I think the base stats at L1, regardless of profession, are 24s across the board.

There aren’t any stat variation because each classes strength is based off of Power, crit chance is based off of Precision, health is based off of Vitality, and armor is based off of Toughness.

It’s speculated to be associated with the event coming up for Halloween.

All I can find on them is that they are a rare drop from loot bags and such, and that they are a Tier 4 crafting material, so I would check in areas that contain Tier 4 resource nodes (like Platinum) and try your luck there. Sorry I couldn’t be more specific.

Seeing as they can’t be crafted, I think the only way to actively gather the Runes of the Dolyak are through random drops and taking them out of the armor; Black Lion Salvage Kits are pretty useful for that. Also, if you have the extra coin for it, you can simply buy them from the Trading Post.

You should be able to report the bot before they teleport, if you can get the report window up, since their account name is available in said window. Also, if you can tell which direction they are moving in (i.e. They are teleporting only a couple yards away to the next kill), try to follow and snag them all.

Yes, at some point. The first content patch should be out in a week or two, containing stuff for Halloween.

You can purchase them on the Trading Post if they are available for purchase. Also, there may be a crafting recipe involving a rare crafting material that can be used to make them, though I have found nothing supporting that idea. Also, random armor drops may contain them, though the chance could be low.

/rock, /paper, and /scissors all exist in the game’s code, just the emotes themselves are disabled; no “Unknown Command.” thing came up when they were used. This also occurs with a lot of other ones, like /bowhead, /guitar, /flute, and /drums.

Second, the two costume things you brought up—Masks and Costumes—could easily be implemented with NPCs being patched in and making them available.

Third, they did bring up that there was going to be an event for Halloween, and to be on the look out for information this week for it.

No reset, nothing would sway me to yes. I’m completely fine with them doing the work that they are on the bot issues, even if they aren’t actively reporting it to the community.

Yeah, but when you go the Heart of the Mists, where sPvP and tPvP is, you are automatically equipped with an alternate set of armor designed for there, and it contains a set of six runes that are for your class (Superior Rune of <class>). These runes are counted towards the total for a set, but they are not active unless the player has the armor set equipped. Basically, if you were to get a different set of runes, let’s say Superior Rune of the Soldier, the effect of those runes will not be applied to you when you are in PvP, because they are attached to your PvE/WvW armor and not your PvP armor. However, if you purchase the Runes in PvP and equipped them to your PvP armor, you will have the set bonus both in and out of PvP, and it’ll read 12/6.

I think PvP armor by default has the rune set for you class equipped. xD And it’s counted, despite not being your active set. This does mean you get the bonus outside of PvP, however.

Anyway, in the long run, I imagine that they will release something like a ticket that can be purchased from the gem store for a quantity and be immediately used to take the player and their character to the customization screen to allow them to tweak their character.

I think no one honestly knows how it works, and for most, they feel that the stat is basically fake. However, I have heard some people getting increased number of magic items (blue and greater), though those claims seem to be few in number.

Most are still waiting to see if ANet will explain the stat a little in detail so that people can determine if the stat is useful to stack or not.

They haven’t made an announcement as to how long they will last, but I’d say that if you need to make a transfer, then you should do so now rather than waiting out.

As an estimate, once you start hearing something about guesting being implemented is roughly when the free transfers will end.

Any character name in existence prior to July 31st in Guild Wars was put on reserve. When you link the accounts, I imagine that the player was supposed to have access to them the day of Headstart. However, it seems like there was either a switch the wasn’t flipped, or a hiccup in their plans that prevented them from giving access to the names on time.

Curious about this as well, despite not honestly caring about any of the names I have saved from GW.

1.) This should have been posted in Suggestions, and may be moved there.
2.) I’m in support for this type of idea. Even if you were doing horrible, they shouldn’t kick you from the dungeon until after combat has been completed.

I imagine it defends against both, seeing as I have seen very little making obvious mention towards spell defenses.

Honestly, just play around with the character creator and make a character that you like. Fun is subjective and depends on the type of player that you are. Also, newcomer is a vague term, since some people are completely new to computer games, where as others have played other types of computer games, just not MMORPGs like GW2.

If you still are wanting an opinion, the characters I’m currently attached to the most are my Charr Warrior and my Human Mesmer.

Still, though, just test play a couple professions with the different races and see if any of them scratch your itch.

Well, I have done such a thing on my warrior against a champion spider boss in Gendarran Fields. Kited around the thing with GS and Sword/Shield. Also, at that time, I was using the Signet build.

Anyway, I imagine most Champion mobs can be soloed, though it purely depends on the enemy itself, the speed and range of its attacks, and what effects it can use. For example, the spider could poison and cripple me; whenever I got hit with a cripple, I’d switch to GS and Whirlwind away from it.

From what I can tell, no, it does not affect quest rewards.

Warrior. Let her do the GS + 5 sigils + Deep Strike to adjust to the game, but make sure she learns mechanics and stuff, since that build will fade around L50, and she’ll need to invest in other stuff to perform.

I’d say Warrior works pretty well.

Greatsword + 5 Signets + Deep Strike will allow you to make short work of enemies, though you will be defensively deficient, unless you are used to dodging and strafing around the enemy. Basically, don’t get caught using Hundred Blades at the wrong time or you have a relatively high chance of dying. I died only twice from L1-50, so again, taking advantage of dodging and movement can actually save you.

That build lasts till around L50, where you should branch out into different skills and play style. A bunch of builds are located here and can be used as a base for a personal build, or be used exactly as stated by the player if you find it comfortable.

I’m basing this all off of personal experience with my warrior, which is my only L80 character I have.

At least until they fix the chat suppression, a temporary fix would be to slightly edit your message so that the idea remains the same, but the words are different.

Or transmutation stones will let you do both. If you are wanting to use a rune on a different character, then I’d just buy the rune again.

Warriors are much more of an offensive class than Guardians are, in general.
Guardians are slightly more defensive by default, and while they can have high damage output, their base health is far lower than Warriors.

You only earn each tier of a rune once, regardless of how many runes you have equipped. So for your example, you will earn +20% Magic Find for those runes, if you have three equipped.

From what I can tell, the monocle that you started with as an Engineer is the only way to get that specific skin. All of the other head pieces that are accessible for Medium Armor wearers are masks or other unique class items.

I also had this appear. It’s probably just ArenaNet asking people who hadn’t changed their passwords in light of the amount of hacking going on to do so, just as a precaution. If your account was compromised, you would have received an e-mail saying that there was an attempted log-in on your account.

The final monthly achievement could be dealing with the hinted-at Halloween event that should either be revealed this Monday or next Monday.

I do, and currently only have 8s. xD

Ranged definitely helps in dealing with Shadow Imps. I used my rifle when I was combating them on Mount Maelstrom, and I took far less damage from them, plus found it easier in dropping them without them using their Helldive attack. If you get caught in melee for it, you can simply dodge when it uses that attack because of how noticeable it is.

Least favorite are probably Krait and Harpies.

Got almost 300 hours in-game. Have one character at L80, and working on another two. Still need to get map completion to 100%, and then the long grind for Twilight, Sunrise, and, in the long run, Eternity begins for Xarinn. xD

There should be a space on the map that you can click and grab onto to drag it back to the bottom corner, if it moves anything like the chat box.

Relax guys do you really think monthly survivor was replaced by “???” due to a bug? In addition experience survivor had a different number of tiers. Think about the month we are in and what might be coming up in the near future.

If they were intending to add something Halloween relevant, they could have just added to the bottom of the Monthly Achievements, rather than deleting my completed EXP survivor achievement. =[

Though I never really thought about that; it’d be weird to create an achievement for this month, just for an event or something.

I think they broke that part of the monthly achievements accidentally with the patch.

EDIT: Either that or replaced it with a better EXP without death one, seeing as the new one has three tiers where as the old one had four.

The patch will be up tonight around midnight PDT, assuming nothing is there to delay it.

Just hit 80, still need to finish exploring that map.

Well, it’s hard to determine much based off of what you said. Use a skill calculator (like http://www.gw2db.com/skills/calc/warrior) and show us what talents you have. That would let people help you figure out what problems you could be having.

Deep Strike is nice, but it’s effectiveness runs out around L50.

I do agree with this. While I haven’t been hacked, thankfully, I do believe that preemptively preventing hackers from trying to access your account with a region lock for your account would be best.
