Everyone, including me are expecting some kind of a solution for precursors, but can’t you all see that Arena Net doesn’t want to fix it?

80% of this game is about pure luck (fractal weapon drops ,precursors, lodestones, mystic clovers, xxx kind of dust) , the other 20% is pure grind (farm your brains out until you get enough mats,ores,yellow items, so you can sell them on TP for money). The way I’m earning money at the moment, I will have around 600 gold somewhere around December, 2014 . By then, precursors will be 15000 gold.

No matter how many posts this thread has, no matter how people talk about it – they will not fix this precursor problem anytime soon.

1. They can’t because they don’t know how to find other way than gambling to get something really rare.
2.They don’t want because they want us to buy gems for real money and convert them to gold so we can buy it from TP.
3. They know that they can do whatever they want, that there are no consequences for their bad actions – other than losing players to other MMO’s.

Same, no skill was working, was behaving exactly like Karka’s event, unplayable lag. Happend few minutes ago, last Tequatl’s event on JQ server.
Kicked out at 40%, logged back and i was back on overflow, no dragon. Relogged, i was back on main server, dragon was dead, no chest.
Is Anet planning a refund to the customer who received this kind of damage created by their systems and lack of server’s power to sustain a stupid dragon event?

( i mean lol, karka’s event was more than enough for this kind of performance on this game, wasn’t it)

Of course all your anecdotal evidence is from people having poor luck, they wouldn’t ever bother to comment otherwise. This pretty much sums things up. People rarely comment when something is working properly, and usually only bring things up in a positive light if there is a discussion about it and they feel provoked to do as such.
For instance, we recently made it possible to join and reconnect in fractals. Prior to that patch there would be a new thread nearly every other day about how bad fractals were because of disconnects, and those threads would be the most popular. But since fixing it there hasn’t been a single thread about it, or any comments. It’s just the general nature of people to happily enjoy things instead of taking the time out of enjoying something to exclaim that you are enjoying something.

Your team just gave us what we all expected from day 1: something working properly. Nothing to thanks about it, did you expect any?
There is still so much to fix (as expected, nothing to thanks to anyone, just core functions for a sane normal mmo) , and we blame about it daily…

People have been complaining about bad loot since day 1 of the fractals. It isn’t new, and generally I don’t bother to answer those questions since it is just RNG and speculation. Some people find a precursor in that chest, and others get blues. Just the nature of RNG whenever you open that chest.

I’ll ask around tomorrow to see if anything changed, but looking at it right now I see no changes to the fractal chest loot.

Finally I’ll say that it was a massive mistake for Anet to make full Legendaries buyable from the trading post. As if buying a precursor was bad enough… there’s nothing legendary about buying it. At the state they’re in, Legendaries are far from legendary… they’re just sad.

Perfectly true. Pure sadness, the last thing ingame, something for a strict elite, a real player worthy, it’s here just a matter of gold (cash) and you’re done, not even playing the game more than what’s needed to accumulate the money. Real fail, such a disappointment.

LoS and reflection are perfectly sound strategies. One is (at least in part) using the environment to your advantage, and the other is using skills as they’re designed. I do get what Phandaria is saying and can at least partially agree with the sentiment, but not in regards to the aforementioned strategies. I would probably consider content/mob-skipping to be more in line with “trivializing” content, tbh.

I call them strategies when every class can do the same. When reflection is just for 2 classes, and melee is not for every class, this is not strategy, this is abuse of class advantage. Unbalance, exploiting the content

I have a more interesting story.
A few hours ago we were fighting the last boss in Colossus fract, my phone rang and I placed my char safely behind a rock then went to answer (it was like 2 seconds).
Turns out the whole team was wiped because they were jumping inside the boss in an attempt to bug him and get the “free” hammer; I got told that it’s disrespectful to players that I answered phone and didn’t help them to bug the boss.
I was not kicked just because I was the one doing the healing (without that they would have died terribly 2 fracts earlier), but there was an attempt.

Let alone leavers… I wish there was a penalty for leaving, in most games there is.

Take a pic doing the abusive bug during execution, stay still and take pics of it, with group’s names and if you’re kicked, report them attempting to exploit the game, pushing you found inappropriate this behaviour. Be silent on chat, when kicked, report them with a support ticket. I will throw my 2 cents in on precursors and my saga as a broke player.

I always had trouble making money in GW2 since i play WvW almost 95% of my gaming time. I salvaged everything and sold mats to make money.

I finally made it to 20g which was a massive amount for me. Then some of my guildmates told me about throwing rares into the forge for precursors. I made 60 rare swords and decided to sink a lot of my money into it for the fun of trying out of boredom in WvW lately ( A whole different topic). At the time t5 mats were only about 1s each.

After my third toss in the forge(12x) i got zap. I totally went through the roof with excitement and ended up selling it for around 250g. So then i thought, why not go for a dusk since im a ranger. After spending 200g of what i made i was almost broke again.

Discouraged and slightly pee’d off I just crafted 60 staffs since wood is extremely cheap and mats were still low enough to afford it. I threw in 40 of those staffs and got The Legend. All of my friends said i was a lucky goat but they didn’t know i had spent everything i had gotten from zap. So now with almost 500g in pocket I went for my true goal, the Leaf of Kudzu. 480g later of rare thrown in, no kudzu and I am back to square one, 20g in the bank and no closer to anything.

I am an idiot for blowing it all and not just buying it, but that is the hook of the Mystic Toilet.

The only tip i can give anyone about my “Theory”, I got both of my precursors from the mystic forge on my borderland in WvW at garrison, and both of them were 1 week apart on thursday night when my server was winning. This is purely crap luck but an odd coincidence. Take my luck with a grain of salt and don’t blow a fortune like I did for no real outcome.

The sadness of your story remembers me of casino players. I heard this story million times “I will play blackjack, i’m bored of roulette. I made 1000 bucks. Then i played poker, lost most, then i got a straigh , i won 1500 dollars, now i can play a lot of roulette and be rich. Ended up being at square one with 20 bucks”. Same exact story isn’t it.

I personally suggest to not gamble, clearly. Waste of efforts and ingame time and resources. Keep saving money, you will realize you spent less (except if luck strikes, don’t count on it). Maybe one day you get it for free as a drop, or you drop an other precursor and sell it, and you will be pretty much done.

Your issue doesn’t relate to the kicking system (which is bad in itself), but to the fact that the entire party gets booted from the dungeon when the “party leader” leaves. The party leader is the person who enters the dungeon first and thus starts the run.

I agree that this system is quite lacking; I have booted my entire (guild) party once accidentally, because I wanted to log to another character (thought my guardian might contribute more to the group)… It needs to change to a system where the instance gets reassigned to another player when the leader leaves or is kicked.

With regards to the kicking system itself; it’s bizarre that 2 people (a minority) can decide to kick someone, but that’s a whole different issue.

Wow just checked my thread. For shame on a lot of assuming I have 0 experience with this game OR working together with people. That is the exact opposite and I am well aware of how to run a group(many raid leads in a game I wont mention here) and am extremely knowledgeable of EVERYTHING in the kittening dungeon. That does not mean it is still not stupidly difficult.

I come to you now fresh off another run with some great people. Minor hiccups here and there under my leadership. Yet we were stopped again at Ralena and Vassar boss fight. The illusionary mages that attack for 500 are near invisible and the rate at which our group remained confused (and as such taking 300 a tick for thinking about moving) was almost 100% uptime. This fight turned my smooth sailing well oiled-machine group into a babbling mess of death zergs and cries of WTFpwned

To all of you claiming this will be easy or it is easy for you while having sex with a panda with NO hands come try it with semi skilled players from 30-45(i.e. The levels this dungeon SHOULD CATER TO) and talk to me then.

Better drops huh? I guess you’re talking about rings and fractal weapons, because everything else is exactly the same drops at lv8 and lv 38, or 48. My last named 80 exotic (sold for 5.85g) was from a lv10 daily, so i guess too many are pretty illuded of this theory.
No doubt everyone loves lv30 agony res more than someone with an improper full MF set and lower AR res, you discovered the hot water i guess Clearly MF gear should not exists at all on this game, allowing it just with food, every problem would have been fixed, and none would complain about those leechers with underpowered performance. Again it’s up to you. Selling legendary on TP is expensive (due to listing fee) and a big risk in general. Not many ppl are able to buy item for few k gold. Also you can always be trolled by other ppl who can portentially sell their legendary for 1 less gold price.

The point of our “whines” is the absurd amount of gamble needed. If was something in the range of 100 attempt at worst, still was acceptable. 10.000+ is just pathetic like a slot machine attempting to cash out a casino. @Zogy, I don’t think the devs contradict each other. I’d say they gave us some more info, actually- “rare” boss with a chest, with either the chest or the boss being “LARGE”.
Also, no, I checked Arah story mode once again yesterday, keeping an eye on every minor detail, there’s nothing suggestive of Final Rest being there. Zhaitan’s Rest POI is also only accessible through path 4.

I did it the bs way the first time where you dps her while she is invisible. I did it again after that update with 5 glass cannons + 4-1 spark trick.

Look up the 4-1 spark trick. Have a glass cannon make the instance. Have the other 4 retrait to glass cannon with as much berserker gear as they have. I would have a party of at least one warrior for fgj/banner of disciple and one mesmer for time warp. Aside from that theifs/warriors/eles to fill out the group. Full burst damage with 5 glass cannons and 4-1 spark trick took her down the second try for us. We had 2 war, 1 theif, 1 mesmer, 1 ele. I don’t think the other professions would be as good and conditions are bad for this boss you just want full burst damage.

Curious, because i managed her with 3 dps (And a spit of a 4th , the guy near the entrance, an eng) with a formation composed by me condition necro half mm half wells (i had to remove 2 minions for wells and without the maxed dps i gained nowadays but still, i was maybe 13-20% lower than now), an ele, a guardian, 2 eng. And who was attacking her was me with minions , conditions and wells, the guardian and the ele. So, if you don’t mind “Sorry what?”
I’m available for arah to help , true veteran not using exploits/ skiprun/cheats to get his title and his fullset clearing efficently the entire path of the run. Until the group is formed accordingly to the requirements wrote by the OP expecially about attitude, feel free to call me as 5th if needed.

Which is one per daily, if lucky, so let me doubt everyone of you was so lucky to have found nearly 100 orbs(50,52,54…64,66..76..84 etc every par level is a revive orb x 3 agony attack) by a daily , but instead sometimes an orb (8 at best to the luckiest), sometimes other method exposed on this thread. Aka cheat..cut the crap with your revive orbs pretending innocence, we both knows how many revive orbs are needed from 50 to 84 and what cheats works to reduce their use like the immortal corner with just one outside with a crystal to attack maw and run back while others are perfectly safe killing the next enemy for a new crystal, or the ‘resetting fractals until the group get the 3 easiest fractal to pass the level’ method, water fractal then moss jumping on tree/ under the bridge and asura fractal using exploits (ettin exploit, now fixed, prefight position of gems on 2nd boss, kite the boss around the tower while other dps the golems). That’s a cheat, bro
I blame Anet not fixing something so pathetic (cheats) and greedy (rev orbs bough on gemstore) to give players the fun. We are not on the same ground as you see. I don’t cheat, i go to 49 and accept i cannot physically go over. You didn’t, thanks to Anet lazyness to fix bugs/exploits.

I am definitely working on the precursor scavenger hunt, but like others have said, things like this take time and I want to get it right. Not to mention, it’s not the only thing on my plate. Please do not expect to see the precursor scavenger hunt in the next patch. I may be awesome, but I am still only human and this is a fairly large amount of work to get done and done right.
