We’re actually working on adjusting how the /stuck command works in PvP maps now. It won’t be an instant death, but it will work much more reliably. Also, should provide some better feedback when used.

Additionally, we have a change we’re putting in for player used knockbacks & pulls that should greatly reduce the frequency this happens. It’s been going through testing now and if all goes well, will go out in the next few weeks.

Just for clarification; Is this change gonna affect outside of sPvP, like in WvW where the pulls/knocks from players into structure have been just as detrimental?

Since you can’t glide unless you’re defending, go ahead and leave. I’ll be the guy in the cap circle spamming /laugh /wave.

WvW isn’t ONLY about owning and taking objectives. Being able to just glide away from a fight kills the fights and punishes the attackers.

This is such a silly statement. If your enemies decide to run away by gliding, YOU JUST GLIDE AFTER THEM !

At some point they have to land since it’s not true flight.

I don’t think you have the strongest grasp of how gliding works. If they try and run away by gliding off a cliff, just toss out a little cc and watch them fall to death, lmfao.

For that you require to have ranged CC. So now you have to make sure you have ranged CC on you at all times which means you have to change your build AROUND gliding? That’s kitten.

Im showing this because its honestly useless, its never good for anyone let alone the whole team to be in the enemy base. Its just a silly bug that came with the amazing new version of kyhlo.

Maybe ill get Anet to also fix this by posting it on forums and getting infracted, seems to be the only way to get a hold of them within a reasonable amount of time.

You guys don’t even realize that it will take you MONTHS and MONTHS to get these rewards because you’re limited on how many skirmishes tickets you can get per week and almost every reward is more expensive than you can earn in a week. Now that’s what you guys should be focusing on; THAT’S grind.

Locking gear and money behind PvE, rewards behind pips which could just be farmed by playing PvP non-stop in the earlier seasons, etc. Gating masteries and conent used in current LS behind other masteries.

ANet has been making their game slowly more and more grindy for a long time. If it’s taken you this long to realize it, I’m sorry to say that the train has since departed…

No it’s not. You don’t know how Sylvyn plays the game. Maybe he/she plays only an hour or so a night, does some slow paced roaming or whatever, doesn’t remember to run any wvw bonuses, takes frequent breaks, etc….

There have been many nights when I just got 1 level out there….because of the way I was playing (breaks, talking to wife, reorganizing drops, etc). Sure, most of the times I am out there, I will get more than 2-4 levels…..but some nights I just play relaxed and laid back and don’t care about levels at all. (Most of the time I don’t even pay attention to levels until I quit for the night).

I’m a roamer and I get more than 1 rank every single time I play (without any boosters). I’m sorry but if you can’t play more than 1hr per night and can’t get more than 1 rank per night… You’re just being entitled. These rewards require time investment and expecting kitten to be giving out to you because you haven’t been able to get the rank required in almost 5yrs of this gamemode is not a valuable input.

I was responding to your statement about it being next to impossible to only get 1 level during playtime. You don’t know how Sylvyn plays the game, and neither do I. I was just presenting how one could play wvw for that period of time and not rack up multiple levels.

Not sure how you went from that to some sort of sense of entitlement. I am perfectly fine with the 2k line on the T3 stuff. And I am perfectly fine with whatever levels I may or may not get while playing wvw.

At my age, the game is a pleasant diversion for me, and that’s it. I rarely get serious, in any way, shape, or form, about a video game anymore. It is just a way of having some mindless fun with friends after the work day for me.

I meant for anyone behind the idea (not at you directly but you defended that mentality which is completely absurd to me) that this rank is too high of a requirement when they can’t even get more than 1 rank per day of play; it’s a you (general you) problem, not the game or the developers. Idk how they play but to not get more than 1 rank you have to be doing NOTHING and most likely dying more than you cap or kill so why should that be rewarded? And if it’s because they’re on a time constraint, it’s no one else’s problem.

Please do not change Quip’s sound. I absolutely love it the way it is. I understand how it can be annoying for others, especially I dislike The Dreamer’s sound myself but this would really be something unpleasant for the many who have had those legendaries for years. I see there is a proposal of a compromise but it doesn’t satisfy me, at least.

As others have mentioned, I think it would be a better route to rework some sound sliders to be able to cut out certain things, like people’s character effects sounds (think of backpacks, legendary weapons, and other weapons) and cherry on top would be to be able to separate that from the player’s own sounds so if I want to hear my Quip but I don’t want to hear someone else’s Dreamer, then it’s not an all-in option. Also pushing that idea further, I think it is time there is a revision on certian sliders, particularly the effects slider as it’s one that overshadows everything else and has so much different type of effects included in one. It might not be something easy, but if you truly want to dedicate time into fixing sound related QoL issues then I believe it is worth considering. Separate combat sound effects from other smaller effects? Separate personal and other players character voices? These are just the ideas at the top of my head but there is potential for more that could benefit everyone.

I really do appreciate Anet/Keenan’s initiative in taking the time to ask the community’s feedback on this before going ahead and making a change. I hope this is something that we could see happen more often and in other areas, to improve the communication between the playerbase and the company.

The decision is absolutely ridiculous and shameful. You caved in to the most entitled demand I’ve seen in a while. Thanks for validating why achievements are irrelevant and just some participation trophies now. How warped is the logic of it being a good idea? It completely devalues what these top AP hunters are even in for with their “leaderboard race” by removing actual competition! I just can’t understand for a second this downright stupid and weak display from Anet.

If a pvper achieves #1 rank, they kitten deserve those measly 6points over whoever else in the AP hunting “competition” (what a joke, truly). It’s that simple.

Inactive players will experience skill-rating decay, impacting the division they’re placed in. Decay can be worked off by playing ranked games.
Period of inactivity allowed before decay begins: 3 days.
Skill rating reduction per day: 100.

I can’t find an explanation to how the system actually calculates the decay. Is it on the hour? How many points per hour? Why can I gain points for a loss while on decay?

So I haven’t played my matches in 3 days which is the limit to when decay is supposed to start as I was told.
Logged on tonight to -12, I thought it was fine and I could play tomorrow before reset when I’m more in the zone for it but then later I looked back on it and saw I was sitting at -26. I then thought maybe this was caused by a reset on midnight instead of the usual 7pm EST but soon later I was sitting at -38. Meanwhile I was messaging a friend I went to -39 and that’s when I had enough and went to queue. Lost the game but I won +4 rating???

I don’t understand exactly how this is possible and what the calculations for the decay are and why I won rating from a lost (which I believe is because of the decay but still).

Is it me that just haven’t seen the information about this or you totally did not explain it anywhere? If it’s the latter, could we please get a breakdown of it?

Why is this even a thing….? Please just don’t, that’s pointless and more visual noise we don’t need in WvW. No one that actually plays WvW cares about ranks/WXP.

Scoring is the most important part to change right now to keep WvW going in a better state in the hopes of it becoming a really good game mode again . What’s the point of winning if the way you win is out of your control or simply just a mess like it is right now? There is no meaning to winning right now, fix the scoring and then we can look back into this.

I honestly believe that some of the QoL changes proposed in the polls could make it in a scoring update. If not, make them the next thing to focus on.

The majority of the HoT guild upgrades for WvW were plainly not done with a healthy WvW mind.

These “mechanics” (gimmicks) need to go. I appreciate that you are looking into it but we’d all be better off if you just worked on deleting them. The passives can stay. I like Endelon’s idea.

Cloaking Waters is completely broken and I could see this since pre-HoT release, it baffles me that it was even considered to go in the game in this state :/

But of all, Chilling Fog is the most annoying thing to me. As someone who enjoys small man fights more than big zerg fights, just trying to move around SMC (where most of my roaming fights will be) is the biggest pain in the world and instantly gives an incredible advantage to the players who already have the advantage of the portal to outter SMC -_-"

SMC doesn’t need buffs to it’s defense, it never did. It was the best place to have big fights and swing the map control for a server. These guild upgrades have ruined it.

Raising the cap not only would ruin the servers (you haven’t been in a tier 1 3 way fight, have you?) but make the blobs issue an even bigger one… It’s not logical.

If you want to play a reset night, this is how you do it (and the majority of veterans of WvW know this):

- Plan which BL you want to be on with your group. (Blue? Red? Green? EBG?)
- Mind that EBG is pug centric and will be the most queued (literally has been this way since the start of the game)
- Stand by the portal of your chosen BL.
- When it resets: spam that portal baby!
- Result: You’re in or you’re in the top of the queue.

If you’re late to the queueing, that’s your problem. Go play EotM and make it a real pvp game mode.

Plus this is literally day 1 of the most major core WvW change Anet has ever done. Deal with it :/

This isn’t a simple case of “hard decision”/“controversial decision”… It’s a POOR decision to make and you are being criticized for that. You made the worse out of your situation where you actually had a beacon to turn it around. I am 100% sure the community would not be in this situation if you had come out and said you would be pulling resources from the future expansion team instead. It is mind blowing to me that you could make such a bad management move like this one you’ve done.

Add this onto the list of incomplete content you said you’d be working on. I find it incredibly insulting to be told that work on a future expansion is more important than completion of a product people paid for. You keep on losing your customers with the stupidest decisions. It’s absolutely not solely on the lack of content but your kittenty management. Instead you should be pulling developpers from the 70 working on a future project and COMPLETE THE kitten CURRENT PROJECT! How hard is it to see that this is not a simple controversial decision but a plain bad one…

This is not in any way worthy of praise for being “open” communication or whatever else you’d want to qualify it. This is NECESSARY communication, they do not deserve praise for giving us what we deserve in terms of communication. Do not be blindsided. We deserve far more than even this. Tell us why. Tell us what this team will be working on instead ( “LW” is too vague, don’t take us for idiots any longer).

And more importantly: Tell us why we should trust you after how you are treating your paying customers in regards to Heart of Torns.

Even if some of you do not care about the content that is being hacked at here (the legendary weapons) you should open your eyes to what this means.

Old stability used to be susceptible to immobilise, thus hammer trains, however this was also before the introduction of resistance. Resistance/boon/damage reduction stacking still exists in WvW, even after nerfs to bunker Mesmer and Rev in Pvp. On a large scale these comps are.. aids, but are weakened by the current implementation of stab; prone to lots of hard CC. Stab would need to go up in corruption priority)
    Needs to be assessed: Signet of Inspiration/Dwarf Stance/Frost Aura/Superior Sigil of Concentration/Plate of Mussels Gnashblade, this list goes on…
    Needs to be changed: A visible aoe circle for Hunter’s Ward.

  4. (Defensive) Siege Reworks – (Reduce Arrow Cart damage by ~15%. Revert the arc of Omega projectiles back to being able to hit siege placed on the inner edges of walls. Increase Shield Gen cooldowns, Force Dome needs to be 10-15 seconds longer. Can take up to 5 minutes to kill an SMC lord with Iron Guard active, but less than 10 seconds to revive it)
  5. Rewards – (Something akin to the PvP rewards tracks would be nice. Also that WvW Legendary Backpiece.)

Thank you for your post, I agree with everything you’ve said; here are my suggestions I wanted to add.

1. a. Hunter’s Ward. I can’t see it, strips too much stab: FIX IT.

And bout the DBL improvements:

  • Rework the shrines gimmick flavors. Buffs to dmg through incoming/outgoing and critical chance feel cheap. You took out guard stacks because it was an unfair advantage (more specifically to newer players but my point still stands) and this feels like it simply goes against that philosophy. I understand wanting to make the Shrines worth fighting for but I think they should complement the keep in a defense/offense scenario instead by focusing on thematic improvement to movement/navigation and some offensive/defensive bonuses for each.

a) Shrine of Air 1 = Blessing of Air: Movement speed increase % inside Air Keep only.
Shrine of Air 2 = Jump pads regardless of who owns the keep.
Shrine of Air 3 = Knockback Turrets.

b) Shrine of Earth 1 = – Chill/Cripple % effectiveness inside Earth Keep only.
Shrine of Earth 2 = Floating platforms become available around the Earth keep for defense. Siege cannot be placed on those platforms. (this idea I think is the one I’m the least confident about but I couldn’t find a way to recycle the rock walls, they’re a complete annoyance so could easily be replaced by a better idea )
Shrine of Earth 3 = temporary stealth in area that pulses. for the sake of example something like: every 15 seconds pulse 7 seconds of stealth. Numbers are just for the sake of example. Keep them BALANCED though.

c) Shrine of Fire 1 = – Burn % effectiveness inside Fire Keep only.
Shrine of Fire 2 = Access to Lava Portal and walking on lava.
Shrine of Fire 3 = Inferno Hound transformation at Shrine (think of eotm scorpions). If needed, rebalancing of the skills.

I feel those would be still giving an advantage to owning the shrines thus a meaning to them and fighting for them while reducing the amount of imbalances it creates for combat with other players.

  • Reduce amount of wild life (PvE) involved. There is just too much of it.
  • LAYOUT:

a) Squish the map vertically OR eliminate at least one vertical level but do something to lesser the thin spreading of population. Eliminating map space when it comes to the height ratio (not map levels) can help with navigation like going back to the fights but it can also make the map feel more cramped and less open field so this one needs very careful adjusting but something needs to be done about this overall.

b) Destroy some pointless corners (the wyvern area per example) and demolish some walls to open up the place.

c) Break up some structuring in the middle of the map to make it THE OPEN FIELD FIGHTS PLACE.

d) Make the keeps entrances easier to access.

e) Widen some choke points but not ALL.

f) look into siege placements. I firmly believe that counter-siege is crucial to both defense and offense and by having areas of siege unattainable for the offense creates an uneven scenario. This one I think would benefit from real interaction with the community, especially with the siege nuts who know all about this stuff

That’s all I can think of at the moment.

  • Look into the Guild Upgrades, rebalance them. Banners should just go. Airstrike nerfed. Prices reduced. Many things to look back at for the WvW side of Guild Upgrades.

That reminds me, and I am sorry for deviating the subject a bit but it’s been answered, why is it when I choose Canada as my country, the prices do not adjust to CAD? I always end up paying around 5$ more when it bills and I just don’t understand why the system is not showing me the CAD prices.

Presumably because it only has two pricings that it displays, American dollars and the Euro.

That’s disappointing. I used to buy prepaid credit cards because I don’t own a credit card (I’m a student) so it was a real pain in the kitten to deal with the extra I had to pay because of currency exchange. I always ended up with approximately 7$ left on those cards that I couldn’t use because of the increments of gems.

I have never seen GW2 gemcards in my area.

You can’t add more money to those cards? The ones in my area have a Visa or MasterCard logo and you can add money to them as you want at the grocery store that sells them.

Nah they’re preset amount (25/50/75/100/etc)
