1. Why did they literally pave over the priceless ruins of the old royal palace with some random street? It was still intact. Wouldn’t the priory care? What happened to their excavation?
While it’s hard to say why, the Priory doesn’t seem concerned. They are interested in Scarlet and the breach, now. I think they believe that the breach would have uncovered buried artifacts of Orr or something.
2. What happened to Kerryn Deverol? In the previous patch she was sitting around on her island saying a chapel was going to be airlifted in there (which was sort of confusing in of itself) but now it’s a garden instead and, despite it being named after her, she’s nowhere to be found.
Considering her relationship with the Consortium and their current activeness, I’d imagine she is somewhere with them awaiting the Chapel. I think the Chapel is still coming and will likely be in place after the nearby Guild Initiative building is complete. The representatives are clearly still working on it, which implies that LA still isn’t finished.
3. What happened to Evon Gnashblades partner? I forget her name – The Sylvari. She’s not in the new building. Did she die? She was in Edge of Destiny, so that seems kinda notable.
You mean Sareb? She disappeared a while ago without any mention. Since Evon Gnashblade is so shrouded in mystery, her whereabouts (or fate) are still up in the air.
4. Where did the Zaishen go? The little half-fort they hung out in is gone, as well. Have they been retconned?
Perhaps they left of their own accord. We know they don’t agree with the Consortium, so maybe they’ll return if the Consortium turns on us or something.
5. Why are multiple Krytan royal banners flying over the entrance to the Eastern Ward? Isn’t LA pretty big on not acknowledging royal authority?
I only see 2 banners heading from the portals to Postern Ward. It’s hard to say why they are there, though. Either ANet put the wrong emblem on the flags, or we’re to assume Krytans either live in those towers and hung the banners themselves or Kryta has taken claim of part of the neighborhood. If you go to Silverwastes as a non-human and speak to the human leader of the pact, you comment on how humans feel the need to always claim things. Perhaps this is a nod to that.
6. A dam has been built over the river near the lighthouse, but water is still somehow flowing through it as normal. What? I guess that’s not quite a lore concern, but still.
It’s curved, rusted, and briny. If it is a dam, I don’t think it’s meant to stop the flow of water.
7. Where is the Lionguards headquarters, now? It’s not in Fort Marriner anymore.
Not sure. Magnus makes a comment about them being shorthanded (though I’d swear there’s more Lionguard in the city now than there ever was), so maybe something’s going on there.
8. Why did they destroy the, like… Actual “Lions Arch”? The big archway with the Lion statues? Now the name doesn’t really make any sense.
Yeah, it’s weird that the Captain’s Council allowed that to happen.
1) The Consortium is a buisness, so I don`t think they do things for free. As it seems the council gave them every design decision.
Though we are unaware on how much it actually was. Right now it really seems Get rid of the old in with the new.
Not being paid upfront doesn’t mean that you are doing the work for free, though.
(On a side note, on reddit someone had a dev talk saying that the old lions statue is gone for good and the new one is the replacement)
A historical marker is not a replacement for a historical building that has been rebuild and “survived” many ordeal as well as being a symbol of the city and it`s inhabitants.
It was rebuilt in a different location, though. The marker just recognizes it’s importance.
3) Doesn`t matter if the city looks more friendlier. A fort should be able to be fortified. Which measn able to house the inhabitants of the city and close the gates behind them to protect them from ground forces.
The fort is still fortified. It’s surrounded by cannons on all sides facing the sea and the giant war factory to its south.
4) Doesn`t explain it though. Sure he has a building, but that`s it. No other explanation so far
Right, but my point was that it’s not a flaw, which I thought was the point of your post. If you were actually asking what happened, the answer is that we don’t know yet and the NPC dialogue just highlights it.
6) This is clearly a designers idea. Still don`t like it and I would like some not-lore explanations.
On the lore side I find it really sad though. So much history just brushed away for unnecceary glamour.
Everything is a designer’s idea. And the only not-lore explanation is that it looks cool. The in-universe explanation would be that the Consortium’s architects thought it was a good idea.
11) Yes the order was recruting in the open but still had hidden hideouts. LA had one of the biggest.
Now they got half a building, which is nothing more than a bar and no hidden place (most of them are prettey cool around the world, btw.)
Perhaps with the city growing, they didn’t want to put such a large base there? Hard to say what the in-universe explanation would be.
12) The lighthouse is like a shell, I get that. However one of the beams is pointed at the mountain behind it and serves no purpose that way.
Based on what Kiel said, the lighthouse isn’t so much about guiding ships in as it is about just providing light, in general. From that standpoint, I’d imagine it’s not pointless to have a beam of light facing any direction.
13) Southeast was a big plantation. There was farming going on.
Still seems to be there in Farshore Ward. What’s different?
I don’t remember any farmers actually farming in LA, but if that was the case, it makes sense that the Consortium would rather put them to work in their own way.
If I recall correctly there was a farm near the pirate jumping puzzle… we had to jump on bales of hay to reach the path up the mountainside that led to the puzzle.
Ah yes, I see. I’m looking at the farm, now, in Farshore Ward. It still seems to look the same as it did prior to the update.
8) Where do people live? In the half-boats near the captains council? The are that looks unfinished?
Some, yes. If you travel the Commodore’s Quarter, there are several closed doors (they have yellow panes) and a few open wooden doors. Several of the closed doors are attached to towers with windows going all the way up to their attics. These buildings and towers also have pipes along them, which implies plumbing. The area is extremely residential and appears to house significantly more residents than before.
9) Who killed the Sylvari?
It’s being investigated. lol
11) Why does the Order of Secret run a bar openly? Why don`t they have a hideout anymore but a lazy teleport/tunnel to their own secret HQ? Isn`t that dangerous?
The Order of Whispers has always had open locations. They aren’t a secret society. They are just an organization that deals in secrets.
12) Who designed the lighthouse and why does it have a spotlight on the Mountain 200m away?
While I don’t know the first part, the addition of cannons implies that whoever designed it was thinking about security.
The second part of your question, I don’t know what you’re saying. The lighthouse doesn’t point in any particular direction. As you spiral up, you’ll see that it has spotlights pointing in every direction. This is slightly explained by Ellen Kiel. She says than an asuran stargazer is complaining about light pollution from the lighthouse and she explains that the lighthouse is meant to light the entire harbor.
13) What about the farmers? Do they have to become city dwellers now? Is their land being turned into the new moa racing track?
I don’t remember any farmers actually farming in LA, but if that was the case, it makes sense that the Consortium would rather put them to work in their own way.
I am by no means a lore expert nor was I very attentive with the previous LA designs. But I think I can answer a few of your concerns.
For me it seems like they had way too much money. From a city that was in dire need, we turn to a city that is for 1. artisticaly and geographicaly very differently then before, while barely including old buildings (which weren`t destroyed) and 2 screams: “We got soooo much money to throw around.”
I expected a balanced combination of old and new. What we got was 80% new, 10% I don`t know and 10% of the old.
It’s not “they” that had so much money. During the rebuild, the captains council was meeting and while we couldn’t tell what was being said, they were all talking at once so we’re to assume that the conversation was intense, even though it wasn’t detailed. My theory is: it was the debate of how much control to give the Consortium, but that’s pure speculation.
What we know for sure is that the Magnus asked Hero-tron if it knew how to help people get to work. It’s possible that at this point, the Consortium was making their bid and only required that citizens be willing to work for them, just like in Southsun.
But yeah, you’re right. LA was poor and wasn’t prepared to rebuild itself. But the Consortium was. As you go through the streets of LA (particularly the Commodore’s Quarter near the Consortium’s offices), you can surmise that the Consortium is up to something.
1) Where is the old lions statue and fountain? The only Lion I found was at the “Heart of the Mist” portal and that is new.
On the southern edge of the Grand Piazza is a historical marker of the old location of the Lion statue.
Lion’s Arch Historical Marker
Original site of the Lion’s Court statue and fountain, destroyed by the forces of Scarlet Briar in 1327 AE.
3) Why are there no doors or gates at Fort Mariner? Shouldn`t it be fortified more? There are no signs of force fields either.
In general, the Consortium has made Lion’s Arch a much friendlier place. It appears to be much more residential than trade-oriented, now, which aligns with the Consortium’s previous project of attempting to create a resort out of treacherous lands.
This isn’t to say they are leaving the city defenseless. Using the nearest vista (in Bloodcoast Ward) will highlight the very large structure to the south of Fort Marriner, which appears to have a ship floating in it. This is likely a war factory where ships are being manufactured to defend LA (or for nefarious reasons yet to be determined).
4) Why does Evon Gnashblade propser if the Consortium got the deal? (an NPC in Fort Mariner claims that that was the case)
Near the Trader’s Forum is a building called The Vaults. This is owned by the Black Lion Trading Company and has several NPCs as well as one guarding a secret vault. That is the most obvious sign of their prosperity.
Prior to the rebuilding stage of LA, Evon Gnashblade could be seen talking to (or blackmailing) Hero-tron. He knew about Hero-tron’s connection to the Consortium which implied that the rest of the Captain’s Council did not. Perhaps Evon has something sneaky going on behind the scenes with (or against) the Consortium.
5) What did Evon do to become captain again?
He purchased a ship when the Captain’s Council was being formed so that he could be considered a captain.
6) Why were structures destroyed that were not damaged? In extension, why was there effort put in to clear whole mountains?
If we look at the Consortium’s design, they were very intent on getting rid of the old and replacing with the new. During the rebuilding stage, a few Consortium NPCs could be seen using machines to do something (measure distances, connect far points, etc.) which implied to me that they were going to be using their technology to do something drastic. Which they did.
Prior to the rebuild, LA seemed very patchy. The Consortium likely wanted a finished product.
7) Why is the city designs so unstructured? Everything feels unnatural.
That’s subjective, Personally, I love the design. Key city structures are modeled after sea creatures. Everything else is residential or commercial.
I agree, it sucks what they did to low level toons. I would have preferred to be able to choose how the hero points were spent on characters that have very few.
Well, I shouldn’t say that I didn’t lose anything.
My low level alt that was created before the trait rehaul lost all of its unlocked traits. :/
Nvm, I think I understand it. It unlearned everything and then only spent just enough hero points to restore my build. Seems a strange system, IMO, but at least it means I didn’t lose anything. Leveling with this system seems like it’ll be fun though!
Is it just me or did I lose some of my skills and traits? I’m told to spend hero points on Core Skills and Core Specializations to buy skills that I owned prior to the patch.
Is this a bug or a feature?
Did it only give me back the skills/traits I’m using and take everything else away so that I’d have to spend Hero Points?
(edited by Koviko.3248)
I don’t see why anyone would want to make it more expensive. What would that accomplish? Making it so that new players are punished for being new?
We can’t even do something like 22066.
Can’t do it now, either. lol
Let’s have a legitimate debate, not an argument. Make a point.
You didn’t even make a legitimate OP.
- You don’t understand the meaning of vertical progression [at all]. <- cwutididthar
- You think Ascended gear’s stats are not its own reward.
- You undervalue the difference 5% of whatever stats you choose can make.
- You antagonize some imaginary “whiner.”
You have no idea what you are talking about, nor can you demand any particular type of response to such a horribly uninformed thread topic.

Build diversity will likely decrease, sure, but just like WoW’s talent overhaul, it makes the system easier so you focus less on tweaking and more on playing.
You don’t have to pre-purchase if you don’t want to…
HoT Pre-Purchase Questions and Feedback [merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Koviko.3248
Step 1. Give all the people who have purchased the standard game some amount of gems/slots etc.
Step 2. Release a cheaper version of the game that’s upgrade only
Both of these mean less money.
Won’t happen.
Different people are upset for different reasons. The one thing a lot of us agree on is that something needs to change.
Everyone is so mad about a 10$ difference that we have losers leaving the game altogether
It’s not just $10. It’s EVERYONE’S $10. It’s an extra 20% profit margin for what? Less content?
Even WoW increased the amount of character slots people got per server when they released expansions.
WoW doesn’t set the standard price. They have the largest MMO there is, on what base does any other developer ask the same price and offer you a much smaller community?
Yup. Smaller community, smaller world, less content, slower development, etc. Every time I have to use a load screen to walk from one map to another, I feel embarassed that ANet couldn’t figure out how to do a single flowing map like WoW did.
GW2 is a fantastic game, don’t get me wrong. I’d choose (and chose) GW2 over WoW any day of the week. But I agree that if we’re comparing prices, then we should consider that the gold standard doesn’t set the price for all games, just for games of the same caliber.
You… DO realize they havent even touched on the pve content yet, right? I mean, even the guild halls are kittening huge. Plus you’re getting another 2100 gems worth of stuff too. Not to mention beta access.
Mind you, if you’ve spent the gems or redeemed the code, you’re probably SoL and will risk account closure to get a refund. Plus if you want a refund already, certainly you were less than 100% sure you were wanting to put the money into it?
I do realize they haven’t touched on all of it yet, which is why I realized that I felt weird about pre-purchasing. I’m buying something that I really don’t know much about, and paying $50 for it. In my mind, I was paying $50 for 4000 gems and bunch of cool collectibles, but it didn’t occur to me until afterwards that I was also paying $50 for a mystery expansion.
I don’t know. I’m debating hitting submit on the ticket. If the price is never going to decrease, then I guess the refund is pointless.
But I’m really hoping it’ll decrease after the betas are over.
I’m not saying that I won’t purchase HoT. I will definitely 100% be playing HoT when it’s released.
I just don’t feel comfortable with my pre-purchase, anymore.
So you are 100% you are going to buy HoT when it is released. You bought HoT before it is released but you will have it when it is released. So if you are 100% sure then I don’t see the problem. You bought something you just said you were 100% sure you were going to buy. You just don’t get to use it yet aside from beta.
I’m secretly hoping the price will drop by then. Maybe there’s a $10 premium on there for beta access, which I wouldn’t be able to take advantage of anyway. I’ve been invited to the betas before but they never fit my schedule.
https://help.guildwars2.com/entries/27697743-Refunds
“Note: The refund process includes permanent closure of the Guild Wars 2 account. If you wish to continue to play Guild Wars 2, or if you desire to play in the future, you will need to purchase a new serial code and create a completely new account. Characters, names, items, and other features from the refunded account cannot be transferred to a new or different account. Not all serial code purchases will be eligible for a refund. No refunds will be given for any account that has been terminated for a breach of the Guild Wars 2 User Agreement.”
Um… that’s kinda scary. :/
I’m not saying that I won’t purchase HoT. I will definitely 100% be playing HoT when it’s released.
I just don’t feel comfortable with my pre-purchase, anymore.
Well, yeah. The opinions of others have influenced my decision. They made me realize that the expansion is just a bit overpriced in terms of the content that’s actually going to be in it. I regret pre-paying for it. I may still buy it after release, but I feel stupid for pre-paying.
I spent the 100 dollars thinking “oh, I get $50 in gems basically for free” without even realizing, “wait, I’m paying $50 for a tiny expansion.”
When I originally bought GW2, I got:
- dozens of fleshed out maps,
- several dungeons,
- multiple PvP & WvW maps,
- reworked classes from GW1, and
- a full personal story (and promise of a Living Story).
Now, for the same price, I’m getting much less. I don’t know… My first thought when I pre-purchased was that I was supporting a game that I love. Usually, I support the game with gems, though. I didn’t plan on participating in the beta because I’d like the gameplay to be fresh when it releases.
$50 of the money I’m spending to support the game doesn’t give me gems and doesn’t give me $50 worth of content…
I’d honestly just like to get a refund, for now. I’d hate to think that a company I’ve trusted for so long would just run off with my money even though I’m not happy with my purchase.
:/
Relogging fixed it for me. I think that if you wait too long to make your purchase, your authentication gets wonky.
Why accommodate people who didn’t put in the time for it?
Why do you assume this is an “accommodation” and not “a necessary balance change”?
and at the expense of something that’s already okay
According to who? You? ANet seems to disagree.
and more importantly earned.
And even more importantly, makes it harder for those that haven’t yet earned it to earn it.
Out of the available mastery’s it has the most incentive as it affects you the entire time vs siege usage.
Therefore, it’s TOO important in comparison to the rest of the options and needs to be rebalanced.
If you want to put players such as newer ones on the same level as existing ones just make the cost cheaper.
This goes against your “earn it” statement.
Forcing the idea of putting points into other/improved Mastery’s isn’t a good compromise for those in favor of using the two that are being removed.
The current system FORCES you to put points into these already. Getting rid of them doesn’t FORCE you to do anything. It’s the opposite.
Where did all that hard work go?
Into every single other possible attribute.
They put the time into it therefore they deserve it.
Deserve what?
You don’t like grinding stacks? or especially when you have to respond quickly to another WvW map? […] You don’t like pve?
If players don’t like something, you think it should stay? You do realize this is a game, right?
They don’t really explain the reasoning behind the PC getting the seal after the mission is complete. I looked at it as more of a flavor item and promptly tossed it. In my eyes, Caithe still has the original.
Perhaps you can take this time to do all of the existing content you haven’t yet done.
It should be over on Tuesday. There probably won’t be anything new after it.
I wonder if Sylvari ever smell sweaty. Even at their sweatiest, they probably smell like morning dew.
Even Belinda got this treatment; even the Master of Peace and Wynne got this treatment. Plots need more screen time.
I completely agree and hope that ANet is taking steps to rectify this for future characters. It feels like every time we meet a new character, they are snatched away before we get to learn anything more than their most basic, shallow backstory. I feel like I got to know some Heart NPCs even more than I got to know Belinda.
At the start of the Festival of the Four Winds (when I started playing GW2 after being scared off by the Queensdale champ train), I met the major characters of Living World by listening to them talk to each other. Just their interactions taught me a lot about them and got me interested in knowing more. That kind of “RP-time” with the characters was intriguing to me and I was disappointed that there wasn’t more of it.
I think it’s less that they have a profession and more that they know certain profession skills. For example, Inquest Technicians know the Elementalist’s Phoenix attack and a miniature Static Field, but those are from two different weapon sets. Also, their auto-attack is a rifle, which Elementalists can’t use.
That said, I haven’t really examined the abilities of friendly NPCs too deeply, but I assume it’s a similar thing for them. They have an iconic attack or two, but that’s the extent of their “professional” knowledge.
Then again… Typically, an NPC being of a particular profession in GW1 meant that they only had a few of the attacks that the profession had (or similar attacks to the style of the profession). So, maybe the NPCs do technically have professions by the old GW1 logic of what made an NPC a particular profession.
Of course, I’m speaking as a GW1 player that never made it to level 20 so my experience is limited there.
I disagree.
Yes, Malyck is a cool piece of lore, but the storytelling with him was short and lackluster. Like everything else in the Personal Story, our character jumps in, makes some quick decisions, and ends it. Also, depending on the story choices you make, you learn different things about Malyck.
In the Living Story, we got some very good storytelling in the form of time travel. Seeing Caithe’s memories was far more eye-opening than just being told about them by an NPC against a moving background.
To me, what the personal story should be is most of the branches laid out in sequence. Still separated by race, order, and racial sympathy, but that’s it. Everything else should all be experienced on the same character, IMO. We’d be able to see more of the story per character and ANet would probably be able to have NPCs react to our story more easily. They already have NPC interactions based on race and order, and that’s all they would ever need because those two flags tell any NPC exactly what story you experienced.
I really like the no-nose face. Reminds me that Sylvari aren’t just GW2’s version of Wood Elves.
Why are people complaining about not having Season 2 but don’t complain about not having Season 1? I wish I could just buy Season 1. You have the ability to buy Living Story content that you weren’t online for and you’re complaining about it…. Some people.
eone of the condition is Taunt. They explained that this will make your target run towards you and all skills except the auto atacks and stun breakers will be locked.
So yes, Taunt in gw2 works pretty much like any other taunt in any other game. Forces the target to run to you and atack you with the most basic atacks.
That’s actually not true. The article didn’t say it will run to you
Taunt will be used to both reposition foes and change your foes’ targets. For example, when used on players, it will force the taunted player to run at their target with their skill bar locked—minus stun breakers—and only use their autoattack skill to attack. This gives us the opportunity to use taunt in multiple ways, not just as a player skill, but also as a tool to create interesting creature encounters that utilize this taunt effect against players.
While what they say here is a bit ambiguous, it doesn’t necessarily say that Taunt will force your opponent to attack you, but it will attack someone.
Living World Season 1 isn’t replayable like Living Story Season 2. The content was only available during the few weeks that it was “happening.” The idea behind the Living World was that if you weren’t online in Tyria while it was happening, then you just weren’t a part of it.
Clones don’t prove anything… Clones are temporary and require you to actually have something to clone. What you’re suggesting is that we literally take the Caladbolg from Trahearne’s hands, clone it, and somehow make that clone last an eternity.
Entertaining the idea of making an almost-Caladbolg, I think it’d be cool to replace the Pale Tree’s aura with an aura made by your class. I stand by the idea that the actual aura is unique to the Pale Tree, but maybe Mesmers have their pink butterflies, Necromancers have green moths, etc. I wouldn’t see any reason for that to be impossible, and I think it’d actually be a really neat touch to make the most legendary sword in Tyria even more legendary.
In my opinion, the idea of multiple paths was just a “cool-factor” that they wanted to bring to the game based on feedback from GW1. Several GW1 players didn’t like how little control they had over the story and ANet tried to give them more control in GW2.
However, the control that we were given ended up being inconsequential. For example, I am a Noble Krytan, but neither Kasmeer nor Countess Anise has never acknowledged this when I speak to them. My choices to save the lives of certain characters typically only ended in a nod somewhere later in the story where that character would just be standing around and says “Thanks” if I spoke to them.
Personally, I think the Personal Story would be much stronger if it were linear. Also, I think it should deal with something other than the Pact and Zhaitan. The current story means that the PS takes place between the release of GW2 and the death of Zhaitan. However, you can play through it at any time, meaning there’s confusion in the timeline. I believe the events of the PS should be time-independent in that its events could have happened to any PC at any point in the timeline.
Also, I’d love for it to be replayable. I got the impression that one of the reasons they can’t make it replayable is because of the choices. They want the choices to be permanent per character, but allowing you to replay would probably allow you to make different choices (and get multiple rewards from the different paths).
In the context of mathematics, many terms have completely different meanings than they would otherwise. In the case of the lore here, having any lack of correlation breaks down the likelihood of any correlation existing.
Sorry, I’ve been playing a lot of GW1. Bruno’s right that pretty much no NPCs actually have a profession in GW2, especially not the friendly NPCs (unless they are a trait merchant).
@Torsailr & @Rhaegar:
The things that both of you suggested are the kinds of things that would basically be an expansion. It isn’t as simple as just altering Orr. This is basically creating new maps. Not only would the maps themselves need to be altered, but all of the content would be completely new. On 3 large maps. And both of your suggestions imply major story arcs. ANet doesn’t do multiple story arcs simultaneously as it’d spread out the player base.
Not only would Orr need to be changed, but the Personal Story would need to be changed. This isn’t to say that the Personal Story shouldn’t be changed, anyway (I’d personally love to see the same system used for LS S2 in the PS so it’d be replayable), since the Personal Story would be much stronger if it were linear and took advantage of the new cinematic style that ANet has been experimenting with. However, this is no small task. Remember that the Personal Story was part of the “things to fix from GW1” list that GW2 was meant to fulfill. The PS is the open-world MMO version of the instanced storytelling of GW1. That ideology — coupled with the fact that red posts on the matter always seem to imply that changing the PS is hard to do — implies that simply changing the PS is no simple task.
Your ideas are very cool (especially the gradual cleansing suggested by Torsailr), but a bit unrealistic to expect of ANet at the moment. They are currently focused on delivering new content instead of modifying old content. I wouldn’t expect to see any updates to Orr or the Personal Story until after we are done the Mordremoth arc.

Foolish? The primary definition of a replica is an exact duplicate.
As in having the same look. Not the same function or origins.
Which Konig already said and I already responded to. The aura is visual and only the Pale Tree can create it.
You are giving the definition while quoting me already saying that’s the definition…
Once again: the part of it that can’t be an exact replica is the aura. I’ve already conceded that everything except the aura can be duplicated. I understand the meaning of the word replica.
You can recreate the wood. You can recreate the vines, You could even recreate the glow. But the aura is unique and there’s zero evidence that any being aside from the Pale Tree is capable of creating it. This is the point that no one has been able to refute and until anyone can, I have no reason to assume that I am incorrect.
As I said before: You can make a glowing viney wooden sword, but you can’t make the butterfly aura without the Pale Tree’s magic.
ANet is going to be pushing the Squad system in HoT, so this will be a non-issue for people that join your squad. Squad chat is accessed via /d.
For any that haven’t heard, they are adding “raid lead” tools to commanders that apply to all players in their squad. It includes a beam of light that highlights the squadded commander as well as the ability to put “raid markers” on the ground to mark locations for your squad.
That said, the primary disadvantage of the squad will probably still be an issue: you won’t be able to see other commander tags while you are squadded.
I’d imagine Legendary armor to be similar to Radiant armor. Radiant armor’s distinct glow is prestigious. We all know where it comes from and immediately we know that we are looking at an achievement hunter.
Something flashy… Glowy? Maybe some streaks? Or possibly effects that only occur on cast?
There was a Challenge Mode (a set of dungeons with strict rules, gear scaling, extra boss mechanics, and time limits) set in WoW that I wore on my Mage that had bright floating Dalaran icons over my head and shoulders whenever I cast or channeled a spell. I thought that was pretty cool.
Maybe some of the Vulnerability and Weakness abilities will get the new condis added to them.
I’ve gotten some good advice from players in Heart of the Mists, before, though. As a former WoW player, I expected to be immediately shamed and ridiculed, but there’s always people willing to answer your questions, there (at least in my experience).
