.
Fire – Primordus
Crystals – Kralkatorrik
Bones – Zhaitan
Ice – Jormag
Water – unnamed deep sea dragon dubbed “Bubbles” by the fans
….then there is the 6th room. The forest room.
When you kill the mini-boss in that room, he spits out a code.
But first, let’s take a look at how the Elder Dragons raise their armies. They can corrupt any uncorrupted form of life, we see corrupted versions of every race – Branded Charr, Icebrood Quaggan, Risen Asura, etc. Every race but one.
We have a new race in GW2, a young race, a race that is concerned with the Elder Dragons from the moment they are “born”…….
The code the mini-golem boss gives in the final room of the Crucible translates
to P-A-L-E-T-R-E-E
More purchases than expected, bigger and more popular than expected, used 90% of bandwidth at peak over November patch weekend – Crazy popular!
And did he just throw down the gauntlet at WoW?
Greetings fellow traveler!
I would like to point out that the items you are looking for, lodestones and t6 mats are RARE items. They do not drop readily, are not easily farmable and they never have been since the game launched.
Let’s look at t6 mats. Vials of Powerful Blood for example.
There are certain types of mobs that drop blood: Skelks, Bats, Trolls, etc. The lower level mobs drop the lower level bloods while the higher level mobs drop the higher bloods. If you want to farm the rare t6 blood, farm the mobs that regularly drop the t5 – this will give you a CHANCE at the rare t6 drop. Also note that the new mobs they added to the game in the last patch, the Young Karka, also drop blood.
Now after you’ve farmed these fellows for awhile you will find significantly more t5 blood in your bag than t6. This is because t6 is RARE.
What you can do is sell your excess t5 mats on the Trading Post and use that gold to purchase t6 from other players that have listed them on the Trading Post or you can use the t5 mats in a Mystic Forge recipe that creates a random amount of t6 mats.
Here are the best places to look for mobs that drop the mats and Mystic Forge recipes to transmute t5:

This is what everyone is doing, what everyone has been doing since the game launched.
Happy Hunting!
According to Xfire, every single game in the top 10 is falling.
Every.
One.Except they’re not? Did you even look?
I did, did you?
All the games have weekend spikes but week over week they all are falling.
Indicates fewer people using xfire.
Everywhere I go the game is packed. Starting zones, Lion’s Arch, WvW, dragon events. Just finished doing a Claw of Jormag in Frostgorge, there was over a hundred people there.
There’s a couple zones that don’t get much traffic – places like Iron Marches or Brisban Wildlands. Some more world boss events (with timers please <3 ) would fix that right up
I think it’s spectacular, best MMO I’ve ever played
So in other words, you should avoid jumping puzzles until 80?
Why? You get a free chest every day from each jumping puzzle.
You missed a few
Try logging out of the game completely and then running it as administrator after you clear your cache.
That worked for me when I had the same thing happen once.
Big thanks to all the fine people at ArenaNet, most enjoyable MMO experience I’ve ever had
ANet has steadily expanded server capacity since launch.
The queue times for WvW are biggest reason not to increase server caps any more than they already are. As you may be aware, only 2,000 players from each server may participate in WvW at any given time and some servers have very long queues, especially after WvW resets on Friday evening.
Just this last Sunday I queued up for WvW and it took 1 1/2hours to get in. Increasing server capacity would only compound this issue.
I understand your distress but many people have tried to get on Full servers and succeeded, just keep trying – generally very late night, very early morning are the best times to try to get in.
Wishing you Good luck!
They’re plants, they have a right to grow where ever they want
Sylvari propaganda!
(j/k <3)
I’ve noticed they drop more frequently in lower level zones, however looking at gw2spidy demand is FAR exceeding supply with a dramatic dropoff in supply around Nov 5th through Nov 12th. However the volume of trades has steadily increased. It looks like the dyes are being listed and bought up immediately.
http://www.gw2spidy.com/item/20323
Now one thing to keep in mind is that they are used as a component in the legendary staff, The Bifrost (need 250 for Gift of Color).
With roughly 5000 supply at 15s each, that’s 750g. Could someone be manipulating the Unid Dye market? (Note: 5000 Unid Dyes would be enough to make only 20 Bifrost legendaries – TWENTY worldwide.
I know I’ve been hanging on to my dyes rather than listing them. I imagine many others are also.
If I may ask, are the daily’s account wide?. The reason I’am asking is I just completed the daily on my alt switched over to my main which is in Orr and it is showing completed for my main also.
Yes, they are account wide.
I’m sure this is to prevent exploiting by people purchasing additional character slots to procure more of the Jugs of Liquid Karma reward.
That’s what Eurogamer.net said about GW2 in their recent review:
“In fact, Guild Wars 2 is by far the most important – and plain enjoyable – massively multiplayer game since 2004’s World of Warcraft. At long last, it’s the changing of the guard.”
http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-09-18-guild-wars-2-review
We are making history here.
You should take a few classes then and go to PVP where you’ll have access to all the skills and be up leveled to 80. Then you’ll have an opportunity to see what the future of the character is.
This is actually a really great suggestion.
You can go to The Heart of the Mists where your character will be upleveled to 80. You can try out all the traits, skill sets, weapons, builds, runes, sigils and gear at no cost. Practice on the dummies or jump in a hot join PvP match to see how you like it.
One of the very cool features of GW2 is that you get to pick a UNIQUE name, not a name that someone on every server has.
You and only you can have your name.
Of those I’ve only played Elementalist, which is my main.
Ele’s are probably the most challenging profession – they have the most skills with the 4 attunements and quite squishy.
Dagger/Dagger and Scepter/Dagger are really fun to play, very active and situational. You can play off your own combo fields and finishers and stack boons and conditions like mad.
But if you are still liking your Ranger you can play with your friend on that since you would be downscaled to w/e content you are doing. Some of the rewards will be downscaled also though.
these server stats are only counting accounts on each servers.
not actual players logged in at any moment. lol.otherwise you would see a HUGE difference between day and night time, and clearly there isnt.
But they do fluctuate on the time of day.
Many of the FULL servers have high nighttime populations because of WvW – our Aussie & Oceanic players.
On the Wintersday page they added an entry for a January content patch.
Looks like they are keeping up with their promise of more free content than any sub based MMO.
Wonder what it will be?
I’m not sure if they have a set time to roll out new builds, I haven’t seen anything like a regular schedule for it. Underdog is right though, there is no downtime for a new build, you just relog and get the patch.
According to Xfire, every single game in the top 10 is falling.

Weird.
Boy it makes them nervous when they see how well GW2 is doing
I doubt WoW is worried about GW2 Most of the people I came here with are already back and playing and enjoying. But besides that wow is guaranteed a 15 month subscription fee a month regardless of anything they can kinda count on that a GW2 kinda depends on some one buying gems regardless of the numbers playing if no one buys their gems they are losing money every second they stay on line
Most of the people in my guild came from WoW, maybe 80%.
That’s 200 active people.
Are you saying WoW is better cuz they triple dip? Box + sub fee + cash shop? Most gamers I know are tired of getting ripped off
Thats also ignoring the fact that the xfire numbers suggests Gw2 has 1/2 the players that WoW has and I am sure if they reached 5m sales we’d have heard about it !
Well, WoW is in Asia while GW2 is in NA & EU only.
So far
and what xfire doesnt work in asia?
but fine, lets ignore the gw2 is 1/2 the wow population part ! WoW still showed a decline from 120k hrs to 22k hrs with no corrisponding or well lets say negligable corrisponding drop in subs !
I think you may have misunderstood me Galen or maybe I didn’t phrase it correctly.
According to xfire GW2 has half the players that WoW has with only 1/2 the market penetration since it’s not in Asia yet.
It’s feasible to say that GW2 and WoW currently have the same population in NA & EU.

Absolutely I would recommend it – and I have!
Stellar game, solid contender for PC game of the year.
Great value, no sub fee and free content patches every month.
My brother that use to play WoW just bought it yesterday when I told him he could pvp at 80 immediately without leveling or gearing up. He hasn’t come out of WvW yet.
I participated in a Balthazaar kill yesterday on Sanctum of Rall. I do it every couple of days along with the Zho’Qafa Catacombs event (trying for the rumored and highly rare Final Rest staff).
Another one of my obsessions
sadly I have had no luck with that since I can only get my husband to do it with me- that is a suicide mission for two players.
I guess you haven’t had any luck with getting Final Rest?
I run it with my guildmates mostly, we have a big guild and can always find peeps for groups.
No luck yet on Final Rest, but I’m willing to give it a few more runs
Thanks for replies. I’m still checking every one or two hours, and Crystal Desert has remained full. This time, it was at bottom of the list, presumably meaning, the most full.
This doesn’t make sense. Are active players keeping the servers full 24 hours a day, or is something else going on? Could botting by hundreds of folks take up space from folks who actually want to play?
The server status is dynamic, they do change throughout the day depending on how many people are logged on. Just keep checking, late at night & early in the morning are best times to check on Full servers.
Bots are really not an issue, ANet took a hard stance and has eradicated most of them

Those of us in Life is a Glitch [LAG] know that glitches do happen and we had a massive one last night when everyone in the guild was inadvertantly kicked.
We’ve got most of us back but are working hard to locate all of our lost lambs so just whisper any member to get back into the fold.
Thanks to all the Guild Leaders on SOR that have helped us locate our members and thanks to the community for being so supportive!

Fun – it’s addictive!
Battle Snow Royale.
Yes, hungry, shivering and cold, killing each other for food, with small random fires that we will fight like tigers over.
Oh, and a KITE
I want to run across the Fields of Shaemoor with a fantastical, magical kite.
I would like
A mini Kitty Golem like what’s in the Fractals
Polymock
A super cool jumping puzzle like the Clock Tower
and and
A Puppy!
Just go play any other MMORPG and you’ll come running back, arms outstretched, begging for forgiveness like a bad boyfriend that dissed his best girl.
I already have/am. Problem is, I am actually enjoying it too haha. I think, fundamentally, GW2 is far superior game and the best MMO on the market.
As stated in the original post, I can/would love to continue playing the game as I was, very casually. And then get to FoTM a few months down the road. I just hope there are players still running low level fractals at that time, because I can definately see FoTM being a good endgame. I just want to be able to experience it on my own time when I am ready.
Sure, there will always be new players and players leveling alts.
Anet said yesterday they are looking at a better way for people to group for Fractalmania, with maybe broader level windows. I wouldn’t worry about it too much.
