Massive lag at Claw of Jormag event

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Karizee.8076

The Claw of Jormag event in Frostgorge sound is a really popular event on my server, unfortunately as more and more people show for the event we have a severe lag issue, very similar to the Karka event.

  • Spells do not cast. The buttons blink but the spells do not go off.
  • When spells do go off, it’s a significant delay from when they were cast.
  • Character movement stutters. When Jormag fears people up the hill in P2, the movement of all toons stops and starts rapidly, like they are dancing up the hill.
  • Random freezing of toons. It’s like they are frozen in ice, however there is no ice prison.

Thank you for your attention to this! You guys have made a great game

Since Wow has a sub that means all games with a sub = 12 million players.

Naw. They never had a sub in GW1 and they had content patches and expacs.

Colin Johanson said that the Jan & Feb patches together would be as much content as an expansion. Hold on to your hat!

You’ve been brainwashed into thinking a sub is neccesary. It’s not. The games that charge them are ripping you off.

Karizee.8076

No. been playing MMOs since Everquest. I understand this.

This forum is a bit worse with it, than some other MMOs I’ve played, though.

was just an observation on the tone of this particular sub-forum.

There’s a reason this forum is worse. A big “Elephant in the Room” type reason. See, GW2 is taking a big slice of that Elephant’s revenue. The Elephant is not dying yet but you can count on the more successful GW2 is, the louder that Elephant is going to scream.

Over a hundred of my guildies are online atm. Most everyone loves the game, the only grumbles I see are hard to reach vistas, annoyed at WvW map completion (when we are losing), and the occassional complaint about mob density in Orr.

It’s a great game, I love it

I hit 80 about 3 weeks after release and I’m still finding different things to do.

Finding the mini-dungeons (I actually like these better than the s +xDungeons). Some have very cool event chains to open them.

Dragon events. I use the website with the timers on it, always tons of people and tons of fun going to those.

Zho’qafa Tombs event in Straits of Devastation – there’s a chance at a super rare staff, the Final Rest. It’s a fun event also. I go there every couple days to see if I can pick up the trail of the event chain, I’ve found them dead in the swamp and dead in the tombs. Grab a couple guildies and round out with people on the map and we’re off!

Go Skritt Burglar chasing. Did this today, me and a couple guildies went map hopping to all the Skritt chest locations and chased that bugger all over Tyria.

Fractals. Love this dungeon. Only made it to level 10 so far, I don’t feel “driven” to go super high but it’s really fun.

Strike up random conversations with people. There were 3 Charr sitting on the bank steps, I went up and said they looked hungry and asked if they wanted a snack. They agreed that a snack would be tasty so I pulled out my Skritt pet. Hilarity ensued, they tried to BBQ the poor critter.

Teach people how to synch dance and dance with their weapons.

Do the Troll’s End jump puzzle in LA and offer portals to the chest. Give people tours of the jump puzzles in LA if they haven’t seen them and are interested.

Go to just about every event anyone in my guild links.

Scrimmage in WvW jump puzzles.

Halfway serious, halfway not working towards a legendary. Throw greens I get from events in the forge to get rares.

You get one from map completion at around lvl 15 I think, and very rare chance from mobs.

You can buy them with commendations from Lionguard Lyns. Cheap rare (lvl 65) and exotic (lvl 80 candy corn) jewelry give the most commendations – much better than paying gems for keys.

Karizee.8076

I’m really curious about how they are going to roll out more servers because we clearly need them -the game is busting at the seams.

I was in queue all evening to get into WvW (never happened) so I ran around and did events – everywhere I went there was mobs of people and constant overflow in Lion’s Arch.

Today over 60% of NA servers were FULL with the remaining Very High and with the upcoming Christmas rush where will they put all these people?

I’m thinking they might need to add 3 servers at a time because of WvW matching.

Mini-pets are not soulbound, you can trade them after you use them. They keep like an item in your bags.

I think the reason you don’t see so many is that you have to keep summoning them everytime you change zones or waypoint. That’s the reason I don’t have mine out usually anyway.

My brother is a big PvP-er.

I’ve been playing GW2 since beta but recently I was talking with my brother over the Thanksgiving holiday and told him about the game.

When I told him he could immediately pvp at level 80 without gearing or leveling he was instantly interested. So much so that he went out and bought the game within the hour.

Now he’s a busy guy and doesn’t have much time to play. He jumped straight into WvW for a couple sessions and was having a blast and I figured I wouldn’t see him in game much since I mostly PvE.

Last night in game he whispers me and says WvW is full, come level with me. So I log over to a toon I’m leveling and we go to Plains of Ashford since he’s playing a Charr. He wasn’t sure where to go and told me to lead.

After a couple hearts and events we end up at the heart where you get the gun to shoot, gunbutt/knockback and capture the skelks and minotaurs for the pit fight. The queue for WvW pops and he whispers me, “Leave queue, this is fun.”

Forget me leading after that, rofl! He was off, roaming about, healing NPCs, chopping down trees, doing hearts and events, grouping with players, randomly running into mobs or champions too powerful for him (whoa), trying to figure out what to do with all the loot in his bags, find the trading post, fall off vistas, etc.

I had so much fun just watching him, couldn’t stop laughing.

Thanks for being awesome, ArenaNet. <3

Hear hear.

Since the game launched I’ve only run into a few bugs. A couple escort events and 2 skill points (which have since been fixed). The only major bug was when the Trading Post was down for the first couple weeks of launch and honestly the game was SO GOOD I didn’t mind. It was worth being patient and guess what?
