They know about the problem of ‘instance ownership’ and have been looking into solutions to the problem for a while now. Hopefully, one day, a fix will come along.
Why doesn’t my alt get credit for the vistas and map completion that I’ve done on my main? How come I can’t port to Orr with my low level Alt if I’ve already completed 100% map with my main? (Sarcasm)
I suspect the reason a lot of people want this is so they can get higher level dailies on all their alts. If they were to account bound your fractal progress, it would also be a likely possibility that means account bound fractal dailies.
How useful would account bound fractal level be if you could only do one fractal daily (per tier) per account a day? It would help a few people out, but I would guess that lots of others would not welcome that change.
I have always found that diverse parties made up of five different classes seem to offer the best rounded experience in a dungeon. There may be other parties that can do the content faster, but to do the content at a good pace and as designed a diverse party is wonderful.
Nothing worse than MFing some major runes, to see that Superior Rune pop up and get excited, only to realize it really isn’t worth it’s vendor value.
Facepalm.
The only ones who can offer you the confirmation you are looking for are Devs. And good luck to you, but I really don’t think they are going to respond to that because history tells us that is unlikely.
I wish there were items that we still haven’t found. There are the MF craftable Lyss and Ilya pistols. Both are so-so really. It would be awesome if they were somehow combined into a ‘Lyssa’ pistol, but alas data mining has shown this object does not exist.
Sadly, rifles and pistols in particular are very poorly represented with MF recipes and skins in general.
Your initial question seemed to be asking if other weapon skins existed that we have not discovered. Unfortunately, thanks to data mining, there are no additional skins that have not been discovered. We would know of their existance even if we didn’t know how to obtain it. Take the Final Rest for example. Not a MF item, but we know of it’s existance but do not know where to acquire it.
There MAY however be particular recipes for certain items that have yet to be discovered. But unfortunately, certain classes of items like rifles remain vastly underrepresented.
Joined a random party for AC last night. There were 3 of us engineers there! Amazing.
AC more like Fractals? NOOOOOOOOO!!
The infused versions are listed on gw2db.com so they are in the game. The recipes are just not active yet, obviously.
I wouldn’t put an expensive upgrade into those slots until after you infuse the amulet (if you ever plan on infusing it) because you will lose your upgrade.
Hopefully, with the next patch will come the recipes.
Off topic note, Maw targeting pets and rangers is useful for low level newbie parties. This helps by them some time. Beyond that, it just prolongs the event. I will summon my wolf and drop a turret if the party I am with keeps going down due to not enough AR and I need a little pressure relief. Otherwise, speed it up!
On topic, I do not agree with the account bound fractal levels. My opinion though.
I understand it gets boring running the same content on Alts, but nobody if forcing you to do that. If you only want to do the content once, only do it once. If you find it interesting, run it on multiple Alts and level them up like you do your main.
The no sympathy policy is in effect for people who like to switch to alts.
Wow.
So, unless someone comes on here and says they agree with you and there are tons of unknown recipes you are just going to be a little ‘hostile’ when people answer your question?
You have the answer to your question, from multiple people in the community. Take it or leave it.
^ Unfortunately, this is true. If they existed, we would at least know of their existance though we might not know the recipe.
I know how things work.
Evidentally, you do also. That is why you are switching your character out to manipulate the system to get better rewards than you are entitled to.
Kudos to you. You have found a loophole in the system and are an exploiter. Don’t come here and complain if you miss out on your ‘well deserved’ rewards.
I’ll leave my sympathy for the people that are actually missing out on their hard earned rewards.
You should realize most are doing fractals lower than their actual frac level for daily chest for a chance of skins.
Doesn’t this statement really only apply to level 26+ fractal runs?
I’ll do a level 10 daily for the chest and loot and love to kill all the adds. Someone in party almost always gets something nice, even if it isn’t me.
Oh, and if your ALT is only Fractal level 21, then your reward would have been tiered down to level 21 regardless of whether or not you were doing a level 38 fractal. That is kind of pointless, tbh.
Which is why this post is discussing the possibility of making account wide character progress.
Um, as coy as you are trying to be, this post is not about discussing the possibility of account wide rewards/character progress.
That discussion would not involve talk about server updates.
Not an issue if you are not trying to switch characters and receive rewards on a character that did not participate in the dungeon.
Your rewards were ‘denied’ because you are trying to manipulate the system for your benefit.
I find a ‘diverse’ party to be the best and most fun to play with. Too many of any one class and the run may go smooth and fast, but just doesn’t seem as fun. Everyone tends to bring a different skill set to the table and I enjoy a well rounded party.
I’ve played in a party as an engineer with 4 warriors. They facerolled everything, but their method of doing so made me feel so unproductive. I couldn’t facetank everything like they did. I contributed, sure, but the method in which we proceded was vastly different than if the party was a different composition.
I’d have to say, if specced right, the engineer does better condition damage than a necro.
But, as a whole, the engineer is lacking behind just about every class out there. Really does seem to be a broken class. They are not as ‘versatile’ as they are advertised to be. And they are gimped because of this ‘versatility’.
What I find really funny is that so many hate on MF gear, but say that MF food buffs are ok. That player could be using a more ‘party’ useful food buff to help the team out, but there is not much complaint about that.
Like someone said, the difference between Knight’s gear and Explorer’s gear is the main stat.. toughness vs MF. That extra toughness is not going to kill a boss 30% quicker. If the player isn’t dying, the extra toughness isn’t going to help a whole lot.
Trust me, that guy that died 3x in the first room of the dungeon would die 3x in the first room of the dungeon if he wasn’t wearing MF gear. Sometimes it’s just the skill factor and the player himself.
That one extra stat on his gear would not have tipped the scales in his favor to make him a productive member of the team.
Oh, and there may already be recipes for infusing the amulets in the mystic forge. People just have to get enough laurels to purchase the amulets to find out. I’m hoping.
Those fine infusions are not worth it, imho. Using precision as an example, it takes an additional 21 points of precision if you are level 80 to gain an additional 1% critical chance. That extra +5 precision doesn’t amount to much.
Supposedly, versatile simple infusions will work in offensive, defensive, or utility slots.
So yes, they should work. But I don’t think anyone has been able to verify this. Yet.
Another MF hate thread.
Really, it’s more about the person’s skill than their missing stat. I don’t care how bad a person is, that extra stat isn’t going to miraculously make them play better and be a bigger asset to the team.
I know people who could run a dungeon w/o any armor and wouldn’t hinder a team one bit. They are just that good.
Quit complaining about stats, start focusing on the real issue.. the quality of the player.
The laurel vendors offer basic versions as opposed to the fine versions.
Fine precise infusion grants +5 precision, +5 AR.
Basic precise infusion grants +4 precision.
So NO, the laurel vendor infusions do not contain AR.
I believe the ascended amulets are 30 laurels and rings are 35 laurels.
You will get 2 rare items from that box. With a chance for an exotic in place of one of the rares.
Theoretically, this means a chance at a precursor. But I haven’t heard of anyone getting one and I wouldn’t count on it.
You have to decide if that is worth it to you.
I believe it will return you as soon as it gets a third vote in favor. You will usually not see the third vote register.
You will never know the answer to your above questions. They will never give out that information.
I’m fine with FC. But it IS supposed to be one of the lower pop servers. I haven’t seen the crowds on servers like JQ or TC, but there are still quite a few people farming on FC. Just a FYI for anyone looking to guest elsewhere.
Could always be an inadvertent nerf. I mean, I heard the last update was just a maintenance update for the launcher. Boinked everyone’s achievements. How the heck could that happen if it was just the launcher?
I’m on one of the lower population servers, Ferg’s Cross, and there is still usually a bunch of people farming this area. Good luck trying to find a server that doesn’t have a bunch.
I play an engineer, so I am pretty good at being able to tag a lot of the mobs. I still can’t average anywhere near where some of these guys are. But this place is a good steady source of T6 materials.
You can wear a Red Ring of Death and a Red Ring of Death (Infused) because they are both two uniquely named items.
But as someone pointed out, you will eventually want to infuse the other one, which you will not be able to wear.
You can get one offensive and one defensive ring with the same stats.
Your assumptions are correct for the levels they are supposed to drop at. That is according to the Dec 14 patch notes.
•Vials of Condensed Mists Essence no longer drop after scale 10.
•Globs of Coagulated Mists Essence no longer drop after scale 20.
But I can confirm, as you have, that vials still drop 20+. So I would assume this is a bug.
If you infuse one, you can wear both because now they are different unique named items.
I hate to say it, but there where come a point where you have way too many rings, way too many vials, way too many globs, and way too many shards and nothing to do with them.
I’m happy to see a mist essence drop still, but I’m like.. great.. what the heck am I supposed to do with that? Store it with the rest?
If you are in no hurry, just wait until the next update in a couple weeks to see. If it doesn’t come then, spend your ectos.
From December 14 patch notes:
•Vials of Condensed Mists Essence no longer drop after scale 10.
•Globs of Coagulated Mists Essence no longer drop after scale 20.
You can check the wiki for each mist also. Drop levels are listed as 1-9 for vials, 10-19 for globs, 20+ for shards.
Have experienced vials dropping 20+ though. This is not supposed to happen, however.
Honestly, I haven’t had great luck with mist essences on the dredge fractal. That fractal is GREAT for loot in general. I love that fractal, especially at higher levels, because it is Fractal Loot Heaven with those heavy miner’s bags. Just not for mist essences, in my opinion.
I’ve actually had better luck in Underwater and Ascalon getting mists.
I play an engineer and have only ever been kicked from a group once, and that I am pretty sure had nothing to do with the class I play but the ‘class’ of the teammates I had at the time.
I run fractals with PUGs all the time, and never have an issue even in the higher 20’s.
Unless a group is looking for a specific class, which they will say up front, this is not an issue. I left a part once because I was the last to join and they desperately needed a heavy class. Wished them luck, moved on to the next party, had fun.
There are plenty of people out there that will play with you. I use gw2lgf.com all the time for my parties and never have an issue. Thankfully.
On a side note, the most ‘painful’ run I have ever done was with me (engineer), a necro, and three rangers. Took a lot longer than it should have, but I do believe a couple of those rangers just didn’t know how to play their class very well. Though I have run with plenty of great rangers.
X-File level conspiracy theory or not, I too have seen a drastic decrease in the quality of loot. I rarely have a run with 1 rare in it. A level 28 run last night yielded not one yellow from the Maw chest. And I had only 2 rares for the whole run. That was a good night. I don’t get nearly as many cores or lodestones. They seem to hardly drop from the Maw chest at all any more.
Honestly, it has gotten to where the time is not worth the rewards.
I keep hearing ‘rumors’ of this rumor.
I have never seen anything that would even lend any credibility to it though.
Could it happen? Sure. But I have never seen anything that suggests it might happen.
I’ve seen experience people running ALTs that had lower fractal levels. These people knew the mechanics and thus were not a hinderance, even if they lacked the necessary AR.
But really, there is not much for an inexperienced level 8 guy to gain by attempting to run a level 26 fractal run. The daily chest and personal rewards are still tied to his current level, 8, and thus he isn’t even going to have a chance at a ring drop or fractal skin. Random loot is not that much better.
Supposed to be:
Vials up to level 9
Globs from 10-19
Shards from 20+
Not always the case though.
It is supposed to stave off DR.. in game experiences say otherwise.
I have never even seen the 4G returns.. more like 1.5-2G per hour on a good day.
You guys must be extremely lucky and must not have your accounts flagged to drop crop.
If you want to count porous bones drops, I think I might be in the running for the lead on that one.
what would happen if you put 4 eternity greatswords into the mystic forge?

You would probably get a broken monitor once you see what you get in return and throw your show at the monitor.
I can confirm that I have had vials drop at levels 20+. Once on a level 26 run and once on a 20 daily. The 26 one was during Maw I believe. The 20 one was during the Ocean Fractal.
Hope your luck turns around.
Just a display bug. You are not getting the bonus stats from your PVP gear, however the UI will display it and make it look like you are. It has been a known bug since launch I believe.
