TL;DR: BGna needs to stop hiding behind walls, AC’s, excuses and other timezones and come fight us. Ragelogging after a single wipe will only steepen the learning curve.

Well, we were out last night in EB, roaming between QL, SM and Durios and had tons of open field engagements. Pryan (I think that was him) showed up a couple of times with a huge float group, and even moved to Green side of the map once or twice where we engaged above Klovan and once at the supply camp, but then vanished. Since Valley supply went from 800 to almost empty in a flash, I guess his main goal was ferrying supply to another map. Just saying, making broad generalized statements about hiding behind walls and rage logging is off the mark.

The last time KnT faced TW in a stand-up battle was in t2.
On you server, 2 guilds come back: Onslaught and Rise.
DO you know why we went 11 rounds against RG? Because THEY had enough.
We’d have kept going till we figured it out, THAT is how you improve.

If the rest of your server had followed Rise’s example all this time, you wouldn’t be referencing Pryan’s late night random force. You’d be talking about defeating organized guilds. I mention this because it’s been glaring the last 2 days on BGbl, literally a parade of BG headliners. For one wipe a piece..

The only game I ever played where there was an “all call” was DAoC. I remember many a time when Albion spooled up a relic raid, and the call was sent out, and people logged in specifically to counter said raid. GW2 WvW doesn’t hold a candle to anything DAoC offered, and I’d be surprised if anyone anywhere, held “all calls”.

I only recently started following the match up threads, and I kind of wish I didn’t. All this crying and whining from all three servers. For kitten’s sake, get everyone together, and write some sort of Server charter stating what’s fair and what’s not, so everyone will stop accusing each other over petty crap.

Jscull all three servers have small ops groups and all three zerg. BG and SoR zerg harder than JQ because they have more numbers. One of the small ops groups that I normally run with is DR they are awesome. On blackgate i also know of Riot and LAW.

Great fights this week. I swear these last few weeks have been awesome. Such close PPT between SoR and BG its awesome.

@ JQ I think you guys are great and I’ve watched you guys evolve overtime since SoS/JQ etc etc. I have noticed your home BL lately has been flipping every color even during NA.

But to be fair the only server that that doesn’t happen to is SoR during NA and that’s because TW on the home map is Godly. Mad props to TW. One day I hope to collect a lot of dem TW bags!

Ok with all the RG talk I would like to interject that KnT has had the opportunity to fight them not GVG but open field on many occasions, on both of their visits to NA tier 1. Just because you don’t GVG them doesn’t mean tha your a crap guild. Believe me we have fought them more times than some of you have GVGed them. Matter of fact I think they have a video of about the nastiest 3 way fight you’ll ever see in GW 2 between us RG and VOTF in the dredge tunnel in EB. But just because we don’t GVG doesn’t mean that we didn’t seek out fights with them.

And another thing , for all the SOR players saying BGs NA is weak, it may no be our strongest time slot, but we have plenty of guilds in that time that you have a ton of trouble facing. So yeah we has a strong oceanic group but I’m tired of you saying BGs NA is crap. If hats the case then the rest of SORs guilds that don’t play prime time NA are also, well terrible. Even though that’s not true, that’s what SOR would have you believe about BGs NA. Get over yourselves.

PLUM, VNG, CAPS, BMS are all havoc as well. And prove that BGs NA isn’t comprised of weak, fickle, fair-weather players.

Pretty sure all those guilds you listed have spent a ton of time in WvW win or lose I know me being the leader of OnS have spent a kittened amount of time out in WvW doesnt matter if we are losing or not I come for the enjoyment of WvW not the PPT. I’ve also coordinated with a lot of those guilds and know they are not fair weathers. I feel you guys are being disrespectful to your competition. That’s on both sides of the fence too not just SoR hating on BG but BG hating on SoR too. As for “weak” goes? I guess that’s a matter of opinion and who is fighting who on what front.

My point of the matter is we’ve been in this match up for way to long to keep bashing the same things over and over again. I look at other match ups and its nothing like this. I fought a lot of these guilds since the game came out and some of you were even allies. I’d prefer not to kitten talk so kitten much and play the kitten game. It’s not bad to admit when you kittened up or got wiped just say GG well played and move the hell on.. both servers zerg too this is freaken T1 get over it.

I was commanding during reset on JQ BL and it was tough for sure. I’m not one to cry about 2v1 because I understand why it happens. I just want to say BRING IT Sanctum of Quarry! JKJK. I don’t care who wins just as long as the “big 3” keep trying. kitten coverage just get out there and have good fights.

There seem to be very pronounced differences between the T1 NA meta, and the T1 EU meta— including things related to GvG it seems — to state the obvious. That said, when RG vacationed on JQ for that week, we all learned so much, and the knowledge spread… therefore changing the meta to try and match what was going on over there. To be honest, EU players looking at T1 NA and thinking “It’s not the same, wahh!” are likely correct, but it’s never going to change unless we have some folks come along and help us change it. This is one of the eternal problems, when a server is attempting to recruit folks over to NA.

When RG and VoTF came to NA those were some of the best times I had in WvW. Mind blowing and eye opening. Mad props to those two guilds. They for sure changed the T1 NA meta.

I’m sorry to say this. The tier systems purpose isn’t to be hierarchical. Servers in T1 have had typically the most consistently balanced matchups because there is no where else for severs to go but down.

The servers that stay at the top all have the most competitive WvW and you don’t find blowouts like you do in the lower tiers. Where a server is too strong for the lower tier but too weak for the higher.

Word. Even if JQ has a 40k 50k lead by Friday its nothing compared to lower tiers. I guess I should be looking at the bigger bigger picture which is. JQ, SOS, SOR, BG, have it better than most other servers.

There were weeks on end where I felt the same way with SoS, before we had our recruitment. Entire borderlands taken when I get on. But I just kept on fighting, like the rest of JQ.

I mean I’m pretty sure before the mega transfers to servers when SOS was winning the matches were very close. The only match that seemed to be a blow out was like the very first tier 1 match up SOS entered. You sorta missed my point as well. I said if this continues and I didn’t say I would stop fighting…. I will never stop fighting till I get burnt out of the game. You’ll see me and my guild + my alliance out there leading everyday. And as you said you felt the same way with SOS… SO expect us to feel that way when its worst off that’s all.

Well looking at millenium scores you are stuck with us in t5 with the same match up, unless you pick up your slack and stop QQing on forums and instead kick some more of our butts on the battlefield.

This is what happens when you make WvW a 24/7 event. You and your guild may give your 110% during 5-8 hours a night, but in reality you’re only covering a 1/3rd of the daily spectrum.

Right now WvW isn’t won by skills or numbers, but who has the best coverage and that’s what sucks about it.

You’re correct on that. I don’t just look at 1/3 of the spectrum, I look at the entire thing. What keeps me playing these games is the community, servers and guilds mostly. If it weren’t for them I’d get bored quicker and I’d resort to something like starcraft 2 where the skillcap is higher.

This is what you should already be doing. if you are playing for the scoreboard you will find yourself leaving the game. Enjoy the fighting for what it is. It’s a game. The minute you become so wrapped up in scoreboard and become stressed over it is the moment you need to walk away and get a grip on things that really matter.

You see man while this is a good way of looking at it, people play games for different reasons. I’m not saying I’m stressed out about it too, but I’m pretty sure some of my fellow SOS mates are and you can’t deny that. What is going on doesn’t matter if I’m playing the scoreboard or not. What I said isn’t a healthy trend for SOS. I sure many of you know this just look at all the servers that took major hits from transfers. Me being a leader I see the moralization first hand when I walk out during these times and when I see people talking about it. So it’s not so much the scoreboard, but its the server moral going down the kittenter when it happens and I hope SOS wont get to this point.

All of us who fought against you from Maguuma and Dragonbrand last week predicted that there would be a schism between your NA and Oceanic presence that would slowly devolve into mudslinging and ultimately a server split. While we would like to enjoy some schadenfreude watching this play out over the next week, for the sake of every server’s WvW balance, please don’t act like PRX did in their post a few pages back. We don’t want to encourage another server split that is just going to jumble up the rankings yet again.

Well then you’ll be happy to know that this isn’t going to happen. If anything this will make us stronger- look at the map. We no doubt expect things to be rough for everyone to settle in their new homes and despite what it looks like from outside, from the inside Sea of Sorrows is still a way better server than dragonbrand k thx.

Why the hell are you guys taking this debate to a public forum for us the be a mockery to all GW2 servers. We have a server forum for a reason use it. This kitten is embarrassing and while PRX’s message was meant to stir up some organization I think it also put some dismay in our Oceanic counterparts. No doubt both Oceanic and NA SoS have things to work out but lets not do it on the public forums.

I think one of the reasons that we at Dragonbrand were initially very angry over having several of our large guilds transfer to another server was that they ended up transfering to the server that we are facing this round. That left us with a large disadvantage and simultaneously gave our opponent SoS an increased advantage. We also ended up seeing several of the guildmembers that we came to like and enjoy playing with turn “red” (green clothes/ red name). It’s therefore like a slap in the face.
Also, we have had some good battles over the past few days, and I am excited to see so many in the community step up and take on a leading role on Dragonbrand. We are doing everything we can to rebound, and that is very encouraging.
My question to the guilds that transferred to SoS from Dragonbrand is this: did you know or anticipate that Dragonbrand would be in the same tear as you during this matchup? If that is the case, then the move really does seem spiteful. If, however, it was just a coincidence that the server you chose based on other criteria (strong Oceanic presence from what I can tell from this forum) that we were matched together, then I will try to get over my sense of feeling betrayed.
I wish everybody the best, but at the same time I would like to reiterate that many of us on Dragonbrand were hurt by those guilds transferring away and I think reasonably so.

We choose a server based on oceanic presence, community, and population. We did do a kitten ton of research and we knew before hand we’d be fighting you in the next match up. All of the leaders that moved watch the server rankings and listings all the time so we have a solid idea on who is where and what we will be fighting next.

Hi Guys . I just want to say I had fun fighting both DB and MAG on Friday. Sorry for the imbalance. SOS wont be fighting you guys again anytime soon. I’m pretty sure Arena-net wants the players to balance themselves out. When the players do so, more than likely the top tiers will be WvW powerhouses(24/7 coverage) and the more you move down the ladder the more the server becomes less of a WvW power. We moved from Dragonbrand not because we were losing but because we were investing high amounts of time playing like 12+ hours a night and lots of gold on upgrades only to go to sleep and have everything lost. I understand that a lot of servers have this very same issue with night capping and oceanic guilds/servers however, it seems like it’s up to the individual players and guilds to fix this issue while Arena-net allows us to so we can maximize our gaming experience. I have nothing against Dragonbrand or the people who play there. We choose SOS because of the oceanic presence as most of you know. The DB guilds that transferred are very coordinated and we’ve been on a mission to further improve ourselves regardless of our server. I think we have tried our best both on DB and SOS to improve the community. I think everyone should play to have fun and not cause so much drama over a simple game mechanic. The games been out for what 2 months? I will not debate any of you on this matter BTW just giving my input and letting you guys know how we are thinking.
