I was there. They were abusing the invuln spot massively, running out in mini zerg numbers and back again when we defended. Could hardly leave because of their proximity to the camp and briar assault, and couldn’t kill them.
I’m fine with it if they are on the hill, as that’s their spawn. However this is on the open map and should not be abused IMO. The LT guild did this for at least half an hour also.
You could always just ask in /map if there’s any mesmers porting people up in the jumping puzzle.

I’ve only completed one monthly. I takes a tiny amount of time to get the WvW kills for a monthly. It takes hours to go through multiple dungeon runs etc for a monthly. This ones is horrible with fractals, I hate it. Guess what I do instead of whining about it, I play what I do enjoy which is WvW.
Monthlies, achievements and legendary weapons are in no way compulsory. There are many achievements i’ll never get, many monthlies i’ll never complete and possibly i’ll never achieve a legendary weapon. However i’ll buy enough siege to weigh down a tectonic plate, i’ll kill enough enemies to win a war solo, and die many times to match, i’ll run those suicide missions to take that enemy trebuchet down and i’ll lead people on my server to victory or defeat. Why? I enjoy it.
Hate PvP? Don’t do it. I’ve resigned to the fact that this game isn’t made for one type of player and nor should it be. It’s a massive game designed to have something for everyone, and none of the content should be required.
The biggest thing ANYONE should complain about at the moment is that ascended gear is only obtainable using one method which a significant proportion of the population dislikes. Anet stated they are changing that though, so that’s fine by me.

Disagree with the change tbh, the signet for the Thief was better because we can only obtain swiftness (on our own) via traiting to have it on dodge, and that’s far from perma swiftness. I can see why mesmer can do with speed buffs, the others, unnecessary.
Don’t care much. I have to do a lot of PvE if I want a legendary. 500 badges really isn’t hard to get, why don’t you just play some WvW and get them. I can get 500 in a week quite easily. PvE players definitely have the better end of the stick in the legendary grind frankly.
10 less supply to build, 66% of normal siege power (that way the 50% increase = normal siege power, and it keeps with the scaling of normal – superior siege). Not sure if this would be good, but lets put the idea out there.

Build long range siege then. If they are heavily fortified by arrow carts you should not be doing a melee range assault with golems or rams, unless your golem count takes the kitten lol and you can keep shield up constantly.

When I do a jump puzzle in PvE why do random creatures have to attack me? Can’t they see I just want to jump and get out of PvE and back to WvW as soon as possible?
I tend to kill them anyway, to deny a scout or to deny camp raiding by small groups/solo players. That said I’ve pretty much done all leveling on all characters in WvW. When upscaled, there’s sod all you can do vs a properly equipped lvl 80, so I always ran from those fights.
I dislike people in WvW playing solely to fight randomly without ever capping objectives or anything. If you go around stealing their supply camps, stopping yaks and such and have fights along the way, all power to you. If you just run around fighting aimlessly, go to S or T pvp.

Did I say that? No… I said it wasn’t the only factor and explained that the reason you saw a lot of poor players was they are fairweather people. The other guy was belittling AG for only having numbers and telling us some random stories of some bad AG players. Every server has a lot of bad players. AG didn’t win purely because of numbers, it was a big factor but implying we’re lacking skilled players is insulting and dumb.

Stealth is essential to the thief, without we haven’t got key damage abilities such as backstab or sneak attack. Try play a condi thief without sneak attack. Try play a burst thief without backstab. Try play a daze thief without swords stealth ability (forget its name). You will soon find that the thief without those skills is a heap of trash. Not only that but a huge amount of traits are built around stealth, heal in stealth, 2 ini when using stealth ability, regen ini faster in stealth, move faster in stealth, stealth abilities last 1 sec longer and so on.
Play the class before coming up with ideas on how to balance it.
God look who’s so angry, I never mentioned thieves in the first place, the talk is about stealth itself, and yet when people try to find a compromise(I hope you understand that word), thieves are getting full rage yelling that stealth shouldn’t be touched, worrying that they won’t be able to be invincible or kill with 1-2 hits, I don’t see mesmers complaining that they’ll be useless without it and for them stealth is also a big part or their strategy. That’s one.
Second – nobody said anything about removing stealth, listen to yourself, you’re complaining like there wouldn’t be stealth at all.

It doesn’t matter that they are talking about stealth as a whole, i’m addressing a person suggesting that damage should remove stealth. This would break the thief entirely. If you cannot understand this then…well.
It damage broke stealth, stealth would be nigh on useless. Mesmers don’t rely on stealth, certain builds make use of it. Thieves DO rely on stealth, it is integral to the class. And where did anyone want thieves to be invincible? Or killing in 1 or 2 hits? I can hit 10k on off-hand dagger 5 on my ele. Can hit 15k-20k killshots on warrior. Burst really isn’t an issue on the thief. Nor is survival frankly, there’s better survival classes.
I never said anyone said anything about removing stealth incidentally. If you want to argue please argue, don’t use pathetic straw man arguments and ad hominem constantly. You made up half that post.

Seriously, every server has new players or players who don’ know what they are doing. I saw a RoF golem escorted by 2 players attacking a sentry in centre south island on borderlands map for example. There’s a huge amount of players that are unsure of what they are doing in WvW on every server.
You can say we won due to superior numbers all you want. Thing is, with superior numbers you don’t get the opportunity to win outmanned fights
So of course you’ll think your server pulled off some better moves. Fact is you lost, fact is AG has some very talented wvw players and a VERY solid core. A lot of fairweather players were on this week for map completion and such.

If melee/ranged/aoe broke stealth, or even just 1 of the 3, the Thief would be kitten. End of.
CnD is the main method of obtaining stealth for most builds.
P/D condition builds use it to use sneak attack, which is the main source of damage as that’s what gets the bleed stacks up. If a melee hit broke it, then you get no sneak attack. As CnD is a kissing range move, it’s extremely unreliable and hugely expensive taking up half your base initiative bar.
Backstab builds do not run alternate stealthing skills on the utility bar generally, on the heal. As above, with a useless CnD the whole thing breaks.

Eh, it’s a fantasy game, some liberty with accents should be allowed. I’m one of the few Americans that can tell a British accent from an Australian one, much less discern social status, and even I never thought that hard about how the Sylvari sound. I can see how it would be jarring for a UK resident, though. Much like a Southern American accent done by a European actor sounds ‘off’ to me.
I thought that the difference between the English and Australian accent was as obvious as the difference between Stone Henge and a curry.

Simple and effective. Can’t really see why not have it. Could always allow people to not have one, but if they lose stuff well, their fault.
So long as there are OPTIONS I couldn’t care less. I don’t mind if someone wants to run around in near no clothes, so long as others have the option to run around in more concealing clothing. Personally I love things like the cabalist armour on females as a pose to say, masquerade armour. So long as options are there, all is good.

I think the trouble with it would be the need for Mesmers even more. Their ability to shift large amounts of players quickly across the map via chain portaling would be far too invaluable. Certainly interesting though.
Basically, no.
The Thief is very squishy and has a lack of access to a great many boons, stability being one of them (daggerstorm sure, but that’s nigh on useless in small fights, its effectiveness is from large fights and people shooting projectiles at you and killing themselves). To compensate we have stealth, much like how Elementalists have a huge arsenal of boon access.
If people can see a Thief in stealth, then stealth is no longer compensating the poor survival. It would become merely a tool to access the stealth special attack, and get any in-stealth only trait effect (heal in stealth or whatever). The thing people forget is, the Thief has no knock downs, the Thief has no stability or access to most boons and the Thief is squishy. Stealth is supposed to compensate lack of hard CC and lack of boon access whilst also compensating lack of HP/Armour.
As far as increasing revealed debuff, again no. If you do that you force people into the backstab builds. Sword/dagger daze builds already have been nerfed but some still use them, if you increase the debuff duration they’ll be gone totally. Pistol/dagger condition builds are quite largely used at the moment but they don’t get that many bleed stacks to be able to survive a revealed debuff hit, as the method of stacking bleeds is mainly from sneak attack (the stealth special ability of pistol).
People moaning about the Thief seem to think we have lots of stealth, massive damage, huge mobility and utility all at once. When the truth is, we only have one or two of those on each build.
Backstab builds do NOT have much stealth at all, CnD and the heal only generally. They lack the initiative regen to keep it up. They do however have big damage, but totally lack utility.
Condition builds do NOT have big damage. They do have lots of stealth and mobility thanks to the initiative regen on these builds, but lack big damage and lack utility.
Daze builds do NOT have much mobility nor stealth. They do have decent damage and utility.
We cannot and do not have it all at once.
or when a camp is being attack by 1+ invaders we have a text messange in general chat saying :“Supervisor of godsword is under attack”

On topic. I think they are fine, however the upgrade costs for extra guards/lvl 82 guards should be reduced. I’d also like the option to upgrade further. However there is no reason that an undefended, none upgraded supply camp should require a reasonable group size to take. One or two is fine.
Please can we get longer than 5 seconds notice before WvW shutdowns? Yet again we were mid siege and yet again it’s a lost cause because of these shutdowns.
Is it really so difficult? PvE guys get 3 minutes or so, why WvW 5 seconds?
If what I hear is true about the recent people who transferred over about to jump ship again… just sod off now and don’t come back. We on AG were doing very nicely and starting to build a real solid core WvW group on mumble etc. If all you want is to come over and beat a server we were already able to beat (see matchup 2 weeks ago), then just go, you aren’t welcome.
If however you’re here to stay and want to join and build that solid WvW core, by all means stay. You are welcome. I love AG for that core, really don’t want to see this server go the way I’ve seen others go.

We on RoF got most of our borderlands back this morning because we started on the camps, and then moved fast with rams once we had some supply. Of course, your North American guildies showed up en masse once they were done reaming the GH borderland.
How obvious do I need to make the sarcasm? I mean really, read it again and tell me it isn’t obvious.
The situation so far this weekend shows exactly why wholesale transfer of large WvW guild must be further restricted and soon. We can figure out for ourselves what the matchups are going to be each week and big guilds are simply moving to “the server that will win”.
The people of RoF don’t care what the drama is between AG and GH, but we are getting a little tired of the obvious double teaming that we’ve seen a couple of times already this weekend.
Quite frankly, dealing with the AG night cap team is bad enough.

I really hope this week doesn’t end up being a walk over because of it though, I welcome KISS and they’ll help tier 6 fights a lot though.

Ascended should just be available on the trading post. Don’t care that it’d be expensive, it would mean I don’t have to do a lame endless dungeon.
It should also be attainable from other methods too, if it was another exotic set fine, but it isn’t, it’s the best stuff in the game.
This ability keeps not working since the last patch. I put it down having used NO stealth attacks. As in, I was visible fighting and hadn’t use say, sneak attack recently at all. So I put it down and it says i’m immune to the stealth till the last second of the refuge house being up.
It’s as if putting down refuge puts the revealed debuff on me sometimes?

haha i was there for that i somehow escaped from being sandwiched but the rest of the AG players all seemed to quit after that

I spent all mine on siege lol, have probably earnt in the region of 1200 at least.
I haven’t encountered this problem yet.
One thing I would like to see is a proximity based supply counter. Not enough people join squads making /squadinfo less useful, and also not everyone in your squad is with you always.
If you could have /supply and it counts user supply in a 5000 area radius it’d be fantastic.
A better fix would’ve probably been stealth/invuln players slow the rate of capping, but not stop it.
I’ll try get badger squad up for this event.

OMG 20k damage using all utilities, so once every 45 seconds, with steal-cnd-backstab from melee range and has to hit in the back to pull off that damage. Forum rages calls for nerfs.
Warrior
20k damage, not melee but 1500 range no less, once every 45 seconds i’d guess to charge up the adrenaline, no specific angle required. Forum mentions it but who cares right. Warriors should only get buffs.

I didn’t ever mind backstab, still don’t. I don’t particularly mind this either. However get some consistency, if backstab rotations are broken this is too, perhaps even more so.
Honestly not sure I agree on the stealth capping removal. I thought it was an interesting game mechanic and whenever I have been on the receiving end of it, I’ve coordinated my allies to counter appropriately. The Thief is not a zerg vs zerg kind of character when compared to grenade engineers, staff elementalists, necromancers or rangers, so the small scale stuff was their specialty. This removes a part of that specialty. In sPvP it’s different due to match lengths and numbers, in WvW that’s far less of an issue.
Oh well. I was probably one of the few that liked it anyway.
Doubt that predator. There is literally no use in dropping your siege box on the floor other than to transfer siege to another character, be it an alt of yours or just the person picking it up. If they didn’t intend for siege to be dropped why make a specific ability to do it with no other purpose than transferring ownership of siege.
I play WvW almost exclusively, and am a commander on my server. I’m quite aware of the difficulty of getting a keep in a close game or a game where your server is weaker. However there is no obligation for you to get map completion just as there is none for me to do so. I do not go around moaning that if I want map completion I have to get the overwhelming majority of it in areas I couldn’t care less about. It’s a symbol you’ve essentially completed the game, what is wrong with it being something of a challenge? Also badges aren’t that rare, I easily get upwards of 70 a day on WvW, and that’s not even with all jump puzzles complete a day.
It’s so you don’t make alts and run puzzle like 5 times and move all seige to 1 guy
People do this anyway via the method I just said. Is it really so bad if somebody gets some siege from jump puzzles? I think not…

Title says it all, please make siege account rather than soul bound. I really don’t understand why it’s soul bound frankly, especially considering you can just drop the blueprints on the floor, have a friend pick them up, log on as the character you want them on and have them drop them again. What’s the point of this?
Aurora Glade could do with a few extra bodies. We’re starting to band together rather well, simply lacking some numbers to push our way back up through the tiers. We have some dedicated guilds and plenty of small guilds on the server also. Our tactics are generally sound although i’d like to see more 5 man raiding parties. AG has a 200 person mumble server as well as a community website also. Most commanders use this mumble server, even if they all seem to go quiet when I arrive lol.
AG at the moment is a solid core of the ‘real’ WvW players if you will. We could just do with some more.
