Yeah, I don’t play other MMOs so I had no idea about the ‘unique’ terminology either. Luckily I heard about it before purchasing identical rings. But I do agree with a lot of people, just putting ‘Unique’ on the item doesn’t mean a lot to me.

You can ‘infuse’ one of the red rings of death and then equip both. One ‘Red Ring of Death’ and one ‘Red Ring of Death (Infused)’.

The emblazoned armor using the Cleric’s Intricate Gossamer Insignia is what you are looking for I believe.

Uses elaborate totems.

I’m not sure.. but you may have to purchase the insignia recipe from the vendor.

So much hate on the forums for different builds.

If you want a certain type of build to join your party, advertise that. Don’t get upset later to find out that someone is not running what you consider an optimum build. If the run has already started, deal with it, and don’t party with them again.

Why no hate for people using Omno bars? That extra MF% and GF% is purely selfish.. they could have ate something to give them more ‘useful’ stats that benefit the party instead of themselves.

I’ve seen plenty of people out there that just plain suck with or without MF gear. Those people aggravate me way more than a good player in MF gear. I just finish the run.. and move on.

Sell, toss into the mystic forge for chance at precursor, or salvage for chance at ectos.

I’m curious.. where does that extra 150% critical damage in the example above come from?

It may just be early and I may just be overlooking the obvious..

People buy dungeon armor to salvage for ectos all the time.

If buying rares, just make sure they are level 68 or higher if you are going to salvage for ectos.

For AC tokens, you must buy exotic to get a chance at ectos.

Ran fractals last night. Level 10.

During the swamp fractal, our group failed the first attempt to return the wisps. Upon reset, we noticed the box in the upper right hand of the screen said 1/3 wisps returned (Did not reset to 0/3 wisps returned) BEFORE we attempted it the second time. Made the second attempt much easier.

They have said they have turned the loot off temporarily for these mobs.

The mobs were respawning and presenting a possible abusable farm spot so the loot was turned off. They indicated that they intend to fix the respawning issue and turn loot back on, possibly with the next patch.

Had two ANet employees in my zerg during the Karka event. It was pretty neat to see them out there playing with the rest of us, experiencing the same issues and the same glory.

My only gripe is another dang token/coin/currency! With all the dungeon tokens, fractal relics, badges of honor, the bank tabs or backpack slots get filled up pretty quickly.

Of course, I guess this entices players to buy gems to expand bank/backpack slots… so I guess it could be viewed as a ‘win’ depending on your point of view..

(I shouldn’t have to create ‘alts’ for the sole purpose of being a pack mule for my main.)

Yes, I hear if you infuse one ring that the name will change and this will allow you to wear both as the rings now have different names (one will say infused).

If you infuse both, you will again no longer be able to wear both.

A little confusing if you don’t know this in advance, but it is working as intended.

Uh, nothing against DR or Kaining, but I don’t think it was the scoring system or you two fighting each other that kept you down.

Both servers had severe population problems. Both servers had this issue addressed. Congrats to both, wish you both success.

Take your time moving up the ladder though. Learn from each tier as you go. It only gets tougher.

I’ve been catching some of these bots ‘dropping’ in on a WP.. teleporting over to a nearby Harvest node.. and then teleporting away.

Gives me enough time to tag them and report them. I’ll stand there 15-20 minutes sometimes just so I can report at least 6 of them. It is quickly becoming part of the daily routine.

I only do them any more for the small chance of a precursor.

I only get a rare every 10-12 dragon fights. Not many other people receiving rares either.

I’ve only gotten an exotic ONCE, and that was from the Shatterer. And this is out of hundreds of dragon fights.

And I have very rarely ever seen someone link an exotic they received from the chest.

But that small chance keeps me fighting when I’m around. The nerf to Jormag’s adds has really killed that fight though. I’ll tag and come back also. Takes way too long otherwise. I’ll go farm for corrupted lodestones while waiting.

You definately will need more people to do the Temple of Lyssa.

But you should be able to pool enough people together at some point during a week to get that temple open without any problem. It’s not like it is Balthazar or anything.

It appears that Lyss only requires 50 coins as well. See screenshot.

They are supposedly working on a fix that will hopefully be out by the end of the month.

I’ve been getting a lot of crashes to desktop lately as well when changing maps. Very annoying. Especially when trying to do Fractals.

Seemed to start up when the Wintersday event started up. Never happened before that.

Quip. On an engineer. What a joke.

With only access to the pistol, rifle, and shield, are choice in legendaries pretty much sucks.

I really think they should have at least ‘2’ legendaries of every type of weapon. Instead of just the ‘Quip’ have an option for a more awesome and fearsome pistol. The Quip was obviously designed with Mesmers in mind.

They drop from Icebrood Colossus and Corrupted Quaggan as well.

I thought they take the same amount of wood or ore to create.. 6 each per barrel or frame. I might be wrong.

Also, I know the wiki says 100 coins for Lyss, but when I tried the ingredients in the forge a couple weeks ago (didn’t make the weapon though) it appeared to only require 50 coins for Lyss. Again, I may be mistaken. I’ll test again tonight.

Which one has particle effects? So little information about this out there. If anyone knows the specific differences between the two I would love to know.

I’ve seen this bug myself also.

Additionally, sometimes the sharks bug out and are ‘friendly’ even though the DE to kill them is active.

More than 4 dungeons in 2 hours will yield you DR and you only get 45 tokens.

I experience this bug all the time in AC and it makes running path 3 nearly impossible. Just can’t achieve the DPS necessary to bring down the burrows when half of the attacks are misses.

I believe it is DR. If you do too many dungeon runs in too short of a span of time, you will get DR.

I believe it is more than 4 dungeons in less than 2 hours to hit DR.

They appear to have a pretty low drop rate. Killed tons of young karka and only have around 30 shells to show for it.

You can ‘rediscover’ jumping puzzles daily. If you ‘discover’ three today, you can ‘discover’ those same three tomorrow. Not sure if it is 24 hours or reset with the daily server reset though.

You have to be quick about it, but I click on them, then right click their name and hit report.. If I don’t get to this point in time they disappear cleanly. If I get to this point, the report window will stay up and I can report them for botting easy enough.

Stood by a node this morning in Frostgorge Sound for 15 minutes and reported 6. Missed a few others though. They were bad this morning.

Had this bug the other day with some guild mates. We killed all the oozes before entering the big room. Detha still never triggered the event. We didn’t skip anything prior to entering the room. So not sure why Detha didn’t start the event.

Disabled during the Wintersday event. No ETA for her ‘restocking’ to be complete.

I’d support some new method of obtaining Badges of Honor over the current. Drops from killing invaders are really low and the jumping puzzles are the only real reliable means to get them.

Well, other than zerging through a map with a bunch of other players hoping to run across some invaders to kill. No real fun in that either.

35 kills and you got 20 badges? You are doing way better than most. I seem to average about one badge drop for every 8-9 kills.

The jumping puzzles are a far more reliable way to get the badges. The three borderland jumping puzzles alone can net you an average of 13-14 a day.

Probably related, my summoned fern mastiff (Sylvari racial skill) behaves this way.

Quite often just stands around during a fight.

The summoned tropical bird from my Pirate runes on the other hand attacks just fine. He goes out of his way to attack things in fact.

Issue started around the Wintersday update.

Occasionally, when I try to change maps (ie: Waypoint to Frostgorge Sound from Lion’s Arch) the client will crash to the desktop. Occurs on average at least once during a 3 hour period.

Any suggestions such as verifying or updating client files on my computer?

Agreed, it is still an easy and quick monthly.

And those saying they’ve seen 15 DCs are obviously either exaggerating or dealing with user end issues.

Personally, I never had many DCs until Wintersday came along. Now my client will just randomly crash on a somewhat consistant basis. Try to travel from LA to another zone.. instant crash. Happens a lot lately when I change maps. Never happened before Wintersday. Coincidence? Maybe.

If you are buying for a legendary, I would say now would be better than later to buy. The price should be increasing to stablize at the price they were at pre-‘exploit’.

I don’t see the price going down anytime soon imho. Not unless another exploit comes along.

Story mode is longer and does seem to give a worse rewards in comparison to expolorable mode.

So I wonder, why don’t they give any dungeon tokens for explorable? Might encourage more to run story mode again.

Many of you sound lucky to not experience DCs yourself or very often with your party. But they DO happen quite often and are a real issue. There is a reason that ANet is addressing the issue this month. Because it is a genuine problem.

And yes, most fractals can easily be done by four people. But I too am a little bewildered that this is included in the monthlies again. There is an obvious problem that affects many player’s ability to reliably run fractals. Until this issue is fixed, why make this a monthly requirement?

I’m just waiting for the inevitable monthly requirement of ‘10 Purchases from the Gem Store’. :P

Well it appears to me that when they ‘nerfed’ the adds to Jormag mid December, the drop rate on these lodestones was lowered as well. I could reliably farm one about every 20-30 minutes on average before. Now I’ll be lucky to see one an hour. And that goes for a couple other people I know who attempt to farm them.

But could just be bad luck on me and the others I know.

I would guess probably after they finish their sale in the Gem store.

Very strange to me that ascended rings are not sellable, but legendaries are!?!? Weird decision there imho.

It’s a known bug.

It is counting your PVP gear also, which is equiped with 6 Runes of the Mesmer for Mesmers.

This is only a graphical bug and you are not gaining bonuses for runes not equiped.

This bug has been around since launch I believe.

Over 30 minutes for crap loot from the dragon’s chest? No thank you. The T6 and T5 material drops from the adds were the only real draw. Lodestones were a nice bonus every now and then.

And for you guys standing off to the side of the Claw, shooting your Charzookas at the ice wall while ignoring the adds, quit exploiting the game. Ignoring the adds just makes the whole event harder on everyone else and is akin to exploiting. These adds were put there for a reason. To circumvent them is shameful of you. (Sarcasm btw)

The confusing part is trying to determine what is considered an exploit and what isn’t.

I would have believed looting multiple Karka chests from a “one-time” event would have been an exploit. But it seems this was not an exploit but an acceptable method of playing the game.

Also confusing is the response (part of a response) another mod used in closing a thread:

“However, it is not up to the community to decide what is considered as an exploit and/or worth a suspension/punishment.”

How are we, the players, supposed to know what is an exploit and what is not? It’s not up to us supposedly. Use Karma vendor for profit=exploit. Loot multiple karka chests from a ‘one-time’ event for possible precursors=no exploit. Use a loophole to make a hefty supply of ectos=????
