I don’t understand. Some people are fine with ascended gear, with wxp buffs like applied fortitude, with outrageously uneven matchups and coverage problems, and with bloodlust.

But a guild spends 1 hour on a dead thursday night to play a GvG, and they lose their minds because it’s ‘unbalancing’ WvW.

There’s several factions here besides yours. First, There’s people who care about PPT. On NA t1, gvg does indeed eat up valuable queues. That upsets the hardcore wvw’ers.

Then you got the people who think train v train isn’t actually an organized esport. They believe it involves less skill than tpvp. Many pvp players fall into the category. I am one of them. I tend to question if we really want gvg in the current format. I tend to think more critically about things. For me, I call it train v train because it does not represent any kind of gvg that I enjoy.

Then you have ANET. They’re professional devs so they will take a more disciplined approach to gvg design. A problem for them is that they tend to agree with the tpvp’ers in terms of how competitive “gvg” really is. They would say it’s a degenerate form of combat by their criteria. However, it’s something many in the community like. So how do they deliver on that while also keeping everyone happy and making it competitive?

After that, you have the wvw dvs like devon who have been dragged through the mud for doing their jobs.

I think everyone needs to look at it critically like that. Try to understand the other side’s perspective. We’re all smart people. How can smart people disagree? They have a different vantage point. Learn what that is before raging and burning bridges.

Ill say it again, from SoR perspective we do not care about the PPT, our server commanders have told us ALL to not care about the ppt, just win our fights, adapt and learn. It leads to a healthier community. I dont know what the situation is like on BG or JQ, but dont group us with them.

He shouldn’t be fired because he tagged up. That’s the…. maybe last thing I have to say. I hope the higher ups are just shaking their heads at this and not taking any of this seriously. Just make it so no employees can ever tag up, ever again so people can never mention how they wronged them in any aspect of the game.

And thats the best thing he could have done in this situation. He didnt need to tag up, he did not need to lower himself. All he needed to do was to be the bigger man and walk away. But he didnt, thats the problem.

Sometimes I wonder why WvW guilds quit or change servers, I think I finally understand that some of them must have been told to play long hours and to play for ppt rather than to have fun once in a while. I mean a hardcore, by all accounts, wvw guild having a fun gvg at the end of a lopsided match is being called out by people who probebly PvE more than they WvW.

Exactly. I didn’t even see the employee being rude, just a bunch of people overreacting. I’ve seen a lot worse from guilds/commanders I actually like :P Guys, a random employee just stated he wanted to play WvW like it’s meant to be played. Really disliking GvGers completely now.

I like seeing anet tags in wvw (usually if they’re on an opposing server, just to kill them), but I’m sure this will just make it so none will ever tag up. Also more people will grief GvGs because of how much you freak out.

What’s holding him back from manning his ACs? That’s right, because trolling your customers is much more fun than going around fighting a gate or manning ACs for all his time in WvW.

The SBI gvg group is ticking 500+, the other server has given up. Blame ANET for giving them crap matchups. It happened for SoR too so we had Stonemist Olympics with a treb. Oh wait, needa play for ppt and cant have fun ey?

Please, SBI had a 500+ tick and were leading by 150k+ (I believe the dev was a resident of SBI). If PvD against non existant competition is ‘fun’ then yea his is totally trying to play the game.

You don’t like people saying that your way of enjoying WvW (that is GvG) is not “right” or not “fun”. Don’t do this to others. “Fun” is subjective and there is “subjective fun” to be had even when you are leading in score.

Comes back to the underlying factor. If he wanted to do crap why was he in this secluded area in the first place where GvG normally goes down? You realise there are 3 EXACTLY THE SAME ZONES and he had to go troll the one in use. Or is his fun causing grief cos he is an ANET employee and can do what he wants? Remember that the SBI guild in question is a HC WvW guild that was GvG’ing for FUN after a kitten matchup.

And I dont GvG, you dont know what I find fun, I prefer blobbing (lol) but i think GvG is something that offers diversity to the somewhat stale gameplay. Dont put words in my mouth, you dont know what I like. Its not like everyone that defends GvG actually does GvG.

Look, it’s really simple. There’s no other reason to be there behind the windmill EXCEPT to GvG, watch the GvG, or troll the GvG. He wasn’t there to GvG. He could have been there to watch the GvG. But no, if he came to troll the GvG then he’s going to be treated as a troll. Treating a troll as a troll is not disrespect. The fact that he also popped the Anet tag to represent the company while being a kitten is what takes it to a whole new level.

There is lot’s of reasons to be behind windmill. Farming mats and skill points, sneak patch to enemies supply camp. XD

Yes they are trying to make the BEST of a CRAPPY situation. We already know they are a hardcore wvw guild on SBI that dont always GvG, meaning they are doing this for fun because, SHOCK, its a blowout! They are already ticking 500+ with an unbeatable lead. They finally got some like minded players from another server who also obviously agree the matchup is over and who probebly want to make the BEST of their OWN crappy situation.

I’d just like to make a note of one thing that I think people aren’t considering when they transfer to stacked worlds. You will not, repeat will not, be able to receive the reward based on overall world place in the league, unless you achieve the meta achievement for the season. If you aren’t able to get into WvW much, you won’t get the rewards. So it is absolutely taking a risk to transfer to a world that has a large WvW population.

Bluff charge. We all know the meta achievement will be dead simple to get. You made the game for people’s pets, why would it suddenly be hard now?

Yep common sense pertains to the idea that it it is too hard to get the pve crowd will just not do it. Since they think wvw is for ‘casuals’ it will be built around ‘casual’ gameplay.

The matchups are not determined until the end of the matchup prior to season start. We could give you an estimate, but that might change.

I think even an estimate would be nice, as long as it is clearly stated that it is an estimate. I think what people are most concerned with isn’t if they’ll be rank 10 or 11 by the time seasons start, but how often they’ll be facing servers 5-6 ranks, OR MORE above them. Matches like r1/8/10 will of course be massive blow outs and be no fun for anyone.

The first league is going to be INCREDIBLY rough for any server below probably rank 6 or 7, since, if they face every server at least once, they will have at least several matches against T1 and T2 servers. This is, of course, the BIGGEST flaw of the leagues. Already there are guilds transfering to the T1 servers to stack them up.

My own opinion: I feel like Anet was wanting to make a big splash into WvW and GW2..but they’re doing in by doing a belly flop. I feel bad for T1 players since they very well could have a lot of match ups where they’re just PvD and spawn camping since theres so few players out.

Realistically the winner will be one of tje top 3 and people/guilds are going to quit rather than transfer down.

Other than on reset night, its like a maximum of 1hr on que at anytime on sor. So with onpy one major guild transfer I laugh at this immensely. If its any indication, lower tiers will give up like they did this week or get smashed to a point where they cant ddo the metas.

Stop overblowing population out of proportion, just like in pve I bet the meta will be easy to get.

It should certainly be easy for anet to design a system that takes the average WvW presence for each hour in a 24 hour period for a server and compare that to the servers it’s fighting. That 24 number string would weight the supposed rank of the server. Servers which maintain higher numbers throughout a week get matched to similar servers while servers with lower numbers get similarly matched. This could eventually even out as wvw becomes fun for more players with fewer blowouts.

You know what would be nice? A match up between t1 NA and EU over a period of time.

Once league starts and winning means something we’ll start seeing how strong/weak certain time zones really are. I know there are a few time zones on other servers that have been tanking to look weaker.
I highly doubt when league starts JQ sea against BG will be at 450-500 like it is now

Once league starts, the top 3 won’t be playing each other all that much. I think the top 3 are setting themselves up for some really boring matches.

So what? Guilds should move to TC and make a top 4? Unfortuantely, not all guilds are like MERC wherin players would probebly just quit or do PvE over transferring and spending $20 per person to fix ANETs problem. And dont blame T1 servers for getting transfers, sadly people do want a chance to win and they have a better chance with particular servers.

At the end of the day, not just the big 3 but most servers will have boring matches ruled by who has the most coverage/players.

All I hear is moaning about how your server is not good enough. If it really does make you feel better, continue to believe the dedicated WvW guilds and their members in T1 are ‘cowards’ or ‘baddies’. People like you are the reason why guilds transfer of servers to go to one that has better coverage/better community.

Dont blame people for being people, blame ANET from screwing this up, the recent stacking is mainly because of the leagues. Your ‘solution’ solves nothing, a better solution would be to merge the lower pop servers.

The relationship between BG and JQ is very complicated.

When SoR overstacked a few months ago, BG and JQ buddied up to buckle down SoR.

When BG overstacked and took everyone in , JQ buddied with SoR. The relationship between SoR and JQ was sour during SEA time but good during NA. While during that SEA time, BG was in good terms with JQ.

In the end, JQ chooses who to bed while BG and SoR have old history dating back to the dinosaurs.

But now JQ are overstacked. Kinda like when they closed of free transfers the first time.
