Besides, UW skill generally seems a lot higher than FSP. Granted, they are a lot of D/P thieves and reg warriors around, which aren’t really fun playing against, but here’s still hoping that ArenaNet someday manages to fix these.

As long as im sober my english isnt that bad.^^
But this matchup is still horrible. I just hope that dzago wont end in the same league as UW.

I might now dissapoint you but the following changes:

All duration stacking boons(Aegis, Fury, protection, Regeneration, Retaliation, Swiftness, and Vigor) and conditions(Blind, Burning, Chilled, Cripple, immobilze(now stacks duration), and Poison) now stack to a maximum of 5 times.

Are a pretty hard nerf to condition spec engineers because most conditions have a very short duration, poision dart volley, fumigate, our burns etc will all be hard hit by it.

The stability on elixir b is worth nothing, why? because its no stunbreake, if you ate a skull crack and use a stunbreak there will be no time to apply this stability before the next stun hits you so this elixir b changes wont change alot. It has casttime and traveltime, you will only be able to apply this elixir before the fight starts.

The only real buff i see here is for the bombs and dammmit was about time for that.
180-radius traited is a joke, a pretty bad one. Bombs without forceful explosives are complete useless its closer then melee range.. I love playing with bombs but with the close range and the very high casttime its more then difficult to use them offensive in wvw roaming, stability would have been awesome for that but sadly we have none and elixir b isnt goingt to help either, you get 125539 stuns, dazes and whatever before the elixir is in the air…

Tried hundreds of builds but this is the one i like the most and i use the same utilitys/trinkets for power builds and condition builds.

Im happy about the really needed area increase for bombs. But throw elixir b for stability? what the? A ground target skill with high casttime and travel time?
We need some instant-cast stunbreaker+stability skill, even if its elite.

Thief has a very high skill gap compared to that.

staff+GS, I would say, but I’m a noob, so…

no problem if youre a noob, of course you can play GS+Staff but then you are one of the guys that support the hammers. Its really that simple, either you use a hammer or you support those guys with the hammers.

It’s pretty insane when condition builds use this. Even with my thief who has extreme condition removal, the counter-play is tedious as hell.

No offense, but stop arguing from a thief point of view.
It wont add anything useful to the topic.

@topic:
I main engineer since bwe1 and right now i abuse this rune like there is no tomorrow.
ITs OP, everyone knows it and only fools or beginners deny that. Srsly you can build a character which main source of damage is this rune and it will work.
I would like to try some of the other new condition-damage runes but i cant. This rune is so strong that it outshines every other condition-rune available.

Engi – chain CC

I think a short immunity buff for CC would be great to avoid this mechanic.

Which of this classes has the most mobility, the best access to stabillity and a very short cd on AoE stun?

Srsly there is almost nothing else then warriors out there, mine is level 80 and full equipped for WvW too, i play this charracter quite often. Everyone who doesnt agree that this is the most broken class in gw2 history, then what is it?

lol @ MonMalthias i play both, warrior and engineer and for what reason should dogged march so much better then leg-mods? Its T1 AND has additional regen for a class which has insane access to stabillity, the current strongest regeneration, the current strongest mobility, more armor, more hp, more cc and even more crazier condition builds.

So does everything has to be superior on a warrior? We are currently running all warriors in WvW and im almost the only engineer i see in WvW. But i switch more and more to warrior because its just too easy compared to my multikit engineer, which becomes more and more unplayable because all those hammers, fears and whatever.

Engineer is powerful, its my main since BWE1. But some things there just drive me nuts.
I got 5 80s by now and experience with the most of them in WvW what i play most of the time. The only thing i really miss and the most urgent thing that kills me 99% of the time is the lack of stability. Playing bombs without is …. Elixir S is garbage.

that bombradius trait sucks, its just there to be annoying, without that trait you just cant use bombs, you just cant they are garbage without.

Its a full set of altruisim runes, apothekary armor an 10,0,30,20,10 spec.
Backpack regenerator, healing bombs etc.

I used a similar build before the confusion nerf in wvw but with rabid armor 4x altruism 2x water.
sometimes i use a similar one with a rifle, its 10,0,30,20,10 too but with celestial gear, Rifle, knight armor and melandru runes. My biggest problem with bombs is that forced trait in explosives, this is pure annoyance. Also i just cant play without medkit, tried that turret and i just dont like it, in such fights it gets destroyed before you can unleash the full combo.

There is a reason why people like me transfered to the lowest WvW Tier, to avoid the brainless Zergfests. But this week again we got a matchup with a server 10 ranks above us, where even now at this time a giant megablob -button-1-Train overruns everything.
This is one week of ruined fun for an entire server.
This game punishes smallscale roaming in wvw enough already but a unplayable week is to much..

The old system was very solid so why was it changed in the first place?
Because someone the internet complained about it? Seriously this is the internet, im pretty sure here are even people that complain about Pizza or Sex.

Aurora,Midnight dll injectors are some of the hacks killing the game and its easy to tell those using them.Sad thing is when you report thies players nothing happens.

Edit: LOL, at this time it would appear that RoF TOTALLY OWNS the Dzag borderland. Maybe that’s why Kontrolle is crying. All of his dudes are trying to save what’s left of EB, and our guys handed out some pay-back for the prime-time game tonight. Poor Dzags…. Pay-backs are a kitten, particularly on the last night of the matchup.

radius is way too small. You are forced to take a trait and its still too small.
Even with that trait the bomb on dodge wont heal you because you dodge outof the radius.

But yes after all this crying warriors became really hard. Unlike necros however they are still beatable. Balance is a complete mess in 1v1 right now. I play since beta and since last patch i cant beat everything just by skill right now. If there werent rocketboots i would stop roaming on engi, the boots help me to escape from battles i cant win. A whole new experience…

This game’s balance isn’t based upon 1v1, nor does it ever look like it will be.

Thats one of the top 5 stupid answers in this forums.
Of course it is balanced about 1v1 and it has to be balanced about 1v1.
There are no roles every class can do everything, there is no trinity and the spvp mode itself forces you in 1v1 every time.

its quite obvious that you need the bombkit.
Slickshoes AND rocketboots cry for that.
Aoestun, aoe launch, aoe knockdown, lol even a small aoe pull with KR.

Still i prefer e-gun over slickshoes. I really have to test superspeed+rocketjump next time.
Jumping through masses of enemys laying down a couple of bombs and jumping back with the acid thing is wounderful.

Rocket boots are so amazing.
Elixir gun, my selfdesired must have, has a stunbreaker now.
There are hundreds of builds i test atm.

But so far the elixir-gun/rocketboots + anything is the best for me.
i prefer bombs for constant combomadness. I once tried a hgh build but it sucked so hard and failed because im used to have 3-4 kits.

When I feel this way, I play WvW. It never gets old

WvW is awful, its zergs running from objective to objective for points (for what? +5% more crafting bonus?). Theres small guild 5/10 mans all in vent running around destroying stragglers and maybe 1/50 times find a decent fight with people on their level/organization. The rewards are trash, and I honestly feel 0 pride in knowing my server played musical objectives better than another server, nor do I care since again the rewards are trash.

DAoC did tri faction open world PvP perfectly, all WAR had to do was emulate it, but it failed to do that with the same dev team behind it. And GW2 WvWvW is 100x worse than WAR’s. Comparing GW2 WvWvW to any decent games open world PvP is like comparing put-put golf to 18 holes at pebble beach.

I Agree to some point but no way in hell was WAR better in any way.
In WAR there were just zergs avoiding eachother to raid keeps, circle raiding npcs all day long for armor dropps. It was horrible unbalanced in terms of population. It failed after a couple of months for a reason.

GW2 WvW could be fixed with 1 patch, new (alot) bigger WvW maps and more reason to roam for small groups is the only way to make this work.

When i manage to capture a camp solo while 2 enemies defending it i get alot less reward then the 1 spamming lemming who zerged a fortress. Thats pathethic.

Had a “fun” fight today where i outplayed a thief so hard, every other prof would have lost. I launched, kicked, stunned, immobalized and pulled him more then a dozen times and he still could get away each time. No matter how you play if he is half decent he can get away always and if you decide to leave the battle you cant because he can catch up.

Thief is so dominant that it forces every other class to build for it. If i create WvW builds for any of my 4 80s i have to build them against thiefs. The whole spec has to be thiefprooved or its unvailable.
Its just 1 single profession here that forces me to take certain gear and traits.

Jes i like to solo roam in WvW but atm its just not fun because of just 1 single class and no its not the op bm-ranger, not the so popular staff-mesmer and surely not the D/D-ele.

How in the world do I deal with Retaliation?

Its true though, in wvw zergs i usually pop SYG (ima guardian) and wirldwind away in a zerg. Critting for 4-8k on lots of targets, dealing 80k+ damage with 1 button, killing myself in the process IF retaliation is up on the enemies lol.

Im usualy forced to abort wirling wrath before it ends :/

If you use gs – increase your hp pool, it help’s sometimes.

I run hybrid bunker guardian with 22k hp and 3.1k armor. Coupled with that i got 3.3k attack, 60% crit and 70% crit damage in zergs, i kill myself with a single WW.

Would you mind to share with us how on earth youre able to get such stats?
Or are you just trolling?

It’s not the 1v1’s being annoying or too hard, it’s the massive population of thieves at roaming that gets so annoying. 1 thief to beat in 1v1 is already hard enough due their huge advantage, not to mention 2 thieves. I’ve seen the most skill-less thieves beating me in a 1v2 just because they could easily, and I mean like really easy, keep up stealth and just spam 2 to win. It’s not that they would even have a chance beating me in 1vs1, but then again theres a 50% chance of thieves running away in 1v1 once they hit below 50% health which I still see more as a loss than a win.

I could (and actually have been) count the amount of roamers I meet in a few hours of roaming on different maps. My last count was around 70% and I even counted a few non roamers in there. It’s just amazing how easy it is for a thief to be effective in an outnumbered small scaled situation.

Actually, i think ANet is using physical interaction as a balancing element. Notice the rigidity of weapon skill positions, never mind that they rearranged a guardian set because it was too easy to just 1-2-3 your way down the row.

RSI should never be a tool for balance. You shouldn’t design a part of the game around the idea of causing what is considered an injury in medical terms to the players. I don’t normally criticize ANet, their staff, or how their game is designed… but if that is the case, someone is a sadistic kitten and should not be permitted to make decisions on anything that requires interaction from other humans.

Le edit: On a brighter note, I would actually be satisfied if someone at ANet just came out and said “hey guys, we realize RSI is a problem, and just wanted to let you know that until we find a better solution, you are permitted to make and use a macro that keeps using the grenade kit #1 skill while your chosen button is pressed.” That would be satisfactory. Not ideal, but good enough.

^So much this. I don’t even know if that could be legal in NA (I know that people in NA charge companies for some odd reasons so I don’t know :P).
And also, it would not be a balance around players because some players, who don’t care about their fingers’ health would spam more and more while people who care about their fingers would stop …

and the third group who buy a top-of-the-line mouse with all the number keys on the side to avoid the issue alltogether

This tool is a must have for beeing an engineer and not just for nades. Its so important that i would even say its recuirement to have success with this class.

I hear skill players can rotate their camera so they throw grenades behind themselves while kiting and running, letting them kite and do decent DPS while doing so. The auto attack would ruin that.

No one of the so called “skill” players you obviosly dont know has the time to use that crap skill, the damage is a joke and you have plenty of other tools to use before you use #1 fron the grenades.

8 out of 10 1v1 fights i have are against stealhtspam thieves.
Most 1vs2 i have are against 2 thives at once.
So either this game is unbalanced or its just not fun.

I know ~6 people in real live that stopped playing months ago because of this.
Im close to it because im forced to run specific builds and specifig gear just to counter 1 single class. Against every other professions its skill that decides the outcome of the battle. Against this one its gear and build.

Pure bunkers might work in lol-spvp. For the rest of the game not so much.
All builds ive posted have a good sustain with 1, 6k+ toughness.
Btw yours is incomplete without gamemode, armor and runes.

Explosive: Shrapnell now has a 5 second ICD
Firearms: precise sight now has a 5 second ICD.
Inventions: Elixir infused bombs now have a 5 second ICD.
Alchemy: Cleaning formular 409 now has a 5 second ICD.
Tools: Static Discharge now has a 5 second ICD.

Tadaa the 5 changes for the engineer.
Im here since beta, thats the way the devs encouraged “build diversity” the last time.
Nerfraping decent builds IS a way to encourage people to play other builds.

Kit refinement, incedairy powder, elixir s and confusion got nerfraped so much that i cant find any words for that, meanwhile all other classes got huge buffs.

You can still do fine but you have to work twice as hard.
Best example are rangers they really hard to beat right now and all they do is spam autoattack and rampage as one while i have to pull everything of and dance through kits like mad. Balance is a mess.
