What makes it worse is that they did not give any referential times in the patch notes for the less hardcore rotations. So, I guess we are all supposed to teleport across the maps every 15 minutes to find out which boss is up.

Plus, Europeans got the short end of the stick with the new hardcore rotation, placing Tequatl at really inconvenient times. Now it is quite biased towards Americans who get one of the “big three” every hour during their main online times.

The problems will speak for themselves.

That’s not entirely accurate. It should be: “Just watch others play it.”

When I fight a champion or other tough mob I know I am in trouble the moment a bear shows up beside me.
No matter how obvious the missile reflect ability of the mob is the ranger will choose that moment to use his longbow #2, and chances are that I will have to dodge or eat that damage.
No matter how many players are in melee with a given mob, no matter how many placed AoEs are just in effect, there will be that bearbow ranger who just has to prolong the fight with longbow #4.
And no matter if the targeted mob is within kissing range of the ranger he will rather lazily shuffle a few steps back than pull a melee weapon, because, you know, the class is called ranger. I guess if they were playing engineers they would strictly refuse attacking with anything that is not some kind of engine.

I do not want to say that the ranger class is 100% fine as it is… hardly any class is, but the worst problems, including the common cries of “Oh, please, not a ranger!”, are caused by ranger players doing dumb things and messing things up for others.

Karka Queen Totally Bugged

It happens and is most definitely caused by the player blob fighting the karka queen. For me that was completely fixed by turning off player names and minimizing character limit/quality.

Constant disconnects/rollbacks since patch

Add me and a couple of friends to the list. Regardless of zone, short disconnects happen in spades always resetting you to the character select screen and causing a short rollback.

Fire elemental extra boss bugged

Yeah, that is one bug that happens. A similar but a bit worse one happens when you jump into the hole with a movement power (say, because you were nice enough to revive some people while somebody already opened the portal and you really have to hurry up to make it in time). In that case you will just end up with lethal fall damage on the steam ogre’s platform. (And since in the aforementioned situation the fight will just be beginning or already underway you will not be revived in time, so no loot for the nice guy. Yay!)

What this issue shows is that we need a report button for exploiters. Just today people explicitly asked mesmers not to use feedback because of this issue, so naturally one did and had a perfectly stupid excuse for it: the more people cried about him griefing the sooner Anet would fix this, so he was basically doing us all a favor. (No surprise that did not go over all that well.)

Having a small chance of getting a ruined item when harvesting in combat is indeed not a bug as has been officially stated on these forums before. (I do not like it, since the only time this happened to me was because of another playing drawing mob-AoE on my position when joining me at the node, but well…)
However, reliably getting ruined items with certain traits equipped is very probably a bug. The chance should not be nearly high enough to get that impression by accident.

I have noticed this a couple of times, too. Usually I just shrug and move on, but sometimes, when you get feared and/or immobilized at the start of the event you may find yourself without any chance to contribute enough for the reward.
I do not think the mesmers who do this do it to purposefully grief people (at least not all of them), maybe they actually just want to be nice (quick reward) or show off, but the results are still unpleasant for those making the way to the event for no reward at all.

Unfortunately this bug is still alive and well and happens very frequently during battles with control-happy mobs. You get knocked down and suddenly you are effectively unable to continue the fight.
Other than a quick relog – which might not be a good idea during certain critical events if you do not want to find yourself on a different megaserver – this is usually resolved by either getting incapacitated (knockdown works like a charm if you can somehow still get aggro) or having your current skillbar “rebooted” by getting downed, diving into water etc.
However, these options usually involve some luck and/or waste of time if they are available at all, so a bugfix would really be preferable.

Daily reset bugged

My Dailies are doing strange things, too. Today I had to restart the client to get new Daily Achievements and when I did some of them were already partially or completely finished (and I am pretty sure that Shatterer pre + Shatterer are only two and not five events like my Daily Achievements were trying to tell me).
However, the second problem was not so easily fixed as I am not getting any of the daily bonus chests.
So, I am missing out on a minor amount of achievement points and a major amount of loot. Not good. Not good at all.

Edit: Just noticed a third problem. The resource nodes in my home instance did not reset either.

Wardrobe: Aquabreather Skin unobtainable

Among others the wardrobe shows the Black Earth Aquabreather skins. However, none of them can be obtained anywhere near the Black Earth mine (anymore). The only other place (known to me) to get those special aquabreather skins is Orsippus in Frostgorge Sound.
Unfortunately a long time ago the light aquabreather skin from that karma trader was replaced with the standard skin (which cost me a transmutation crystal for nothing since I had transmuted that skin to the level 80 aquabreather).
For that reason you can only obtain the medium and heavy versions of the Black Earth Aquabreather, the light version does not exist anywhere in the game.

I first noticed Taimi during the LS meeting in LA and within her first couple of words I fell in love with her. She is a great character, funny and clever, and I thought it was great to have another strong female character.
When I learned about her handicap it took a moment to sink in, but then my jaw dropped.
I had no idea.
There is this really lovable character and Anet pulls this stunt to let you know too late that she is handicapped. And by “too late” I mean “too late to see her as ‘that handicapped person’ rather than ‘that cool asura girl’”.
Well played, Anet, you delivered a new NPC, one that would be the immediate favorite member of “Destiny’s Child” (or Destiny’s Edge 2.0 or whatever you would like to call the new NPC hero group) for many and only then you told us that she just also happened to be handicapped.
I am not a fan of all of your storytelling decisions, but this one was just awesome.

Frostgorge Sound is a wasteland... once again

Yesterday during the Claw of Jormag event suddenly the golems stopped spawning after the Claw got stunned for the first time in phase 2 of the event.
Since then there have been no golems during the Claw of Jormag event and mobs have stopped respawning in the zone. What dies stays dead for good.

Hostage in Lion's Arch

Currently players are experiencing severe lags in Lion’s Arch affecting all actions often including the map chat (30 seconds minimum even for simple functions like talking to a merchant).
The worst problem is that it seems to be impossible for characters to leave Lion’s Arch in any conceivable way. It takes considerably longer (around one minute for teleport and several minutes for portals and city gates) after any action that would cause a departure from Lion’s Arch to trigger the loading screen, during which a network error occurs without fail. When the character is logged in again he is once again in LA.

I do not think it has ever been fixed since its first appearance. So far this problem has only temporarily disappeared with resetting servers during a patch and always returned after some time, rendering Frostgorge Sound into a wasteland with super-easy access to ressources and nothing else.

Yes, this bug is back again. Mobs just do not respawn in Frostgorge Sound. (In my case it is server Drakkar Lake.) I bet that means that there are no golems during the Claw of Jormag event either.

Also, this is one half of two apparently realated problems as this bug seems to accompany the disappearance of golems at all times. Basically, when you notice Frostgorge Sound turn into a wasteland with mobs respawning veeeeeerrry slowly (if at all) you will not see any golems during the Claw of Jormag event.

Those two problems (no mob-respawn and no golems during Claw event) are most likely related since they seem to occur simultaneously without fail. Drakkar Lake is also experiencing this bug once more since today.

During the second phase of the fight against the Claw of Jormag no golems appear. Because of that the Claw is never stunned and the event is basically impossible to complete.

I just encountered a bug that blocks progress inside the Nightmare Chamber. I defeated the opponents in the first room, and now I stand there with a blocked exit in front of me and nothing to do. The only “mobs” sharing the room with me are some respawning white spiders, but nothing else happens. There is nothing I can do to advance the mission any further.

No "Whoosh!" for charr and asura thieves

Thief dodge rolls are usually accompanied by a “Whoosh!” sound and a distortion-like graphic effect. For humans, norn and sylvari they still are.
Since one of the most recent patches, however, charr and asura, who both use default dodge roll animations different from those of humans, lack this special touch. This bug seems to affect all thieves of charr or asura race.
Technically a dodge roll is still a dodge roll, but I like my “Whoosh!” and since it seems to have gone by mistake I would like to have it back.

The Battle of Claw Island stuck permanently

During “The Battle of Claw Island” the player has to clear the central courtyard. After completing that objective there is a cutscene in which the dragon appears and forces the player to retreat. But now the dragon just disappears during the final second of the cutscene and the mission objective is never updated. Repeating the mission from the start leads to the same result.

This bug blocks Personal Story progress for all player paths as this central mission can not be completed.

Me, too. There were other changes regarding the FL as the window can no longer be made as narrow as it used to be, so maybe they screwed something up during those changes, basically disabling the search functionality.

Claw of Jormag event broken

On Drakkar-Lake after destroying the final dragon crystal the meta-event message went directly to “The sky is calm. Jormag’s lieutenant has been driven form Frostgorge Sound.” The actual main event never started, but here is the kicker: The Claw of Jormag did actually appear and is still staying there after more than an hour has passed.
I will have another look and see what happens when a new Claw of Jormag is due to appear. With this patch you never know what could happen, eh? Maybe we even get to fight two Claws for the reward of one.

So, how many times have you fought Tequatl since the patch? If, after 15 tormenting minutes, Tequatl is still at 90%, because many, many players experience skill lags in excess of 30 seconds, crazy rubberbanding and one-shot kills they did not even have a chance to see coming you do not need a second or third go to see that you will not succeed if you just adjust your tactics a tad. Of course people are crying for a nerf or at least a fix for the most glaring problems with this change.

Left the game and restarted several times now. Still unable to use the tp. The problem started right at the time when champion boxes dropped during an invasion started showing their name in chinese.

EDIT: EU player on EU server… Are there any non-EU players affected?

Infinite emotes not applied at login

After logging in at a place where people are using infinite emotes (such as /sit or /sleep) you get the corresponding text message but the character models appear to be standing idly instead of sitting or sleeping. This is a new bug, probably since the August 20th update.

This bug seems to affect not all weapons equally. For example all daggers appear to be drawn at all times (only those carried by other characters) but pistols remain holstered.

Correct, but this has nothing to do with the described bug.
The event bugged, but for some reason the API did not, as expected, just shrug and continue the countdown, no, it reset to the 2-hour time after the monastery event as if the Behemoth meta-event had been completed.
And it does that only on servers where the Behemoth event does not start.
For that reason I suspect that the same thing that makes the API go “Oh, the Behemoth is dead. Let’s start the countdown from the beginning.” might tell the server “Behemoth was just here. No need to send it out for another 2 to 2.5 hours.”

Had this happen to me multiple times a while ago. Back then it was definitely an exploit/cheat quite frequently employed by rangers from certain servers in WvW.

Just to be clear, I am stating the symptom that the API starts the event countdown anew after the monastery is cleared. That is what is different on servers where the Behemoth does not appear compared to servers where he does, and so it might help in locating the cause for the real problem, which is that the Behemoth does not appear.

For this observation to be true it is completely irrelevant if the API directly gives the time for an event or if it just receives a notification about the state of an event and starts the countdown associated with the event after receiving an “event complete” (which seems to be the case with the monastery event).

So, it might be that the API “thinking” that the Behemoth event had been completed correlates with the server behaving as if that were true and, correspondingly, not starting the actual event.

I had my eyes on the area for roughly five hours straight, always clearing Greatheart Weald and the monastery when there were events. One would think that some time in that span would be the right time.
To state it very, very clearly: The Behemoth does not appear.

Also, the API gives the correct state of events for other servers. Did the event on Aurora Glade and the timer was right on the spot. So far, this problem seems to be limited to two servers.

Nope, I can definitely say that the problem is not with the website. I use the gw2stuff site/overlay and it does give a time. Also, a problem with a website can not prevent an event from happening as is the case on Drakkar Lake (and apparently on Gunnar’s Hold, too).

Observed since tonight’s daily reset on Drakkar Lake:

Every time the event timer API shows “Monastery requires assistance” for the Behemoth meta-event and the monastery event is completed the timer resets to 2 hours. This seems to prevent the actual Behemoth event from starting as several people have reported waiting in excess of 2.5 hours with no underworld portals appearing at any point.
Apparently the time given out by the API is indeed correct and helping out the monastery “ends” the Behemoth meta-event.

Personal Story: Tonn/Apatia mix-up

During the conversation with the Pale Tree I chose the conversation option that would later give me the missions with Tonn blowing stuff up.
But what I did get instead were the missions with Crusader Apatia about getting the orb from the Krait.
And now the first cutscene dialogue during the Battle of Fort Trinity is teeming with references to poor Tonn and his explosives.
Somehow I think my Personal Story took a wrong turn at one point.

Tears of Itlacol bugged

The tears of Itlacol are currently bugged on Drakkar Lake. Apparently the pattern on the right face is not correct. Known pattern have been tried and did not open the door. (Yes, it is the final pattern tha is missing.) As it is the Weeping Cache from the Living Story can not be completed.

Edit: Miller’s Sound is also bugged. Left pattern worked, the right pattern is not even displayed. On Dzagonur this puzzle is also stuck at three torches. Well, that was my guesting for today with a 100% bug percentage. Might I suggest not placing event content behind frequently bugged regular content in the future?

I, too, would be interested in hearing if there was any harm in accessing the uninstanced Salma that prompted this effort. I was actually hoping for uninstanced versions of home quarters becoming available and now what we get is a step in the opposite direction which looks just like an unnecessary kick in the gonads of the RP community until there was some sort of problem with it in the first place.

This is still a problem. It seems the area around Owain’s Refuge seems to be home to a special kind of Ninja Karka.
There are extremely frequent instant or near-instant respanwns of defeated Young Karka, quite often in the form of multi-spawns of two or more Karka at once. Sometimes these additional Karka vanish after a couple of seconds (possibly to a location that should not be accessible to them from where they were standing) if they are not aggroed, but if they are aggroed – for example by spawning at point blank distance to the player – the whole beach turns into a vile deathtrap.
The difference between a safe run to a resource node and certain death is simply unpredictable.

And in time with which server contributing to the overflow should these events happen? And how would you let the players know which server’s spawn times are relevant for the overflow’s? And what happens when the Event is not completed at the same time as on the home server or not at all, but the overflow still persists until the event begins anew on the relevant home server?
In short: there are many problems with synchronizing overflow event times with those on one contributing home server (let alone several), probably more than the result is good for.

Yup, I have the same problem when I try to join an already running Event. Too many players, too many effects and a lackluster internet connection.
Basically you are already on the map but your character is still not quite generated (which, frustratingly, does not stop mobs from killing you but stops you from killing them in return for the most part). The character will appear eventually, but this can take a couple of minutes (too long for a typical Tequatl-Event).
If you teleport before the actual Event starts you should not have this problem at all.

Ah, interesting, seems to be a general problem again. I did not notice any problem with Brenda’s escort since the monastery Events seemed to be happening normally. She appeared to be stuck in the middle of the swamp last night, just before I went offline, but today she was gone again, so I credited the stuck Event to some runaway mob that I lacked the patience to hunt down.

On Drakkar Lake the Shadow Behemoth Event in Queensdale has not occured for more than a day now. Also, the Champion Oakheart does not appear anymore either. Since the latter Dynamic Event usually blocks the former I guess there is some connection between both Events not happening.

The part that bugs me the most is that I have no way of knowing if I am in time for the event before the teleport or if I will end up in the overflow, thus wasting time and money for nothing.
One solution would be to implement an “overflow warning” that lets you abort a teleport if you would be transferred to an overflow shard. That way you still would be unable to take part in the dragon event, but at least you would not interrupt any other activity and spend precious silver to just stand there like an idiot.
Also, while guesting may not be the sole reason for overcrowded dragon events it sure does not help either. So, it might be worth a thought to limit guesting to a certain degree, say choose one “guesting server of the day” either per character or per account.
Basically, they have to do something, because the situation as it is is nothing less than frustrating.

Dragon Lag

Yup, usually I experience some lag during peak times, meaning that seldomly I skip a second, but since the last patch I need not even show up for dragon events at the weekend due to frequent disconnects and minute-long lag. Just now I got outright cheated out of two of those, because I was there, but as soon as the action started I was utterly unable to even get back into the zone without getting kicked.
