When you see the attached happen (it was 500+ ppt btw), even in tier 1…. I am curious how WvW will continue going forward.

Yesterday BG was going on about them being the under dogs again……….

A little piece of advice…..stop stacking more guilds every time you all lose one fight.

In BGs defence I do feel that they were the underdogs going into Season 1. Especially considering they had not just been beaten, but wrecked leading up to the season by both JQ and SOR. Now, however, things have changed. The server itself is just extremely stacked. I am glad I am no longer there. In the long run it will be a burden on the server itself.

This week I have built around 80 paper trebs in obscure positions and been trebbing their keeps/towers. Most of those times BG has been able to pull an entire zerg off what they are doing, often from another side of the map, to deal with my single effort. They never react by sending one person. In the few times where it hasn’t been a full zerg its 5+ players. The server is so stacked now and the attitude and conduct of many of the players is not what it used to be. There is a large following of players who are just there for the easy win.

I see a really bad scenario coming for T1 in NA in the near future. SORs collapse means a two horse race and because BG is so stacked JQ will slowly lose its morale. Alot of BG players and guilds are already complaining about a lack of fights. And quite frankly its because its getting old that other players have to constantly fight them in outnumbered scenarios. The wise thing to do would be for BG to self destack. But I honestly think for both positive (friends on the server) and negative (easy wins/fights) reasons it won’t happen and BGs guilds will have no choice but to destack unless they want to login and have nothing to do in WvW. But hey, at least we got EoTM now!

I wouldn’t bother with KeeZee. They are kitten that their server, JQ or SOR, ended up loosing the first league. This person is now on a personal mission to smear BG. They are a troll and is willing to spread misinformation to smear BG.

You could look it up on MOS but we know BG will deny the truth even if its posted for them. Been there done that.

Considering Smokee is the co-leader of 1 of 3 EU guilds, also being the guild that is reliably on everyday. He is also part of the war council which every guild transfer is discussed within their meetings.

So I would say his “point of view” is a much more accurate representation of BG’s current situation than your “point of view.”

Andrew, I’m sure that plenty of people will play EoTM that way, but that’s an awfully linear viewing of it. Gamer behavior is far more organic than all that.

I see it as a sandbox, more so than the original maps partly because they are well played and learned, and partly because it is obviously designed with that concept of chaos in mind.

Of note: It took a few hours for me to start seeing an [EoTM] guild being represented heavily and used fairly well in the standard follow-the-driver fashion. They were farming kills more than captures.

Sandbox……are you serious….this game couldn’t be farther away from the sandbox.

You know Necros are THE Punked Profession. It is like the Devs sit in a room & think of new, more annoying ways to punk us.

- The UI Delay
– All the other Bugs
– Condition-based Interrupts that can be easily ignored
– Stupid, and I mean STUPID Minions (that often do not even attack)
– Only Profession without Practical Stability
– Only Profession without Blocks/Evasion/Invulnerability
– Only Profession without access to Vigor (as via traits)
– Only Profession without a #1 Arcing/AoE Attack
– Only Profession with a Weapon [Staff] that is pretty Useless against Downed Opponents

And yet, I am able to get over 106.7K kills in WvW with such a punked profession…..lol shakeshead

Getting allot of kills on a class where every ability is an aoe in WvW is not something to brag about to be honest….lol shakeshead

The point I’ve been making the whole time, is that BG has to keep recruiting guilds and can never admit that they have enough. Not until there are queues on every map at every hour can they slow down recruitment. Complacency and boredom are probably driving people on BG to PvE in droves. It’s not by chance that they killed Tequatl first; it was probably all WvW burnouts.

Keep these accusations coming some of them are just funny. Are you still bitter about BG replacing SoS in tier 1 a year later. The attachment below is not about the mesmer, but a specific buff

You ask for an instance (because you are lazy) of someone implying that BG needs more people and then you post a picture of the outmanned buff.

Please find a time, any time that BG consistently ticks under +230ppt. I don’t mean for a few seconds or randoms screenshots. I mean, give me a 2-3 hour timeframe (early EU, late NA, etc) that BG ticks less than 1/3 of the possible PPT up for grabs. I’ll dutifully check the scores at that time for a few days/nights and see if it happens.

Tell me that there is any gap, consistently, is lacking for longer than an hour.

And for the last time, Ancient History has nothing to do with it. I like a lot of people on BG but so many forum warriors trying to make it sound like BG does not have a numbers/coverage advantage (at the moment) will make anyone with a brain call BS.

For clarification, there is no implication that BG swarms WvW with impunity. I’m sure that even in times of lower coverage, there are fights to be had and JQ or SoR will often have the advantage in numbers during individual encounters.
I’m not trying to take anything away from good fights and victories that BG (or any server) earns in those situations.

What I’m stating, born out by the facts: is that if you compared the numbers/coverage of the WvW dedicated (meaning folks that WvW more than 75% of the time) population of all three T2 servers (TC, FA, and SoS) put them on a theoretical empty server and put them into T1; that BG would STILL outnumber/outcoverage that server overall.

And that BG would recruit heavily to match any time discrepancies in said matchup is also not in doubt.

If BG is ticking higher than other servers, it is because they don’t care about PPT, as they have expressed so many times. BG, however still does, even if it is random commanders leading all our PUGs. Personally, I don’t care for PPT much either. Been duo roaming mostly these days. SoR has many guilds which run tagless looking for fights and do nothing for the server’s PPT, so don’t blame us for losing PPT-wise when they are not even making an attempt.

BG has ppl to roam and guilds to grind PPT.

Other servers have ppl to roam or grind ppt.

In conclusion…BG has more ppl.

BG is always out-manned on every map 24/7.
BG wins due to pure skill.
Every server BG has ever fought has outnumbered them 300 to 1.
BG is so poor that they cannot even afford commander tags.
Every fight JQ or SoR DDO their teamspeak.
BG has no organized guilds..its all solo roamers.
BG never zergs.

The proposed changes to critical damage gear aren’t specifically PvE-focused, but focused rather on the stat weighting of critical damage itself. We’re not aiming to make crit damage unviable, just to bring it closer to other gear sets.

As for the first feature build, there will be other factors coming into play that could very well offset the changes, including reworked runes/sigils, the ability to use sigils in new combinations (including 2 on a two-handed weapon), and the profession balance changes. Just something to keep in mind.

Its good Necro’s have runes and sigils.

I am surprised no one, not even for just a laugh has organised a 30 strong zerg of pure Necro Minion Mancers.

Ie… 30 Necro’s with 6 minions each, so that would be a 180 strong minion army.

Could face off with 30 Rangers and there 150 spirits + 30 pets (and a another 30 to swap too)

It would probably make a amusing, funny youtube video.

It was done on JQ. The necro minions were melted and then we watched in horror as the class with no escapes tried to run away only to be quickly caught and killed.

It’s a pity we can’t have good fights during Oceanic though. We just don’t have the numbers at that time. Can barely pull numbers to queue one map unless we get a lot of NA players staying up combined with a lot of SEA players logging on early.

Hmm tonight you’ve been leading the PPT all OC evening. So clearly you can still pull the numbers.

We had 1 group of 30 people and 1 group of 15 jumping between 4 maps. Not our fault you didn’t push us.

We had 1 group of 30 people and 1 group of 15 all solo roaming rangers who were up-levels and not communicating. And we were the under-dog server going into Season 1. And we never have a queue on any map……matter of fact, we are constantly out-manned on all maps.

Anet, you need to fix that bug that allows servers to bring in more players than they are allowed. The last week or so BG has been abusing this to no end.

The normal cap is 90, and the most Ive seen us stack in a borderland is around 140. But we were getting double teamed, so it was like you had 180, so I really dont see the big deal?

Come on now….BG didn’t have 90….they had a motley group of 17 players all from different guilds, uplevels, not using teamspeak , all solo roaming.

Plague form = 20 seconds of stability
also if traited you can dish out psn/blind/chil every second with Plague 2 so yes we can facetank, that does not mean we will make it out alive it means we can soak up lots of dmg.

Stability, now it would be a shame if someone removed it…

we are necro’s we all should know the risk of using stability without cover boons.

The last boon you give yourself is stability as you enter Plagueform…..in plagueform you have no boons to bury it with.

Maybe you didn’t, but many of your server mates did stop showing up and are continuing not to show up. We saw your WvW population two weeks prior to leagues and it was certainly more than what we saw during leagues. Combined with the fact that you should’ve gained more players due to achievement hunters, it’s pretty clear that a lot of WvWers from your server stopped showing up.

You underestimate your own growth and that of JQ.

Maybe you overestimate your own strength. Your server lost a significant number of people during this season. It’s a real shame IRON left SoR – they were one of your pillars of strength. It’s pretty clear when you’re losing to TC this week.

I’m very clear on where BG stands right now. I’m also aware on where JQ roughly stands compared to us. Perhaps you need to stop drinking Indo’s kool-aid. Your server is in a rough position and you need to shed your pride and rebuild your strength or slide down a tier or two (if that’s what’s needed to strengthen your core, hopefully not). Stating otherwise is just ignorant.

We were roughly equal in numbers just before leagues and it showed the last time we had that 3 way T1 fight two weeks before leagues, so it’s pretty clear to everyone that a lot of SoR stopped showing up.

Not sure about EU, but in NA all ANet has to do is reduce the map cap to 40 or 50, and T1 will crumble under the weight of their server stacking, and the players will spread out.

It wouldn’t affect JQ/SoR.
There’s no longer ‘T1 stacked servers’, there’s just Blackgate.

JQ has lost a large chunk of it’s playerbase, SoR has lost well over half it’s playerbase.
Look at the score, TC is even with SoR, that’s how far SoR has fallen over the last month.

SoR is now in last place… We can only queue one map currently and we still can’t overcome TC and JQ. I don’t even see the regular commanders much.

I suspect that many of the vets were feeling a little burnt out and once they knew first place was out of the question they stopped playing GW2 instead of dealing with the queue’s for the first few weeks of Season 1.

Maybe they will come back once season 1 is over. Or maybe they already found another game.

Congrats BG on Anets first league championship! It was close for awhile but when JQ’s finest hour Oceanic/Sea is unable to win the PPT battle by a wide margin it’s apparent the end is near as ZD will take advantage of the minimum resistance afforded during JQ’s least manned play time and another 5k+++ to the lead.

Have fun with your golden doly’s, make sure to share a screen shot!! With this win I believe you guys can take week 7 off (well deserved).

While I appreciate the early congratulations, the match is not won until at least Thursday:) Both JQ and BG have pulled amazing come backs before, so a mere 8k lead or even 20k lead is not guarantee for win.

Do we not agree JQ’s strength in numbers is Oceanic/SEA? the fact they were unable to push back hard during their peak ppt hours says a lot of which way this match is gonna end up.

And it was precisely the early EU/EU time (BG’s stronger time) a couple days ago when BG got beaten by JQ and lost its lead then. There are so many factors affecting the performance at each time zone (e.g. whether you can get organized guild in map, a bad scout lead to loss of t3 keeps, wild card guilds like Agg, commander not able to log in etc), that it’s really hard to say with certainly what’s going to happen.

Yes BG is doing really well right now and should make next several hours more difficult for JQ, however it does not mean there’s no chance for JQ to reset the fights later on and get a come back.

Enjoy the pvDoor, you all earned the easy matches remaining after having such a hard schedule for the first 3 matches.

No point for JQ to show up knowing their efforts are in vain and provide entertainment for BG.

And I never stated I wanted warriors and thieves to be the same.

I merely said, “thieves werent as versatile for me as warriors are”.

Maybe it sounded that way however. My point was, you dont have to be like everyone else, just play how you like and have fun.

Good chance that’s just how I understood it. And I do feel thieves are very versatile. Thieves can still be front line but they are better suited to other roles that are just as useful.

In the end, lets all have fun….fight hard……and enjoy a beer afterwards and stop the excessive trash talking.

I think the issue lies with you just don’t feel like you are contributing when in actuality you are.

That’s probably the case.

Just wondering though, would something like this condi Thief Duel Pistol Unload + SB work well? It looks pretty darn fun considering the amount of conditions you can stack on a target.

If you can stack a ton of conditions then that will synergize well with necros. Get in a group with a necro and call targets. Adds a more engaged way of playing that definitely benefit the team.

Anyone who takes 30 minutes to hang out in a structure to call enemy attacks is benefitting the team even though it feels you are doing nothing.

Sometimes I would love to join and scout but I know the class I play isn’t really suited for that and accept it.

If you want to play like a warrior, play a warrior. You don’t role a thief and then ask they change the class to also be a warrior.

Really,

Its about playstyle, I play an unusual out of the box warrior that can contribute to conditions, stun, and still has decent burst, great vitality, enough toughness, several get of jail free cards.

Typically, I run with the zerg, however, generally I cut through the enemy before the zerg decides to finally react. When a enemy zerg rolls in, I treat them like a lava bomb and then begin to fray their edge and lengthen their tail.

Alot of this playstyle comes to me because typically I play a rogue type.

Mold the play how you like regardless of if its percieved good or bad, its not necessarily about the points, but that its enjoyable.

Thief is to limited in my opinion compared to warrior, its the reason I leave the thief strictly as an extra bank at this point. Eventually they will expand thieves and it will be more my tune again.

If A-Net made it so a thief could play like the current thief and a warrior why would you need both of the classes?

Seems like you are promoting the homogenization of the classes WoW style. Everyone can do everything equally as good. One class to rule them all.

I agree that the thief’s ability to “scout” and take out targets along the perimeter of the zerg adds a great deal but other than that role, what else can they do? The SB leaves a great deal to be desired. Still, it is nice to be able escape should you find yourself in a bad situation. Sometime I just wish my thief could do more against the enemy zerg than just spamming SB skills.

Every class has something they are good at that benefits their team in WvW.

I think the issue lies with you just don’t feel like you are contributing when in actuality you are.

Time to rename WvW to GVG and cap guilds at 30 and all ppt is earned for the guild.

Last week out of each month the top 3 guilds from each server go to the WvW Olympics and duke it out for server pride.

are you suggesting we cap WvW to 30 guilds, or 30 players from same guild?
Because 30 guilds with 100+ members, well, it would be an interesting battle, if the lag allowed there to be a battle.

The amount of players in a guild period. A-net then could allow those guilds to form alliances allowing big guilds to still exist but the smaller groups would allow for specialized focus or for alliances to recruit for coverage.

This would allow those that are in it for the smaller guild fights to do it all they want and those that want to play for server pride would work towards that once a month.
Because once you entered the map you would be red to everyone but the people in your guild and alliance.

A more dynamic guild/alliance set-up could also allow for things like siege squads.
Siege squads would be people who have ram/cata/treb skills with the first point allowing people to use said equipment. No point cannot access. Could have groups who just build siege fast and then go off to be havoc squads. And then the squad with the required siege mastery would jump in and start firing. Only limit would be does the game allow the mechanics. And of course each group would have its own squad tag that only the commander could see and be colour coded.

Would this address all server issues in-regards to population…no but it would allow more smaller servers a chance at taking first for server pride.

And the solo players or those that just want a quick pvp fix would have the overflow maps to enjoy.

Some guilds dislike running with more than 5-10.

Then they join the alliance as a 5-10 man squad which can either take a more specific role like havoc squad or can choose to run with the larger main force. The choice would be up to them.

And no one would be locked to a particular role. It would be up to the ppl in the alliance to engage each other and work together.

Really, saw a vid of a thief kill 10 ppl in a zerg by using stealth to keep out of danger and then pop in to get the kill…./repeat.

Just because they aren’t in the train doesn’t mean they aren’t contributing. And a thief that can scout the enemy zerg is invaluable.

Must have been some pretty bad players then. On SBI, if a Thief tries to do that with our army, he gets stomped almost immediately.

I’ll give you the scouting part, though.

Its a very chaotic situation where most are focussing on what they can see…..the zerg.

How good or bad a player is has nothing to do with their ability to see a thief in stealth.
Unless you have some special ability that no one else has I suspect you would be killed just like anyone else.

I know all the fights I have been in the Commander always tries to hit the other team in the middle to try and focus the soft targets in back first. Having thieves focus them would be a boon to any group composition. Allowing them to do what they do best and helping their team in the process.

Any class and spec can work with a zerg. It all depends on what you want to do to contribute. Condition specs have a purpose, since they force enemy players to back off and blow their removal skills, keeping them off the front line, while burst damage specs help take out guards, lords, and enemy players that much faster. Meanwhile, support specs help keep your army in good shape, which I feel is a must since about 80% of the people in a zerg are idiots that just blindly follow whichever moron has the blue dorito.

Except for Thief, at least. Only thing they’re good at is running away.

I see it now. Come Monday when the matches are already decided the 2nd and 3rd servers see a big population loss because everyone is in the overflow since what they do Mon-Fri in WvW doesn’t matter anyways.

It looks to me that the new overflow will just make WvW worse and create even more PvDoor.
