Any time soon, no. But I don’t see why they would not, the amount of money it could generate is irresistible. Just reset story mode.
I’m a believer that money solves these problems. If Anet feels there is money to be made here then its worth pursuing. If people continue to make posts about it over and over it has to be something that they discuss.
I’ve signed up for your event, Wukunlin & I assume it’s 4PM PST.
yup
it should be the daily reset time on saturday (US time) or sunday (oceanic time). Sometimes my sense of time is completely out of the window trying to keep up with all the timezones…
I signed up too not even realizing this! I’ve run path 1 before, its fun and not as long as you might guess.
Chef, great job on the site. If it gains traction, perhaps we could expand it to other dungeons as well. I wouldn’t mind running other dungeons with people from LFG
Everything is possible.
@Kumakichi,
Somehow we need to broadcast the new website & its event scheduling to members who rarely show up here.
-SkyChef do you mean you would like this info placed into the guild MOD?
Very cool…. thanks SkyChef!

Any advice on avoiding AOE poison that has no red circles, or is invisible? Sometimes he goes under the ground and all the sudden I get hit by poison that is invisible.
Not sure I follow but Lup does toss out single poison jars during phase 2 sometimes in rapid succession. There isn’t a red circle on the ground but you can see it coming towards you. Dodging it is just a timing thing.
Lupicus. Sometimes he just seems out to get you.
Good ideas. I like the suggestions. If you want to try the website SkyChef I’d say go for it but just dont burden yourself with too much is all. Maybe we could explore the GW2LFG option first?
This GW2LFG suggestion is interesting. I like the idea its worth a try. If someone can think of a format for posting it might help if we all sort of used a similar post.
I’ll edit the first post accordingly.
p.s. That looks good SkyChef. I might suggest maybe adding “melee’ing Lup” or “LF1M guild newcomer welcome” Just sort of brainstorming if you have something unique going on.
(edited by Kumakichi.2583)
How about offering race change as something that can be bought from the gemstore
Lupicus is challenging especially when you first start to do him. But with practice there will be times you can avoid his blanket aoe without even having to dodge. There are probably skills you can use from your profession that will help as well. Keep learning the event and you’ll come to appreciate what the coolest boss in the game is about. He definitely doesn’t need nerfed.
Arah is the easiest after all the nerfs , too many “casual” players complaining about lupicus and simin strenght . So nerfed down that i don’t wear my DM title anymore , got no point !
Lup was never nerfed but he is a bit twitchy post patch and doing some weird things. Simin yes big nerf but it wasn’t that he was a difficult boss it was more that people took bad groups with weak dps i.e. condition dmg spec’s and people not wearing zerker gear on a boss that they really needed to.
I’d put a guardian ahead of mesmer as a “needed” part of a dungeon group. Usually the 1 guardian, 3 warrior, 1 mesmer is brought up when talking about the ideal group for dungeons. So if your totally against playing a warrior then I’d recommend going guardian. You really can’t go wrong there. I play a mesmer and its a big benefit to a group as well. So I guess the question might be “do you want to tank or do you want to range?” A guardian can range or dps but to me thats not what its best at. Both professions are flexible.
Please consider making the pants full length like on other races. On a charr it looks like some sudo mini-skirt or AC/DC short pants kind of thing. On a hot day the breeze is nice but other than that it comes up short. On other races its a full length robe look and it looks awesome.
I’ve run Arah with many in the guild so far. I keep trying to group with everybody to get acquainted. But in the end there are a few that I just prefer to group with because they are good people and its always an enjoyable run. I’m not picky but I’m not a speed runner and elistist pretty much turn me off so I tend to not group with them again if I can help it.
The time zone difference is an obstacle. Its just a suggestion but dont give up on whispering people. Imho with around 90 people in the guild your bound to hit it off with 3 or 4 people at least. Also its good to be pro-active. If your waiting for an invite it might not come. And when in a group remember people are evaluating how fun it is to group with you.
Now that its the weekend finally! I think it should make it easier to get more runs in including other paths. Or at least thats what I hope for
Ok your west coast too. You’ll like grouping with Skychef.
I know how you feel when whispering 15-20 people and barely getting responces. But hang in there. I think you’ll find a good 3 or 4 people who you enjoy grouping with and end up doing regular runs with them. Maybe we can group up on weekends and get some of the others paths run.
Any members here in the guild who want to run path 3 daily (or even twice) or path 2 daily? Even at peak hours with 40+ members on, hardly anyone is changing their icon status to lfg. I still have to resort to PUGs to do my daily runs.
I’m usually avaiable nights PST, sometimes during early afternoon as well.
Sorry Yasha. Ive msg’d you 2 or 3 times for runs but your afk. Just bad timing. I’ll generally send out half a dozen msg’s to different people and get 1 or 2 replies. Seems like people just want to run arahs on the fly and put groups together at the last second. Ive tried to msg people 20-60 minutes in advance. I kind of like running them around 7:30pm EST after a reset. But it takes awhile to learn other peoples schedules.
If your a warrior and like CoF1 then in a few hours you should have enough to buy all the armor and maybe a weapon depending on whats up. Are you sure you want all PVT ?
Yup had it happen in one of my early runs
Ive grouped with good thieves in Arah and Fractals and have enjoyed having them in groups. Im not sure why but most random pug thieves Ive grouped with are more concerned with playing for themselves rather than using skills to help the group. And when they are like that there is very little value in taking one in a group. This isnt to single out thieves because the same can be said of other professions. And they are probably asking “why not take my <insert profession here>” in a group?
Ive run a ton of dungeons and in all that time Ive found that Rangers dont bring much to a group. I try not to discriminate and be open minded about it. But a poorly played warrior is just better than most other options. And melee dps is better than ranged dps. Its just the way Anet has balanced the game. Its been this way since release but maybe they rework things someday. Its anybodies guess.
Not sure what you mean by short. Ive been in pugs that ran AC and TA paths in 30 minutes or less. Seems like a guild should be able to do close to that. SE path 3 is super quick. Dungeons lasting 30-60 is good with me. Dont get that feeling your chained to a dungeon but make it worth 5 people to group up and have some fun.
Arah path 1 end boss is similar. Although its so easy for everybody to hold the crystals for reflection. But guardians and mesmers can reflect as well for hits around 100k. However unprotected he would 1 shot people.
To OP, you’ve described why groups prefer to skip trash. Too much hp and no reward.
I’ve had groups that took 2hrs to clear a path vs groups that took 30 to clear the same path. I’m a big believer in enjoying dungeon grouping rather than speed running. But clearing trash isnt enjoyable in GW2.
I’d just like to thank Kumakichi and the other vets for organizing this. This weekend I passed my first stack of arah tokens and have run path 1 and 3 successfully so far on my warrior and ele. I’m still not fully pro but if you see me online and not in a dungeon I’ll most likely join, I try to have my LFG tag up but will only rep while in the dungeon itself.
Thanks! and congratz. Obal does the lionshare of the work. He does a lot of the inviting and ranking. He makes big efforts to make sure people get a chance to make there first run in Arah and makes it look easy. I chip in where I can. The way this has taken off has really been a big surprise. And so many are happy to help out the people new to arah.
Please send Invite – thanks
We sent you an invite shortly after your original post but you havent accepted.
I am considering setting up a run for path 1 and 4, anyone interested? Will most likely be available this weekend, oceanic timezone
Id be up for path 1. But if you force me to do path 4 then Id have to try for dungeon master and open huge can of worms.
Ive been wanting to run paths 1 and 2 on weekends but have been waiting to see how runs went. They arent much harder or longer than path 3 with the right group. And get a chance to run more of Arah.
The cliff thing and the lamp post seem to work some of the times. The poison cloud was nice touch. Make things more interesting.
You can see parts of the circles. Depending on your lvl of fractal yes its normal. Stability and reflections go a long ways on them.
Seemed like fractals 1-5 felt about the same difficulty. It gets a little harder but its still easily done. I’d look for groups in that range and dont limit yourself to doing fotm 1 only. Its funny but I do fractals in the upper teens and we still get people who have no idea what they are doing. Its like the bought there character off fleabay or something.
Some more invites have gone out so check your guild tabs.
Some more invites sent. If you haven’t gotten one let us know. As mentioned you dont need experience to join in.
(edited by Kumakichi.2583)
Sent out some invites. Some of you were max’d out on guilds already so we couldn’t invite. I’m not sure about the best way to build your groups. You might have a good idea about rep’ing at dungeon reset time. But until we get familiar with everybody I think we are going to have to whisper some too.
p.s. edited the original post so reflect that people new to Arah are welcome and that others are willing to help you get into Arah.

Requirements for joining:
-Your characters are on a NA server
-Be experienced at a path or paths in Arah (be experienced at Lupicus)
-Have full exotic gear
-Have a ranged weapon on you (warrior- rifle, guardian – scepter + focus or sheild, theif – bow)
-Have a good attitude and respect others.
-Don’t be pushy or elitistI simply can’t resist from saying that but no one can meet those criteria. Good luck though.
LoL… I see what you did there
*something like this.
Mott the Hoople
Profession: Mesmer
Traited: DPS/Phantasm/Reflection build
Experience: Paths 1, 2 and 3
Time: On most week nites and try to run a daily, usually path 3 usually just as the dungeons are resetting. On weekends I try to run paths 1 thru 3.
Other: I’m dont consider myself a speed runner but I defintely dont mind skipping trash mobs.
This post is a followup to another thread where other players replied they had interest in joining together with other players in Arah on a regular basis. That interest inspired the creation of a new guild (thanks Obal!) with the sole purpose of offering that.
This isn’t a recruitment post. This guild will serve as more of a list of players with the same interest. Experience isn’t necessary to join as there are people willing help players new thru Arah.
Requirements for joining:
-Your characters are on a NA server
-Have full exotic gear
-Have a ranged weapon on you (warrior- rifle, guardian – scepter + focus or sheild, theif – bow)
-Have a good attitude and respect others.
-Don’t be pushy or elitist
Make a post here for an invite to guild and you will be added. It will make it easier to track. Please dont whisper Obal in game for an invite. Someone from the guild will give you an invite. If you like you can give some general info that might be helpful to others (kind of like my post below).
Thanks goes to SkyChef who was nice enough to put together a website to help groups coordinate together.
“Members of the club will have access to http://www.LupiSlayersClub.shivtr.com once you have applied to http://www.shivtr.com for a free account then re-apply again at our website. That’s the way it works.” – SkyChef
The website has good tools and has much to offer in the way of coordinating group runs. Or you can feel free to changing your ingame status to LFG if you feel thats better or use GW2LFG as some people have suggested to coordinate groups.

I have not completed Arah, sadly. Joined pugs and most would just leave. I would love to find a group of people to run it with.
You might want to check out this post.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/dungeons/Arah-Vet-here-to-help-you-with-Arah-runs/first
I have yet to group with any guardian that comes remotely close to Obal’s level in Arah. Kudo’s for your contributions back to the dungeon community.
Having run dungeons a lot I’ve come to understand that Arah is unique from other dungeon content even including Fractals to a degree. I’ve had some terrific PUG groups and some bad ones like anybody else. I’ve tried doing this with guildies but they have been worse than the PUGs.
Is there anybody else out there that likes Arah but would just love to find a group of regular people to run it with? Isn’t there some way for us to get together other than using gw2lfg?
The thing about using gw2lfg is you are taking peoples word that they indeed have run Arah before but in many of my groups lately that hasn’t been the case. The group gets up to Lupicus and can’t finish because even when you bring in more replacements they dont know how to do him either. 90 minutes later the group gets frustrated and disbands.
So wouldn’t it be possible to form a guild on any server and give people who want to run Arah regularly a place to get together? Or is this just non-sense or wishful thinking?
He is a bit buggy post patch. He does seem to reset very easily now. He’s pretty deadly with his single target poison toss…. I dont get 1 shot but he’s hit me with 2 in a row in quick succession and downed me. A couple times now he’s gone back to the start of phase 2 and been invulnerable briefly then has summoned up adds.
Its been more difficult but PUG groups I’ve been in have been less than ideal. Even when I am in groups with a couple guardians neither one of them knows how to tank Lup.
Due to me being kicked in CoF or any dungeon really because I main a Guardian has been pretty irritating
What kind of idiots are there on your server? I mean, Necros/Engis I can sorta understand, but Guardians are still freaking a-ma-zing!
A guardian can make certain content faceroll which is why its normal to see 1 guardian and 4 warriors as the best grouping. Arah is a great example. Guardians were just made for Arah but the warriors still bring the facerolling dps. However in CoF yes I can see groups only wanting 4 warriors and a mesmer for path 1. I guess it depends on what your into.
I found the people who complain the most about skipping are the ones that really struggle at it. Then they declare it takes no skill.
Its just the way those events work. Just as anybody shooting projectiles must go inside the bubble. If it saddens you that badly put on a sword and focus… go thru the portal… and have a ball.
Having a mesmer in your group really trivializes swamp.
Interesting points professor steel. Is it the saying “too much of a good thing” that made WoW go stale for us? I played it for years and enjoyed it. Some friends played it so much it made them sick of the game. To be honest I dont know what keeps free to play games afloat. Are there really that many people buying gems?
Anyways I find the dungeons fun and interesting. I found Arah to be “exhillarating” the first few times fighting Lupicus. Fractals were in a way too but at low levels it was very easy to go thru content. I still find GW2 dungeons to be fun. I guess its like anything else… GW2 might not be everybodies cup of tea.
I’d be down for running some Arah with you all. I’ve run everything but path 4 (and I’m not really chasing the dungeon master title). Path 3 is easy enough but the real problem I seem to have is nobody experienced wants to run path 1 or 2 which are only slightly harder than path 3.
Anyways if anybody has interest in running some Arah with regular people please add me to your list. I’m a mesmer in full exotics and have probably run Arah maybe 25 times or so and run maybe 600+ dungeons overall. Thanks.
p.s. I’ve run CoF, AC and TA an extreme amount of times. Not really sure I have much interest in those. Although running dungeons with the right group makes all the differnce so I wont say I wont ever do those again. I enjoy the dungeons.
(edited by Kumakichi.2583)
Only time I had this happen was in Arah when an elitist couldn’t run thru the mobs on path 3 so he decided to get his revenge on the rest of the group.
Apparently guardians running fotm 17 and below haven’t discovered there reflections skills yet. But taking a 2 hander and swatting at things makes up for it.
Actually I’m liking harpies as a mesmer. Its a bit of a challenge for me to work my reflections. And its pretty non-stop laughter watching people who ran in front of me get punted by harpies. I dont think they realize I’m reflecting sparkly things.
I haven’t seen it to target clones etc. with infection. However, it may target them during phase 2 transition.
This is what I’m observing. Its only happened a couple times so far but as Lup progresses to phase 2 he will sometimes spawn a grub on one of my clones/illusions. And gulp Lup has a happy meal. So I try to shatter once he goes invulnerable. Its just a small thing and completely manageable. Other than that illusions seem good in this fight.
Edit: if you’re lucky you might find a group you click with and end up asking each other regularly for your dailies and such. That’s what happened to me.
I keep looking for this too. Maybe I need to be a little more proactive in asking.
Be vocal and use a “carry” mindset. When you get yourself about 15-20AR, just join fotm 26/28 dailies for your progression as you’ll have better luck grouping with seasoned players.
Thanks for this tip! I’ll give it a try. Makes sense and maybe i can make the leap from those lost groups. My end goal is to run fotm 26/fotm 16 which I thought was conservative but realistic for pugg’ing. Now i see it being possible
