The only issue Anet has is trying to figure out how to accommodate the much larger Asian market into WvW with what they have.
Enjoy being the beta test for the Asian expansion.
You do know what the new test server is for don’t you?
Its to test server loading for Anet’s expansion into China where they have much larger guilds.
Till it goes live the NA servers are ground zero.
They’re fixing the queue system and bringing in an overflow map early next year. They’re working on it.
After all this time, Anet manages to disincentivize stacking into T1 — and then they have to go a screw it all up with this overflow map idea. One step forward, two steps back.
Nothing they have added will reduce the zerg. Do you really think all the achievers are gonna do havoc squads?
No, they are gonna cling to the biggest zerg they can find to get the achievements done as quick as possible with the least amount of effort.
1. Ungodly queue times that completely deny people the ability to WvW. The addition of pve incentives have made WvW more popular with a greater section of your game population.
I disagree with this. If they were to take the achievements out of WvW do you really think people would still be queueing up…….nope. It would go back to the same people who were doing it before the achievements.
The new people in WvW are not there by choice, if they want the achievements they are forced to be there.
WvW has been in the game since launch. If they didn’t want to do it by now adding achievements is not going to change that.
All they are going to do is as little as possible to get the achievements and then get out.
I never got into housing in an MMO but the one in Aion is pretty sweet with all that you can do to mod your home.
And they will leave once said achievements are done. Like I said earlier, they have had a year already to try it and like it. Adding achievements isn’t going to change this.
If Aion’s siege timers were more accommodating to the NA time zone I would go back there myself.
WvW has been in the game since launch. If they wanted to join WvW they had plenty of time to try it out.
Achievements is not going to make them want to WvW, its gonna make them want to get in, get achievements, get out.
Queue from Heart of the Mists. Anecdotal but many have had a lower queue time when they moved there and queued up.
Are you looking at while you are stuck in queue.
Wvw has been in the game since launch. If they haven’t joined WvW to pvp by now they aren’t going to magically change over night.
What is going to happen is at the beginning of every new season you will see a massive influx of players into WvW to get their achievements which will punish the long time WvW players/guilds.
And once achievements are done they will leave and while this is going on the WvW players will slowly stop fighting the queues and move onto another pvp game.
Not sure why JQ gets week 2 3 and 4 without SoR or BG, and SOR only gets week 5 and BG week 6 with out the two other teir 1 servers.
With points going to first place, and a guaranteed win for any Tier 1 server fighting two Tier 2 servers, it will give JQ 3 guaranteed wins worth of points.
A better schedule would have been
EDITED FROM ORIGINAL:
Week 1 = SOR JQ BG = easy week for TC
Week 2 = BG SOR = easy week for JQ
Week 3 = SOR JQ = easy week for BG
Week 4 = JQ BG = easy week for SOR
Week 5 = SOR BG = easy week for JQ
Week 6 = SOR JQ = easy week for BG
Week 7 = SOR JQ BG = easy week for SOR
This is two easy weeks per Tier 1 server and one easy week for TC. This is as fair as it can be while still giving the top three servers all a fighting chance.
I mean it is super simple and fair, if something like this is not implemented than you are handing a team free points at the start of League. I can’t believe it was not scheduled like this in the first place.
As the schedule stands right now, JQ could come in second place in both week 1 and week 7 and STILL win the league.
It is unacceptable.
EDIT: Typo
KIIIIIIN RRRRRRAAAAAGGGGGGEEEEEE
U posted 4 hours ago and league hadn’t started yet ….
I just hoped in bl a few hours ago without any queue ….
Reset hasn’t happened for NA yet. Get with the program skippy.
I see many WvW regulars leaving instead of waiting on queues. And once all the PVe players have their achievements WvW will be a ghost town till reset. Repeat.
I just want to WvW! How about a Que option for “1st available BL” Since at the moment it is just pot luck on my server with one has the shorstest que ^^
The test server is coming.
Ah, I just looked at your posting history. Now I understand. Take care.
Just admit you had a hard time understanding how to figure out an average wait time and now that it has clicked you realize you were wrong.
Poor attempt to try avoid it though.
Not many are playing 13 hours a session. Most are playing only a few and the average will reflect that. Math isn’t hard. Many a game has an average wait time displayed.
I know at least two dozen people who play those hours, myself included
And there are many many more I don’t know about ….
My point was is that it will be very hard to give an accurate reading of time until you can get in, even with the math, without people coming crying bloody murder to the forums about the “math” not being accurately reflected in their own experiences. And that has mostly to do with how unpredictable player’s gaming time is …
I see by the dev post that they’re working on it. That’s good news, I just hope that people have reasonable expectations about it.
Reread my post. “How come other games can come up with an average time in queue.”
Keyword = average. Never mentioned accurate.
Other games aren’t filled to capacity. Re-read what that other fellow posted to you.
Filled to capacity has nothing to do with figuring out an average wait time and displaying it.
Person joins queue, person gets into match, server adds this to the total and divides it by the total amount of players.
There are only 2 things you can say about server capacity.
1) Not filled to capacity, no queue.
2) Filled to capacity, queue.
The fact that already exists but you seem to not be able to wrap your thought patterns around it is disturbing.
Other games aren’t filled to capacity. You now this how……lol.

Why should someone who isn’t part of the team get the benefits of it? If you want the buffs be social and get into a group or a guild. Problem solved.

You and your friends are a minority. Whether you want to accept that is up to you.
Nope. Particularly with WvW.
Player A logs in at 9am and plays until 10 pm.
Player B logs in at 4pm and players until 6pm.
Play times and length are as unpredictable as the players themselves.
And if they did put in a timer and it failed to be accurate you can only imagine the rage and threads bawling them out over “lies.” Queue timer is a no-win situation for them.

GW2 isn’t a special snowflake that basic math cant come up with an average wait time.
I guarantee you its because to add that simple function would take resources from the already stress servers. Its the same reason why aoe is capped at 5, because the servers do not have the available resources to accommodate the extra load.
Or they just keep track of when someone queued and when they got in and then add it together with everyone and then divide it by the number of players tracked to get an average.
Easy to do but that would put more of a load on the server and we all know that the Anet WvW server/servers are already under a lot of pressure.
How come other games can come up with an average time in queue.
Its called a test server in other games.
Time to put a movie on and follow the zerg around doing just enough to get credit. Don’t want to do too much though, that will interfere with the popcorn eating.
I like Spectral Walk when I need to escape… I pop it and run, people run after me… wait 3 or 4 seconds and teleport behind then… usually it takes some precious seconds for them to understand what happened and you can go to the oposite side.
Of course it doesnt always work…
And then they just leap or port to you and you are back where you started.
I kinda skipped over this .. but after reading about the new map and it’s ‘supposed’ purpose .. one line stood out among all of them ..
This means worlds with a large population won’t be able to use their size to gain an unfair advantage with this map.
If that is truly the case .. then this is what all maps need to be changed to in order to kick it in the butt for WvW. This one change would bring back a large number of people that have given up because of lack of balance on all the maps because of server population.
How would a server that has more WvW players be able to use that to their advantage if the WvW maps have the same cap for all 3 servers?
If a server can hit their map cap that’s not them using their numbers to get an advantage because each server can hit the cap. Only way it could be an advantage is if a server could get more players onto a map vs the other servers.
Maybe it is me, but considering I am not from a T1 server I do not see the utility of such a map. If I wanna do proper WvW I go to one of the existing WvW maps, no queue.
Why would I go to a new map!?
Apart from the initial curiosity or maybe it will become another exploit map to farm WXP ranks?!Define proper WvW. If you don’t enjoy the ppt game and just want to have some skirmishes without having to care about constant zergs rolling over your face. You might as well join this neutral map.
Or you could go into the spvp maps and find all the small scale battles you want…I know….that’s just too easy.
Solo pvp player whining about not being able to solo pvp as much as they like in a mass pvp scenario.

Its a “test server” that Anet isn’t calling a “test server” and many are lapping it up.
New map sounds amazing. It really does, but one of the most important thing that stops ppl from leaving smaller servers is the long queues on bigger ones. Now that they are ‘fixing’ the problem of people being bored waiting to get in, what stops everyone to just stack on larger servers? Don’t you think this will encourage bandwagonning even more?
No it wont. If you are into the “Server Game” you wont be on the “Test Server” because it has no bearing on the match.
All this does is instead of sitting in LA waiting for the queue to pop you will be dumped into the test server where you can pvp while you wait for your queue to pop.
Which is just a side benefit to having a test server for Anet’s launch in the east.
“These guilds all want to play WvW on the same world together, this map will help facilitate a better launch in new regions, as well as the much larger guild alliances you find in the east.”
Its a test server ppl. They are launching in China which has many more players than NA and we all now that WvW is having a hard time dealing with NA playerbase.
Before they can launch Anet needs to figure out how to cram more players into WvW and fix performance issues. This will not fix the the zerg meta. All it will do is allow them to increase the population cap in WvW.
T1 NA on reset has many guild members sitting in queue waiting to play with their guilds. If anything all the test server will do is allow them to raise the cap.
One last time…say it with me….“Test Server”.
it’s even more lost once you transition into wvw. you need as many escapes as possible.
Not particularly, if you’re paying attention. I’ve always been able to get away just fine, just so long as I don’t let the zerg actually get close enough to get me into combat.
So basically you spend a lot of time running away.
So this is a test server for their expansion into the Asian markets that they are calling a new map for the NA community…………..say it with me….“Test Server”.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/pvp/wuvwuv/2-22-JQ-SoR-SoS/first
Going thru this thread and it seems the same SoR forum warriors are complaining about other servers being stacked, getting 2v1, and other servers have a poor community.
And they had the nerve to say it was BG that caused all the kitten threads.
Jahn.7019
Blackgate is probably the new super server. They have all the coverage filled including the highly coveted “euro slot”, which no other server has.
I’m sure they’ll do just fine, JQ better stay sharp because they are coming to dethrone you.
(edited by KeeZee.7312)
When SoR takes first then all the trash talking would carry some weight. But we all know they are deathly afraid of JQ.
And we know that JQ was seriously kitten that BG beat them.
Blackgate has already stomped SoR. Since being in T1 they were 2nd for the first 2 weeks and took first the 3rd week. SoR was in their usual 3rd place spot.
Why 3rd place, because they are too afraid to do anything against JQ because they know that they would crumble trying to defend both JQ and BG. And the fact that SoR is afraid to challenge JQ works to JQs benefit. They can go after BG knowing SoR will join in and not take points from them.
How long has SoR been in T1 now and never once came close to taking top spot. It says a lot about a server that just rolls over and accepts 2nd or 3rd.
Many on BG enjoy fighting against JQs numbers and coverage, what is wearing on BG is the yappy poodle constantly nipping at our ankles when we fight the top dog.
Spitting More Trollish Garbage!
An “Asterisk” win hardly validates the roller coaster that is currently BG.
And that “yappy poodle” will be in Tier 1 for a long while slowly building its server the “right” way… so get used to it if you don’t drop again. You need to put your ego aside for a moment and realize if JQ wants to win, they will win (they have shown how hard they can go) a 1 week fluke means nothing… even a blind squirrel can get a nut from time to time.
So at this point in time why bash your head against a wall?…it only burns people out, and demoralizes your rallians?
Both servers long term strategy should be to consistently maintain a competitive server while adding quality guilds who want to play on your server(and enjoy Tier 1 style play).

Blinxxx/The Graced SORSummary: We the people of France(SoR) humbly surrender to Germany(JQ) because we know we cant win and wont even try.
ya when SoR NA prime ticks for 300-400 ppt everynight followed by flipping an entire bl, we are only attacking BG! Also the past couple days SoR has been ticking higher than BG during SEA prime. I guess if we’re france that would make you guys Poland.
How long has SoR been in Tier 1?
How many times have they been in first?
Nuff said.
Second
Or
Runner-up
Forever!!!
When SoR takes the #1 spot then their forum warriors will have something to say. Till then its just a lot of trash talk because that’s all they got.
They are bigger. Many have come back to see the changes, many jumping on the bandwagon to grind ranks. The bigger the zerg the faster you can flip something and move onto the next one.
The one monster zerg running around the map will be here for awhile.
Its simple.
JQ has eyes on BG because BG proved that under the right conditions BG can beat them.
JQ has no need to bother with SoR because they know SoR cannot beat them.
SoR goes after BG because they know they cannot beat BG on their own so they take advantage of the current situation.
Just look at it this way BG.
JQ is afraid of you and SoR needs help from another server to beat you.
"
If the coming update does what it should, I for one won’t be surprised to see both JQ and BG gone from Tier 1 long before SOR. At some point aggregate player skills, not numbers, have to be the differentiator between winning and you can’t really call what’s happening to us now losing."
Translation: If JQ and BG get burnt out and don’t show up SoR can then win.
Blackgate is not on this morning (Outmanned in JQ/SoR and no queue on any map), and we know SoR doesn’t have the balls to attack JQ.
You guys still talking about that, omg……let it go. Just shut the kitten up and move on.
BG’s first tier one win will forever be tainted. Sad since they deserved to win this week with that great comeback. Hopefully next week these shinnanigans will be over with.
Why would it be tainted? Unless you got some proof you should keep the baseless accusations to yourself.
Icoa is still there and a great guild to join if anyone is looking to join a fine WvW guild.
Running away is exactly why you’re dying. If you don’t match a thief’s aggression with the same, you’re giving him a massive advantage and throwing away our own inherent advantages.
Also DS can take any combo in the game, stealth doesn’t.
Edit: here are all the thieves I could find solo today, + some messy ele kill. This is hardly proving something, but you asked, and this is all I have recorded.
Where do I find bad players like that, I always seem to find people that fight back.
