Since the Champion Boxes Update I looted a lot(compared to “not a single one” before).
For example Charged Lodestones and Cores.
Before the Champion update they only dropped for me while farming Air Elementals or doing CoE.
And now i get them in boxes while playing whatever i want.
Their drop rates from temple chests also seems to be buffed but I’ve been doing the temples more often so that migth be skewing perspective. On the other hand I would imagine there are also other people doing temples more often for the dragonite as well. Even if the rate hasn’t be increased more people doing the temple events means more cores/lodestones will be generated too.

If you use only range and only go 1v1 against melee enemies then it would be great but otherwise it looks like the least useful boon for this purpose.
According to the patch notes they will be returning.
The Mystic Forge recipes for The Mad Moon, Arachnophobia, and The Crossing have been temporarily disabled. They will be updated and return at Halloween.
I made a 450g the other evening selling some of my hoarded stacks of ori ingots and ancient planks, All stuff I harvested and salvaged over quite a few months.
I am happy all those harvesting runs have finally paid off, but I suspect prices will go down once the rush to be the ’first’’ to craft ascended items tails off. Someone has already done a greatsword, so this might happen sooner than later.
My advice is to enjoy selling while you can.
For wood maybe. Don’t forget ascended armor crafting is coming as well.
Uh … you plan on fighting things without ever getting hit?
Well there are ascended items. Those are all account bound. Only weapons for now but armor will be added sometime this year.
On the other hand you don’t really need ascended items. Everything can be done with exotic(or even rares and masterwork).
At lv500 crafting you can also make the time gated items and sell to other people but it cost quite a bit to get to 500 so it would take a long time to recoup the cost if you do it just for that reason.
You have chosen a great profession to advance. Why? Because huntsman is the only one that can produce the leather thingy currently.
You left out the most important part.
Thick Leather Sections can finally stop being useless!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!(imagine the rest of this post filled with !s)
If you’ve done world completion but still don’t have all areas unlocked then don’t worry about it. Do you have all jumping puzzles done? If not, you’ll probably want to sooner or later … and you’ll probably get all the missing areas along the way.
Hehe … doing all JPs + all Personal Story paths took care of several of the problem areas without me ever realizing.
The one poi is probably Chantry of Secrets but those explorer achievements are not related to world completion. Those are for uncovering areas on the map. Sometimes they are areas which have no POI/heart/WP so if you just did world completion you’ll end up with a few missing.
Edit: actually since you have the 100% medal the missing poi is probably something recently added. Do you have the second aetherblade site in gendarran fields or the dead end bar in divinity’s reach? You can just hover over each of the map names to check the completion status to find the one with the newly added POI.
Define ‘viable’ and in what format(sPvP, open PvE, dungeons, WvW)? Different formats require different things.
I don’t use any buffs on my Engineer except for swiftness to run around. I do use Elixir C but having a condition removal is a good idea. Standard utilities for me are Grenade Kit, Elixir Gun, Elixir C with Pistol/Pistol. 30/25/0/0/15 for traits.
As for my guardian, it’s mostly retaliation and swiftness as well.
Our first listing: A Champion Risen Spider in Sparkfly Fen.
That thing is nasty, I wandered in while mapping on a warrior, I didn’t initially realize that it was a champ. A few seconds later and I was immobile and the hatchlings were snacking on me. No condition remover meant I died very quickly
I remember fighting that one with a friend. It was funny because he was on his mesmer. In the middle of the fight he said “looks like other people came join in the fight” then a few moments later “oh wait those are just my clones”.

That is the minimum ANet specifies. The 2.0GHz looks okay but the 2gb is probably pushing things. My GW2 is using around 1.2GB right now, this could probably be lower if I lower some of the settings. If I add in what my browser is using that is 1.7GB and then you need to leave some for the OS.

I would suggest keeping at least one pistol in your bag because it is a very good kiting weapon. My main issue with shotbow is that the attacks bounce and have AoE, which can often pull nearby yellow mobs, making a fight harder than it needs to be. It is useful in events for tagging everything so you can get credit though.
I actually do that on purpose. I usually use Signet of Malice so that will increase the heals I get as well as damage since you need at least 2 targets around to keep it bouncing. I also have a Sigil of Blood on my shortbow so that increases the number of chances for it to proc as well.
Choking Gas + Cluster Bomb is also useful applying weakness which will lower your incoming damage in case you miss a dodge.
YES, you can farm any level above 20+ and get a shard drop!
But what about at something as low as level 1? Can we solo farm the grawl (for example) and get it? I’ve seen conflicting reports on the wiki and around the internet. Some say it can drop at any level, some say at level 10, etc. Thanks.
For Vial of Condensed Mists Essence then yes unless ANet went out of their way to write code just to make things not drop when soloing.
Edit: Solo farming vials doesn’t look very efficient. 1 shard gets you 9 vials but it takes 25 vials to make one shard.

I refined some 3 hours ago and it was working. You need the artificer profession for it and as far as i know, it doesnt give exp as it is a basic recipe.
A lv0 artificer could get some exp.
I have no idea how I have to send all the information what the technicians are asking for
Implies that this person is already talking to support …
Judging from the posts by support on the forum they give step by step instruction on how to get and send the information they ask for.
Is that person certain it was from a salvage and not finishing the monthly?
surely not just any green items right? like not just some random level 5s will do?
Any will do. Haven’t really noticed a huge difference in results between lv80’s and the low level stuff I get in Queensdale. Masterwork does seem better than fine regardless of level.
20% assuming you were at 0% before.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Luck_Bar
The one from the mail gives 2500 luck points. In the long run it’s not that hard to replace. Maybe around 2g(so just 2 dungeon runs should be able to replace it).
Edit: Actually just doing dungeons in general will provide plenty of items to salvage for essences of luck.
One location? The only time I see people in the wrong location(this is from the party “window”) is when they are in a dungeon or WvW. Whenever someone is in WvW it shows them as being on Anvil Rock which is a NA server even though we are on an EU server.
I’m Curious, does Salvaging Crafted Exotics produce no Dark Matter?
Which type of Exotic items did you guys Salvage?
Mine were all drops.
http://www.reddit.com/r/Guildwars2/comments/1li5q3/breakeven_points_of_power_vs_precision_mathtable/
so according to the numbercrunchers, power trumps precision in nearly all situations, ie Berserker’s remains the optimal choice.
Assassin’s gear is comparable tho, and really cheap at the moment. I’ll maybe allocate it a few slots.
That chart seems to be missing an important row. The one for 100%+ crit rate.
It is not on every salvage, not even with a black lion kit.
If you have multiple characters, the Maelstrom golem might be the best way to farm on a per hour basis as it spawns hourly and gives 20+ ores per kill.
But does that lockout per character/account?
I did the Golem twice one day, and the second time there was no chest at all. Maybe that was a bug, but I figured that I just wasn’t able to claim the chest again.
It is per characters. I’ve gotten them from fire elemental, jungle, wurm, golem and temple of dwayna on multiple characters on the same day. There does seem to be a bug(or maybe the dragonite just has a very high but not 100% drop rate like how you can get bag of wonderous goods or an trinket in dungeons) where you might not get the dragonite even if it is your first time doing it. Did the lyssa temple with a friend and she didn’t get any dragonite.
If this is indeed the case that would solve the alt problem. It would not surprise me if this is by design.
Is the chest for world bosses once a day per character?
The big chest that spawns is once per character per day. The one with the rare+ is once per account per day. The big chest is the one that contains the dragonite.
The only show up for rares. You have stopped seeing them because the game has stopped trolling with the queen’s gauntlet tickets.
Don’t get me wrong, Claw is my favorite world boss. And back before they gave rares and were only 1/day, I would kill him 2ish times a day for fun.
But now that the world bosses have standardized loot he does need a little bit of love. Thankfully it isn’t as bad as the karka queen (haven’t fought her since her most recent changes so I don’t know how good they are), but 2 rares was not worth all the work it took to fight her. I’d argue that even Claw should maybe have more rewards. But then again maybe not. Look at FE, if you do the entire preevent it can take ~15min to kill. About the same for kitten, Golem, FS (give or take 5 min). It’s just that claw alone takes 15-20 mins to kill by himself, and you have his pre event also taking a bit of time (another 5-10 min).
Again, I do the event before it has to be one of my favorites in the game, but maybe it could use a slight boost to its loot, maybe 2 rares. Though if certain longer world bosses started dropping 1 exotic, I wouldn’t complain either, but that’s me being a bit greedy.
… and then you have the megadestroyer which has neither rare nor dragonite. Potentially even a longer pre-event chain. On the other hand the fight itself is more fun and it doesn’t feel like giant pile of pointless HP.
Both claw and golem seems to have broken scaling. The more people you have at golem the longer it takes. The minimum number of people for claw seems a bit too high. Below that number and it starts taking ridiculous amounts of time.
All the dragon events are pretty boring. It is more or less just standing around with auto attacks. Claw phase 2 adds a bit but the mechanics is still very rough. You are supposed to protect the golems but there aren’t any effective ways to do that besides destroying the icicles.
If you have multiple characters, the Maelstrom golem might be the best way to farm on a per hour basis as it spawns hourly and gives 20+ ores per kill.

I’m really thankful this material is available through a variety of sources including the open world chests. I like WvW, but it’s not that reliable since you never know if you’ll log in on the night when your side is doing well. I’m not a big fan of jumping puzzles so it’s nice there are other options.
Orr Temples will probably see more activity. One nice thing about these new mats, I finally got to do the Temple of Balthazar lol
For these it is easier if your side NOT doing well. Easiest would be when the enemy owns everything and you are outmanned. If your side owns everything there is nothing to kill for this loot.
Well based on the wiki page for luck you need 2,775,280 just to get to 99% so I am thinking it will be a good deal over 4.2 million to cap it off at 300%.
It says 118,460 for 99%. Where the heck did you get 2,775,280 from?
You say this has been tested but I don’t see anything describing the testing methodology.

Those all exist but they are crafted using recipes(rare drop) dropped in dungeons.
For the ring and accessory you could also buy them on the trading post. The items are Ring of Blood and Vallog’s Demise. For the back item and amulet you have to get the recipe yourself because the items they create are account bound.
That sounds like you would need to contact support.
Those items are once per account but they should have been in the mail. If you took them out of the mail and then deleted the character holding them … I am not sure what to say.
Thanks for your feedback Rhodoc! I wasn’t aware there was a max time limit cap. I am sure the time limit was instituted to prevent permanent boons from going into effect. I can understand not wanting 120 seconds of max 25 might stacks. The problem is people are being punished for speccing into boon duration. No one says, “gee, you can’t have more than 2500 power, as that would be OP.” Whether it is or isn’t, some of us care about dealing damage or dealing with incoming damage in more than the old hit him harder first paradigm. I would like to know if I stick 100 or 120 into this attribute that I can get that much out in some way even if limits are placed. I don’t know of any cap on condition damage for instance, and except for necromancers running lingering curse I can’t see any way to even hit the max cap on condition duration….I guess my rant comes down to the fact I don’t understand why the boon duration buff gets the most hate for feasibility out of the bunch?
Actually it’s been tested and mentioned on a couple of threads already. The condition duration cap is effectively 100% but over 100% is useful when your opponent has -condition duration.
You can get +117% Condition Duration with 2x Superior Rune of the Mad King, 2x Superior Rune of Lyssa, 2x Major Rune of Lyssa, Rare Veggie Pizza, 2xGiver weapon. Probably a bit higher now with ascended weapons. Then there are the sigils.
Direct damage can be avoided through blind, block, dodge or even just walking out of the way in the case of AoE. Every class can do at least one of those.
Condition damage can be negated with condition removal and -condition duration. Every class has some way of removing 1 or more conditions at a time and possibly from their allies too.
Boon removal on the other hand is much harder to come by except maybe for Mesmer and Necromancer, possibly S/D thief.
This might be unrelate or related to topic but i d like to say that all newer boons are likely to fail to extend the duration of current boon if the current boon has already 40-50sec left. And this is %100 reproducable.
I regularly get over 2 minutes of fury and swiftness in WvW on my warrior who has 70% boon duration.
On your own or with other people? I remember getting weird things with trying to stack Swiftness on a dolyak. 3x banner + 2x warhorn. When we got around around 50s and tried adding more it actually dropped to 40somethin seconds. This was a couple of months ago.
“just salvage AC/TA crap, you’re welcome.”
What do you mean by AC/TA please ?
Ascalonian Catacombs, Twilight Arbor dungeon exotic weapons.
anything with those Prefixes you want work unless you can craft the inscription. That does not make any sense because neither of those dungeons offer gear with Soldier’s stats. Caudecu’s Manor does, and so does Sorrow’s Embrace, but not AC or TA
You are both half wrong.
http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Equipment_acquisition_by_stats#Dungeons
what’s the chance on salvaging inscriptions approx (with masters/black lion kits)? and can you salvage from any exotic crafted weapons?
2/3 salvaged so far but that obviously not a big enough sample size.
Any idea why the wood (ancient and elder) spiked a lot more than the metal (ori and mithril) did?
EDIT:My guess would be people are bee-lining for weaponsmith stuff, but is there something else I’m missing?…actually I have no idea because I thought everyone going nuts over greatswords would’ve driven metal up more…
In order to level these disciplines to 450, people need inscriptions, which are made from ancient wood as a primary ingredient. All of the weapon disciplines have this component. And the majority of artificer/huntsman recipes need wood as well, which is probably a secondary reason.
On top of all that, 3 log per plank, 2 ore per ingot.
I completed dwayna twice (before and after a reset) and lyssa once, and got no dragonite ore… are those not included in the orr temple count, is it a bug, or was I just unlucky? The only dragonite I received was from the shatterer.
Hmm a friend just ran into that as well with Lyssa. 3 of us were there but one person didn’t get the dragonite. Dwayna definitely gives it since I’ve gotten 90 from it so far(60 were on the same day using two different characters).
The artificer guide doesn’t take into account potions either. T6 venom + spinach + lettuce + water got me a good few post-425 levels on patch day.
Also sharpening stones/maintenance oils/tuning crystals. That ended up eating a bunch of ectos for dust but having the essence of luck as a side effect made that easier to decide.
I don’t think you’ll get anything for failing the world events. The items come from the chest.
Anyway the items without a number can drop more than one. Got 3 from a supervisor last when I went to check. You can also do these on alts and get more. They are per character not per account.
The lazers have always been there, both the ones across the floor and the ones coming down. The ones coming down spawn when starting the encounter. If someone has already opened the “door” they’re not there and you get to skip it.
Not sure what they do since… I’ve never touched them.
“It will probably kill you.” is always a safe assumption for anything created by an Asura. It doesn’t matter if the Asura in question is a friend or foe.
Pretty sure they were there before but I am certain they have been there since at least BotFW. I remember going there for the kite and during the fight with the golems I had ‘do not touch lasers’ going through my mind during the fight. I also remember thinking ‘ugh pushy golems + lasers >_<’.
First time I cleared that puzzle, there were no nasty lasers at the end.
Second time, there was and I died a very nasty death because I did not expect them. I’m not sure if I simply didn’t see them the first time, or if there’s something else that you can do/avoid that triggers them.
Did you fight the golems both times?
(edited by Khisanth.2948)
What sort of ‘other action’ and are you aware of the kitten ICD?
Are you referring to the cannons that shoot at you or the ones at the end? As far as I can remember both have always been there. Not sure about the deadliness of the ones at the end since I always avoided them because they do not look safe.
That refers to the WXP Booster you can buy from the store which last for 1 hour.
The splitter was also sent to people with transmuted precursors.
