Empyreal Fragments are a nightmare to get right now. It’s going to take me weeks to get enough and you want to time gate them!?!??!

Loot basic chests, each gives 2-4 Empyreal Fragments. If you got some alts it is not overly hard to get the necessary Fragments.

On topic, i don’t think the OP deserves some of the reactions he got in this thread. I can actually understand where his idea comes from, i was surprised myself that Bloodstone and Dragonite Bricks aren’t time-gated. It just wouldn’t change a lot if they were, it would take only a bit longer to craft Ascended weapons.

Again, gating these things render the ecto refinement items worthless(or very close). If you can’t get the other items faster than the already gated items there is no point in ever buying those items.

Did it instantly reset to full HP or did it regen quickly like it was leashing? The leash regen is usually caused by pulling it too far but that is not the only thing that can trigger it.

If the game thinks you have moved to an unreachable spot due a weird bit of ground geometry then it can trigger that as well. If you have used ranged attacks you will probably have encountered cases where you get Obstructed by thin air so the path finding is far from perfect.

Megadestroyer was already pretty interesting except they always forgot about it when it came to rewards. When they added bonus chests? No chest for Megadestroyer. When they added Dragonite Ore? Not Dragonite Ore for Megadestroyer. Hopefully they won’t forget again.

The important thing here is that they bosses are actually more interesting and not just a larger pile of HP and harder hitting skills. That isn’t really more interesting or necessarily harder. See karka queen for an example of that particular failure.

What are you talking about karka queen is super easy and has highest rewards in the game 5 champ boxes 2 rares/exotics and nice loot? If anything she is to week. Rue about mega being left out though.

The queen itself is pretty easy. What size group are you doing the pre events with?

What about champion loot increasing (or decreasing) the longer (shorter) it stays up? What I’m saying that like EXP people should be rewarded for doing champions that aren’t usually killed!

It wouldn’t really change much. Just like EXP there would be a cap. It would just extend the farming into multiple maps. Maybe not even that.

Also while more exp is very visible and it even shows up in the log. “better loot” would be completely invisible. It is not something someone is going to notice unless they go around farming champions with a stopwatch and possibly taking notes of the loot drops.

I lol’d at the Mega Destroyer buff.

The ones that should only be buffed are the ones farmed on a regular respawn basis. But this is a step in the right direction and is long overdue. Thanks Anet.

Next project will be fixing the stupid fixed timers and fixed respawn location (although this one might be tricky) making it very random to allow for a more world exploration/discovery/surprise type of encounter and not like:

Check dragon timers —> WP to dragon --> spam auto attack —> loot.

If they randomize the respawn rates, I will kittening quit this game. It will be bad enough trying to organize 80 people to get kitten done, and then throw in the fact that you will have no idea WHEN the kitten goes down, then kittening forget it. I dont have time to sit in a zone for hours on end just waiting for some boss to randomly spawn. That would be the worst idea ever. Less people would be willing to do boss fights if they have no kittening clue when theyre happening. And less people for the Teq fight will be counter productive. Bad idea dude….very bad idea.

I am not sure which game you guys are playing but all the GW2 world bosses already have randomized respawn. There is a fixed minimum so you don’t have a situation where you kill it and it immediately pops up again. Random is also irrelevant given the events API … well unless you are on a EU server then that will probably be broken for at least another month it seems.

Some t6 are easier than others … Armored Scales and Powerful Venom Sacs are relatively easy. Vials of Powerful Blood isn’t too bad either. This is assuming you can get around 200% MF.

I’m thinking it may have to do more with the all the skill flash effects since culling is removed, maybe anet toning down on all the skill effects. Would help the players see what we are targeting in the big groups and cause less lag/skill lag.

Yes, your crashes would be related to culling be removed. With culling gone and depending on your Character Limit and Character Quality settings more people are showing up on screen so more memory is needed to store the armor texture, meshes for the character model, weapon model, weapon meshes and whatever else might be needed to render a character. Depending on how the engine handles things the additional spiderlings and summons might contribute to the problem as well.

IN the Grove? There isn’t any jumping puzzle in any of the cities. The only things that count as jumping puzzles are those things with an associated achievement under General→Jumping Puzzles. There are 4 in Caledon Forest.

I know i cant see my own star. others cant see it. and if i didnt open a chest somewhere how would i get the chest again? by going back into the zone?

1) you don’t see your own star
2) you must open all chests from all completed maps to get the gift of exploration, I have no idea why some people leave these lying around but there has been a bunch of threads where people have done that

I would assume that is the case. I’ve never done that myself. I’ve only seen a bunch of different people post with similar problem to you and that turned out to be the problem.

They were meant to take longer. Not necessarily a long time. The time estimate Lindsey gave on the stream was “2 weeks”.

That aside, time gating those things would render the spirit wood, deldrimor ingot and elonian leather pretty much worthless which is the opposite of what they wanted. The entire point of time gating those is so that once you got to lv500 crafting they retain some value even when you are all done with your own ascended weapons.

All gear that is the same level and rarity are equal in stats assuming they have the same prefix. It doesn’t matter if it is crafted/from a dungeon/bought from a vendor/dropped by a mob. They are all the same. The only thing that can be different is the look.

Missing one in Rebel’s Seclusion in Fireheart Rise, on the way to the big chest there is a smaller one guarded by a ghost. It is easy to walk past without seeing it. It is near the rich platinum vein.

The fix is prepared. My goal is to be able to release updates and fixes with reasonably fast turn-around. But due to some process changes we are implementing internally, I need to get some infrastructure setup first before I am able to get this released. I expect updates going forward will be roughly on a two-week cadence, similar to our content releases.

Will that be fixing the broken event reporting in the EU or is that a separate thing?

Not a lot of exploding or destroyable objects in GW2 so none of the obvious particle physics of debris. Maybe cloth. Do ponytails move up when falling?

Probably not cloth. Yes to ponytails or at least the equivalent on an sylvari.
Also floppy ears on Asura.

It is also possible some of this stuff is being used during development and then recorded and just replayed instead of being done on the fly on each client. It would be less dynamic but it retains the benefit of being faster to develop and not require all the clients to have sufficiently high spec.

The Champion Giant in far Eastern Harathi in the caves. He has an obscene amount of health!

The Krait Queen in south Timberline deserves a mention. Few do her simply because she seems to hit harder than the Elder Dragons and Shiro combined…

There is a duplicate of the krait in mount maelstrom. Neither are worth the effort. There is hitting hard and there is covering nearly the entire platform with AoE. Then there is summoning veterans. On top of that I believe the summons includes the ones that will knockback. So your choices are to get knocked off and reset the fight or possibly dodge into AoE which will cover you with every condition. All that just for the usual champion loot and a normal chest.

Anet is not going to rebuild their game from the ground up just to use the Unreal engine. I’m sorry, but there’s no way this will ever happen. Decisions like these needed to be made on Day 1 of the planning stage of development.

Duke Nukem Forever makes a pretty good argument for why that needs to be done.

It can be soloed i done it solo with 4 different professions. Ele, Warrior, Ranger and Guardian… i might have done it with an Engi, but not sure i would have to check.

At this point I question your knowledge on your classes along with your combat ability. I have never died to her even once.

Suggestions:

  • You can dodge her attacks.
  • Since she is ranged melee does a lot more to her.
  • Side stepping and never standing still will make 60-90% of her attacks miss.
  • Take out Noxia first before engaging her. Noxia can be pulled.
  • ensure your gear is not to low below your lvl

edit: when i mean side stepping i mean going back and forth fast like press D and hold D for half a sec then press A for a half a sec and do that. Once you learn to perform this skill correctly you can use it in WvW and PVP and watch as most ranged attacks miss you espically a rangers rapid fire or any other skill that grants repeated shots.

Are you actually serious? You’re saying you can avoid projectiles by sidestepping? I have to admit I’m skeptical. As far as I can see, projectiles will hit no matter what unless you use an actual dodge/evade mechanic. Or if you stand behind an obstacle. It’s an MMO, not an ARPG. Avoiding the animation doesn’t avoid the attack.

And beyond all that, how are you supposed to avoid being squished in seconds by three ravens and two veterans? And even if you survive the initial attack, how do you recover and survive the next wave? Healing does little and you can’t evade every thing.

Come on, be serious. Can you really solo this fight without being downed at least once? Sorry, I just don’t see it.

I am serious you can dodge attacks by side stepping that’s including melee attacks. Circling your opponent will make his attacks miss. Side stepping and making the the game over shoot happens as well when it comes to ranged. The game tries to calculate where you will be in the instant the arrow is released therefor it leads the target. If the arrow does not hit your hit bow because you went in the opposite direction it will miss. Try it out some time. I do it all the time in WvW and PVE. Avoiding the animation in this case does avoid the attack cause the combat system is ARPG.

I can solo her without being downed once. Your over thinking it and based on what you have said you do not understand how the combat system in this game works. If the animation does not hit your hit box then you do you not take the damage. This game is about skill not item based like most MMOs. Understanding how the combat system works helps you in the long run.

For example just recently my lvl30 (even scaled up mathematically disadvantaged) mesmer wearing masterwork armor defeated 1v1 in WvW defeated a lvl80 mesmer wearing exotics. In any nonARPG combat MMO i would mathematically would have lost but since i understand the combat system and that it is ARPG i was able to out skill my opponent and defeated them.

Wow, I never knew that. I’ll give it a try. To be honest, I never put much thought into the combat system. I just assumed it was the same as other MMOs. That said, though, I do fine in most fights. It’s only this one that seems impossible, lol.

Wait until you run into the version of this where Noxia is permanently invulnerable …

That thing was ruthless back in the day.

It is actually still fairly ruthless. That part is just not very noticeable if you are in a large group or on a squishy character. It is actually more dangerous than the possessed statue of dwayna.

Create a new tab that only shows whispers then /w yourself a list of the WP. Leave that opened the whole time and it should only take you 3 clicks per move. As for the load time that will depend on what kind of hardware you have. kitten will give a huge improvement. If you want the faster load time without the hardware investment you can also turn down the quality of various settings. Lower resolution things take up less space so they will take less time to read from disk.

If you want anything higher than rare you’ll need to do FotM for the armor. I guess it will also be available as ascended eventually but you’ll probably need to do FotM to get the insignias as well …

Remember that not all of those chests give out empyreals. The one in Jotun camp in Wayfarer (the one with potato farm) doesn’t. So some of the jumping puzzle chests.

That one doesn’t behave like other chests anyway. No progress bar when opening. You just run up, F and get one item.

Edit: There is one in Lornar’s Pass at Ironhammer’s Crypt but I haven’t been able to figure out how to make it appear. It isn’t always there but I’ve opened at least twice.

Yeah…I know. I think this game does pretty well with armors but they can do so much more…

This is definitely one of those things where GW1 did it better. Just between Mesmer and Monk there are 25+(didn’t count some of the slightly shorter ones for monk) pants!

Aside from the lack of pants. GW2 has too many “I can’t decide if these should be pants or skirts so lets just go with half and half”.

Well at least these are straight forward crashes. Just out of memory. You might find that surprising since you have 8gb but GW2 is still a 32bit program so it will run into that long before it gets anywhere near 8gb.

The possible workarounds are …
1) lower your settings
2) do the event on a less populated world
3) leave in the middle of the event and go back for the loot afterwards

As for people not getting credit I’ve noticed a possible issue the other day when using my engineer but any AoE heavy class is going to run into this. I noticed that despite a bajillion damage numbers showing up I didn’t get any credit for either of the champ spiders(I still got credit for the event and the chests). I am guessing all the useless adds ate all my damage so that while I was dealing a lot of damage it was all to things that didn’t give any credit.

Not sure what you are trying to report here aside from the corpse not disappearing. This doesn’t have anything to do with collision. You can walk through all enemies even when they are alive. You only collide with them if you have melee assist enabled.

The corpse does disappear sometime around the start of the pre-event.

20 per day … uh that is less than 1 per dungeon path. There are usually at least 2 per path …

That aside. Just play and stop worrying about what other people are doing. Those champ farms are boring and tedious anyway.

Instead of an artificial time gate, why not just move the boxes off Champions and to the successful completion of events, instead?

The larger, more difficult the event, the better the box.

Fine in theory but that turns it into an all or nothing situation. That just kicks the impact from d/c and crashes up a few notches. The larger, more difficult the event the bigger amount of time wasted. You only have to check the bugs/tech support sections occasionally to see that those are frequent enough that they are an issue.

There are also plenty of champions which aren’t related to any event. Most of the ones being farmed in frostgorge fall under this category.

200 Healing Power would give 155/s healing from Regeneration.
Healing Rain applies 4 stacks of 1s Regeneration in 3 pulses
so that should be 155 * 12 for you or 1860. It looks like the tooltip is calculating for 4 pulses instead of 3.

For you
2480 / (130 + 0.125 * 200) = 16 / 4s = 4 pulses

On my ele it is
2366 / (130 + 0.125 * 143) = 16 / 4 = 4 pulses
2724 / (130 + 0.125 * 322) = 16 / 4 = 4 pulses
2868 / (130 + 0.125 * 394) = 16 / 4 = 4 pulses

If you are wondering about the 161 instead of the 155. That should be from the WvW bonuses. Which would mean your world had a score between 66,720 and 88,960 when you took the screenshots for +4% healing.
1.04 * (130 + 0.125 * 200) = 161.2 Regeneration
1.04 * (80 + 0.05 * 200) = 93.6 Soothing Mist

I haven’t got any from Shaman’s Rookery, and I open that one nearly every day.

Are you doing that with a level 80 character? I don’t do that every day but I’ve been running over sometimes after Maw and I am pretty sure it has always given a couple of fragments. Wiki also confirms that it gives 2-4.

I’m putting off finishing my scepter until lfg tool comes out. I have yet to have gotten any dragonite(attempted once but balthazar failed) but have done some JP and WvW for empyreal mostly because that stuff is soloable/passive. I was done with bloodstones with just a few champion bags saved from doing my monthly over the holiday weekend.

Doesn’t have to be a temple for dragonite. Pretty much everything on gw2stuff.com except megadestroyer and possibly karka queen gives dragonite. Golem Mark II is probably the best choice if you want it quick. Fast respawn time and easy to solo.

The jumping puzzle rewards are still pretty piddly. You get more bloodstone dust for doing one loop around Queensdale for champ boxes, and you can’t say those events are difficult.

Also for some reason, half of the HARDER jump puzz’s I’m doing, their chests aren’t giving anything at all. I don’t know if that’s intentional but it’s pretty lame.

The one behind Hope Falls (malchors) … Griffon Run after getting to it with the Bomb … Goem’s Lab, Dierdre’s Steps … etc. All examples. It seems like “Exploring” puzzles give more. (where you fight stuff more than Jump)

It’s because the ascended material only drops for level 80 characters.

At least in the case of Hidden Garden(the one in Deidre Steps), that doesn’t matter. Even a lv80 won’t get any fragments.

They just need to boost the amount give by jumping puzzles in my opinion. Keep it around 5-10 for the regular chests. 10-15 for the simple jumping puzzles, and 20-30 for the longer and more difficult puzzles and mini dungeons.

I certainly wouldn’t mind being able to get them easier but which puzzle/mini-dungeon is actually difficult enough that it should give 20-30? This is in relation to the fact that regular dungeons only give 20. Which JP takes over 20-30 minutes?

I actually tried to fight her and found that she’s a machine gun dart shooter, so….yeah, no wonder she goes unfought, along with her being very out of the way to get to.

Up until the “new” boss chests, the rewards for killing her were horrid. Makes me wonder what her rewards are on the new scale…

In the beta killing her spawned a big chest (like a world boss). It seems like they might have forgotten to adjust the difficulty for the reward or the chest was removed by accident.
