Your ideas seem to idolize the trinity which this game is not about. There is nothing wrong with zerker, its the mechanics of the enemies that need to be worked on.

A legendary is mostly for the skin, and I dare say 80% of that gold and time sink, if not even more, is for the skin. The stats are just a bonus for the majority of the players.

People were still just as crazy about legendary when it didn’t have the stat swap nor much of a stat increase from exotic. Nor did they have the infusions slots. So in the end, the wardrobe is undermining 80% of that effort people put into a duplicate legendary.

Getting no sort of refund is understandable when it comes to gem store purchase and other duplicate skins, but legendary is a huge deal if you got two. In my opinion, the best way to fix this is to just un-soulbind the duplicate legendary for every person so they can choose whether they wanna keep it for the stats or sell it to get atleast something in return and let someone else enjoy it.

Legendaries are, for 95% of their owners, for the skin or effect ie. Juggernaut… end of story. Anyone who thinks otherwise is delusional…

The most insane thing is people thinking legendary weapons are prestigious. THERE IS NOTHING PRESTIGIOUS ABOUT FARMING THE GOLD NEEDED TO MAKE IT. A legendary is essentially a time sink and a gold sink for a skin that ANYONE can get if they put in the time.

As for the dual incinerator moaners? Give up, I have my pair and I dont even care much, the greater idea is that all my alts can now use the skins I wasted a ton of my time on.

People make it seem like Legendary Weapons are a prestige thing. They aren’t, they are just a really expensive skin and/or a huge time sink.

How about make other things more viable without nerfing something and essentially lazy.

Would offering dual-legendary owners the choice of a second legendary SKIN of their choice be acceptable compensation? You would still have two actual legendaries – but now you’d have a second legendary skin that you could apply as you wished. Giving out these skins (they’d be account-bound) would likely hurt the legendary economy far less than unbinding the legendaries and allowing them to be sold – it also reduces the problem of “how do you compensate everyone equally when the cost of legendaries has changed over time?” All footprints, effects, etc would be maintained for legendaries and the copies, and everyone could dual-wield as they pleased.

But this in itself might not be fair at all. Imagine someone with 2 Howlers or 2 Moots or 2 of an underwater legendary suddenly being able to trade for a 2500g+ legendary like the GS or the Hammer. I would rather they do nothing (as I have 2 incinerators myself and can see the GREATER VALUE of the decision to other people out there) or they just unbind the second weapon and allow you to do what you wish with it BUT trade it for another legendary.

Unless of course, we start talking about tiered coupons. Like sort the lengendarys in their respective price ranges and give anyone with dual of one a coupon they can use (for example Rodgort, Minstrel, Moot, Howler, Frenzy, Kraitkin and Quip in one tier).

At the end of the day, I really dont care about having a multiple of one legendary. Its an easy sacrifice to be able to use the skins on my alt.

I have 5 legendaries including 2 Incinerators and I think this is a great feature. I dont even care that I will have a spare Incinerator per se, this feature will be great for my alts.

I am not surprised that most of the people moaning about this are those that have bought 2 of the same legendaries. Live with it and move on.

Anyone else feel Scholar runes will get the nerf hammer meaning, overall for high end damage builds aka the meta, a greater than 10% damage reduction?

An overhyped patch? Color me surprised. It had all the warnings that nothing good was going to come from it.

Big health pools + damage nerf = hard content according to ANET it seems.

They love the idea that high health = hard content.

ANET failed in trying to make support and condi based builds up to par. They thought a straight up nerf would be most effective, but is essentially the easy way out.

Why am I not surprised?

1) New writer to take the story in a better direction.
2) Death of Scarlet
3) An apology for thinking LS would be the future and that they are earnestly working on an expansion to put up a currently non-existant fight against competition next year.

Or they could get a new writer. The plot-lines have been horrid so far compared to say GW1. The personal story sucked and the living story sucks, Scarlet is just being used as a scapegoat.

I am so amused by people saying ‘faith restored’. Its not like it was an accident that a T3 skin was used. It was probably trailed to see community reaction. It shows ANET will do anything for money. Anything that is, except an expansion.

Yea they make it sound like its going to get a revamp, but they will probably just pick some crappy skin and chuck some flame on it like they did with the heavy and medium.

Tier 2 Servers dont have the power to play kingmakers……. except maaaaaaaybe in JQ vs SOR vs X tier 2 matchup, but even then i believe that it will be a race to see who can claim more from the poor third server’s territory.

Oh, but if ranking is a factor in deciding the victor, JQ has EVERYTHING to gain by making sure we take your stuff, while they maintain their lead. I’m sure we can convince every other server in this league of the same.

Every hour that you tick the same, or even lower than us; exponentially lowers your chances of claiming victory.

It’s for laughs, but it will also be a lesson in server diplomacy and that using lower tiered servers for your little games is not a good idea.

This entire week we were ticking a similar ppt to SoR during oceanic time coming off SoR’s complete domination during NA. Meaning we have a similar if not stronger presecne during oceanic time compared to SoR. Now say if we focus SoR instead of JQ because we have say made an alliance with JQ (hypothetically speaking) this would cause SoR’s ppt to drop as we ahve all of our forces on SoR bl while all of JQ’s forces are on SoR bl aswell dropign SoR to sub 200 ppt compared to JQ’s 300+ ppt during oceanic time.

Besides, no real anger. The only way T2 folks are going to have fun is to play kingmaker, we might have been discussing this anyhow. Just it would have been more likely that SoR would have gotten a lot more support in this line of thinking before this.

Firstly, T2 servers need to actually show up and fight for your ‘theory’ to work and secondly, T1 servers are used to the ideas of 2v1, it happens all the time. You can think that a T2 server has the power to be a ‘kingmaker’, but until it actually happens, no one is going to take your threats seriously. (And lets be honest, only TC has the potential to this out of the 3 T2s.)

At the end of the day, its a game, but it seems some people are taking it way to seriously.

Time and again, I cant believe how easily some peoples feelings get hurt.

There should be a name for the syndrome that Arenanet seem to be suffering (like Stockholm Syndrome for example) where a business dealing with the public begins to suffer resentment and anger towards its (paying) customer base. This syndrome is much more common in the gaming industry.

The relationship starts “all smiles” during the development process, begins to deteriorate at beta, further deteriorates at launch (mainly because some paying customers do not appreciate what was delivered, which is probably no-ones fault).

Then you have a major change in a largely settled game, e.g. ascended items, bloodlust buff, leagues or whatever which inflames a large section of the customer base. The customer has invested time and money in to the game (albeit less than the dev team has, but the customers time is their own and their money can be spent on whatever they like). During the initial period the customer develops a great deal of passion for the game and this change, well it feels like a betrayal.

The dev team, like the customers, are not perfect. They make mistakes, they pay too much attention to what the metrics tell them and largely ignore even the constructive posts on the forum. They fall back on the fact that the forum, reddit or whatever else is really just a small part of the community out there and most of that is full of jerks. Entirely missing the point that, by and large, happy gamers spend more time in game and unhappy gamers take to the forums to complain.

So when you see anger and disrespect it should tell you that you inflamed a great passion in these players but you let them down somehow. Those with the greatest investment (time, money, past games with Anet) will shout the loudest.

I’m a good example. I’m SO angry at the continuing WvWvW changes (siegewars, bloodlust, ill thought out leagues, ignoring GvG, giving PvE players everything on a plate, how long till we got ascended and when, if ever, can we get all ascended there etc). This is because I spent 3 – 4 hours playing WvWvW every day, bought three accounts and spent upwards of $1500 in the gem store.

I have no personal animosity to anyone at ArenaNet, even Devon Carver (I’m sure he is a reallly nice guy, I probably have more animosity to whoever decided he should be appointed to that job as it speaks volumes relating to the impotance Anet gives WvWvW in the grand scheme of things). But I reserve the right to speak my mind and get angry when so many of us have been beating our heads bloody against the Anet wall making constructive posts for over a year that are almost always ignored. Often there are good reasons, most of the time it comes across as it doesn’t suit “your vision” of WvWvW or you just don’t care enough.

So to all ArenaNet developers and staff – you really shouldn’t take it personally. Listen MUCH more to your paying customers, take metrics with a pinch of salt (hey check out Warhammer for how metrics went down for them?) and start putting real decision makers in the firing line instead of PR bots.

This community interaction thing is, after all, a two way street.

Also yesterday in TCBL before we had a real force on the map… I think this may have been just a BIT overkill, dont you think SoR? I mean we had all of maybe 10 max in the keep and no siege, we literally had just taken it back.

I just want to point out, you may see this as “overkill” but your not actually out-manned in that screenshot.

Just go right ahead and ignore my other post explaining this, completely missing the point. Dosent change the fact that we still had about 13~ people in the keep, and possibly some roaming groups around the map taking back camps. I know there was a guild group starting to form up at the time.

But still, was the omega for style points?

GvG’er’s just want to play ‘knock out’ on one side of the court, most people wouldn’t mind because they are still using the court for the same purpose; to have fun with a basketball type game.

WvWvW also does not belong to a handful of guilds with overinflated egos. It’s a matter of server pride and if you can’t participate in that then you know what to do.

This isn’t an isolated event. This kind of nonsense happens all the time in WvWvW and it just doesn’t belong. If you’re looking for organized PvP you’re in the wrong place and the ANet staffer was right in pointing that out.

I don’t think you speak for all of SoR, being the large and diverse server it is.

Which then works for every server as there will be people that play for PPT and people that just want the fights. You are collectively grouping the T1 servers and using something (probebly coverage) as a basis for ‘they care about ppt’. Once you stop playing for ppt you have more fun, Im sure many people have concluded that too.

And no I dont speak for SoR, but at least Im on the TS and actively listening to the server leaders speak?
