Purely as a detective, a thief, for their stealth abilities. Teleport in, hear conversation, teleport out.
My favorite would be Primordius. Just cus. But as far as which one I would like to see in future updates, that would be Kralkatorrik because I want to go to the desert. I want to see what happened to Glin’ts lair (I don’t think Glint is dead), and the nostalgia factor to the max would be awesome.
Glint is dead. Shown point blank in the Edge of Destiny novel and her corpse was recovered by the Zephyrites.
Still don’t believe it. Its been shown on several instances that the elder dragons have gained knowledge of the modern world through their minions, so Kralkatorrik would know of Glint’s death, yet he still B-lined it to her lair when he awoke. What reason would he have for doing that?
Im sure you have seen videos of other games where people go to unfinished areas or dev testing sites. Undoubtedly GW2 has such locations.
I wouldnt be surprised if there was even mechanics/special class hidden to us that allow the devs to use any skill or any weapons/armor in any combination. Such things are necessary for testing.
Except that there is absolutely no way you would be able to gain access to maps that you are not intended to.
Yes you can glitch into areas within maps that were unfinished, but the mechanics for travelling between maps and the way the server tells which map you are in mean that there is almost zero likelihood of you being able to port into some magical unfinished zone that you shouldn’t able to reach.
First of all, they wouldn’t put an unfinished zone in game – there’s no point, they would be testing it on their own servers, no reason to implement it onto the live servers.
Second, if it were on the liver servers there’d be a good chance someone would have found something in the .dat that at the very least HINTED at its existence.
Third, they’re not idiots….
Konig is absolutely right, if they had a map that they were going to release – they would have done so. I would assume they probably are working on new maps, but until they decide to release them they won’t be accessible in any way shape or form within the game. It’s common sense, they know that datminers have a tendency to jump on anything new – that’s part of the reason patches aren’t released until patch day.
Also the devs don’t need a special hidden class that allows that, if you’ve watched some the live streams they have the ability to mess with things on their own servers for testing purposes – e.g. removing cast times completely. But they do that kind of stuff on their OWN servers for testing, not on the live servers. An intelligent company is not going to put potentially game breaking things on live servers if they can avoid it. Testing servers exist for testing.
The unfinished levels are often still in the game files, though unacceptable to you or I normally, you are right, but just look at World Of Warcraft, which they have a few test areas that ARE in the game files even if they aren’t part of the game.
Its not unheard of games to have near completed content that was unreleased in the final version. IE Mass Effect 3 has voices for all companions for every part of the game even though in the final release, many companions were not unlocked till later points.
If the devs can do something on their test servers, they can do it on the live servers. Normally they don’t but it is still possible.
All i know is if my armor ever changes to some super sexualized version, I will be kittened. I like my armor the way it is.
All I know is no one here asked for skimpy or super sexualized versions of anything.
I know, but really there is nothing wrong with the current skins. What would you have be different?
All i know is if my armor ever changes to some super sexualized version, I will be kittened. I like my armor the way it is.
i know in rift “multiboxing” was perfectly legal.
in case you dont know, multiboxing is 1 guy with like usually 5 or so characters with the same exact set up stacked on top of each other. he uses 1 keyboard to control all 5 of them simultaneously. effectively making him as strong kitten (wow as “5” is blocked) people (but stronger since hes so coordinated)
Im assuming since its also an mmo, that gw2 would have a similar policy. Not that you’d something that exorbitant for what you’re doing.
That would undoubtedly get you banned from 99% of games. Controlling 5 characters at the same time doing the same things is putting yourself at a greater advantage over normal people. You would be able to take on almost anything alone because you as an individual are in control of 5 characters where as a normal group would be 5 individuals in control of one character each.
The OP just wants to do PVP with one account and during downtime, do PvE with the other account. He as an individual is never controlling more then 1 character at any given time.

I have been playing the same character since I began GW2 and so it’s the character itself that is important. However, back then, I didn’t really know the differences between Norn or Humans and so I just picked one. I don’t care if I have to redo my personal story, loose racial items, etc. If there was a contract available, I’d gladly pay Anet the cost.
If you don’t care about losing the story progress or cultural items, why not just… make a new character? Because you don’t want to have to level to 80 again? Oh, so you just want an insta-level 80 fully geared, not just a race change.
The idea of 2 people taking on a world boss alone is itself alarming. A hand full of people and I managed to take the center point in WvW in no time. It felt underwhelming because that means a group of like 5 skilled players could take it almost any time. What should be the most heavily guarded location in the entire game, and a handful of scrubs can take it in 10 minutes tops.
It almost makes me sad to know that I am avoiding random champs out of fear when in reality, I could probably take them on alone. There should be minimum scaling caps so that things that should be hard are hard all the time.
I dont play a ranger, but as a thief, I use medium armor as well.
My skins consist of:
Head: Nobel Headgear, T2 Asuran, T3 Asuran, or the gasmask.
Shoulders: Aetherblade or T2 Asuran
Torso: Aetherblade coat or T2 Asuran
Gloves: CoE gloves
Pants: T2 Asuran pants
Boots: T3 Asuran boots
That level 20 character running around with the fractal back item skin, guess what, that person actually had to get the skin/item normally, so they did the grind. The stats still only apply to the character that uses the origional item, but the skin, while able to be used on that level 20, was obtained the legit and only way. Through the grind.
Your precision is unaffected, you could have tested it before asking.
I could have, yes. But that would be too easy. XD
Plus I’m not at home right now, and i was reading through the release notes when I thought of it.
And thank you for the clarification.
The text for this trait says “Gain vitality based on your precision.”, and the other part about what the trait actually does says “Precision converted to Vitality: 7%”
My question is, is part of my precision literally converted, as in I lose precision to gain vitality? Or is it I gain vitality based on 7% of my precision, but my precision is unaffected.
The word “gain” kinda implies it is additive, in that I gain vitality and don’t lose any precision, but the description says “convert”, implying that I swap some precision for vitality.
Im not a super or power player. Im very casual, so my build isnt that great. I play a thief mostly, and more often then not I am using my shortbow because Im just no good with the melee combat in a dungeon setting. I honestly think I am doing sub-par damage output with my bow, so if someone could truly see how I am doing, I would probably never get groups. I want to do more dungeons, but there are few groups as is. Everyone is running the train and doing world bosses. I’ve literally never seen the inside of Sarrow’s Embrace or honor of the Waves since launch. The only dungeon I’ve completed all paths on is CoE. Hell, I didnt even know about paths until 6 months in. The last thing I need is some new reason I cant get a group.
That JP is not that difficult. I’ve even found a few shortcuts. Sure its difficult when there are others wanting to kill you, but just go in the off hours and everything is fine. I once ran it with people from the other 2 servers and we just didn’t bother eachother.
There are more frustrating JPs out there.
Better question. Do we need one? Not really.
if $50 is too expensive, there is this new concept of “saving your money” that can drastically aid in the buying of products.
$25 from 2 paychecks
$20 from 3 paychecks
$10 from 5 paychecks
$50 is not that expensive.
Because there is no weather system at all, so they cant cycle through weather types.
I completed the map exploration solo. I’m no power player, so its not that difficult.
As a thief, I use a bow for events because it does increase the amount of loot I get. Quality is still questionable. Ive only found like 2 or 3 exotics from mob loot since I started playing pre-launch.
As a mostly soloer myself, I welcome this change. I solo a lot of things, but I like seeing other people because otherwise the game feels lifeless. Plus I’m sure there will still be many areas that are still fairly empty. People seem to think this update means maps will now have max number of players all the time, every time.
For the thousanth time the name “GUILD WARS” has nothing to do with PLAYER GUILDS. Its the war between Ascalon, Orr and Kryta. Just because the game is name Guild Wars doesn’t mean there has to be guild halls. They also stated in the future there will be guild halls as well as player housing so sit tight patience is a virtue.
Well it doesnt help that GW1 had a major push on guilds and guild halls and guild battles, so they kinda did it to themselves on this. Because the Guild Wars were not made a huge focal point in the game, people could only come to the conclusion that it was in reference to guilds and guild battles. Admittedly that is what I thought too untilli decided to read more into the lore, but you cant expect everyone to do that.
Sounds exactly like the current system but you are asking for more “slots”.
Tips on staying organized? Keep your bags in order and don’t let them get cluttered. I have a section in my bags for weapons and armor.
Highly unlikely. Like, you have a better chance of being struck by lighting and winning the lottery at the same time on a friday afternoon mid summer during a blue moon.
If you are doing nothing wrong then you have nothing to fear. If you do get banned for some reason, then you have sufficient grounds for an appeal. The bans are mostly automated based off their anti-hacking software, so a person probably doesn’t even look at the reports unless they are dealing with an appeal.
Make sure to check back for part 2 and 3 of this announcement for more details.
-_-
This is like local news stories.
“In today’s news, Does using dog shampoo on your baby turn it into a velociraptor? RaptorWatch reporter AnthonyOrdon investigates after the break.”
Something that can ruin your whole life, and its right in your closet!……full story at 5.
All of these blog posts should have been posted as one news story. There’s no reason to leave us hanging like this. It’s like throwing a bone to a dog but the bone is just past the leashes reach.
People are less likely to read the whole thing if they post it all at once. By breaking it up, they can ensure people at least read most of the information before taking to the forums to complain with false information
Good thing I have few friends and rarely interact with my guild.
Also, the key words are “more likely”, not “always”. It wont be impossible to meet new people. You are just over reacting to nothing. Dead maps are a problem, as I can never find groups for dungeons. I’ve yet to even do HotW story dungeon, and had a fail party for SE boss.
some off topic brag / show off etc:
world completion 83%
no legendary weapons
1 howl (warhorn precursor)
(a former guild member sold it to me for 12 gold, he bought it for 12 gold right after the karka introduction event)i am just a very casual player with 14,400+ achievement points.
also did not ever had any precursor drop or from the mystic forge.
i had some exotic drops from mobs or chest but nothing spectacular.
well maybe one final rest from the shadow behemoth if that counts./end casual player brag show off etc
14,400 AP and only 83% map completion? A bit slow there eh? Im casual too and have never had more then 25 gold, and only have 4900AP abd 100% map.
100g from a random person? No I wouldn’t return it on my own accord. If the person messaged me about it, then I would return it.
If it was someone I knew, then yes I would without question.
I think their presentation of old areas is different. We are used to it feeling like a linear path from GW1, when it is now an open area. After seeing some of the pictures, i can see the resembalance of the old locations, I guess I was just hoping for less of a drastic change. The references to GW1 are more subtle, and the landscape has changed.
I guess i was expecting a reworked version of the GW1 maps.
Or living story items that you accidentally transmuted over and now can’t get back.
From the sound of it, as long as they were only transmuted once, you will get the skin for the previous item. If you transmute Item1 and Item2, but then transmute Item2 to Item3, you will only get the skin for Item2 and Item3, but not Item1.
I haven’t heard of anyone making coin off the gold/gem conversion.
If someone wanted to, and they were selling the gems now, they would of had to of bought them in earlier october. early october to now could of seen a 1.6g profit per 100 gems. That’s a long time to make very little profit (it’s only 37.2% profit).
There are many things that can give that much profit after 1 week, many other things that can give 100% profit after 1 month, and even more things that can give 200% profit after 4 months.
In the early days of the game, gems were selling at 20s for 100.
I hope the leave it destroyed. Because of its design, there was little to no reason to ever go to any other city. LA had access to everywhere and had everything you ever needed. Hopefully now the other cities will get some attention.
I duno if its related but if you ever swam around the sewers, you can find a cave with some simple ship wreckage under there. It was used once for the first halloween event, but not since that.
How about Asuran fitted boots…
My guess/hope is that they are secretly working on a new standalone game like Factions and Nightfall were, and will surprise everyone by covering it up with the living story crap.
I found one in Southsun. Touching it just pushed you away.
It is located just north-east of the crab-toss mini-game arena.

The lack of closed toe shoes is my biggest complaint. They have like… 3? and are all cultural armors.
i hate the argument about no core updates… play the game in 2 weeks you wont wanna see the tower so whats it matter when its gone
I think the issue is more about events like these leaving 100% no trace they were ever there when they are done. If they instead left a crumbled tower and maybe some toxic alliance forces here and there with maybe a toxic offshoot around the world once in a while, then it would be far more acceptable. Maybe even have some minor dynamic events for cleaning up the mess over time.
Its just dramatic changes such as these should always leave traces. It shows a history of the game and how it has evolved.
I never asked for harder content, I asked for better content. I like to solo, and sometimes tag along to others running through areas (Not just in the tower), that is just my play style. I would much rather have alternative routs with letter rewards but still completing achievements, that way I can still partake in the content while others who want the group activities can be happy as well.
The Halloween event was a disappointment for me because it pushed for PVP in order to do the required number of achievable, which I never attempted because I don’t really care for PVP.
The problem these Living Story events have is a lack of content for a wider range of people. if possible to appeal to the solo casuals and the hardcore groups without sacrificing the story and gameplay.
They have been there if not from the launch of the game, very soon after. They were not added with SAB.
My biggest issues with GW2 involve Living World content. Sure, we get monthly content, but 9 times out of 10, the content is removed after the month. The only real addition we have had that stayed is Southsun, but that place has gotten stale long ago.
There has been no announcement or hit of any expansion, and was stated that Living World events are their focus. Fine and dandy, but there is soo much potential content not being explored, and way too much focus on one time events.
So why not turn the Living World events into the expansions? An active exploration south into the Crystal Desert, or across the sea into Cantha. Every 2-3 months a new map. In between can be events for new problems and roadblocks for the exploration.
there is so much potential in this game, and I feel it has fallen stagnant despite the monthly events. I have barely touched the Halloween event because most of the focus is in the PVP, which I do not enjoy very much. The only real thing to do is close doors in the maze. Yay…
I want new places to explore that STAY.
Might be a result of your low graphics settings.
Well the Charr and Abbadon make a little more sense since the Charr killed their gods. I would imagine there are some Charr out there who took up the human gods, and maybe Evon is one of them.
But someone from Lions Arch who seems to have little familiarization with the Asura and their tech, the connection is even more of a stretch.
This thread isn’t complaining about the outcome of the election in any way, so leave those thoughts at the door.
I was wondering why a human would care about the reactor explosion? What interest would a human have in Asuran affairs of this nature? What is different about this one reactor and not something like CoE, which is a fairly large Inquest base of operations?
I am interested to know more about the Asura in any way, but the fact that a human would front the push for the investigation seems very unfitting.
All my opinion. I would like to know what others think.
Indeed, same composer, so similar sound. This applies to Total Annihilation, Giants: Citizen Kabuto, and Supreme Commander as well.
What does the sexual representation of to do with the look of the armor? Why the hell aren’t you people complaining about the ugly boots!
