I am wondering since we are getting a bit of an overhaul to the minis, do they finally get stealth in combat? Any thief/mesmer WvWer knows by now that minis are an inconvenience to them in WvW since a mini does not get stealth and can easily tell your position to your enemy. My question is very simple: Will we finally get an update to that making it possible for WvWers to use their minis and not fear they will be a nuisance to them in battle?
I have played a hybrid power/condi PU mesmer build that utilize scepter/pistol sword/torch and I would use scepter #2’s torment to it’s fullest with a sigil of torment on top of it. I can guarantee from having already experienced how strong torment on a mesmer build is very powerful, this is gonna break the balance FOR SURE.
This is gonna be an overpowered auto-attack (a freaking auto-attack that basically makes your enemy unable to move or waste all condi cleanse because torment’s damage is really high) and will be cancerous to any PvP game mode.
It will be abused by no skilled players and we will be back to square one with the cries to nerf mesmer once again putting back into a really bad spot which I absolutely do not want.
My vote is a clear NO. Please Anet, do not do this to mesmer. I do not want to see my class be overpowered like this.
I have many things to say but I think the only worthy mentionning at this point is: You are completely disconnected from your player base and while you try to maintain this image that you are listening, you clearly are not. This fiasco proves it. As a veteran player, as a PvX player, I feel let down. Getting new players is not gonna fix it, but getting back your players that have quit the game with actual meaningful changes would.
I have had this very particular problem with one asura female hairstyle since months now. The pigtails braids have a shaders issue with them where a part of the hair will glitch and appear weird in game but not in any preview windows (preview window/makeover kits/hero’s tab). It is a kittene to describe so I have taken screenshots demonstrating the issue.
I have tried playing with settings – on multiple computers. It is absolutely not hardware related since all the computers I have tried it on have complete different hardware and I would say tier of performance as well. (low performance/medium performance/high performance/extremely high performance).
We had/have an upleveled Anet ranger running around on CD for a bit, joined a zerg and we had some lulz. Even grouped with me. I was honored.
On IoJ we have been targeting that uplevel ranger each time we see him/her. So I completely understand why they would not want to represent when in WvWvW. Even caught that ranger throwing Treb cows at us :P
Also encountered an uplevel necromancer (lvl 5 haha) in Eotm. We had lost our commander so the zerg decided he would lead the army of Kodan for a short period of time. Was a great time
What will happen of living story skins that had specific armor type limitations, like per example the fused gauntlets skin of which you had to choose between the armor types? Will it become open to all types or remain as the armor type you chose it to be back then?
(Hopefully you take my suggestion: make these skins open to all armor types since I know I am not the only one that regrets the choice I made back then and would really like to use that skin on other types than the one I chose and essentially they are not bound to armor types in the first place)
Please answer I really hope for the case of the fused gauntlets that you will tkae away their assigned armor type and make them simply skins for all types =/
Post April 15th patch: What will happen with living story unique skins that were only unlocked for one armor type? (Like the fused gauntlets per example) Will the skin only be available for that one type or available for any armor type to use in the wardrobe?
(Please make it so it resets. I remember choosing light armor for those gauntlets on mistake an d never being able to change that afterwards ;_;)
1. If I change my sigil in PvP, will it change my sigil in PvE as well? Making it so I lose my PvE sigil and have to buy it again afterwards?
2. Can I still have a different armor set for my PvP or is it always tied to my PvE set? (in terms of look) thus costing transmutation charges every time I want to switch between PvE/PvP looks?
3. What happens of the PvP armor currently equipped on my characters? Will I have to pay transmutation charges to equip it back after the patch?
4. What actions help progress through the tiered tracks? Simple number of matches or specific actions?
5. How can I access my account vault in the mists? Do I have to go in PvE since you took away the PvP lockers?
I think the feature patch is an overrall good change for the game and I think people are being too cynical about it and trying to find any detail to nitpick about (not that there isn’t valuable concern, just that complaints about how much legendaries are gonna lose their value are just so entitled brats, per example)
It was announced in the March 18th patch notes that there would be a trader NPC for blade shards that would appear… We haven’t had any word on where or when it will appear. Can we please have an update on this? I’m keeping my blade shards for this trader but the lack of information about it is getting a wee bit frustrating.

That said, the whole 15/mo as an excuse NOT to play that game seems ridiculous. Every single hardcore fan of GW2 I know, have spent well in excess of that amount for gems (extra bags, collection expanders, etc.). I certainly have spent well, well over the 15/mo in gems. Well over that…
In fact, if anything, the gem shop opened my mind to the incredible savings that 15/mo will bring to my wallet.
You do have a point by saying that a lot have spent way over the 15$/month of a subscription in GW2 but you are not seeing how different that model is as it does not force you to pay more to actually play.
You could argue about P2W and what you deem is a necessity to play that is in the gems store but in the end since you bought the game you can always log in and play. No gems store item will take this away from you. A subscription simply forces you to pay and that concept is the one that many (myself included) do not accept. I am never gonna accept to be OBLIGED to pay for a product I have already paid for, but buying micro-transactions? I am already hundreds of dollars past that point.
Okay so they are seriously selling them at 400 gems each? So 800 for both.. for 2 pieces of armor… when other full set are 800?
The gemstore gets worse every single time. I’m really fed up. (I have spent lots of money in it too)
Also have you seen the kitten conversion rate? It costs a ton of gold to buy it and these are probably only on for a limited time. I don’t have time to gather enough gold to purchase them. Being able to buy stuff with gold is no longer an excuse, they keep pushing the limits with what they add. I and others are really fed up with these practices.
Here is a simple notion: Anet needs to plan ahead whether we will be flooded with a certain item and either tell us outright that it is only used for this very specific recipe (I mean outside of the description because obviously they are not even following their own words proven by this situation) or that there will be another use in the future instead of telling us to not delete them (after your whole inventory gets flooded) on a forum thread started by an user days if not weeks down the line. That’s very poor planning and it’s definitely not solely on the players fault but…
Don’t be angry if you deleted yours, it may suck or you may not even care whenever they give you something to use them for. Take it as a lesson not to delete them next time, and if you already knew… then the fault is on you. (I have been deleting 2 stacks a day after getting at least 12 stacks that I kept) Instead, focus your energy on telling them this stuff should never happen in the first place and to stop doing it every 2 weeks/month.
Yep, just had a run on overflow where blue knight healed instantly. It doesn’t seem to be menders causing it.
They keep patching the full heal issue, obviously it is not meant to be part of the fight.. yet it still happens. Last patch had a hotfix for it but it’s not working.
I would have liked to see more male homosexual relationships but my gut feeling is gw2 player are just not going to take a male relationship as well as they will take a female one. It’s horrible but true I wish it was different.
There is a male Sylvari couple early in one of that race’s personal stories. I’ve never seen any objection about it.
Also, Rytlock and Logan are clearly the #1 couple in the game.
This is an old reply but I saw nobody reply to you. Actually there was a loooooot of qq threads (that literally was it, people complaining for no actual reason) about it while in beta and launch. People just got over it with time because they are further in the game’s story. The people that cared back then have either left or passed the phase in the story so are not “being shoved down their throats” the relationship between these two characters.
I am honestly afraid Anet could not have a canon male gay couple in the main cast without horrible homophobic backlash as we have already seen it happen. And the amount of complaints about Kasjory is even more telling that a loud minority of players can’t accept homosexual relationships as normal and demand “equality” (seriously? are you kidding me????). You [general you] are simply ignoring all of the heterosexual relationships because it is default in our society. Of course a queer relationship will stick out like a sore thumb to you because of the status of our media – you’re not used to it.
Empty complaints. What if the sole cast of characters were aaaaaaaaalllll gay and women???? Who cares. It’s not like the opposite (all male and hetero) is not something that happens in other games. The “acceptable” ratio you are wanting is actually already equitable and you are making a big deal out of n-o-t-h-i-n-g.

The clipping through the hair (thoughtless potion – horns) making it close to invisible (if not completely) with asura is absolutely shocking and shameful.

This thread has shown me one thing though: there are some people who are seriously uptight about nudity. I think maybe it’s a cultural thing? In ancient times, there were many peoples of the world who wore little to no clothing. It wasn’t until we all became “enlightened” and “educated” did we learn that your body was something to be embarrassed about. The body is a beautiful machine, people.
Are you telling me that you, and the others with your mindset (that we are all prudes for not liking how this was done) would accept to have equal amount of skin showed for males just like this image shows?
‘cause I’m sure there would be the biggest uproar if it was to happen. The problem is not nudity, it’s the objectification of the woman body. A male bared naked chest does not have the same connotations… a woman can be arrested for being topless at the beach, per example.

It’s not even painted skin. It’s a sculpted material that covers the vast majority of the character’s actual flesh, just like that Batman and Robin armor I posted.
Also, why is it, that in every picture you’ve posted claiming that this armor shows nipples, the character only has ONE?
You are literally making things up and completely ignoring evidence to the contrary. It’s not sculpted anything. The armor turns your character’s skin blue. I posted the proof in image form, you can see where I overlapped two screenshots of the same character with and without it. There is no change in physical proportions to prove your claim that it’s something added over top of the character’s body. At all.
As far as the multiplication of nipples is concerned, I see two. Have you even looked at it in game? It’s pretty obvious there too.
Manipulated screenshots =/= proof. I’ve been toying with my camera on my Mesmer, trying to figure out what you’re allegedly seeing and still can’t make them show up. I managed to get ONE of those white swirls in the armor to line up “correctly” and look like your screenshot, but that’s not a nipple.

As a woman and with lots of medical knowledge, I can say : Nipples are not that high, even on surgically doctored chests (Unless there is some serious misplacement or serious issue as to why they can not be placed back into their normal location.)

As a woman with 36 UK H sized breasts on a petite body, I can tell you that boobs don’t have that shape in the first place. Breasts do not have a symmetrical circular shape and are not that high on the chest. Boobs cannot be supported by the small amount of cloth/metal/etc that is used and it’s placement.
You know what? It doesn’t change that they still have done it this way and people are putting down the ones who are critical about it as “prudes” when it is simply about human anatomy.

An item that can make any item of your choice un-soulbinded. Like jewelry per example. Not breaking it down, not splitting.. simply making it “new” again so you can give it to another character. Make it account bound until re-equipped could avoid people abusing this.

Is there any incentive to stay on low tier servers? This is what they should have done, give actual reasons to stay/move there for a healthier competition. Or just plain server merging but they’ve been so blind to the server population issue, it’s mind-boggling!

interestingly enough, during the first WvW CDI, population imbalance was the most listed problem with WvW. which they actually pointed out and acknowledged themselves afterwards. and it appears their solution to the population imbalance was to remove the punishments for server stacking (queues), and to add incentive for server stacking (the rewards from this tournament).
i’m guessing that there’s a proper amount of crack one can smoke to where that solution actually makes sense, because anyone with a functional brain can see how stupid of a plan it was. unless, of course, they were actively trying to kill WvW for some reason…. then that plan is the best way to go.
Everywhere else they say there are absolutely no problem with the population and everything is going according to plan =/ But lemme tell ya, for someone that has been on the same server since before server transfers became not free anymore… This is #1 issue in WvWvW for almost all servers except tier 1. And even there I’m sure being matched against BG/JQ must be very dreadful for the third wheel. Maybe they did acknowledge it (I’d like a link) but I’ve never saw it and they need to make it known widely that they understand this is very frustrating instead of catering only to the real “high” pop servers, aka 3-4 max. (I’m sorry for EU, I only know about NA)
I agree with you that Eotm as a solution is moot when it concerns actual competition. But it was a good effort. If only they could think more about people that are obliged to fork over money/gold to have a chance at competition. It’s easy to say perseverance and persistence is what we need in lower population servers but at some point… you just can’t give it anymore. I’m not a commander, I’m not in a big wvw guild.. I play wvw because I like it, I like the challenge and I want competition. I try to get better at it, I play everyday (when I am not on break from gw2) but you can’t expect individuals to pull a whole server and blame/punish them when the others don’t stick around.
I’m really just fed up and this news left me a sour taste… time to give in and move to somewhere I’ll feel my efforts matter I guess.

Are we gonna explore more of the firstborn characters other than Caithe, Trahearne and Faolain?
In the sylvari personal story, you do get to learn more about the other firstborn but it’s very limited and too much emphasis is put upon the 3 same firstborn in my opinion.
This isn’t a complaint, just an observation. As someone whose first language is french, this is a bit confusing. Putting an -e- or -i- in front of an -a- would make a soft -c-/-s- so this as an explanation doesn’t really make sense for other languages (or well at least in french)
Ceara and Ciara are Irish in origin a hard K sound here makes perfect sense in Irish (there isn’t a letter K in the Irish alphabet so we have to make do ;-) )
