Really? I don’t see why you are bothered by a couple lines of text overlaying a loading screen. This has no negative effect on the game whatsoever. If it bothers you that much you can simply [Alt + Tab] or [Ctrl + Shift + H] until your map has finished loading.

People will find anything to complain about these days……

Event Maps - AFK Rewards

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Kross.6428

When considering solutions, let’s not forget that tying loot to event completion rather than to mob kills was to discourage the sort of behavior where people prolong events (sometimes indefinitely) to produce more mobs. Given that, I’d say that it might be better to up the ratio of participation to loot. Let’s say max loot from an event is 4 loot bags. Players who participate beyond a certain threshold in the first 25% of the event get 1 bag, then a 2nd if they participate in the second 25%, etc.

Well, at least in the case of Silverwastes, the events conclude when either the fortress falls or until the timer expires. There is no prolonging or exploit to run here. If loot was tied to killing monsters, then players that actively participate win whereas players that stand around lose.

Proportional loot based on how much the player is active during the event is another interesting suggestion. Of course, there is always the issue of DPS output, so I think some sort of solution that takes actual participation into account is needed.

I tried afking during event in event area and I got no rewards so these ppl actually have to kill atlast 1 mob to get rewards for event so i see no problem here

No problem. . . ?

So if you and I were co-workers, and I decided that I would do 10% of the work and leave the other 90% to you, I should still deserve the same paycheck as you? How would you feel about that?
(Extreme example, I know, but I’m trying to make a point here.)

Killing just one mob and then doing nothing else is rude. Other players are working hard to get the exact same reward, and in the case of “R” and “K” from my original post, they knew full well that they were leeching off of the efforts of other players and getting unfairly rewarded for it.

Event Maps - AFK Rewards

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Kross.6428

I never really considered the notion that poor monster drops as being the cause of this. But it makes sense…

Rather than approach this issue with a “punish the worthless players” mentality, it is better to explore solutions along the lines of “encourage them to participate by re-allocating where the rewards come from” so that they are more likely to actually earn their share.

I think that changing the loot system on these types of maps would be the better answer at this point. It is win-win.

One possibility would be to have the event areas updated and make sure there are no “safe” areas. For example in SW maybe have the Mordrem periodically launch some widely spread AoE attacks that are easily dodgeable, but would wipe out the AFK folks. Kind souls may still rezz them, so we’d need to discuss other ideas such as the one in this thread: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/All-armor-broken-unrevivable/

Although this is a more of a “punish them” solution, I do admit I wish a giant vine would come and wipe out all the stupid people AFK-ing on the cliff…

Event Maps - AFK Rewards

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kross.6428

Kross.6428

It is an old problem that has been plaguing the PvE environment for a long time. With the introduction of event maps, such as Dry Top and Silverwastes, some players have purposely stopped playing the game and instead sit around reaping the rewards of other player’s hard work. If the upcoming expansion is going to include more event maps, then obviously these useless players are going to continue their cheap tactics from DT and SW in order to receive free loot.

For example, I was in SW and there were a pair of players named “R” and “K” camping around in Amber Sandfall. They did not move over a long period of time, and never contributed to the fight at all (and possibly up-scaled the enemies). They just stood on the little cliff the entire time. Once Breach was activated, they jumped down the hole, tagged the boss, and immediately left to go AFK outside the hole again. After the event had finished, “K” was bragging about the merits of being AFK and how they had been rewarded for doing absolutely nothing.

Is this the sort of behavior that is seriously being encouraged? Claiming rewards for not actually playing the game? And not just those two. I see this all the time on these event maps. Sometimes groups of people or even guilds do this sort of stuff.

My question is: What is a good solution to this?
I would suggest my own crazy idea for reporting and penalizing AFK players, however, every plan has a “trolls will abuse this” or “there is a loophole” counter-argument and I am certain my suggestion would be no exception.

I would like to see something done about AFK players purposely abusing the game like this, especially if more event maps are going to be put into the game. Whether it is a foolproof report function that cannot be abused by trolls, some sort of de-buff like “Dishonorable” from PvP mode, or improved AFK detection/timers… anything to discourage this kind of behavior!!

/end rant

If you despise AFK-ers receiving rewards, what are your thoughts on this matter?
If you are an AFK-er, how do you justify being a useless lump?

Unlike the other pieces of that set, that reward is RNG. The only source for it is the large chest after defeating Vinewrath.

It took me more than 50 tries to find my second one and almost as long for my third, whilst the friends I was playing with were finding them every 2-3 runs. Unfortunately, it all comes down to luck of the draw…

Change Breathers Into Skins, Not Gear

+1 to that. Aquatic breathers are obsolete, and I think that this is rather a strange upgrade to spend resources on. I’d prefer it if my breathers just copy the stats of my helm instead.

The game has previously made a huge shift away from underwater combat with the removal of Raid on the Capricorn in PvP, and the large lakes in the WvW Borderlands. Black Lion Weapon skins don’t support any of the three underwater weapons. Also, seeing as we’re moving on further inland with HoT, I doubt there will be much underwater combat aside from random ponds or secret tunnels.

Ascended breathers are absolutely pointless at this moment.

What is the point of buying Gem store skins if you can’t show it off?

Off that question alone, if it ever was implemented then expect a huge plummet in gem store sales via cash, which we all know, Anet would most likely never allow to happen as they are a business and want to generate revenue.

Players have the option to turn off skins and outfits via the “simple character model” option in the graphics menu. Also, minis are automatically hidden on maps with a high population. Yet, they’re still pumping out new gemstore outfits and minis no problemo… so, I really don’t see any impact on revenue from something like this because it already exists in the game to a certain level…

I buy gemstore armor for my own enjoyment. I couldn’t care less if other players ogle me, or ignore me.

Kross.6428

Oh look another one of these threads…listen mate some people pay to show off to other people…making this option you may as well refund everyone who paid real money for these…You suggesting this is like me suggesting to hide legendary skins because they are too flashy and as you put less “clutter”.

And wanting the choice to hide stuff is bad how. . . . . ?

If Johnny Gemstore thinks his angel wings and super banana mini are amazing, then that’s great for him. They clutter my screen and I would prefer to not look at them. Is he going to know that I am hiding his backpack/minis? No.

So I really don’t get the whole reasoning behind this logic. People who demand refunds because others aren’t noticing their trophies need to get over themselves.

(Don’t get me wrong, this issue is not a real problem for me. I’m merely stating my support for the option to exist. If this function is implemented, great! If it isn’t, then whatever. On that note, I don’t see why people feel the need to oppose this request so harshly.)

I agree with OP. A function like a toggle for backpacks and minis would be nice. It gives players the option to reduce visual clutter, and for people on lower end machines a chance to reduce potential performance issues on populated maps.

Personally, I like to display my minis, but when there are dozens upon dozens of minis running around everywhere, I do find it to be rather cluttered, and to some small degree it ruins the immersion. I really only care for my own minis, so I have no need to see the ones that other players have.

As for backpacks, same thing. Some players find backpacks annoying in their own ways. For me it is the angel wings. While everyone and their entire guild seems to be obsessed with the high-in-demand angel wings, I find them ugly and distracting. If I could turn them off, then it would greatly reduce the amount of unnecessary flappage and feathers that I see everywhere I go. Additionally, I am sure something like this would benefit the players that absolutely despise my Job-O-Tron backpack.

Just my two coppers.

Toxicity only uses 3-6 letter names that are not accented.

Perhaps Toxicity should be less picky and try a 7 letter name..?

You won’t be saying that in 5 years when even FULLY accented names are gone and a higher percentage of the “inactives” are “dead irl”.

Many new players will see name creation takes 6+ hours and not even bother to play – possibly even demand refunds.

It isn’t that hard to come up with a name. Seriously. The only people what have trouble finding names are the people ripping names from other things such as tv-shows and books. Or are using extremely common words or proper names when making their character.

I can see it now…
Harry Potter, taken.
Eddard Stark, taken.
Spongebob Squarepants, taken.
Ugh, I can’t find a name! I want a refund! Waaah!

Everyone in my skype room agrees with me.

Something like this would be very nice in some instances, and save some players from unnecessary headaches. RNG can be a real kitten sometimes.

For example, back when Vinewrath was put into the game, some friends/guildies and I farmed that event for weeks. However, over the course of dozens of successful VW runs, my friends had piles of Carapace Coats, whereas I had yet to find even one (aside from the one guaranteed reward you receive upon first completion). It was a very frustrating time for me… I had done the exact same amount of work as they did, but I was not getting rewarded for it. They even said they would have given me their spares had the jackets not been Account Bound.

(I got mine a couple weeks later, but for a seemingly common item, I was getting the short end of the RNG-stick.)

They are accountable IF their actions are breaking the rules. Presently they are not breaking any known rules.

You seem to be the one missing the point here.

By not fixing it, Anet is allowing it to continue, by not making any statements Anet is allowing it to continue. Do I need to link the definition of Allow ? Players currently are not in the wrong, because currently they are breaking no known rules. This is a moral issue more than anything.

But if you want to get down to the nitty gritty of it, stop demanding for player’s to be banned and start demanding that Anet does their kitten job and fix it. Hows that for common sense, hopefully that can sink in.

Oohhh, pardon me. I finally see what you’re getting at! Since this is 100% ANet’s fault, I should totally take advantage of this unfair advantage and go do some roaming! I should not be held accountable for ruining the game for other players, and it is my right to get away scot-free with no repercussions. Sure, I have the choice to not be a cheater, but I’m going to be a kittening kitten and do it anyways!

Thank you so much for clarifying that.

Just because the banker accidentally forgot to close the vault doesn’t mean you should be allowed to steal the money.

However, I understand where you’re coming from. This problem is on both the devs and the players that took advantage of this exploit.

Not even remotely close to the same thing.

If Anet truly felt it was a bug that people shouldn’t be using all they had to do was post something about it at any point within the last 5 days. Or hey here’s an idea, do a quick fix patch.

Seeing as how they have done neither I think it’s safe to say they don’t feel it’s a bug. How is one to honestly know how Anet feels about this and whether or not it is intended ? I could make arguments all day, whether you agree with them or not is irrelevant until it is confirmed that it’s a bug and they are just to lazy or ashamed to acknowledge/fix it.

I was making an example… and you missed my point entirely. Just because there is an opportunity to take advantage of something, doesn’t mean it is the right thing to do. Sure, ANet dropped the ball here, but players are also accountable for their own actions. It is 50/50.

If you want the unfortunate lack of communication to be the reason why you feel it is justifiable for you to exploit this bug, then fine. Whatever helps you sleep at night.

WvW golem rush exploiting

Keep in mind lots of hackers on sbi and in general WvW go around unpunished. Your own server is populated by a significant number of hackers and I don’t see you advocating them being banned.
Notable common occurrences, SBI player has speed hacks, SBI player kills you w/o leaving damage in your damage log greater than 50% of your hp, SBI warrior ( still roams on sbi) uses elementalist skills and these are all pulled from the same day.

I don’t care about servers right now. This discussion is about willingly abusing the game and its players. I have reported my fair share of SBI players too. I don’t want to align myself with cheaters. They’re scum and deserve to be banned like the rest of them.

So instead of personally attacking my server for no reason whatsoever, how about we focus on the hackers/exploiters? I like the sound of that a lot more.

Backstory: Two weeks ago, my main character became bugged after completing “Forging the Pact” and I essentially skipped every mission in Orr. I was immediately sent to the final dungeon despite not making any progress in the story, and missed out on more than 80% of the last two chapters. I am now stuck at “Victory or Death”. I have read the devs notes carefully, and this is not how things should have unfolded…

In the past 2 weeks, I have:

  • Posted detailed information on the bug forums.
  • Sent in-game bug reports.
  • Submitted two support tickets, one week apart, and received only a generic automated message from the second one. The first one was apparently ignored.

I realize that bugs take a lot of time to detect and correct. I can wait for the fix. But after not receiving any word on the issue other than that unhelpful automated message, my support ticket was closed even though my character is still bugged. My report was simply brushed aside and locked. It wouldn’t even let me rate the service provided despite the fact they sent an extra special email asking “how do you rate the support you received”? What was the point of that email if you aren’t even going to accept my feedback?

I’m already annoyed that my main character is bugged and I cannot play the story… and this lack of communication is rather appalling. However, I am not going to make idle threats, because there is no point in being a kitten about this.

All I ask for is a genuine acknowledgement that my issue/feedback is being taken seriously, and if possible a solution to fix my bugged character. At the very least, is it possible to reset the Personal Story?

Inspired Character Names!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Kross.6428

I try to keep all of my characters named appropriately to fit the lore of Tyria as best I can, so I don’t have a particular pattern to my naming scheme. These are just some of my many characters…

Leonard Kross (Human, Guardian)
Leonard is my middle name, and Kross was the surname of my necromancer from Guild Wars 1, which I had chosen at the time since it had a cryptic sound to it. This time around I figured it suited a Guardian better. Also, hence why it is my account name.

Yukie Utsumi (Human, Ranger)
She is named after a character from the “Battle Royale” novel/movie. For those of you familiar with the story, she is the charismatic leader of the lighthouse girls. Her pets are named after other characters from the book.

Gatlan Blastburn (Charr, Engineer)
Seeing as he is an engineer, I looked up the names of firearms, and came across the “Gatling gun”. I changed it slightly, but the essence of the word is still there.

Lily Nocturne and Tiarnan Sonata (Sylvari, Mesmer & Thief)
I decided to give my Sylvari makeshift code-names in place of surnames. Corresponding with their cycles of the day, I chose Nocturne and Sonata to represent them. I was planning on making two more Sylvari with symphonic names, and then I was going to create a private guild just for them and call it “Quartet”, but that idea never really came into fruition.

Personal story is not working properly for me on two characters. The first issue is part of my Story Journal has been deleted on one character that had completed the entire story and final dungeon. The second involves missing huge chunks of the personal story that should have been available despite the changes. According to the dev’s post, I should not have any issues with continuing the story from “Forging the Pact”, yet I have run into a massive problem that involves skipping more than 80% of Chapter 7 and Chapter 8.

More precise info included within my bug report:

Kross.6428

Thanks for the reply. I was already aware of that post and the changes they intended to make. However, my problem is much bigger than that.

If your character has not completed “Forging the Pact,” you should not encounter any issues. While you will not be able to replay previous story steps to see some of the minor improvements that were made, you will be able to play the “My Greatest Fear” story content (based on the choice you made at the end of “A Light in the Darkness”) and also experience the restored chapter 8 story steps.

Well, I have encountered some issues. Many issues. So many issues, I am appalled at the number of issues I have encountered. I started from Forging the Pact, and as the dev stated, everything should be smooth sailing from there. Unfortunately, this is not what happened at all. I am missing a lot more than what was cut or adjusted in the story. I am missing more than 80% of Chapter 7 and Chapter 8!!

Here is a list of the missions I completed (bolded) and missions that don’t seem to exist anymore (struck).

Forging the Pact
Greatest Fear Arc: Letting an Innocent Die
Tower Down
Munition Acquisition / To the Core
Breaking the Bone Ship
The Battle of Fort Trinity
A Sad Duty
Temple of the Forgotten God
Eye of Zhaitan (Close the Eye / Through the Looking Glass)
What the Eye Beholds
Mouth of Zhaitan (Starving the Beast / Estate of Decay)
Ossuary of Unquiet Dead / A Grisly Shipment
Further Into Orr
Vigil’s Plan
Marching Orders
Armor Guard
The Steel Tide
Against the Corruption
Cathedral of Silence / Romke’s Final Voyage
The Source of Orr
Victory or Death

I’d say there are some pretty big issues here, and that things are most certainly not working as planned. The thought that my story is now permanently screwed up on my characters is rather disappointing. I don’t want to restart my character because I created them over 2 years ago… so, what now?

Personal Story - Skipped every mission in Orr

in Bugs: Game, Forum, Website

Kross.6428

Character 1:

  • Completed the story in entirety before the Personal Story was reorganized a while back.
  • New patch hits, Story Journal is suddenly missing the latter part of Chapter 8.

Character 2:

  • Finished the story up until the end of Chapter 6. I completed all the way up to “Forging the Pact”, but I stopped progressing her because the PS was changed.
  • Latest patch hits including the re-re-done story model. Continue playing the story.
  • Skip the entire “greatest fear arc” and go immediately to the mission “Battle of Fort Trinity”.
  • After the battle, she skips all the way to “The Source of Orr”.
  • Go through that mission because I have no clue what order everything is supposed to be in anymore and then…
  • You must kill Zhaitan! Gain access to final dungeon story.
  • Story Journal says that I am still on Chapter 7.

Character 1 had part of his progress erased from the journal, and Character 2 skipped over a huge chunk of the story (literally everything to do with Orr) and was told to kill Zhaitan after doing practically nothing…….

Sooooo… what just happened?! What can be done to fix this error? Is this permanent, or is it possible to get a reset?

Supplementary images below are the current Story Journals for both characters.

Consider bringing the old trait system back

Another veteran (2 months after launch) player pitching in and saying this patch pretty much has killed my interest in the game. I take it this is the direction of the mentality behind the expansion too, so I’m not getting that either.

Really disappointed you just roll out something like this without letting the community pitch in. I’m sure you’ll get enough new players from the marketing campaigns to make good bank though. A disappointed player isn’t too much to worry about in that sense.

I have no strong feelings one way or another. I enjoyed aspects of the old system, and I enjoy aspects of this one. My feelings aren’t really important, though.

The simple fact of the matter is, they put a LOT of effort into this, and the entire design of the game going forward is based on this system, therefore there is absolutely no way they can go back, let alone would.

If that is true, there is absolutely no way I’m going to pay for or play the expansion.

I’m sorry that you feel this way.

However, they created this new patch using ideas from the months and months of complaints that culminated into thousands of replies on a single thread after the AFP-traits were rolled out. Thus, saying that they didn’t consult the players is simply unfair and untrue. All that happened was they took the game in a direction that you disagree with. Plain and simple.

It is a big game, and there is lots to do, so hopefully you can find at least one thing to appreciate if you continue playing. If not, then I hope the next game you find will be more suited to your tastes. Keep in mind, that game might change too.

Out of curiosity, of those people who like the new system, how many played from launch? I ask because a lot of the “I love it” posts appear to be people who fell victim to the horrible trait acquisition changes made (relatively) recently.

I’ve been around since launch (of GW1 and GW2), so I’ve experienced all the changes that have been made throughout the game. And yes, I like the most recent changes because I thought that the AFP was a godawful downgrade to how traits were unlocked. The unlocking part is much better now, and although the build diversification has been reduced, I personally don’t mind because it just means that I need to experiment and develop a new way to play my characters.

Everyone who “Loves” the new system is someone who already plays a op-meta build.

<snip>

In one patch, anet removed ALL of the builds that ALL of my characters used, by removing traits, merging them into random other trees, or outright just buffing the meta builds into making it utterly pointless to run anything else. Its stupid, and I hate THAT.

Aside from that, I love everything else in the game they added. Im just kittened I cant play any of this amazing new content because I have no built character to experience it on. I refuse to just go look up a meta and play what the internet tells me I have to play. That goes against EVERYTHING gw2 stands for.

I like the new changes, and I don’t use OP-meta builds when I play. And like you, I have never once visited those build database websites or taken build advice from anyone, because I don’t feel the need to play like other people. I make up my own builds whether they turn out to be effective or not. It’s part of the fun of experimenting with different combinations of skills/traits!

And while build diversity has been greatly reduced, I think that you’re overreacting. The game is still playable. You simply need to devise a new build. It doesn’t have to be meta, as long as you like how it works. It’ll take some time to mull things over, but you never know when you might discover a new build that totally suits your own play style!

I prefer the newer system. It isn’t perfect for everybody, but I think that it is waaay better than what we had before. I absolutely hated, loathed, and despised the previous trait system. I always thought of it as a massive downgrade ever since the AFP update.

I have been waiting for this change since last year! I can finally play my alts again!

Devs current stance on GW2 consoles?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

The first thing that I think of that would cause a lot of problems is the number of controls that are involved in this game. Most controllers have no more than a dozen buttons, and two joysticks. While movement, strafing, and camera can be attached to the joysticks, attacks alone take up 10 buttons. Add in hotkeys for basic actions, dodging, looting, targeting allies/enemies, the various menus, etcetera… and you are drowning in functions that need to be programmed into a controller with limited space. Each hotkey servers a precise function in the game, and I’m not sure how a small controller could accommodate so many different commands.

Also, how would chat work? Would you have to plug a keyboard into the console? (I’m not talking about headsets. Most players don’t use those.)

I am not console-savvy, so I am genuinely curious as to how console gamers would be able to play this game effectively if a port were to theoretically be created… and would these players be at a disadvantage because of this? As already mentioned, PC-to-console is a heckovalot more complicated than console-to-PC.

This Community is the worst.

I’m sorry that you have had an unpleasant experience with other players in the game. It can happen anywhere. In game. In real life. It is just the reality that you have to deal with. Try not to let it get to you. Be the mature person in the situation, and you will come out feeling a lot better about it. Sometimes just ignoring the trolls is the best way to go about things. They can’t touch you. So don’t let them.

That being said, I think it is unfair to label everyone in this game as “unfriendly” due to the actions of a rude minority. I have had my fair share of unpleasant experiences, but in general, I find this community to be just as friendly (and rude) as any other gaming community I have been a part of.

All Flame Legion are Charr. Not all Charr are Flame Legion.

It is not just the Tribal set. There are roughly 9 sets of armor that were either partially or entirely removed from the game in April 2014. See: Unobtainable Armor Sets

The devs have mentioned the missing armor sets will be put back into the game at some point. However, they also stated that there is no ETA for when it will happen. It could be next month. It could be next year.

Volunteer = Loser?

in PvP

Posted by: Kross.6428

Kross.6428

So, I did some testing and it isn’t as bad as I originally thought… but one thing has indeed changed since the last time I participated in PvP.

A match I just played 10 minutes ago:

  • Join Skyhammer match when timer is counting down (score is 0:0).
  • My team is winning [350 : 0] and the entire opposing team rage-quits.
  • At this point I have the highest score on my team, with kills and objective captures.
  • I volunteer as tribute!” Successfully switch over.
  • Eventually lose the match on the new side despite my best efforts.
  • Receive Volunteer bonus, as well as Top Player bonuses for Obj. Neutralizer, Obj. Defender, and Revives. Also receive 437 points for winning the match.
  • Receive daily reward for Elementalist Victory.
  • Personal scoreboard shows that I have +1 on games played, but +0 on games won. Same with +1 Elementalist battles, +0 Elementalist wins.

As I said, it isn’t as bad as I had initially observed. I still got compensated for volunteering, and the game even said that I had “won”. But, the last two points are still a spot of bother for me. If I had an “Elementalist Victory” daily complete for me, why does it still show as a loss on my record? It wasn’t like that before.

Is this perhaps a bug? Or a deliberate change? That’s all I really want to know.

Volunteer = Loser?

in PvP

It’s because you need to score points of some kind before switching for it to count.

But that’s the thing… I could be the first or second highest scorer on my team, and when I volunteer to join the other side it shows as a “loss” when I look it up on my scoreboard. It wasn’t like that before.

The volunteering didn’t change, it still give you the victory bonus I can confirm. What seems not to be happening anymore is to obtain the victory bonus when unwillingly being switched to the other team (which happens to me about 90% of the times whether I am the #1 scorer of my team, the laast one of in the middle), which makes me feel forced to volunteer whenever the “volunteer” button appears. Basically, either willingly choose to leave the winning team to let a “fair autobalance-forcer” from the losing team join the winning team (steal my spot) or be switched anyway but with a penalisation. Lovely.

You’re right. The reason why I like to volunteer, is for that exact same reason. If I can earn bonus points and still achieve my much-deserved win, then fine, I don’t mind volunteering… but it doesn’t work exactly the same way as I remember it used to.

Volunteer = Loser?

Kross.6428

I haven’t played PvP in a while, but I just got back into the swing of things over the past week. I remember from a looong time ago, volunteering to switch over to the losing side would result in a victory regardless of the outcome of the match. The past couple of games I have volunteered to switch in, has led to a meager reward, and negatively impacted my win-lose ratio.

I know it is silly to worry over such things, and I realize that I should just have fun… but I remembered there was more incentive to volunteering before and I am wondering where it went.

Why did this change occur? And what incentives is there to volunteering to lose?

Edit: For anyone that may be interested, I have written an example of what I am talking about on the 5th post.

How to show new players that I'm a veteran?

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kross.6428

Kross.6428

A true veteran wouldn’t need to ask this question… on the assumption you’re actually a new player with a dusty account, I’ll give you some pointers:

  • Achievement Points – Story completion, PvE, crafting, and frequent completion of the dailies will net you some points for your account.
  • Map Complete – Achieve 100% map complete on a character and a golden star will appear next to their name. While not worth a lot, it will at least show that you’ve actually put some time into playing the game.
  • Titles – “Been There, Done That” or “Dungeon Master” or “The Sunbringer” are some titles that you can display on your nameplate to show-off your devotion. Titles that require skill are the best for this. You also get a title for every 5000AP you receive.
  • Rare Armor Sets – Dungeon armor, Carapace armor, or even an Ascended Backpack will be a good start. If you’re more into the PvP side of things, Glorious armor is the way to go. These will show you have worked hard to claim your rewards. Cash Shop armor only shows how much money you’ve spent; those don’t count for anything.
  • MOST IMPORTANT OF ALL: Good Attitude – A heroic veteran helps new players, and leads their teammates to victory. A patient and helpful attitude can go a long way. Even in the face of verbal abuse, a mature player does not lower himself to the level of his attackers, and instead deals with the issue in a calm manner. Once you’re more well-versed with the game, perhaps you can try being the leader/officer within a guild, or even a commander on WvW? It is a tough role to take on, and will probably lead to people arguing with you on occasion, but if you are truly good at this game, it is a position that players will respect and maybe even compliment you on.

If that’s the case, they should just remove it completely. I find it frustrating that it is forever contested and that I cannot use it… but it is still there. If they are never going to fix the kitten thing, why bother leaving the stupid icon on the map?

It makes no sense whatsoever…

Increase siege damage against players

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Kross.6428

Kross.6428

If I understand whatever you typed correctly… you want siege damage increased because you don’t like zergs and swiftness boosts..?

I think increasing siege damage will do little to fix that, and instead create more problems. If siege damage is increased, then people will camp their arrowcarts/catapults in order to farm bags, and walls will crumble faster against rams/trebs. It will create issues along the lines of heavy reliance on siege weapon warfare and further outweigh the value of infantry.

I think it would be awesome if the 4th slot could change the glow color, because I find some colors clash with the orange. Adding an option to that unused slot would open up more possibilities to really rock that outfit.

I’m pretty sure Balthazar would approve of this too!
