Seems like the champ train whiners won out in the end.

Kindof dangerous to have nothing for 10days

There are still some people hyping up ESO? Every single MMO I have seen gets hyped as as the next amazing thing, all other MMOs better watch out, finally WoW is going to be dethroned, etc and then a month after it comes out everybody kittenes about how crap it is. ESO has had kitten impressions since the first day of beta and its only been getting worse, God knows what people will be saying a month after it comes out.
Humans are the only race that can properly portray the Noble upbringing required of a Mesmer.
Sylvari come close with the voice though.
Excuse me my mesmer is a commoner and she will fight you.
She probably has wooden puppets instead of illusions.
I wouldn’t mind a new heavy class since I want to make a Human in heavy armour and don’t feel like making a second Guardian (wouldn’t really say no to any new class though and plus one to a Dervish class) you are right though they are already having problems balancing the classes they have.
As far as races I refuse to acknowledge the game as out of Beta until Skritt are playable.
These pictures are making me sad I never got round to buying more Town Clothes to dress up my characters before they were removed.
On the other hand I should be happy that I only bought a few so I am not getting as screwed over as the rest of you guys.

Just realized I will also have to use the ugly witch hat if I want to use my Witches outfit, guess I won’t be dressing up for Halloween anymore
Town clothes really just need to be wearable in combat. End of story.
You should probably read the thread you are responding too.
I’m confused. I currently have the kahki shorts on my Norn, when this change is made is it going to be replaced by a tonic? Will that Tonic just replace the pants on my character with the shorts or will or will it now change all my clothes with something they think goes with the shorts?
Also I bought glasses for several of my characters, are they becoming tonics? will it swap all my clothes just because I want to put some glasses on?
Did anybody catch anything on whether back pieces are included in this as well?
Everything sounds good, well except for the chances to town clothes but everything else sounds good.
Its pretty obvious that these ferocity changes are a joke and the fact it got out of a design phase let alone is in a patch about to be released is hilarious.
It does absolutely Zero to fix the problem they are claiming it is supposed to fix (Dungeons will still be all Zerk all the time) but does cause lots of extra problems (Celesital/Valk/Cav nerfs, Power builds will be even weaker compared to condi in WvWvW)
Dueling: sounds pretty interesting, and I can’t wait to try it. It does look like one of those things where it sounds better in theory then it actually pans out, Either way I am expecting a ICD to be slapped on it pretty fast making it near useless. Still going to need more reliable AoE and better mobility to truly be part of the zerg.
Chaos: Putting shatter grandmaster traits in lines that aren’t Dom or illusion just isn’t going to work. You need 30 in illusion for the cooldown reductions and 20 in Dom for DE.
Inspiration: lol
Illusion: Could be interesting. I like Torment and wanted more sources of it on Mesmer, hopefully it is a decent amount. Still need something to be done about Confusion though before we can get a decent condi build again.
Hopefully there is more balance changes then the ones they listed because Mesmer still needs help getting around these maps.
I’ll post this here since I am not sure which thread we are meant to be discussing this in.
Saw Survival of the Fittest, got excited and started theory crafting some build. Then I immediately remembered this is coming with the ferocity bullkitten and figured whats the point, power rangers are never going to do any damage.
Probably the best build that will come out of this will be a 20/20/0/0/30 (sorry 4/4/0/0/6 eye roll) using the new beastmaster grandmaster and Hawk to make some heal heavy pet build possibly using Zealots depending whose healing power is being used for it. But that is obviously not going to be useful in any serious are of the game.

Ferocity design meeting:
“Why does everybody use offensive instead of defensive gear in dungeons?”
“Because every single boss in the game relies on one shot mechanics that are so spaced out they always have an evade on hand to dodge it”
“So why does nobody use condition builds?”
“Because we put arbitrary restrictions on condition builds in PvE for no reason”
“So how do we fix this?”
“More varied boss mechanics, e.g. faster hits for less damage and removing/reworking the restrictions on condition damage”
“Nerf crit damge but keep it top in terms of damage so the only change that is mad is that it takes longer to plow through our damage sponge bosses, you say? Brilliant!”
My favourite GW word censor comes from GW1.
One of the more difficult missions at the beginning of the Factions newbie island was to kill a character called Captain Quimang.
His name was clearly printed above his head, but if you asked other players for help in killing Quimang, the first syllable of his surname would be censored, as it is an archaic (17th century) vulgar term.(It will be interesting to see if that syllable gets hit with the kitten filter)
I noticed the same things when fighting the kitten ed Priests in Prophecies.
The only thing that bothers me is no mention of increased mobility.
Really though, if they just let us use spear and trident on land it would make the class perfect for me.
Markmanship has enough good traits and read the wind will have less Impact
Which two traits should we choose from Piercing arrows, spotter, eagle eye, signet of beastmaster and read the wind? to have 3 longbows trait in a line where we only can choose 2 is not clever. and as we can see in the Picture to see how the new System Looks, we can see percing arrows, spotter and eagle eye are still thereI would mention that the Engineer can’t take advantage of all its Rifle traits either. Apparently that doesn’t matter, since you and other people on this thread let go of your common sense and let emotion take over.
Why do I get the feeling that you were upset when Ranger was chosen over Engi for the CDI
Wow… there are builds in my mind which just became extremely awesome :>
[6 4 4 0 0] would be one for sure
What’s next then? There will be 4 other new traits for us. I’m afraid of having a chaostrait that can’t compete with PU and an illusionstrait that can’t compete with IP but I’m really looking forwart to Dueling and Inspiration!Dueling will be some kittenty mantra buff that no will ever run; I guarantee it.
Gain 50 armour for each mantra you have slotted but not charged.
How about buffing DPS for PvE players, instead of adding more trick-traits?
You realize that you might have rolled the wrong class if you expected a Trickster-class to be competitive in raw power to other classes?
looks at GW1 Mesmer
Yeah actually.
Hoping the rest of the traits aren’t so focused on one small game mode and help out with PvE and WvWvW. Then again what Mesmer needs in those modes are serious QoL adjustments so I am not sure how helpful new GMs will be there.
Also as soon as this hits I am expecting the outcry to be even bigger then those couple of days when Mesmers could use Shattered Strength to actually stack some might on them for a change.
As always, the mesmer in PvE is forgotten.
They are taking the whole pvp esports thing too far.
You’re forgetting Mesmers in PvE aren’t in as bad of a position as they are in PvP…
You have those two modes mixed up.
See Engineers and Eles are already coming in to try and act like they are in worse positions then Rangers, faster then in the CDI too.
I expect Necros and Warriors next.
Nah, the Rangers grandmaster is bad. This looks pretty good.
I can’t decide whether my favourite thing about this is that it is yet another longbow trait in the over stuffed marksmanship line or that its only use will be trying to combat a bug in ranged combat.
Can’t wait to see what the other grandmaster traits are, should be hilarious.
So will Abyss/Celestial go down in price since people need less, or will it go up because dyes will now stop dropping? I am always bad at predicting what will happen to tp prices.
Also a month with no content, especially with how PvP is in flux right now seems pretty stupid. Starting WvW season 2 with no balance changes is even more stupid.
Unless you find trenchcoats sexy then 99% of medium armour is non sexy.

No, no! That is not ok, ANet! No!
Lions Arch is allied with the Centaurs, that is more then enough reason for Kryta to stop turning a blind eye to the pirates who are squatting on the grave of their old capitol and terrorizing the nearby farms and take control once Scarlet is gone.
Which is another thing worth mentioning, all of the main enemies of each race is considered a serious threat by the other nations and gets pact, vigil, priory and/or whispers help whereas LA openly allies each itself with centaurs and the only help Kryta gets is some band of mercenaries that really hate centaurs.
Even before the nerf I was in favour of replacing the skill with something that would actually be useful to Mesmer but people are still having trouble with it now that it is completely useless?
This thread has shown me one thing though: there are some people who are seriously uptight about nudity. I think maybe it’s a cultural thing? In ancient times, there were many peoples of the world who wore little to no clothing. It wasn’t until we all became “enlightened” and “educated” did we learn that your body was something to be embarrassed about. The body is a beautiful machine, people.
Are you telling me that you, and the others with your mindset (that we are all prudes for not liking how this was done) would accept to have equal amount of skin showed for males just like this image shows?
‘cause I’m sure there would be the biggest uproar if it was to happen. The problem is not nudity, it’s the objectification of the woman body. A male bared naked chest does not have the same connotations… a woman can be arrested for being topless at the beach, per example.Anyway that is not even the issue we are bringing up. Why do you guys keep calling us prudes when we say “we don’t care if it’s skimpy… it just isn’t logical or anatomically correct!” Wow, so hard to grasp… -.-
As a hetrosexual male I can honestly say that if those costumes appeared as armour for male characters in the gem shop I would buy them
Mesmer sounds like a troll. Ranger sounds iffy. Warriors sounds interesting, Eles sounds OP.
If Kasmeer dies I am suing for emotional distress.
Hopefully the city is wiped out and Krytans move back in. Will teach those pirate grave squatters to ally with Centaurs.
Give me bonestorm Skritt or go to hell.
Looks like you can.
PvE only players had it too easy getting hundreds of WvW tokens thrown at them in every achieve box.
That said I was hoping that they would start throwing Dungeon tokens in those box so WvW only people can get a legendary but I knew that was never going to happen.
I like them but unfortunately they don’t really go with any of my characters at the moment.
I’m more bothered by the people in this thread that are using builds that want 3 phantasms out on a target but are still taking DE.
This does the exact opposite of what they wanted…
Now since zerk does less dmg groups will almost have to run full zerk to keep dmg up. If you run anything but zerk you’re going to slow down the group… GG
This is the case now, and hasn’t changed at all. Not one iota.
The thing is, this is supposed to be the first change of many. Anet doesn’t want to make a huge BOOM change. Look at all the crying over this already and it’s not even out. Could you imagine what the response would be if Anet cut it further.
They’re making this change to make other future changes possible, but it’s one step at a time.
Given the reaction record of these forums, I’d think that’s a pretty smart move on their part.
You think its very smart for Anet to nerf all the DPS builds for literally no reason and to do nothing about the actual problem people were complaining about in the first place?
I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, doing ham fisted nerfs that effect most builds just to try and reduce the effectiveness of one build is par for the course here.
Its just why is it on clone death builds that are bothering them.
Combine with the pointless Crit damage nerf and I am wondering if I will even bother downloading the next patch.
Kasmeer dies and I quit the game.
Thanks for kittening up boards and deleting my original post. Here is the gist of it.
As other people have said I don’t want anymore GW1 lore being brought up in GW2. Ever since Eye of the North they have just been retconning and mangling it up.
I’ve come to terms with GW2 being worse then 1 in that department so as long as they don’t keep showing their utter disdain for GW1 fans I can just enjoy this game for what it is and try to ignore the damage that is already done. This is actually part of the reason why I don’t hate Scarlet.
So yeah keep Lazarus the Dire and his harry potter rip off story and his Saturday morning cartoon villain final threat out of the game, I don’t need reminding of that.
Think about the countless times PvP players have seen their skills rendered useless for the PvE ones. It’s always worthwhile to look at the other side of the medal.
You can’t count to 0?
Obviously you can’t. I have seen plenty of threads about classes being buffed in PvE, making PvP unbalanced.
I’m not saying PvE is balanced. What should have been done is separate PvE and PvP for balancing. DONE
And yet you are still not giving examples.
Think about the countless times PvP players have seen their skills rendered useless for the PvE ones. It’s always worthwhile to look at the other side of the medal.
You can’t count to 0?
The important question is, what happened to the Mad King’s invisible pony?
I always found this conspiracy that ascended armour looks so bad because Anet want to sell transmutation stones incredibly stupid. While I personally don’t like the look of them there are far worse looking armours already in the game including some Gem shop ones.
Yes I know personal opinion and all that but some people are acting like Anet just ported in some assests from some 90s shovel ware game and slapped them on as the Ascended look. When what actually happened is that they had a design for these armours that just happened to not click with the large portion of their playerbase (and with the random mishmash of armours I see running around LA you can’t really blame them for thinking it would go down well).
On a slightly related note I want to know what I am doing so different from everybody else that I have quite a few of both kinds of transmutation stones sat in my bank because I didn’t buy them and I don’t buy BLC keys.
