The point wasn’t the solo fight per se. You don’t get shared loot alone like gw1, solofarm had a purpose: be rich.
The poins is unbalanced classes. some can, some cannot. Regardless of how many time you can dodge, switch blah blah. Balance every class to solo, if Robert is having fun to see other solo video , or make the boss enough strong to not allow it at all for everyone. Simple, isn’t it.

Rings without infusion are trash if you want to progress beyond 30 in fractals.

If you get infused rings with your stats with 4 lv10 rings, why you would waste one more minute to play fractals at all, you’re done yet, you would join a progression group just when bored, content would die soon. 4 lv10 rings with stats not needed rewarding a random other lv10 ring (maybe with stats we need) make a sense. Easy rewards = kill the content

Or, as we was used on gw1, Robert, overpower every solo video boss on youtube with a special skill to interrupt/ make the solo fight impossible. Wasn’t so hard during gw1, is it now and you promote it?

Sadly, i agree with your post in the fullest, but it’s just the 1000th post who will be ignored , we asked billion times to give us back our game as it was pre geargrind patch, and more deep and fun. We gave hints to make a legendary as a real legendary path for a worthy player, not just a stupid cheater posting when done a thread here. We gave fix and ideas to make dungeons more enjoyable. Fractals too. Etc etc. They listen the community? Nah

I have already defeated Kholer with my ranger, and it was the most impressive fight I have ever had. However, I NEVER though of making a video for it. Why? Because immediately we will get nerfed and the bosses will be improved somehow.

Well, not so much. You have to watch their play and what they are doing – not the specific skills they are using. If a player can just spam a skill standing still in front of lupicus and not really display any game mechanic knowledge, then that’s probably something we’re going to look into, as it would seem pretty unbalanced IMO. If a player is dodg rolling, swapping weapons, utilizing utilities, and reacts really well, then there’s nothing really we would do to stop that. If a video displays all the qualities of highly skilled players, then we’re more proud than anything. At least I’m a bit proud that is :p

From when your company turned to promote solofarm and unbalanced classes? gw1 solo farm was amazing, not always easy to manage, requiring attention on the amount of adds aggroed, perfect management of skills, was amazing but destroyed by devs on sight at a barely minimal guide or video “how to farm boss X” . Until next expansion’s skills allowed it again. Still, your company didn’t appear to be so much in the mood to allow solofarm.
If it’s a cool thing and intented, overpower every class to be able to do the same fight, dodging, swapping blah blah
Or just, as it would be expected by a regular balanced game, underpower those strange classes able to solo a 5 men content. Period.

In my last two fights with this boss we kited him into the right side room and ran out only when he dropped the hammer. The other mobs didn’t follow us into the room either time. A party member became stuck inside an unbreakable cage, but as a memser I was able to port him out.

Funny time is when the mesmer is the one caged, ending up slowly strucking everyone like my last run and fractal struck.

Hi Robert, as you call yourself hardcore player, am sure that you have experience from many other mmos. So far I have most experience with pass-greed-need table when it comes to rewarding players in dungeons. Am not saying it’s good, but it surely is 100% better than current random scrit giving (mostly not giving) us ascended rings. I know people are scared when it comes to “omg i need this item so much, what if they roll higher than me?,” but let’s be serious, atm there are people that have 10 rings out of 15 tries and the others that are still stuck at 0/15.

Now we get to Maw again and party gets another ring. Guys with 2 rings with suitable stats won’t roll since they got what they wanted (unless they are 12y old trolls) and give chance to others. While with current system, you can just go and cry in corner when you see that lucky guy got his 16th ring.

That was just and example of solution (yes I will probably be burned by casuals for saying that). Or there are many other simple solutions.

1. Let us trade rings in TP – you say that will make fotm farmers rich? so what, they deserve it for time spent in there. Rings with not popular stats (that are sadly kinda common) will become very very cheap in few days, so everyone can buy them and proceed to higher fractal levels. That will mean more people farming higher tiers and price will keep decreasing.

2. Let us buy rings from NPC for Fractal tokens + give us possibility to change ring for another one (for decent amount of tokens ofc)

Good solo vid. It’s just a good display of phantasm/clone control, proper kiting, and build knowledge.

I don’t take it so much as being spit at that a boss can be solo’d, and the boss isn’t poorly designed considering I watch the spider queen wreck 5 man groups. It’s the same with Lupicus being solo’d by a warrior – it just goes to show that knowing the game, knowing your character, and playing well will take you far.
There are buffs I could give to the spider queen, and I’m sure there’s nerfs we can do to the mesmer – but none of which would be a result of this video. Spider Queen is a solid enough encounter for the lowest level dungeon, and OP is just good at playing the game.
I’d be very interested in seeing Kholer Solo’d! Good luck!

Well, i truly hope you will heavily underpower those mesmers able to solo a content designed to be done for 5 players, done with some “smart usage”. I remember gw1 55 uw solofarm was a smart usage too, didn’t end well on company’s view.

Well, when i completed my set, no bugs was online. Nor exploits was popular, nor skipall runs, nor WP zergfights. And no 60 tokens at completition at all.
Yep, for the typical pug is hard/undoable, most are a fail, quitting at lupicus even today we have so many guides and videos. Some, just cannot kill him, some beat him carried, dead yet with armor broken and rezzed, going to repair and back to continue.
Ye, not something for a DE zerg, nor a newbie. Needs practice, calm, it’s an uber fun place. Ye, not so hard repeating it. If you do it constantly and you learn a bit how the game works, mechanics, dodge, etc on general dungeon pve.
No doubt recent patches made arah unplayable.

Ye was a bit before the shardrun exploded. Still, i was playing the entire content during that period too, leading the shardfarm group to continue, reassuring them there was more fun later. Some discovered lupicus and how hard that fight would be ( no wp tricks was know). Some of them was talented players, we beated lupicus plently times, commenting “jeez i didn’t knew about this boss i was just shardfarming, so fun”.
Old good days now gone.
And yes, kholer is easy and fast, most pug skip it because they know they are just a fail at him hiding after a finger " i don’t have time for it".

Fractals sometimes gives core, rarely lode. Upgrade them/ farm fractals. I got way more lodes doing fractals than wasting my time farming like a bot the same add with uberlow chance. Not to forget mystic clover attempts.

If something like what you wrote was possible, when you got your 2 infused version rings at lv20 daily, why the hassle to progress till 49 (after is just cheats)? We progress to have more opportunities to get the rings we want (assuming you have 30 def but wrong stats) while others, unable, still play the same daily. Too much easy suggestion,would terminate the content too soon than expected

Yep, they drop from air elementals too, when DE is DONE. Jade maw battle too. I don’t remember any DE where air elementals keep spawning, and you can abuse of it.

Ye, generation. Prelaunch players wasn’t using any skipall/cheat/exploits. Wasn’t popular at all, people was actually “playing” the content. The 3 months later player is just an exploiter. And an old school player is a boring whiner, kicked or shush and exploit/skip all with others.

Considering is cheat based, not a big surprise, i have plently times a legendary weapon guy on my pug, playing like a DE zerg. Asking him what happens, he never saw any dungeon more than the one needed for the gift using fast skip/exploits, not so fond about pve, mostly wvw (such of skillbased environment deffo XD )

Yep, most pugs fails because they have 0 idea how the fractal should be done not cheating, and even call others (way higher than them, with way more experience and 30 def) noobs, too XD

What testers are you talking about? We customers are the testers, don’t you see how many bugs are out, when a patch is released? Someone tested it maybe? I always love to use as an example the old good bug we had for days ( and back too later ) where people joining a dungeon, was ending up splitted, attempting multiple times to go in praying finally to stay together. This is the first dungeon many of us went through. I used to farm every possible weapon set for my main. Thank god I did that early!! The “new generation” is just so sad in my opinion. 99% of the groups now skip Kohler for whatever reasons they can think of. I remembered used to die 10+ times, but still manage to finish him. It’s not that long, it’s not that hard, and I enjoy fighting him. I was with a group that decide to take on Kolher. One ele still complained about not skipping. Even though we got him down to 30%, one guy said his guild is calling him (WTF?) and left. The other three players then left immediately.
In the previous runs, I had a group that skipped every possible gravelings, and left them beat the crap out of me because I have to rez and run back.
I suppose “skip” and “dying is intolerable” are the new trend of dungeon play?
The most ridiculous answer is “I don’t have time.” If you don’t have time, why are you playing?

I know, it’s sad, what a pug/organized group was at beginning, fighing hard and giving when completed the sense of accomplishment ( forging my arah armor for example, before cheats/ exploits/ skip all adds run was spreading) was a real enjoyment, and made me meet great players i kept into friendlist (sadly 90% of them left the game after geargrind update, with the common answer "we have way better mmos out if i have to waste my time geargrinding and dealing with " i’ m a pro shush you noobs with exotic gear, get your ring before join i leave this group, not even respecting our arah armor or dungeon master title" kind of kiddo players, and i’m done with this game exploit-based" ).
Why this kind of players still play and exploit/abuse/skip everything? I have no idea, but one thing i know for sure: if they do it, it’s just thanks to anet releasing bugged/exploitable ( not fixed) content allowing it. How many times i asked to close doors in arah forever, so you’re forced to kill all adds and door protectors before advance, the end of speedfarm? AC, same. Doors everywhere to put an end to speedfarms/skip. Was it fixed? Nah.

Not mentioning the completition bug, now you know why arah armors are rare, and who wear a complete set ( not exploited) is a worthy one. Master the entire arah content is not something for everyone, nor a random pug of DE zergs.

5? We have 3 infusion slot so make it 15. When new weapons and armor ascended are out make: rings+back (5 each) +5 cond dmg main weapon, +5 secondary, +5x6 piece of gear= +55 cond dmg, while you, with your exotic trash, are way less underpowered. BiS. Now compare a +55 group with an exotic group performance: half time or less.
Basic math, ever heard?
Geargrind to be extreme with uber cond dmg and kill in half time.
Be pro, elitism. etc.

LFG is a palliative. Works, everyone is happy with it, until one is on overflow. Did you try, using that website, to group up discovering everyone is on his main server? Now you know why sometimes you see “Please i need someone on overflow”

Question is ( and maybe the reason they keep prolonging an upgraded tool from tomorrow till never): how the tool everyone ask would work? Server based or interserver?
Because well, now we have just fractals and our beloved LA harrassed of players who make us arrive, mapping, to an overflow. When new content and new ways to get ascended gear and new maps will be out, i doubt we will see so many other player wasting time on LA overloading it till an overflow is needed. So, when you arrive to la and not on overflow, joining a group of players everyone on his main server, how are you planning to group up and meet them? Creating overflows just for them? Overflow is a map overload solution, not an instrument to group up.

We have other threads for this problem everyone doesn’t want. No need to open one more. One day maybe you will see a fix, i hope will not be something will make you more disappointed than happy, like being kicked at 3rd/maw fractal for free daily of some abusers reinviting friends
