As true as Odin’s spear flies,
There is nowhere to hide.
lol watever helps u sleep at night bud
okiedokie. have a wonderful evening.
lol ya make a fool of myself cuz all dh do is run when they start to lose
that’s a cool story bro.
i’m not even on DH, but it really isn’t them you’re embarassing.
Funny DH run into that keep more bro
You are in a group of five thieves. I’m pretty sure you have forfeited the right to call any one else a “kitten”.
lmfaoo cuz its fun watching ppls health drop in a split second from 5 backstabs but go back to ur zergs bro and if u want i can change that to 1 engi 2 thieves and an ele if u really want and u will get destroyed just as bad
I would hope you can kill a single target with 5 guys fairly quickly, no matter what the professions are. But I suppose the difference being that you would normally see other professions coming where’s 5 thieves could hit the target without being seen at all.
lmfaoo if u look at the screenshot smart guy there is 5 dh there not 1 need glasses?
you’re making a fool of yourself while simultaneously making it obvious that school is out for the summer.
Part 2, village life
The first to greet us, was the high sage of the region, my father. He was much taller than most Centaur and was renowned for his skill with a bow. It was told that he could shoot a sparrow fifty leagues away. I felt his strong hand on my back, and I could tell he was welcoming me back to the village as an equal. We called him Ventari of the Empty Waves, not as a way to mock, but because my father had long been unsure of the future of our people, and thought that future lay in both Ventari and I. Some of the warriors say that he is Melandru made flesh, I saw some things that made me believe this as well. After believing this himself, my father Og’Rahn adopted Ventari into our family.
My father began to speak, and soon the whole village came out of their homes to listen.
“Welcome, welcome, young Crowsbane and Ventari!” My father paused, making sure the bear carcass was with us. “Since you have passed the test that has long made our young hunters into men, I, and the rest of the village welcome you home from the hunt as equals.”
Ventari and I bowed our heads to Og’Rahn, my father. You see, Og’Rahn was the title of the high sage of this region, and this replaced the first name of the Centaur who bore it. My father’s true name was Windgallop White-Spear.
We both looked up to see my father’s face alight with joy, finally able to see his sons as full members of the village.
“Prepare a feast! Tonight, is a night to be remembered, my sons.” My father yelled, embracing both of us and motioning my mother to start the fires. “You are the leaders of the next generation, and must always remember this. Because of this, your life will be more challenging than fighting the bear in the cave.”
“We understand, father.” Ventari and I said simultaneously.
“Good. I now present you with your honorary rewards, as recognized warriors of the tribe.” He unsheathed a large greatsword, and handed it and the sheath to me. “For you, Crowsbane, the Blade of Souls, wielded by the greatest warriors of this village for generations.”
I took the blade and held it up for the whole village to see, giving a loud cheer, which was echoed by the residents of the village.
“For you, Ventari of the Empty Waves, I give you the two blades of the original High Sage of this region, Og’Rahn Blood-Seeker. May they protect you when all else fails.” After giving us our gifts, he placed his hands on both our shoulders.
Ventari held his blades high, cheering as loud as he could, I joined him and the village followed suit. My mother came out of our house and embraced both of us, and all the warriors of the village did the same.
“Come, my sons, tonight is for you. Eat heartily and enjoy yourselves!” My mother exclaimed, very happily.
My mother too, was well known around the region. She was one of the only Centaurs at the time to interact with humans and live to tell the tale. Her name was Raevan White-Spear.
I looked to Ventari, and could tell he was very weary. I slapped him slightly kitten the back and he looked to me and smiled.
“I can tell you’re tired, Ventari. No need to hide it, rest if you want.” I said to him, trying to hide my own weariness.
“Actually my brother, I was hoping to talk to you about something.” His voice was low and grim. “I’d like to share a dream I had the night before the hunt.”
In the midst of celebration, Ventari and I slipped away to the back of my house. I had a very bad feeling of what he wanted to tell me.
“The dream I spoke of seemed more like prophecy than just a dream. I saw people who looked like us, but without hooves and only two legs. They had exploding arrows that weren’t fired by bows, but by wooden planks tipped with iron. I saw the Krytan territories fall to these two-legged beings in my dream. What does it mean, Crowsbane? Why am I seeing this?” Ventari was so terrified by this, that he was trembling and I could feel his legs shake in the mud.
“What? The humans have never tried to invade us before…” I replied, unsure of what to make of what he was saying.

Wow, big departure from ol’ kormak! I really enjoyed the read.
oh don’t worry, that’s still on the table.
Loosely based on the interactions between the Wampanoag people and the first English settlers of Massachusetts
Part 1, the Hunt
I was born in the Harathi hinterlands, north of Lion’s Arch, many decades before the destruction of the original city. It is tradition among Centaur that I tell you of the side of the story that my people deem correct, however I will be unbiased and honest of how the great Ventari came to be. He was my closest friend among our tribe, and we often spoke of the stars, mountains, and great hunting plains.
I first met Ventari at the age of seventeen, and was ready to go through the trials of our people, he was my hunt-brother. Our game was the giant brown bear of Dolyak’s Rest, who was plaguing the death-grounds of the noble Dolyaks. He and I were given five days to slay the beast.
We readied the armor given to us by our fathers, and spears fashioned by our mothers. At the tips of each were dyed Raptor feathers, one black, symbolizing the presence of death, one white, symbolizing the protection the spear might serve, and one green, for mother Tyria, to whom all life is tied. Since we were both being tested in this way, Ventari and I wore different colored armor and carried different symbols on our shields. I carried the symbol of the high sage, my father, Og’Rahn White-Spear, whilst Ventari carried the symbol of emptiness, the crest of the three waves.
As we approached Dolyak’s Rest, the bear lay sleeping in its den, unbeknownst of our presence. Since our tribe deemed it dishonorable to slay a foe who could not fight back, we awoke the bear by flinging small rocks at it. The bear awoke with an intense fury, of which only seemed capable by the Nature Goddess Tyrianos. He lunged at me, digging his large claws into my shield and tearing it off my arm. I was on the ground, knocked over by the massive strength of the creature. The bear was preparing the come in for the kill, only to stopped by the brazen shield of my hunt-brother Ventari.
“Come, Crowsbane, I cannot defeat this bear without you!” Ventari exclaimed, causing an echo in the cave.
I rose to my hooves immediately, grasping hold of my spear, Ventari and I began backing the bear into a corner. The bear looked at both of us, not sure which to attack, and this was when we struck. Our spears hit fast and true, with all the speed of the great skywinds, and the bear fell dead.
I was exhausted, and I could see that my hunt-brother was as well. On the upside however, our game was dead and we could return home. I took out the large leather rucksack and Ventari and I placed the bear in it and carried it back to our village.
Upon returning to our village, Ventari and I decided whom would take the bear’s claws and whom would take its skull. I told my hunt-brother that I would gladly take the claws and adorn a necklace, and allow him to fashion a helm out of the slain bear’s skull as he saved my life. The rest, down to the marrow, would be used to not only feed the tribe, but clothe them in the harsh winter months that lay ahead.
I placed my hand on the shoulder of my hunt-brother, and stated;
“Ventari, my friend, they will sing songs of us the whole night!”

that’s a funny way to spell ‘skritt’
dear NSP: we heard you like bay?
DH heard you didn’t like your borderland so they ate it.
i don t even want to count hours played and yellows/exotic/gold wasted in MF……
That led me to think for some players its easier to get each fotm skin that any precursor….
Infact i miss only few.
It most definetly is. A guildie got two fractal daggers on his thief. Sure it took like 2 months of daily 48 or something, but that’s nothing compared to a precursor.
TBH its kind of wierd the way droprate for them is designed… They should be far more common. You need another 1000 gold just for the other part of a legendary anyway.
But alas, they’ve promised us a scavenger hunt for so long now its not going to happen.
perhaps it’s time to explore other areas of the game instead of burning yourselves out on pve.
that is human T3…except the hat..
is it? owell. i want the hat._.
only saw the heavy armor sets in the video trailer, they looked amazing. unfortunately my classes are mostly light and medium…
Actually I use a Rifle quite frequently as an engie, particularly in WvW, where I use it to stop people with a net, before switching to my kit. And in most of the open world, you really don’t “need” to use kits all the time. So you can certainly show off your rifle, if that’s what you want to do.
I’m not so sure that most engineers are as kitten ed off about this as you are. Then again, I’m not a big one for walking around with my legendary for everyone to see it. Mostly because I don’t care what other people think.
They’ll see it when they see it, and they won’t when they won’t. In fact, the second legendary I’m going for is an underwater weapon.
I’m not sure how many people this has really ruined the end game for, though apparently at least some of you are really upset about it.
i’m more irritated by the fact i’m using a barret light 50 as a SPAS-12. why is the only legendary rifle most(only) suited for warrior? i haven’t even begun to farm for a legendary because of this. if i wanted to snipe i’d make a warrior. i wanted a shotgun, so i made an engineer.
Those of us who put in the work are not well recognized. We have nothing to show we built them and not just bought off the TP. I was expecting some achievement when I crafted my dreamer in the forge. Nothing.
I kept this post short because their is nothing else I need to add.
title unlocked:
’i’ve never done anything but pve’
Er…what? That’s just the lore from GW1, nothing more. It’s not something that have been specifically thought up for GW2.
I wouldn’t read too much from it.
ironically they have a lot to do with the birth of the sylvari. whom are a major role in guild wars 2. i see the sylvari as a more geo-politically adapted humanoid version of the centaur. they hold a lot of the same beliefs.
this line in the guild wars 2 wiki leads me to believe that the centaur are much more important to the story than they are allowed to be. I do think in further expansions they should no longer be enemies of Kyrta. there could be fringe groups of hostile centaurs however, sort of like the charr and human separatists.
“Although a warlike race, centaurs also have a connection to nature and its balance, capable of sensing corruption within environment, and at least Elonian prides gathering around “ancestor trees,” where they believed the spirits of their forebears watched over them. "
Until treb range is nerfed or treb range from high ground is revisited, battle for SM will keep coming.
i don’t know how anyone can complain about increased range due to elevation. that’s how it works IRL. (anyone complaining about this especially being in the northernmost spot in EB is a little contradictory)
[RISE](GoM) had a lot of fun trolling the kitten out of DH’s attack at NSP hills.
love you! muah
From a WvW perspective I feel the Engineer is one of the strongest professions out there right now. I really feel like we have access to just about everything. When I get my can kicked in WvW I’ve never ever once thought “Engineer is just weak.” Its always because my skill with the engineer is weak.
I can’t really say that with the other professions I’ve played.
i’ve never felt engineer is weak either, i’ve felt other classes are stronger.
Another quickie…
“Today Trahearne gave his all to support his troops during the long bitter cold siege of Jormag’s lands”
YESSSS LOOOL
while i think breakout is a needed event in non-home borderlands, i rarely see people utilizing briar/lake as a foothold, leading me to wonder if this is even necessary any more.

here’s to hoping for a different matchup tomorrow. as the challenge grinds to a halt the second the weekenders burn themselves out.
a strong suggestion to the Os guild: you would greatly increase the success of your server by splitting your zerg in half and using it more than just friday and saturday. oh and the tunnel vision on hills is beyond predictable now.(although why we over at GoM fail to take advantage of that is a little strange)
again, only a suggestion. You don’t seem to know the difference tween a rush and tunnel vision second oh I wish we could pull more numbers during the week used to be able too before my haitus and our group isn’t that big just seems bigger then it is
well that’s unfortunate. i guess it’s not your fault though. i call it tunnel vision as Os has never failed to attack hills every week

And yet players were able to reproduce it over a month ago?
Players play the game substantially more than the developers do, but there’s really no way that couldn’t be the case. Anet has around 300 employees, so let’s assume that all they do all day is playtest, splitting their time equally between the professions. That would be roughly 1,500 hours per week spent looking for bugs.
But according to Wikipedia, GW2 has sold three million copies as of January. Let’s cut that in half, to take into account the people who bought it but don’t really play much at all. Now let’s say Necromancers have one tenth the number of players as they would if each profession were equally represented, so that’s 1/80th of the total, or 18,250 total players. Now let’s assume they play an average of one hour a day on their Necros (some play much more, some play less).
That’s 91,250 hours spent per week playing the Necro, more than 60 times the number I gave Anet, and I don’t think it’s a stretch to say my numbers were exaggerating in favor of your point.
And that’s what the players do – we find the bugs, and then we report them. The rest is up to ANet to respond and produce the results. About a month ago, a Dev had responded to the issue saying that he had not experienced any issues. He did test it, and he tested it incorrectly or he blatantly lied.
Nonetheless, about the demographics, this may be interesting to some of you…

fun fact: this information is related to the PRE-release data and is not current
it says so in the comments of the link.
better comparison? okay
thief pistols damage vs thieves dagger damage.
try not to make this a grief post. i’m mostly attempting to point out the irony that the thief community believes their class to be broken in a way that doesn’t favor them.
Cant say im surprised. But theres no mention of the hp fix in the patch notes. I suppose it could of been implemented without being mentioned in the patch notes. But we shall see soon enough.
The only thing in the notes that im glad has finally been sorted is greater marks. Doesnt change that marks are stupid without the trait though.
answer: no.
fifteencharminimum.
5 months later and I still laugh at that Necromancer balance philosophy.
.
.
.
then I cry, because someone with actual power over balance believes that.
“necromancer, the masters of life and death”
^more deaths caused by thieves and warriors in world vs world than almost every other profession.
Is the mortar supposed to work like this?
Shot mortar rounds wont do anything if you are not operating the mortar.
as seen on this video: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/18485762/Fing%20Mortars%20how%20do%20they%20work.wmvNow the problem with this is that the mortar would be semi-viable for condition engineers if you could shoot with the mortar then leave the mortar and throw grenades or shoot with a pistol while the mortar rounds would be flying towards the target.
Also if you re-enter the Mortar after caltrop shot has contacted the ground it makes the caltrops do damage again.
actually, maybe if it worked like an actual mortar. make it a kit. only you get one skill, mark where each of the shots fire. would have to be a pretty huge range to not be disappointing though.
I’m starting an engie, but I enjoy more challenging classes. Necro is hard to give up but I feel I need something new to try out, as its feeling like I’ve basically done it to death… lol.
iiiiii see what you did there.
Necromancer
•Greater Marks trait: •Now increases the ground target size of all marks.
•Now increases the size of marks created by the Lich Form skill.•Death Nova trait: Now functions with Necrotic Traversal.
•Grasping Dead skill: Now lists the correct number of bleed stacks (3) in its tooltip.
•Feast skill: Now lists the correct radius (600) in its tooltip.
•Wicked Spiral skill: Now displays the correct range in the tooltip.
•Dark Armor trait: Now functions with Life Leech, Frozen Abyss, and Wicked Spiral.
these fixes seem so minor in paralel to the bug caused
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/professions/thief/Is-Thief-really-the-worst-class
i really don’t know what to say about a thread like that. i get it that engineer can drop some solid DpH(different than dps) but comparing two characters, eng and thief, with the same stats, the thief will do more with his daggers than the engineer will do with his or her shotgun
Meh, thieves get nerfed every patch. This one was no exception…
how can you call this a nerf? it says 1200 in the tool tip. did before this patch.
are they serious? …
Power based, I get excited at a 5k hit. I hear war’s get excited at 35k hit in the same situation.
Wait, what? I am not reading warr forums, nor did I check youtube… Is this for real?…
Yep. Thats with Hundred Blades though. Then there is the axe auto attack which is also pretty insane. I’ll let you see for yourself though. Seeing is believing. The magic starts at 5:00. 5:45 for OMGWTF numbers.
‘warrior strategy’ that’s cute.
charr growl
haha. looking great as usual
there is no word in the english language or any language that it was spawned from to describe that fail of the golem rushes on both NSP garrison and DR garrison. both servers wiped us like it was nothing(by us i mean not me, i got away on my uplevel’d necro)
you don’t golem rush a keep that has working oil pots and cannons.
I’d rather see greatsword, but whatever.
greatsword: warrior
greataxe: executioner. and/or necromancer. angel of death, get it?
been trying to reply to this all day -_-
lol anyway that looks great
one of the problems with the eng class: people expected playing like Jango Fett and instead you’re playing like Private Ramirez from COD:MW2
RAMIREZ! do this!
example: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PkuLj5uCgSk
this requires a cool story bro.
stop being average.
ehhhhheh i see what you did there.
don’t worry guys, some day the charr will invent Kevlar for us.
listen to no one saying how bad elementalist is right now. d/d bunker ele is among the best things in the game right now. i’ll go as far to say it’s almost overpowered.
it’s not just you guys, trust me. random disconnects in random situations in wvw. already died twice to players because of lag, fights i would’ve won ._.
hi lag, it’s me again.
Engineer is for mid range combat. So what is wrong with Rifle skills? Nothing.
then it seems we should be griping about not being able to use heavy armor instead of rifle skills.
Really, I’d given up bothering about weapon skins as I spend so little time using them.
haha, i don’t. i use my rifle more than anything else.
You must be using a really bad build. (Honest opinion)

Oh hello there “pro” WvW player.
Let’s be honest here, I can take whatever trait and whatever weapons I want in WvW and make it work. Nice try buddy.
I’m sorry if you felt offended by a Youtube video. I just wanted to correct your statement, and point out that the rifle integrates very well in strong builds, striking outrageous amounts of damage and knocking down any opponent (3.5K – 12k damage).
And no, you can’t choose any trait and any weapon and then make them work in WvW, that would be ridiculous. You actually need to think, plan, test and rework a build in order to make it work. Cheers
I’m sorry but you can literally make anything work in WvW with the over inflated stats . But if you are up for it you should go in a sPVP tournament with your rifle only build since you think rifle is such a great standalone weapon and see how you do.
Edit: Some cool extra information for you – WvW’s are kitten a pvp and we have all seen it in countless videos.
you’re a bit too smug for anyone to really care about your opinions here pal. who are you to say what i or anyone else is doing isn’t working? i mean unless it’s some genius pvdooring with pistols you really don’t have a place to correct people. let me guess, the only builds that ‘work’ for you are cookie cutters? that’d sure be ironic.
Shhhh, no more tears only dreams.
you went full kitten. never go full kitten.
Really, I’d given up bothering about weapon skins as I spend so little time using them.
haha, i don’t. i use my rifle more than anything else.

It isn’t a shotgun, it’s a double barreled rifle. Like a hunting rifle. Double rifles are pretty common in sports and hunting, mates.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_riflei think you give arenanet a little too much credit. because if they put that in their knowingly, they’re trolling rangers AND engineers.
Unless you’re saying ArenaNet was the first brand of double-barreled rifles (which they were not; it’s commonly accepted that Holland & Holland made the first working double-barrels), I’m not giving ArenaNet any credit at all.
