I spent the most delightful evening running the Scavenger’s Chasm jumping puzzle in Malchor’s Leap with a friend of mine tonight.

I was mesmerized by the otherworldly beauty, stone worn smooth by the waterfalls, the oubliette-like holes, the carvings on the rocks, listening to the desolate cries of birds and distant bombings as we worked our way through the intricate paths.

The game truly is a work of art. Thank-you.

The top WvW brackets seem to have solidified into fairly predictable outcomes over the last few weeks with very little movement between the brackets or within the tiers themselves.

Is this how you envisioned this playing out? If not, what are your plans to introduce some mayhem into the mix so that we can see some upsets?

The JP does not impact the PvP game.

You seem to be avoiding the fact that it DOES impact the PvP game. The plans. In the chest. Important stuff.

The fact that you dropping loot while you’re in there just makes you a tasty little target

There is an objective in the jump puzzle for WvW that you may not be aware of – the plans located in the chest. Although you may not see a need for them, outfitting your server with plans to build trebuchets, ballistas, arrow carts, etc. is critical to your server’s success.

Since you do insist on going in alone when your enemies are controlling the puzzle, you may want to take advantage of the Mystic Fountains located there. They grant 5 minutes of Invisibility which should be enough to get through the puzzle or the major portion of it.

Yesterday I killed 3 dragons and got 4 rares. Today I got an exotic from Tixx.

Some days I get stuff, some days I don’t.

GW2 just keeps racking up the awards and allocades. Well deserved for the greatest game of the year!

You can roll one of each and take it into the PvP lobby (the crossed sword icon) where you will be boosted to 80 and can play with all the traits, weapons, runes, sigils, etc. to get a feel on how your toon will play at max level. Practice on the dummies or jump into a hot join pvp match.

Swapping weapons makes a HUGE difference on how a profession plays

Legendary items will take time. Not meant to be had in a matter of weeks.

GW2 has some of the worst loot of any RPG game, period.

I beg to differ. WoW has the worst drop rates in any game that I’ve ever seen.

This game practically throws loot at you everytime you turn around.

I remember reading somewhere that the Trading Post doesn’t use the regular ingame code, that it’s some kind of web app.

Going all fire is a glass cannon spec. You can put out a great deal of damage but you will die A LOT. You generally will not be able to kill things before you die.

See more people everyday asking how to get the POI north of Eastern Ward in Lion’s Arch. That’s my indicator on how well the game is selling haha.

Might I suggest the Players Helping Players forum? General Discussion forum is under attack atm due to the game’s wild popularity.

As for selecting a profession, one thing you can do that’s really neat is go to the PvP lobby area (the crossed sword icon) where you will be upleveled to 80 and have access to all traits, weapons, armor, runes, sigils, etc. You can play with builds there either against the target dummies or other players to see if it’s a playstyle you like before committing to leveling a character

What I’m seeing is a ginormous amount of people at the meta events that have chest rewards (so much so that we are getting huge lag lately) and fewer people seeking out the Champion events.

I did the Champion Fire Imp in Maelstrom the other day with a couple friends – the one where you find the 4 items and summon it at the lava waterfall. It was totally epic, challenging and fun but there was no chest or reward. So chances are I won’t seek that event out again.

You forgot:

New achievements.
New titles.
New mini-pets.
New mini-game.
New jumping puzzles.
New events.
New mats and recipes.
New rewards.
New skins.
New PvP mode (paid tournies)

excuse my noobness, but how do I check this without attempting to switch servers. I did try to google it but all I found was a site that stated what servers were online (and it only had a few).

All you need to do is login and when you get to the character select screen hit the World Selection button. That pulls up a list of the servers showing the population.

Right this moment there are 8 servers that have room in the US. I’ve seen this fluctuate from 6 to 16 servers available over the last 48 hrs.

Btw, the game is packed. I’m constantly in overflow with queues for WvW.

Go get some.

They only work on creature kills, chests however have a better table then normal kills. We wanted to avoid the game play of killing a boss and then having to equip your whole Magic Find set before opening the chest.

Also magic find is calculated from when the creature is killed so it’s also not viable to use your normal gear set kill a boss then switch to magic find.
