What a bunch of haters “ewww too girly” facepalm It doesn’t have to always be manly-man stuff to be good stuff. Also I think the grey color is perfect for it (although sure white/gold would have been beautiful as well) it makes it more neutral and able to fit many more color scheme than gold could have.
I love this and I am very happy of my new shield on my asura engineer
Very disappointed in the lack of leafy pieces as well. I hope one day they listen.
3 choices per armor type and billions of human-oriented armor in the rest of the game… shake my headCan you really call them “Human oriented”? More like “General cloth, leather, and chainmail/plate armors.”
Also, you are forgetting that the TA dungeon armor (twilight arbor) are plant based as well.
Yes, it’d be nice to see more styles, especially given how some Sylvari mention “growing” their own armor. But calling every other set “human oriented!” is just… misguided IMO.
Well in general the armors aren’t norn or charr or asura themed, are they? =/ Only a handful.
You are right that in my post I did forget the TA armors but it doesn’t really change my point. My point is that any armor that drops is human themed. There are clear aesthetic differences between what human vs. norn/charr/asura/sylvari clothing/armor styles. This seems to be all about semantics.
(inb4 anything I am a PvX player.)
I think there is a very big difference with this situation than the one we were in with the zephyr kite.
Obsidian Sanctum is made to playfully grief other players and it is a very easy place to (spawn)camp thus making it totally inaccessible for PvE players unless they magically get a group of skilled PvP players to help them (haha, try to ask for help for obsidian sanctum in EB [back when this was the only access point], have fun.) or they are lucky enough for it to be empty. Hell, even someone that can/enjoy PvP can easily be spawn camped there.
In the end it was a very poor choice for a PvE achievement and I think they learned from it.
This time though it seems to be simply encouraging players to join without an easy spawn camp or purposely griefing manner. At least I feel PvErs have a way better chance at having access to the content.
The problem isn’t mixing PvE players with WvW/PVP players, it’s the preconceived assumptions that each has for the other, which end up in nasty attitudes all around.
My female Sylvari with one of the original faces has had this same eye bug for the last several months. This seems to be a widespread Sylvari bug. It looks really bad, so hopefully they fix it soon! Also, send a bug report if you haven’t already.
Thank you, I never had this happen to me until this face change (I’ve changed my sylvari countless of times, I’m a bit addicted to the makeover kits :X)
I will follow your suggestion and send a bug report. It’s very annoying that this old issue is still happening – shows you how much they care about sylvari. Only Kristen seems to care.
Very disappointed in the lack of leafy pieces as well. I hope one day they listen.
3 choices per armor type and billions of human-oriented armor in the rest of the game… shake my head
I just recently changed my female sylvari’s face with one of the 3 new faces but it seems we got an issue on our hands…
Can you tell what it is?
(tip: unaligned eyes)
Please fix this, thank you.
I know this is probably an unpopular opinion but I wished SAB remained an April’s fool recurrence and not elsewhere. I’d rather explore new themes than SAB although I did like it.
Oh wow this is funny. I played APB: Reloaded. The character customization is actually way more limited than it seems and dated if you ask me. It is superficial. Also it is blocked by a paywall: no thank you I do not want this in Guild Wars 2. Not to say that it is a bad one, far from that. But it is not the best and I think it’s unfair to compare it to Guild Wars 2, the two are way too different. One thing that should be noted is that the symbol creator of APB:R is amazing and absolutely unique but hard to master, props.
A better example (only in terms of complexity which is what you are bringing up in the first place) would have been EVE online’s character creator, now that is some beast but it has it’s weakness too: you cannot see your character ingame (I think there is the exception of on a certain ship station, I do not know exactly) and you cannot see other’s characters either because EVE online is about other things yes but also because of performance limitations.
I do think that we should have had a bit more sliders to tweak more precisely some aspects of the faces and more option choices in hair/faces/tattoos/hears/etc. But also it is not problematic. Let’s talk about it in 3+ years.
As much as I understand the reasoning behind it, I think it does bring up a new problem. If a suggestion does not fit into a sub-forum’s subject, then there is only one place to put it into and that is the general guild wars 2 discussions. That sub-forum seems to be one of the top viewed sub-forums which means most likely that your suggestion will rapidly be ignored because of the sheer amount of newly created or bumped threads in that section thus more threads on the same subject are created and you don’t get a good discussion going. How many threads are created where they end up with 2 to 8 responses while if it had more time on the front page, the majority would actually agree/disagree with it but just haven’t seen it and so improve feedback?
There are so many subjects that end up with no attention from devs/artists/etc simply because they are bare-bones of player feedback?
I bring this up but I do not have any solution to it so I am not saying this is not a good action.
tl;dr: having to bump threads suck.

I think those are very legitimate concerns and questions, I hope you get an answer.
I’ve read and heard that it was confirmed there would be no new destiny’s edge formed of Rox, Braham, Marjory, Kasmeer (potentially taimi and mysterious sylvari character) from arenanet itself. Is this true?
Yesterday I was leveling an alt to get story achievements and I was reminded that I get a free key as lvl 10 personal story reward, what did I get from that BLC? I received:
- 1 WXP
- 2 mystery tonics
- 2 mystery tonics
The mystery tonics stacked in my inventory. How is this even possible?
Did this ever happen to someone else? This seems to not be acting as intended or I hope so because that is really not worth gems to gain a chance to get twice the low-tier rewards.

I’ve been posting about this very thing since day 1. Unfortunately it has fallen upon deaf ears.
I know how you feel, this is becoming very frustrating. It’s why I decided to boot back this discussion in the hope that this time around, with their new approach to player feedback, they will at least give us an answer. I mean this isn’t some crazy entitled demand like you easily see on forums.. isn’t it?? It uses the same dyeing system as armor so why make it separate. I think dye-able backpieces are less reasonable (but of course I’d like it), to be honest.
Even “no can do” is better than no response at all…
Anyone wanna pitch in?
It’s funny though that you can read in the same thread “it’s a game, it’s fantasy” as a reason for not having realistic representation of bodies but then you can also read “it’s not realistic to have fat people in a FANTASY world full of danger”.
(edited by Moderator)
I already buy plenty of makeover kits, that isn’t really a reason for no dye-able hair accessories nor is it a solution since it’s still the basic starter dyes. There isn’t even real neutral colors, your only choice are a yellow hued light gray and a green hued dark gray!!
I would even accept it in the gem store. Hair colors/style/faces/etc are to be expected as part of the gemstore but something that seems to be working on the same system as armor dyes.. not so much tho!
What’s Kralkatorrik’s favorite cereal mascot?
Snaff, crackled and popped
(not my joke)
I feel that somewhere OP has somehow a point. Their criticism might be flawed but it is true that it is impossible to make a f-a-t female human per example. There are varying body shapes – sure – but there’s none that are actually fat. It’s all very mainstream society view of what is attractive and close to none options to derive from that stereotype (it does apply to male characters in different ways as well). You could say that they don’t want people running around with blue pigged-nose monstrosities with xX Da GanGstaa Xx for a name but this isn’t really comparable to a normal body shape. You can’t say “just play a norn if you want thick human-like character”, this does not ever fix the relative issue. Even the norn aren’t actually fat, they are thick and their thick options are limited as well.
(I wish I could have posted this in the suggestions forum but it seems to have been locked as of very recently)
This is an old topic. But one which has never been answered:
Why can’t we get dye-able hair accessories?
They use the exact same pool of dyes from the armor start dyes set, so why is it impossible to dye these accessories? Often these basic colors clashes with color schemes. Per example a white and baby pink color scheme – my only pink option for hair accessories is really dark and would not fit in my color scheme. I buy dyes, expensive or not, to be able to make my character’s color scheme as complex as I want it to be but I am extremely limited as soon as I want to use hair accessories. Female asura are hit very hard by this particularly.
So please listen to us and give us the option to dye our hair accessories with our well earned dyes. Or if it isn’t “codding-ly” possible – give us a clue! Sylvari cultural armor glow has been updated with even less request than this option, I hope to hear at least a reason why this idea is not something you consider.
What if they made a special achievement only obtainable if you made it further lvl 50? I think that makes it fair.
I don’t see much fairness in putting a retroactive achievement or title when the content it is referring for has being removed, thus making it unavailable. Such a thing should have been implemented long before, for it to be fair.
And adding a reward retroactively on something that wasn’t supposed to give rewards to begin with would screw up with the people who avoided said content for that exact reason.
Especially since we don’t even have a single fractal achievement regarding personal fractal levels.Living story gives rewards all the time and they are removed all the time, doesnt sop anything and anet seems to like it like that.
Exactly. It has been done before with no fuss.
A simple title to please people that feel wronged by this change seems a good choice to me. They can show their prestige hardly obtained. I’ve never played guild wars 1 but from what I know that is how it worked. Titles were HUGE signs of prestige. One title to say “Hey, I was there and I worked hard to get there” could potentially appease these players who have put time and effort. That would not enrage people that haven’t done the content like some specific item reward would do. People asking to be put at lvl 50 again though… that is unfair, 30 to 50 is gonna be different so no you have not earned that until you do it.
And I simply disagree with you Manuhell.
What if they made a special title achievement only obtainable if you made it further lvl 50? I think that makes it fair.

I’m hoping that when it goes live there’s gonna be one added =/
I made another thread talking about this UI glitch some days ago that went totally unnoticed =/ More people are experiencing this. I don’t think it’s on user’s end. Just like Veron described. I think it’s worth looking into it more seriously.
This isn’t about ingame items haha. This is about real world clothing like you see on arenanet employees and people that can attend the evenements. (hello I’m Canadian, when do you plan on visiting us?)
So yes, get in teh fleece market, pls k bye thank you.
I support the need for gw2 hoodies.
Omg that ebay thief that just had us running like crazy in hills ioj bl… screw you and props. You were a real pain to find haha.
I adored every little bit of that final instance. Scarlet was pinpoint. (Come on, her commentary while you were going through the fights was so creepy and amazing voice acting. Really enjoyable). And I loved the cutscene as well
seems like it’s becoming a huge bandwagon to just hate on Scarlet whenever even when anet does good with her. They haven’t done everything well with her AT ALL, that’s not what I am saying. But this time around it was good. I personally like that we have a reoccurring villain instead of just having her show up, kill her, and be done with her like they have done in the past.
bump, please let them know this is not a rare occurence!
Recently you have not been specifying whether the new gem store items such as the toxic skins, kasmeer/marjory’s weapon skins, or even the toxic dye kit are to be on a limited time release like your previous living story gem store items or if they are there to stay after the next story chapter comes in. Maybe it means that it is permanent but it’s completely confusing from your previous approach and needs clarification.
Can you please tell us if these are only available for a limited time or not?
It’s really bothering me to know whether I have the time to get these items or not =/
I have this issue as well on my asura with the same hairstyle as Hamfast and I completely support their idea: Let us dye our hair accessories in game like normal armor. The limitations on color choices for hair accessories is awful and more often than not we cannot find a good choice to fit our color schemes. It would even be a potential fix for this bug.
For the past week and a little bit more, I have had a lot of user interface lag – the UI taking a long time to load. At first I thought it was just my computer since I have plenty of other issues but it seems that I am not the only one with this problem. On tumblr, more people are sharing that they have been experiencing this, and exactly how I experience it too. ex: load in new map; skill icons not loading, inventory/guild tab/bank/etc appearing only partially, map appearing partially as well, etc. Sometimes for myself it can take up to 2 minutes to fully load my UI. I did not use to have this problem before recently.
These are not my screenshots but they show exactly what I am talking about:

Humor, heard of it?
overreactionboat has sailed apparently.
what about SAB, was that too goofy for you? Not? Why?
I don’t understand why this is bothering you that much. Remember the release trailer? Now THAT was bad, not funny – meant to be serious.

I would like to see a solution for a passive 25% speed buff or another way to use swiftness for Mesmers. Currently we have to use either a passive signet that has a random chance to boon swiftness or we have to carry a focus. I find myself a lot of times missing out on sentry/tower caps in WvW or killing enemies when champ farming because the zerg breaks away from me with speed boosts that I don’t have. Even worst is underwater where we don’t get our focus. We have blink but a bunch of other classes have some kind of move that moves them forward faster in addition to swiftness.
Or why is the focus swiftness not “stackable” (ex: cannot put down next curtain until swiftness buff’s over otherwise I’ll we wasting time/the skill. Can’t stack it with other classes swiftness either =/) Boggles the mind.
Please please please revert this change or at the VERY LEAST hold on before implementing any changes to the other armors (that would completely ruin my T2 rainbow look).
The loss of textures, details, specular map effects and multi-tones is REALLY not worth the glow. Absolutely not. What I love the most about sylvari armor is the multi-toning that happens on certain pieces and I find it outrageous that you took this unique feature out for the benefit (not really) of something really trivial.
I don’t have anything constructive to say because it has already been said but please hear our cry. I never come on the forums to complain but this feels really important to voice my opinion in the hopes that you listen!
Before > After
Also can we please have a response??!!
Guesting inst the issue, its the overflows.
What we need (really as a community) is for guests to take a back seat to the home server players when overflows start to spawn. If there is an overflow, Guests get kicked from the root when home players enter the zone. When the over flow pops, and you get queued, home players take precedence over guests.
Increase the zone limits to 300-400. (up from 180-200)
problem solved – in regards to this topic.
What!!!??? So guests should lose all their efforts and wasted all their time? That’s just plain self-centered and selfish. Do you not understand why it’s guesting galore right now?
I think most people that are complaining about guesters just don’t have a clue what it’s like to unfortunately be stuck on a low population server and will never understand. Honestly at this point it’s on anet, they needed to merge servers a long time ago and for some reason they just don’t.
Forget about them: they are in black lion chests. Clearly Anet doesn’tT give a flying crap about our feedback.
They can also be obtained through the minigame.
You can get it through chests and as drops in the game (and probably the dropped ones will be available from players to sell).
I am crossing my fingers that this droprate is not as ridiculous as previous ones. I don’t want everything to be handed to me freely but when they say there might not ever be an expansion and instead are bringing the content through living story well.. A rare chance at a chance of getting this rare item for a limited time is not what I describe as new game content worthy of dismissing expansions =/
But hey, thanks for reminding me.
Forget about them: they are in black lion chests. Clearly Anet doesn’tT give a flying crap about our feedback.
I say a ONE DAY “We bring them back today, get them all before they go away forever” would probably be the best of both worlds. I was not able to pay for the mining pick at the time and only got the information at the last few days =/ so I am truly annyoed over not having my full set.
It’s pretty simple: putting a PVE achievement in PVP zone = encouraging GRIEFING
Completely wrong. This instead :
“putting a PVE achievement in PVP zone = maybe it wasn’t a PVE achievement after all but a PVP one?”
How is it PVP when it doesn’t require you to pvp to get it? (if you had to kill a player to get it then that would be a pvp achievement , or put it in Stonemist per example but you really just don’t, you have to go through a Jumping Puzzle.. that ain’t pvp to me)
You think it’s legitimate PVP to spawn-camp? I don’t. Or Even just camp the kite spot (which is not at the end this time)? Players that do that know full well what they are doing and enjoy ruining other people’s fun . It’s griefing and those players are the plea of this community.
Sounds like you are putting your head in the sand here. It’s written “bound to be abused” all over it… I thought Anet was against that…
At least we can agree the way it’s handled (the whole PVE/PVP LS achievements) isn’t clear or well done for both parties here?
(edited by Kitta.3657)
It’s pretty simple: putting a PVE achievement in PVP zone = encouraging GRIEFING: that is supposed to be against Anet’s morals and views of their game yet they continue on implementing that kind of content. I do myself WvW (casual wvwer tho) and I still find this completely unacceptable. How contradictory can you be Anet? This is the second time you do this…
And to people saying “maybe they just did it before seeing the feedback?” The feedback from AR OS cache was already in before this patch rolled out and they created the game in such a way it is extremely easy for them to take something in-out of it. They could have just took that kite and put it at the end of another jumping puzzle and be done with it.. It’s not that hard. They deliberately chose to encourage poor behavior in their game and it’s why I am really frustrated over it.
I do agree that they should implement more wvw/pvp achievements with their 2weeks content patch updates as to make it fair but not intertwine them with PVE.
Guys, the new mini and weapon skins are going to be obtainable by killing holidaymobs, playing the new minigame or (at least for the new wings) trading in the candy you get from pretty much everything that has to do with the patch -.-
There has been NO MENTION WHATSOEVER of RNG chests…well except for the fact that the coffers you get for the minigame and mobs are RNG but it tells you roughly how good your chances are right on the coffers! Get a “Rich Coffer” and your chances are really high, get a regular coffer and your chances are “rare” (probably .5% again)
Do you even read the patchnotes?…
Do you even experience anet (or rather ncsoft) “rare” chances?
You are describing it like it’s wintersday, it’s clear by now from Molten Fused & Sclerite weapons that this is not the way this ship is sailing.
Although I have to say if we all end up being wrong and the tickets aren’t as hard to get then all for the better.
I hope anet aren’t basing their “we make more money with rng than putting skins in the cashshop” solely on wintersday results because those skins weren’t as nice as what we’ve seen recently. They were holiday themed so it makes them kinda irrelevant the rest of the year =/ (and I bought one)
The other day I spent 30 minutes in the entrance of Caledon Forest by the Grove just looking at the npcs and was shocked at how diversified their “outfits” are but us the players don’t have access to. It’s feeling really alienating when 70% of the armor and town clothes are more human/norn like and our only options are expensive.
Since seeing a npc on Lion’s Arch’s bridge wearing a gorgeous silvery shining top and skirt, I’ve been really envious and confused on why can’t we obtain those pieces. They’re already meshed and textured! They’re already in the game.. why can’t we have them anet ?
Here’s an album of 8 npcs I found with unknown clothing/armor models
