i personally have been upset ever since game came out about pistol auto attack. in beta the explosion applied the bleeding in an AoE, and the skill read “bleeding nearby foes”. when the game released it no longer applied bleeding to nearby targets.even for a long time(probably 8 months or so) into the game is had that same tool tip. i found this feature one of the best things about engineer since u could shoot so a cannon in wvw and bleed the person on it. much later in the game i discovered coated bullets and i understand why they made the change but i think they should have increased to bleed duration to compensate to the loss of AoE
I recall a while back(month or so ago) they changed the way mobs behaved to player stealthing. the mobs used to just stop everything and reset like no big deal. now mobs will proceed to continue the attack as if the player was still where he/she went invisible and would also use some predictive following techniques i believe if the player was moving when going invisible
also saw this happen today: exact steps it happened in, ranger fell in lava during the destroyer boss in CoE and used his GS dash and died at same moment and was teleported out of the lava. as vilkata stated, the ranger couldnt see the bird but rest of party could, persisted the rest of the dungeon run i believe

since you are no longer a necromancer you have no control over your mindless undead minions, they simply lose your grip of control and die again. where as engineer turrets are built, elementalists and guardians use magic and rangers use nature rituals. magic, machines and rituals dont need mental control over them to function as a bound undead does
this only happens when you are turned to stone i think, i noted this exact same thing happened to me when i used box of fun(medusa) and then did a commune skill point, i was able to stack 25 confusion on myself, was quiet amusing
Am also not getting emerald leaper in the mists and I just did every jumping puzzle twice now
some more mesmers showed up, seemed to be the height of our greatness before I had to get some sleep
wasn’t this a 20 second cooldown skill? patch notes fail to reflect the increase
Why does this precursor not have an alternative way of obtaining it’s skin in PvE? I don’t much care for the legendary rifle, but I would love to have the hunter for the skin. It just doesn’t seem worth spending all that money on precursor and not make it a legendary and such. Basically all precursor weapons need other exotics with the same skin.

what is generating this might for you? food, sigils, and runes? allies giving you the might and waypointing? i just dont see where 25 comes from with out using your blast finishers
my mind is blown how you all manage to have all ascended trinkets with the same stats and ALLof them have offensive infusion slots.
also @ArmageddonAsh.6430 sigil of bursting is like 100 times better then force, should looks into it, 6% condition damage is pretty good stuff, also u could have earth or poison sigil all the time since two weapons and just swap the corruption to bursting like I do

screenshots? video? reproduction steps? this post could use some more information so they better understand what is happening and how to reproduce it to fix it
the instrument volume applies to the boom box so it wouldn’t be an issue if they made it louder to be on par with other instruments or if it worked in wvw

So the Wolrd 1 Super Boom Box is really quiet; even with instrument volume all the way up all the other instruments are WAY louder then the boom box amd people can barely hear the boom box. Please make the boom box louder because currently it is a whisper box and I would love to share this wonderful tune with anyone who opts in player instrument sounds. Also I would love to be able to share the moral boost with my fellow Tyrians in World vs World when we are running around and would like some tunes, currently the sounds of the mist war are too loud of my quiet boom box to even turn on(boom box doesnt work in WvW, yet other instuments do).

@orion pax, I change my utility skills all the time to adjust to different situations, same with my food; general pve and wvw roaming: + condition duration food, wvw zerging or in an outnumbered situation: lifesteal on crit. but my build is settler’s armor, rabid or apothecary work just fine as well, giver’s weapons with sigil of corruption and sigil of earth, when i stack corruption i swap to bursting, but restoration works great in zerg fights in wvw or sigil of blood over earth for more sustain and life-steal. right now i am using runes of perplexity, since it is rather easy to interrupt with an engineer in wvw against people who aren’t using a lot of stability(i personally think the amount of confusion it applies needs to be toned down a little bit to perhaps 2 stack on hit and 3-4 stacks on interupt). breakdown on traits now: i would say the 10 points in explosives for bruns on crits is one of condition engineer’s greatest single target damage, i would recommend at least 20 in firearms(not 30 since most people NEED speedy kits to play engineer) for piercing pistol shots, when i 1st saw this back when it was a grand-master i was thinking it sounded awful, man was i wrong once you realize that each shot explodes and you can hit like at least 5 balled up targets(zergs or pve) that is like 25 hits(see attached pictures), also it can hit 1 target twice at near max range(actually happens quiet a bit). I basiclly fire my pistol into zergs(mind the retal though) for my bread and butter in zerg fights where as most engineers would be tossing slow grenades. the 1st 10 point trait in firearms is mostly optional, i prefer the pistol range increase, again just so i can penetrate my shots deeper into a zerg. 30 alchemy is mostly optional/situation traits, but i would say automated response is a near must have especially with the swell of new condition users wvw seems to have these days. being immune to all incoming conditions while below 25% hp is AMAZING, many of times i have been able to beat people just because i can get low and stay low and they can barely scratch me, or i was able to escape a dying situation because someone couldn’t immobilize me or they couldn’t inflict any damaging conditions to finish me off. i would recommend invigorating speed to compliment speedy kits of the other trait i would chose amoung blood injection(mostly in pve, not best wvw trait option), backpack generator(solid source of hp gain, stacks with regen and pusle healing), protection injection, or self-regulating defenses(works wonders with automated response). for pve i would recommend grenade kit, bomb kit, elixir gun, or flame turret. in wvw i would recommend tool kit(extra blocks, pull people off walls, cripple foes chasing you), rocket boots(good escape/chasing mechanism, also removes movement impairing conditions), elixir gun(blast finisher with optional leap, ranged bouncing cripple, massive ally condition removal, aoe heal with condition remove and lingering healing, good single target weakness and bleeding), or elixir s. i wouldn’t recommend flamethrower in most situations since the piercing pistol tags enemies tons better and at much more range. the only time i would use flamethrower is if u was attacking of defending through a gate against just a few people. basically try all the utilities skills and find what ones work best for each situation or what you play best with. my trinkets are all condition dmg, toughness, vit, and little of precision. if you don’t have access to ascended trinkets, pick up exotic rabid ones or apothecary. but this is all just how i play engineer, there are plenty of other effective ways to play engineer.
I have been playing engineer since headstart; after logging in well over 2000 hours on my engineer, I would just like to say thank you arenanet for all improvements and quality of life changes. The day kits gained weapon bonus stats was probably the hallelujah moment for me. With all this game time spent playing this one profession, I just have a couple suggestions/ideas: 1. make bombs from bomb kit be placed 25-50 units in front of character. Currently if you use a bomb kit in pve without the extra bomb radius trait, you walk right next to a mob and place a fire bomband the mob will then take a few steps away from you to adjust to it’s set melee range or something dumb, usually walking outside of the bomb’s radius the during a good majority of the bomb’s duration, having bombs be placed right in front of your character would also make the animation looks more solid instead of the character bending down and setting hand in front of character and bomb appears at heels. 2. Perhaps an alternative skill set option for harpoon-gun for condition users. I understand we have great kits to address this issue of little condition damage on the harpoon-gun, and bleeds were even added to one of the skills, but I would to be able to attack with my Frenzy(legendary harpoon-gun) and it be a little more meaningful like a ranger’s autoattack with harpoon-gun. 3. Add more effect to skills when using a legendary. This is primarily addressing the grenade barrage with Predator. Currently grenade barrage only has the awesome Predator effect when grenadier is traited. It would be nice to see legendary effect works on more kit skills and without requiring certain traits.

The added confusion duration is not working, tested this many times, with a skill causing 4s of confusion I am only getting the duration listed over normal mobs as 3s(how duration should look for 4s of something since last second counts down to 0); but with a total 30% more confusion duration I should have at least 1 more second on the duration thus making the duration show 4s when moused over. Have tried with several different confusion causing skill and not gaining the additional duration.

exactly, dont bring up sudjestions for builds when that isnt the point of this post in game bugs, this is about something areanet simply needs brought to thier attention. probably just something they missed while focusing on event bugs

I agree, completely with the jotun being the issue the OP is experiencing. I noticed same thing when I was working a little on jotun slayer. I assume the jotun have the strength to be able to knock bundles out of people’s hand. Simply something ANet needs to add to their description or fix.
It would be nice if the dungeon master progress would show which path were lacking
I run 2900 armor and never seem to have problems with theives unless there are more than 1. also your build would benefit quiet a bit with a kit and shield since u are wvw. thieves are easily countered by pressing 5 with shield equiped
seems to be just a tooktip bug
with 2k condition damage my bleeding with arrowcarts was 18k, with the improved conditions arrowcart mastery, the skill no longer scales with condition damage; only does 10.2k dmg no matter what

So today for the 1st time, I noticed on the vendor screen items have a + in the corner of their icons. WHAT IS IT!? It is driving me mad now and my guildies are saying it has been there forever, and I just not noticed it after over 2000 hours. Please help
