Earlier tonight, Mag rushed in with like 60 people in to Bay in YBBL. Unbeknownst to them we has around 3 Sup carts and 3 sup ballistas aimed at the choke. There were like 40 bodies there. Never got so much loot in under 20 seconds.
When I run into a thief alone, first thing I do is equip my Shield and sword. Sword allows for a (# 3)r anged attack, and a (# 2) teleport to enemy, which is useful to catch up to thieves. Shield skills (# 4) gives protection, really useful against backstab damage. (#5) And when the thief uses shadow refuge I use this skill to push him out of it. This + a hammer or a great sword and i never lose a 1v1 to a thief.
Rather than 2 shields, i’d like a weapon class like a halberd
Or even be able to equip spear on ground with a shield, and run around like Spartans
And yes a few of the spear skill should be throwing it at someone.
Attackers should be able to build Siege Dragons then -.-
They should be removed from WvW now. Pointless siege.
Agreed. I actually think AC’s are where they should be, but rams and golems are utterly worthless now. They should either increase their HP’s or give them a 75% reduction to siege damage or both.
Only an idiot would rush a gate with rams or golems which has multiple arrow carts being manned.
Every gate has multiple arrow carts manned (at least we do in tier 1), so we shouldn’t attack gates any more?
Try building some counter siege to clear it out a bit.
You do realize that defenders can place AC’s so that they can hit a door but cannot not be hit by ANY attacking siege. This plus the damage boost means gate attacks with rams and golems get utterly decimated.
If its a well manned keep, you cant expect to ram it down right in front of them, of course you have to siege from afar.

Volkon, I’m thinking this update was more focused on the small teams. This way, they can have 30 more seconds before a zerg might notice what they’re doing…

A small group taking 5 minutes to get a door down will have a 30 second head start.
A large group taking 2 minutes to get a door down will have a 30 second head start.

I do small group teams sometimes. No one pops one ram and starts ramming a gate. We always do quick supply runs and build 3-4 rams/catas, then start hitting it at the same time. Reinforce doors are pretty much 30% down in 30 seconds
What I want to know is how this will affect a single thief coming up to the gates to contest it?
Hardcore WVW players (not PVP) will find a way to beat it and move on
If there are more than 5-6 arrow carts on gate, it means don’t hit that gate. There are so many ways to siege a keep. This change just helps people defend against those who just beat down gates with 50 people in less than 20 seconds. Along with the 30 second contest delay, as a commander, I am excited to figure out new ways to take down keeps.
Why is the golem the only siege print that does not have priority use of the owner of the print?
Lots of idiots out there, taking golems and doing stupid stuff, ruining golem rushes, zerg fighting with golems, taking fall damage….

The problem with using a cannon and oil is not that its not useful. It is. What IS stupid is that it is impossible to use it when there are people hitting the cannon. OKAY fine, you should be allowed to hit the cannons and oils, but at least make the user of the cannon or oil not take damage from enemy atks?? As it stand you cant use it without being hit by 50 rangers 20 ele’s with staff 5. It renders wall siege absolutely useless. Until the cannon/oil is destroyed the user should not take damage.
Um no. You are confused with /squadinfo. Which is limited to squad. /supplyinfo is not. It logs everyone within a certain radius. And forgive me for trying to use a trait that apparently everyone uses.
I give up, supply info is limited to a very small radius…
“Everyone uses it” is a terrible excuse, just like when PvE items were allowed in WvW.Last I’m done talking to lying brick walls, I’ll just fraps fights next time, hard to discount truth with actual footage.

When we were holding in the tower, we had more like 30, you out numbered us. DB is just angry they coudn’t cap it and wiped in it twice. I actually want to commend you guys for the push. It was great fun. But please don’t say DB only wipes while when they are outnumbered 2:1.
During the battle with BP at South camp, we had 45-50 people, yes i counted using the same /supplyinfo. And thats how many ported to DBBL, and we capped your whole map, NNK style =[

Not at all. And there is no more culling, settings won’t affect you seeing who is there, just how detailed they look. Like I said exaggeration is akin to breathing in WvW recounts.

No it is not surprising and it makes sense, because I said “Very efficient at running away”. But yes, they move fast and are better for roaming. Since YB is behind in forum PVP points, I thought I would say it with a hint of contempt.

This thread has more NNK QQ than all the last 4 weeeks of YB/DB/SoS. Yaks have pretty much accepted the daily night cap, and we prepare for an awesome last stand with NNK/TFV in our towers/keeps.
Also, Maguuma’s roaming groups are comprised of 100% mesmers, thieves, or D/D eles. Very efficient at running away.

I know for a fact ct does not hack. They are one of the more respectable guilds on our server. More likely you forgot to sweep for a mesmer.
I get DPSing down a wooden gate. But a steel reinforced? Hell no. Player damage to an upgraded gate should be reduced. I have seen zergs of 80, failing to get in through rams and then just stand there for 15 mins wailing on the gate. Eventually even reinforced succumbs to that.
Or, make the last fortify upgrade also fortify the gate which would basically make players hit for 0s or 1s
Maybe we could have map limit of 10 commander. After 10 you can’t click “Create” on your window
Now this is not another thread saying we should remove the rallying feature. I think it adds another element to pvp combat. BUT, Is there a limit to how many players can be rallied off of one death? For example in a 30v30 battle, can 10 people rally off of one person they all tagged? If yes, this should have the same cap that all skills do of maximum 5. And if there is a cap, and I never noticed, forget I said anything =P
Has there been any changes to the despawn time of superior siege?
There was a rumor going around that sup siege would last much longer after the march patch.

True, but that would mean they are inside the tower/keep, and everything else on the map is relatively undefended. Like I said, risk vs reward. But, its just a thought
Easy fixes:
Have each Keep, Tower and Camp worth a fixed amount of Wexp, and spread it evenly across the number of players in the circle when it caps.
Have each player worth a fixed amount of Wexp, and spread it evenly across the number of players that tagged said played.
Increase defense Wexp for upgraded holdings. The more upgrades the greater the Wexp.
These simple changes would probably go a long way towards breaking up the Wexp trains (zergs) and provides incentives to upgrade property and actually hold it.
What if defending unupgraded towers gave more WXP than upgraded? It would add a nice risk vs reward element into the game
In the midst of all these threads riddled with complains of skins sucking, WEXP sucking, ranks and abilities sucking ( which they do not, IMO), I am going to take the extraordinary step to thank ANet for the most important part, the culling fix.
Thank you ANet, now we can play WvW how it was meant to be played. Ignore the forum warriors, most of us realize the culling fix took HUGE amounts of work. And to think I actually have an increase in my FPS and can actually move around in 50v50 battle. I am gonna spend my time enjoying WvW, and less on the forums.
Does anyone know the guild Reforged Vanguard [ReVa] from Dragonbrand? They exploited into our NE tower, and the SE tower. No one frapsed it, but they literally walked in. And no, one of them was not a mesmer.

I guess people in T1 and T2 forget there are 8 tiers. For some reason everyone assumes every guild wants to move up to T1. Vertigo, although I am inviting you to check out Yaks Bend. I really think you should also consider queue times, and with the culling being removed zerg/lag fests in T1 & T2 Maybe you should try your luck somewhere in T3 &T4 or below
Just a thought:
1 Alpha Golem = 1 gold = 100 badges – current price.
1 T3 Racial set = 12- 30 Gold = 1200 -3000 badges pr piece.
Full T3 Racial Set = 119 Gold = 11900 Badges.
I would rather buy 119 Golems -.-
Like many have said before, Yaks and opposing servers alike, Yaks Bend is a solid T3 server primarily because of our strong cohesion and teamwork in our NA forces. We don’t have a lot of super huge organized WvW guilds, but what we do have is an organized SERVER with a strong community. We have one of the largest Latin American alliance on our server that works great with our NA contingent. If there is a timezone we lack in, it is definitely in the Oceanic/SEA times. Our list of off peak guilds currently are Devils Den [DD], Eastern Wind [EW], and of course our aussies on The Older Gamers [TOG]. We usually have around 20-30 people in WvW during these time and it is still impossible to hold on to anything during nightcaps ( right now by Dragonbrand, who we wreck during NA =D). Yes, AOEs always cap at 5, but the pulses may switch around on the targets. So each pulse, 5 people ( at random) will get the stability buff for 1s or more with boon duration.

Well you guys had hills sieged up to the teeth, i commend you for that. After countless hours of beating against the gate and dying to trebs, we resorted to 2 Omegas
Am I the only one noticing that CD’s Asian crew seems to be missing? I wake up in the morning to see YB still ahead in point ticks and and all our keeps Waypointed. Normally they would all be blue.
Just want to share a tip to all fellow guardians. If you know this already, good for you.
When thieves do the shadow refuge skill, you can knock them out of it, negating the 10s stealth they would have, by using number 5 on the shield.
Just like the weapon swap, allows you to switch your utilities ( 7,8,9 and 0) with one button or a click to another set of 3 utilities + elite
Obviously, this cannot be done in combat, BUT also cannot be done, if any of the skills are in a cool down.

Anyone else think even fully upgraded camps are kitten easy for a 3-4 man party or 1 ranger/thief. This is ridiculous IMO. I think the last upgrade strengthen guards should change the Veteran Supervisor into a Champion. This will not do anything but slow down 10 man teams, but it will hopefully make it difficult for 3-4 man team to cap or at the very least provide a longer time buffer for the team to react
Any thoughts on this?
I just had an amazing duel with a D/D ele in YBBL on the side cliff of west EH. Whoever that was you have my respect man.
If you are looking for a server with fighting spirit, that’s us! Yak’s Bend has definitely had more coverage issues than FA or TC, but has not dampened our motivation to fight and defend every bit of land we own (FA/TC can attest to this =P ) Also we have a great community website and a server Mumble.

Alpha seige golems are the regular ones. Omega golems are the upgraded ones
The FA team that was attacking YB Borderland (Askallion Hills) . Bravo guys. I have never been in a longer and persistent siege than this one. I was the only commander on the map and we were down to 0 for a while, and those trebs in the back really saved our keep. You guys lost a LOT of prints. But, in the end thanks for making my day interesting. And please come again!
Had some amazing fights in EBG for the past couple of hours. As a commander from Yaks, I just want to commend DH and CD for not letting up an inch. This is probably the longest we ever held SM with like 5 holes in the outer wall. But it hasn’t been easy! Keep on fighting everyone!
Lost about 22-23g when the log in issues occurred around 10 PM server time. Since I was on TP placing orders, and I did click “place order” several times because the “success” sign didn’t show, the gold is probably somewhere there. Hopefully I’ll get it back, but if it did somehow disappear, just letting the devs know my problem.
