The problem we are seeing a lot of that is causing this, is that people are skipping mobs and rushing through things, and it breaks their scripts when the players activate something while the NPC is stuck in combat.
We try to find and fix scripts in those areas to decrease the chance of it happening though, so details about where and how the NPC broke, and what your group was doing (don’t fret about admitting to rushing or exploiting something) will help us in identifying and fixing the problem.

Well it’s a castle, full of doors. Just close doors until all adds are killed and the door keeper down, and guess, no need to rewrite npc scripts, the end of AC speedfarms.

Clearly clone is the wrong idea. Sadly, as Rozags wrote, it’s programmed on this senseless “it’s my story” base so i guess reprogram it with a bit of a sense would require too much effort to be improved to make us just forget to see it fixed.

The main reason instances behave this way is because of the personal story and how they allow other players to play alongside friends through it. Someone has to ‘own’ the personal story instance. Someone is progressing something.

They’ve taken this mechanic to dungeons in order to put players in movies and in order to progress ‘story’ mode. Notice how the dialogue scenes have the instance ‘owner’ in them. That’s why there has to be an owner.

I agree that they could have done it differently and it could be better, however we have no way of knowing how much more time, effort, and money it would have taken to make a separate instance structure for dungeons while keeping the ‘story’ mode feeling like part of the personal story..

Personal story? Interesting. So this would means the “leader” is the one “following” his storyline. So why every other member of the party get the storymode done, unlocking exp mode, what are they, leechers or inferior to who opened the istance, not part of the story? AS you see, what you pointed (correctly) as the technical reason, explain same time the senseless lack of design and programming choices. It would have made a sense if the other 4 players, joining the team, didn’t have story mode as completed. That would have been “my personal story, this is MY run, i have to be in the movie and leader of this group till the end or everyone is booted helping me” . Just to add, doing or not doing at all dungeons allow the player to complete “his personal story” perfectly. Actually, as you see, it’s just an idiocity requested from prelaunch and never fixed.

Simple answer: lack of design. Yes, there is just 1 kind weapon who can be mixed. Eternity.
In dev’s dreams of a sane game where players would never exploit / cheat it, eternity should have been seen maybe by 1 incredible player in an year or 2, instead we have lots of them, and ye, the only one who can be combined. Great game huh.

Yep, something is wrong on this weekly ability to get gathering mats and blue mats for 2000 attempts per week. Except (considering the rate of his precursors) he’s just having fun endless rich and when mats are needed, he buy them in stock and poof, more attempts, more money flow, rinse repeat.
Quite fun worthy players playing 12+ hours a day from prelaunch never saw a shadow of a precursors when players like him have 12+
And yes, that patch note was a fake, already posted as absolutely not realistic

Nope, the most common will be the senseless update where everyone can rejoin, so organized abusers will kick players at last boss of 3rd/maw fractal inviting guildies. 7 minutes, all dailies 8 10 20 30 40 done. Like dungeons’ abuse.

As bug, obiouvsly , players going inside splitted or moving to fractals no more together, duoing. Wanna bet?
QA and testers? WE are the testers of this funny post i wrote , and well, was truly online playing dungeons until a few days ago.

Sadly is perfecty understandable 2 hours. Sometimes (rarely) i unluckly join a lv8 or 10 daily with this kind of terrible players. Sometimes i just leave them, i don’t give a kitten to waste time with this kind of players. Not just their personal performance, add the fact they don’t know nothing about the content, don’t read or listen 1 single word you type on chat explaining what is going on, or how to do things faster/efficently. Shortly, pray on your luck if your runs are pug based, learn the content, at least you will not be an other carried player, later.

We repeated billion times to never run a dungeon and immediately after the reset timer (5 pm servertime) 2 more. You hit the DR. Spread your runs on a way longer and larger timespan during your gametime (if possible). Rush to get all your tokens now equals to waste time for less rewards, enjoy the DR.

Dungeons

Dungeons now award karma on completion. The first-time karma reward for completing the story of a dungeon is larger than subsequent story runs. The first time per day a player completes an explorable path for a dungeon, the karma reward equals (Player Level) * 23.5. For the rest of the day, subsequent runs of the same path will reward karma equal to (Player Level) * 9.5.

No well, they have 2 clients. One is with debug menu, /.kill commands, invisible commands so noone see you etc, one is normal client. Devs, QA and other employee sometimes use normal client acting if they was normal players. Except noone of them complains about crappy lootsystem, unrewarding grinding game, etc (they love to keep their seat until last , considering the recent internal troubles )

I know, for the actual stage of fractals, offensive or defensive is just a matter of which infusion craft/buy, noone care, some whine because their particular infusion is 20g+ expensive at best. Will be more clear later, on future update of ascended gear, and weapons+armor ascended. Still, as you see, noone talk about soothing infusion, and how important it is

Totally agree, seems more 1 talented graphic engine designer (sorta of, considering highend 300 bucks GPU handle the game at 40 fps when in LA, 60 fps into dungeons at best with most high end graphic card and systems i7 included) surrounded of middle way IT students programming a cheap badly done game, and a gambler who took care of mystic forge.

Thats what the game was advertised with but still there are classes that cant take one of the roles. while almost every class can dps rather good (some got more burst, some more continues dmg) not everyone can take the role of a tank or healer.

True, classes are slowly coming back. But noone here seems talking about a particular infusion, who guess, make a big difference about the thread’s topic: soothing infusion

We are at geargrind stage yet, there is nothing to be earned back for a gw1 player who believed their statements when we bough the game to justify a log back except bored if you didn’t lost somewhere you password, for big events, when back+rings are done. Not willing to be a betatester for that much more than until i find the last ring i need. Even the fotm only guild i joined is poor of players, and with nor representing people. I had to join them leaving FOUR guilds, totally empty all the day and night from days and days.
If someone is gonna plan to answer " well no subs, you can log later", there are other f2p mmos online yet, one is new too and way more fun.

I can answer with a simple question: did you wonder why there are 2 classes: offensive and defensive? Roles. Not not so much visible now playing fractals, they will be more pushy later, expecially when new gear is online (weapon/armor ascended)
For example soothing infusion (defensive/omni) has +5 and % agony resistance. He will survive way more than one with malign, who is doing the dps. Kinda of trinity model, soon back online to complete the clone model. Clearly, who use def with % res is who has to survive, like a tank/healer, but the kind of gameplay zerging around skills senseless and without any form of real teamwork will be kept. The % guy is the one who rev.

If it is any consolation I am on scale 22 and have accrued over1600 fractal tokens and not yet gotten a ring either. It is RNG with the Jade Maw.

We are exploring alternatives to the current system.

NO ITS NOT. This shouldn’t have been like this in the first place!!!!! Proper QA would have shown that the RNG SUCKS! Not surprised after seeing the dungeons in this game especially CoF.

On an badly programmed RNG system based game, what are you surprised of? I met a lot doing the lv10 daily who still dream to get one, and sometimes they have one, except absolutely not their stats, or a mf one.

PLEASE Remove the magic find stat from dungeons all together, it rewards you for being selfish and hurts you for gearing correctly

Mostly, all MF sets and weapons should never even existed at all from beginning. MF with food, fine, leaving the player to wear a proper armor, not a leeching one.

Not a big task, when you know how to cheat maw, because actually you cannot even survive a lv50 run not instawiped with ingame def. An example? Revive orbs. Gem store, obiouvsly, or random lucky reward. Than safe spot cheat, one goes out with stone hitting maw , rinse repeat. Others too. Organize the cheat of the day, and everything is done on this game. And no, the loot doesn’t increase, you get the same exact trash at 50+ than at 1. Blue green trash, sometimes a rare, if very lucky an exo, if it’s your day. One in a million, a fractal weapon from maw chest. No more or less than doing the lv20 daily
Just curious: is a team of koreans playing, or a random pug (i doubt)?
I’m used to see koreans on top of every game, best videogame players worldwide

Well, we have dungeon master yet, and a bar filling as completed when story+all exp are done. The extra stage would give a sense to even do story+exp all paths to the player, but this is design. Something lacking here, most who don’t care of a dungeon if not for a particular task, don’t even waste time for story, let’s not mention exp. Lore talking “Why would i? Do i have a reason to do all paths? Something change maybe, do i have a reason to do it? Nah, let’s do the easier, token done, move out, ask that guy if he did story when you invite him”

Cliffside Fractal final boss Broken

Just to report, often every member is caged, making the entire fractal struck. We simply wasted our time, to disband at 3rd fractal because of unplayability.
And if a wipe occurs, if 1 player survive out of combat not aggroing, others have the time to go back, the fight is struck with all adds up and boss waiting to be hit and the fight completed. OR more funny, kite the boss to the balcony, no need to deal with adds (they wait on main room) except when hammer pops, then sometimes she just goes struck, pwn her until next phase and it’s done. Nice AI, deffo.

Official Response: Drop Rate of Legendary Precursors

It’s funny how Arenanet promoted their game as a ‘not grinding’ MMO, infact I never grinded so much in an MMO. This game is just not rewarding enough. It’s frustrating that nice items require always a full stack and that those materials have an extreme low droprate. Aswell most mobs that don’t drop anything when beining killed.

You are the one who decided to grind for the Legendary. They said that you don’t have to grind for getting your max armor/weapon, which is true. If you want to grind for the legendary is your own decision. I’ll have mine playing normally… if I can have mine for next summer, that’s perfect for me; and if I cannot, then I’ll try again for next winter. I don’t want to grind, so I’m not doing it.

Grind on a longer span doesn’t make the grind less grind. It’s just a psychological way to see it like “You’re grinding, i’m not”. You are too, just slower, taking your time, but at the end, you’re not doing anything different than any other, from precursor to the final craft.
Shortly, this game is a fail , a gamble and cheat-the-system-before-nerfed based on every aspect, there are available (luckly) way more games now (mmos too) , and soon more coming, way more worthy.
I’ll get the second ring i need from fractal sooner or later, than, why play more, i got everything i needed, and not so idiot to turn myself to a gambler for precursors. Every single rare i get is turned to ectos. Profit, no gamble.
I posted a simple way to turn the entire idocity of this actual legendary system not even spending (as dev) more than a weekend to make it done and online. Do you think they will read it and improve in in a weekend? Nah. Shrugs, we have something else to do than gamble, anet, sorry You got our 80 bucks for deluxe edition to make us play for 3 months, cool, first and last. I’ll log for main events ( christmas and next halloween) i promise

There is not purpose at all to exploit it following my post. It’s a personal achievement, reward is in a mail soulbound and for legendary only, you cheat yourself, you don’t abuse of the system nor other people’s money nor anything requiring cheats.
I guess they gave the legendary design to the wrong hands from beginning.

Thats why i suggested the end of the grind and exploits. “following the tutorial” , yes. With “used to craft legendaries” only mats not resellable – reusable.
But requiring a LONG, long, hard to complete, amazing and fun, beautiful sequence of things to do. Nothing to give a legendary after 20 hours, nor 200. A “bit of effort” is what we need. If so fond even work on 5 of them for your char and 5 more for your alt. A legendary path leading to a great reward. I still think Anet abused a bit of the word legendary about those weapons. They don’t have NOTHING to be legendary at all on playerside more than abuse of the system a bit before the nerf is online, and most are even crap about skin and effects. What are they, beta legendaries?

Sorry to tell you, but underwater on this game is not so beloved nor popular, less we have , less complains about not requested content we will read.

And yes, sorrry but i don’t waste weeks and weeks and mats and mats for a value most casual can barely dream for 2 minute if i’m on a fractal, and i have to stop to fight. move the camera and zoom the weapon to remember myself i made that idiot weapon instead of many other cool ones, using similar mats. Not the 100th twilight, nor this useless crap for sure.

Yup, most are like you Oranisagu, i should say 99% of the playerbase is enough bored of the RGN+grind even when he get his precursor. My idea is exploit-proof, uberfun, not hard to be implemented at all (everything ingame is used), a real big, enjoyable, incredible adventure to be worthy to wield a legendary not receiving some laugh on your back or people commenting “3 legendaries? Oh pfff, a cheater, or goldseller made a discount?”

The point was neither him can enjoy his own so hard worked legendary if not for a few minutes of fractals or playing hotw all the day just for the sake to give himself a justification of his weapon and he owns one. I mean, he maybe like that weapon, no doubt. But gw2 at the current stage doesn’t justify at all to spend so many resources for… that thing. Just to add, hotw having or not having his weapon doesn’t change a bit the results on 2 paths where there is a bit of underwater, even when will be updated as ascended , nor 3 minutes fighting the beginning of underswater fractals , the boss fight is kite him to the light, not surely based on his weapon and people jelous of him haha

I anticipate that there will be a largely underwater expansion in the future, so he may yet get a lot more mileage out of his legendary. That said, it doesn’t hurt you for him to enjoy his underwater legendary, so perhaps you should lay off a bit. Not everyone makes a legendary to show it off; sometimes it’s more for personal edification and the sense of achievement.

Largely underwater expansion. On which future, how far? Because the update slowly hints appears to me more ring of fire, than an underwater section. And well, fire and water doesn’t sound so much compatible to me No doesn’t hurt me at all, i guess he’s proud of it, and sometimes even alone when water is near his feet he happily smile “Yay water, my uberexpensive legendary wielded to kill a fish and get a scale hitting him harder now is updated like an ascended than with my exotic underwater weapon” Erm..

Good for him if he crafted a legendary spending weeks of karma , work hard, mats over mats (assuming he didn’t use the cheats i prefectly explained on an other thread ) for the sake of have a legendary achievement done on login screen. I understood fantasy mmos , expecially this one so much fashonistas-based, was “i work hard for that legendary and kitten i’ll be so proud to wield one”. (Guess why i’m so proud of my arah fullset not exploited mastering the hardest longer content in-game )
About this weapons the question is “Erm… when..? Ah right, hotw, lemme group with my buddies” “No sorry i’m busy, i have to do fractals. Come, maybe we have the underwater one oke ^^’ ?”

Totally irrelevant and childish to bring that up. But since you asked: you bought the game and you got the game. They are not obliged to bring you any content updates, and not even bug fixes.

Childish? I buy a product to have a result. If the company doesn’t give to his product any update or fix or bug , is a fail. And guess, the customer pretends back his money and the company refund you. Except if the company is doing a fraud, escaping with the cash

Oh me too, because looking how beautiful the game is (graphically talking) , seems they got some talented devs as employee. Nothing alien, nor alien/elite human was who programmed other great mmos who made their name in the hystory of mmos. So, why not?

That’s my point, there is no need to “design” nothing at all, just use the current content, giving a purpose to go there, do that, bring this to him/her. No, no need to program their boring static dialogues with your char chitchatting i skipped entirely on my storyline. Just simple dialogues with a balloon, and a long mail explaining the lore and what you did, with the reward. For example “250 ectos” “x lodestone”

Yes it is because currently there is no scavenger hunt at all in this game, so a design from 0 is required.

As explained, it’s a couple of balloons, nothing new to program at all, just use some “dead” npc around the world, we have so many of them camping there doing nothing, sometimes not even a dialogue except a hallo

Nothing wierd. The 250 ectos as reward are different from normal ectos. They are soulbound ( or accountbound before someone complain about it too) with a text “Used to craft legendary weapons”. Guess what, no exploits nor being rich abusing of the system No new design, no duplicates, just one more item in the database with the text, a block of 250 ectos not splittable/resellable/usable for any other purpose than your legendary weapon. More space in the bag? I understood who was so fond to wield a legendary was even ready to deal with 20 slot bags, some bank slots (gemstore, anet interests ) to be prepared to afford a great long, “cumbersome” adventure.

playing the scavenger hunt, is it maybe something so incredibly hard to program? After 7 years, and gw1 experience, noone have a clue on their team how to deal with something like this?

Again, completely missing the point. It is not about the programming it’s mainly about the design. Yes, it is a moderate amount of coding work depending on how it will be implemented, but that won’t be anything special for the developers.

As explained, no need to design a spit of nothing except a couple of ballons and existing mats marked as “Used for legendary weapons” Guess, this kind of “path” doesn’t require more than a weekend to be ready and online for every single legendary weapon, nor requiring any special unique talended alien dev from mars or the moon

If the system is implemented as i explained, a path, everything soulbound, mats too, no exploit at all. Do this, go there, bring this to him. 250 ectos needed for future legendary, soulbound not reusable/resellable for no other purpose than legendary craft as reward. With a comment “Used to craft legendary weapons”. Then the same with lode/any other mat etc. As you see, the currently existing content is untouched, using content and npc currently online and “dead” (npc just there, we have loads of them around the world) a matter of a tiny patch, just “tagged” appropriately to be a big, long, beautiful adventure for who is so fond and worthy to wield a legendary weapon. Not just a stupid cheater who abused of the system, as i perfectly explained yet.

The point was how senseless is from day1 the precursors and legendaries as BoE.
IF they was soulbound from pre launch ( or just patched in time before all i wrote was possible) now the game would have been so much different.
Still, if finally they will be soulbound with a future patch, something can still be saved. But ye, we cannot get rid of some uberrich players who abused of the system.
Sadly, most of what i wrote is still possible, not everything disappeared. Some is even easier, like karma or shards or ectos.
We all know how good would be this game if they just disappear from the TP as soulbound. We will see a patch about it? Uhm..

DR didn’t exists. (pro karma farmers should be well aware of the method to reset the DR and back, right? )
And i said all the time he used boosters all the time for every task.
Guess he was a bit more than 100k, didn’t ask. Oh, i said a weekend, not 2 days. 3 days, friday, saturday sunday. Try the math again. Guess was lucky days loads of people was doing DE farm, who knows There is no way he could’ve made 100%? when i said he did a perfect strike with 525k karma..?

Sure, i don’t care of him too. But don’t be surprised if “mortals” wonder why T6 mats have that so high price, whine around about how some weapons or other stuff are so unreachable, what is going on on the TP

As i said, precursors and legendaries must be updated as soulbound and every weapon on tp removed (clearly the owner who put them must be able to reclaim them going to talk with NPC). Ah right, guess some will whine about the money lost for the fee putting that price.. now guess who are they..
If well planned, the owner will find his precursor able to be reclaimed, with fee refunded. Just a matter of send a couple Anet emplyee to take care of it, do a formal statement about the change and open to refund the fee. Argh wait.. wrong game?

Maybe i’m wrong, but you wrote, accordingly to your math 221*2=442k karma. Of 525k. Yess, mystic clovers adds the amount a bit more because of the lucky strike. Which you know, sometimes doesn’t need 1mil, sometimes luck strike your back and you get everything soon. A hint, do the 1, not the 10 attempt

Oh just to add: did i mention on my post he did map completition with karma booster+karma banner all the time? Hearts gives karma. Boosted. Plus special events in the middle. When he was at the “let’s do the karma farm” he wasn’t for sure from 0, nor me when i tried his method.
Which you will agree, playing as explained (and detailed now) , well, it wasn’t that much hard task

p.s. 1500g was weeks ago, before the lost shores event farm. Now he’s way more rich hehe

that example is pretty unrealistic lol…..3 days at phlinx only? so u know for that to even be possible he would have had to have been at phlinx for literally 20-23 hours a day and not experience diminishing returns and always be at every single event on time all the time…………..lol k. if someone had the stamina balls and concentration and no other responsibility to do that then id say they deserve it.
- do you know how many tokens u get from a lv1 toon? lol….assuming some how he magically got 4 tokens every time (improbable) tht would mean for 20 straight hours no enemies showed up there and just 1 shotted him and that’s assuming it only took him 5min to finish it…. i need to find this magic server where this is possible. and even if it was this person is already " *grinding*" more than i would at any given moment.

not to mention have like i said over 300 skill points….. while tht might not be hard it still takes time.

also maybe some ppl exploited to get their legendary but dont say 99% did because that is not true, i know alot of ppl who did not…godskull was not the only way to be omni rich,…at the time the trading post was literally a gold mine….

in the end what difference does it make? if someone goes through the trouble of attaining a legendary they should be able to do w/e they want with it. its not like you are going to buy one anyways. if someone wants to throw their life savings away let them. instead there should be a visible title like world completion for creating a legendary out of the forge.. that way you know who bought their legendary and who made it.

Unrealistic? I tried his method, karma banner+karma booster, all DE tagged + grenth etc for 2 days. I had 70% of the karma needed for a legendary.
Yes, playing most of the day (12 -13 hours), not 24 hours straight at all, just a weekend of fun. Commitment, you know?
Just to add, my ex guildleader was one of the friend farming with him, as felony.
They truly farmed for a weekend and done. I, trying, can confirm. Worked.
Yes, i know very well how many badges a lv1/2 get opening the chest , as i said, is a matter of hours. Hey, speedbooster running to the chest, passing badges, and deleting is not that hard or long to do
And no, no enemies, the server was total pwness leading the entire wvw.
World complete? Ye he did during 1st week from prelaunch, playing smartly and fast,+craft + xp boosters + craft booster (fun, he found all boosters needed just opening 5 chests, keys dropped just to add, so fun huh) , he was soon 80 able to deal with all the map completition.
And dungeons, hehe. Smart guy with smart friends supporting him. They have their legendary too
Skillpoint? Xp booster + crafting booster (growing rapidly to 80 as explained) , skillpoint completing the map etc. As said, just a matter of a few days of work.
Then yes, the goldmine you mentioned. End of the story, he’s the “what i do today? Oh wait, i can ruin that gw2 lodestone price a bit and back to play halo 4 haha yeah. Lemme check the price of precursors, maybe i can grow em up of 100g more before logoff. Crap, noone sell legendaries, i should have crafted one and sell, doubling my pocket, poor stupid kids, they dream to be able to buy one”
I asked him if he was truly able to craft and sell a legendary on demand, the answer was “sure why not?”. I made this question to him 2 days ago, he added " Now we have vials +karma from dungeons etc, i don’t even need to do the DE farm anymore, easier life for mess the TP, deffo. Shards are even available doing fractals, i don’t need balthazar done anymore. I’m just waiting the marketing of legendaries on sale, then yeah, you will laugh looking how i will rise the price of everything of double/triple haha. Bro, buy x and x, it’s what i will ruin next week. Profit"

Nothing wrong, he was smart, and you will agree, 99% just made the same/similar cheating way. Not a player’s fault or shameful players. The fail, is the design at all.
Making precursors and legendary resellable instead of soulbound from beginning.
Guess, loads complained about it from weeks and weeks. Clearly, who was growing his pocket was well aware to post around “Everything is fine, don’t touch it”

p.s. oh i forgot to mention how fun is craft Eternity and get Eternity+ Sunrise again, fancy bug he passed me, haha, he gave the free sunrise to his buddy for fun , idk about eternity i guess he’s waiting to sell it for an extreme price

(oh yes, i have found even a video as proof of this bug, if someone is gonna attempt to post " i have eternity and it’s a lie" No idea if fixed, as much i know it isn’t)
