Does anyone on the PvP forum have anything nice to say ever about anything? Jesus, you guys. This is my first time ever visiting this forum and it’s quite possibly the most toxic forum here. Worse than General Discussion.,
must be true since everyone i met said so
Reading your other topics, it seems you got issues, lots of them.
Like this nice little gem. https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/hot/what-are-the-chances-that
Josh needs his forum name changed to Sir Salt.5839.
Then don’t buy it. The rest of us will be just fine playing Stronghold without you.
We’ll miss ya, buddy.

If you guys are interested in supporting NCSoft more, now is the time to buy Gems.
Best Buy (in the United States, only) is selling Gem Cards for 10% off. I don’t believe we’ve ever had a sale on Gems, so now’s the time to stock up.
Personally, I bought a LOT of Gems and am holding onto them until a good deal shows up on the Gem Store.
I really like the 5 daily wins (at least so far… maybe I’ll get tired of it later). The interrupts are a bit much, but since ANet hasn’t changed it, I imagine they meant for it to be this way. So, it’s just a time-consuming achievement.
And it’s because ANet hopes that if they, PvE players, get hooked on PvP/Fractals/WvW, that’s “new” content to them and content ANet doesn’t have to generate since it’s already there, just underused by some.
Is that a bad thing? People are missing out on huge chunks of the game, yet claiming that they don’t have anything left to do in-game.
I never got the impression that everyone was supposed to do every achievement. Some achievements take more effort than others. This is one of them.
There’s no meta. There’s no requirement for you to finish the achievement. It’s only 5 points.
Let it go.
The time-gating is per account, but the Ascended gear is also per account. You just have to go through the trouble of moving your gear sets around to multiple characters. If they were character-bound, then you’d have a valid point. But they are not.
If you have Black Lion Salvage Kits, you can buy good runes now and then salvage them out of your gear using the BL kits when you make your Ascended armor.
Aspect Arena was my favorite PvP experience (and the one that made me interested in PvP in general).
Sorry I’m just not impressed. There are players in dragon ball who literally have no idea what they are doing…
…and it looks like you just got a video of one team being stacked with good/okay players and another team with okay/bad players.
Happens in PvP all the time.
Personally, I play almost exactly the way the OP plays and I’ve come into losing games and personally turned them around. Having one really strong player on your team can turn the tide in your favor, especially if you can deliberately take advantage of the Quad damage to really push your team over the tipping point. This playstyle is very effective.
a four-minute video with closed caption commentary (if you turn it on) of the thought process of someone scoring 20+ points in Dragon Ball.
This is pretty much exactly how I play and I am always the top player on my team, with 16 or so kills and an estimated win ratio of more than 90%. I’ve never reached 20 kills in a single match, however. I also run with a Commander tag up so that my teammates know where I am without looking at the map.
There are a few things that you don’t mention you are doing, but you are doing:
- Jumping to make sure your attacks aren’t Obstructed. Jumping helps maximize both your #1 and #2 skills by avoiding obstructions.
- Setting up skill #1 to auto-attack at the start of the match. Your video starts just shy of you doing this, but it’s worth noting that it assists greatly with target tracking and overall DPS due to better handling of position lag and a faster response from your character when you are turning your camera a lot.
- Positioning yourself behind your opponent. Since the primary attack skill can only shoot forward, being behind your opponent as often as possible means that they are doing no (or very little) damage to you.
After getting 100 wins, I decided to focus on the Dragon Gaze achievement. This means playing riskier and allowing my targets to engage with me before killing them (if they die to the kick, the Interrupt doesn’t count).
I’ve seen a lot of very cool combinations. I’m not convinced that the skins look bad, especially the skins that you don’t get just from casual gameplay.
I don’t really get the whole gold sink aspect. GW2 doesn’t need gold sinks. The TP trends don’t reflect a game in which the majority of players have too much money. The economy seems just fine.
Because we have gold sinks.
The argument you’re making is similar to the argument people make for not vaccinating their children. They see that the diseases appear to no longer be a threat, and then choose to remove the thing that keeps it from being a threat, thus making it a threat, again.
Im sure its not your intention but this thread is kinda racist tbh. How would it look if i made one titled ‘post your white (caucasian) only charecters’.
there’s no caucasian race in the game; there can be tyrian race if you wish.
and the thread is about sentiment to old continents from the better game.
The post title was changed after he made that statement. It didn’t say “Canthan/Elonian” originally.
Since map completion is character bound, it makes since that the rewarded star is character bound.
If you’re gonna complain about Laurels being time-gated, then you need to complain about
- Only being able to do dailies once a day,
- Pristine Fractal Relics,
- Dungeon completion rewards,
- World boss rewards,
- Jump puzzle rewards,
- Open world chest rewards, and
- Diminishing returns mechanics.
The game isn’t meant to be farmable. The game isn’t designed to allow you to continuously grind anything, no matter how dedicated of a player you consider yourself to be. Things take time by design.
What map/events are these 5-6 giants?
I’m finding the hardest part about this achievement is when the enemy team gives up and refuses to cast anything for the rest of the match.
Are you sure? I’ve seen the kick orb spawn 1 second after being picked up, before.
The kick orb is a bit different, as it actually has a couple of spawn points in that middle area, next to each other. Those spawn points will each be on their own individual, staggered timer.
Theoretically, it’s possible to have two kick orbs at the same time next to each other, but the chances of them going unclaimed in such a well-travelled location is very low.
I don’t think that’s true. There’s only two spawn points that I am aware of:
- On the side with the pipe, it will spawn right next to the pipe, and
- On the other side, it spawns closer to the middle, away from the wall.
When I saw it respawn, it was in the same location. A teammate picked it up, and as I was running away, it came back.
Has ANet ever changed the requirements for an achievement before? If not, I can’t see this being the time they decide to change their minds.
I don’t know about the invisibility one, but I believe the damage buff comes at 27:20. Why it’s 27:20 and not 27:30, I dunno, but I made note of when it popped up one match, and it seemed to come up at 27:20 everytime, so I just used that to get the achievement easily.
I’m not sure if it spawns again later, the match is generally over a few mins later.
For matches that last a while, yes. Somewhere between the 25:00 and 24:00 minute marks, IIRC.
Respawns are timed based on after the item is picked up, to ensure you can never pick an item up and then immediately have it return just because you got it at the right second.
Are you sure? I’ve seen the kick orb spawn 1 second after being picked up, before.
Personally, I’m already halfway done the achievement and we have two weeks to get it done. I don’t see what all the fuss is about. Interrupt their #1 skill spam. It means you take a bit of extra damage, usually, so keep an eye on health orb respawns.
Also, you have to GET the kick in the first place. And most of the time it won’t spawn even if you camp the spots.
No, it spawns on a timer all the time. The problem is that once it spawns, it’s usually picked up by a player that recently respawned or a player fighting a recent respawn. It’s in a heavy traffic area that leaves you vulnerable if you camp it. But if you want the achievement, you gotta camp it when you need it.
My strategy has been to interrupt skill #1 spam. After they throw one, use the skill. You’ll interrupt the next one and leave them locked out of all of their skills while you mow them down.
Also, EVERY skill can be interrupted (except maybe the kick itself… never had the opportunity to try). You just have to time your kicks.
It’s only 5 achievement points and 3 envelopes. It’s not that big of a deal if you don’t get it.
I’ve already got 35/100 in a little under 70 games played. I think it’s nice that there are achievements that other people can’t complete.
It’s entirely possible that the Dream is actually a construct of Mordremoth and Malyck’s lack of a Dream is caused by him not being in the presence of his Tree when he sprouted. At the same time, it’s also possible that the Dream is something concocted by the Pale Tree to protect and direct her children.
Malyck doesn’t really prove or disprove either option. The only things we can really learn from Malyck are that:
- Humanoid anatomy isn’t unique to the Pale Tree’s Sylvari,
- It’s possible for a Sylvari to never experience the Dream, and
- Sylvari are all born with English accents and decent vocabulary.
No, Caladbolg cannot be replicated because it is literally a chunk of the Pale Tree, forged into a sword by the Pale Tree herself. Unless there’s lore to support that the Pale Tree just breaks off her bark and forges it into swords all the time, there’s no reason that the same sword would exist in multiple locations.
However, in the case of Eir’s bow, it’s just regular materials. There’s no unique ingredients or specific weaponsmiths. It’s just a bow. Everything special about it is purely cosmetic.
Or there was a time in which humans assumed their continent was the entire world and didn’t decide to fix the name after they learned otherwise.
The weapon is the same weapon Eir uses, so how can there possibly be more than one?
It’s not the same weapon. Eir’s bow is in her hands.
If Eir’s bow was crafted via some legendary or unique method, then a copy wouldn’t make sense. But it’s just a bow and as such can be replicated. Caladbolg is a piece of the Pale Tree. The Pale Tree doesn’t go around handing out Caladbolgs all willy-nilly.
Care to elaborate? Do you mean that the clothes look better on humans, or that the clothes look similar to what humans have worn in real life? Or something else?
Yeah, I can’t imagine it being a priority. It would be a nice way to allow SAB to be replayable, though.
Bobby Stein is actually Verata, which is why GW2 recently referenced him.
Why you gotta necro the thread, Bobby? Y U DO DIS?!
That’s an unfair assessment. Yes, the Sylvari story is front-and-center, but that’s because its the direction the story was meant to go. The Scarlet arc led to the Mordremoth arc, and the Sylvari are a huge part of it. My expectation is that, now that the cat is out of the bag, we’ll start to see more development among the non-Sylvari races.
Personally, I want to see more and more human story since their history is the richest to us. That, or to tell us more history of the other races.
Vehicles all seem to be geared towards combat. Tyria is a land in constant conflict.
and why Tequatl got a power boost
This reason being that Tequatl was gaining power from the death of Zhaitan?
The playlist and Xiahou’s write-up were just what I needed. I feel like I saw the content, myself, now!
- Yo mama’s so fat, a Thief tried to Shadowstep behind her and got a load screen.
Though, game mechanics are technically not lore…
- Yo mama’s so dumb, she thinks the Grove is a vegan buffet.
- Yo mama’s so fat, she’s from both Ascalon and Kryta.
- Yo mama’s so fat, shes at the center of the Eternal Alchemy.
A classic case of stakeholders wanting to get the word out before all the final decisions have been made.
Death is merely a setback to the Dragon of the dead!
I feel like if that is what she’s saying, the lack of the word “Yes” makes it a bit tough to follow. But, I guess that’s not technically a bug.
During A Light in the Darkness, the Pale Tree responds to a question that we ask her very oddly. During this part of the Personal Story, the Pale Tree is allowing you to enter to Dream to learn more about Zhaitan. If you are playing a Sylvari, the question you ask her about the Dream is very specific to yourself:
Q: Is this like the time you sent Caithe into the Dream, before I awakened?
A: Remember, this is very difficult for me. Go swiftly, and learn all you can.
I find this response to be very odd. Do you think she is deflecting my question, or that ANet missed a piece of dialogue, here?
On a side note, I added this dialogue to the wiki as it wasn’t there, but I’m not sure that I formatted it correctly… If anyone could fix the formatting or confirm that it’s fine as-is, I’d appreciate it.
You’d think Magdaer would have been completed by now… Do we know who is actually reforging it?
Haven’t checked the videos in this list myself but maybe this can help you out:

That playlist looks promising. Thank you.

Those official videos were very good. Thank you! I can’t believe how much I missed. I really hope Season 1 becomes replayable, somehow.
