Whoever made them probably outsourced to Tixx and his airship to drop them.

When I was making my main, I was seriously considering making a female Charr, but male Charr won out.

For the past week, I have been working on ideas for a video in my head.

It will essentially be a song to the tune of “We’re off to see the Wizard”, but with new lyrics:
“We’re off to slay the dragon, the horrible Dragon of Orr.
If ever, oh ever a censored there was, the Draggon of Orr is one because,
Because because because because because…
Because of the horrible things he does.

Or something like that. Probably will make it longer.

Obviously I will need a human to play Dorothy, a Sylvari to play the Scarecrow, a Charr to play the Cowardly Lion, and either an Asuran in a Power Suit or a Norn in full plate armor (haven’t decided which which is better to represent the Tin Woodsman).

So, what does everyone think?

A lot of people seem to ask this, but you don’t need a build to beat him, just knowledge of how to use the mine detector properly and the ability to read the chat log to know when he is about to detonate all the mines (dodging also helps).

I’m not gonna say whether your build is good or bad. Everyone has different opinions, and depending on what you do, it may be just fine. Plus, you can build whatever you like, really, if it works for you, so be it.

To address your points from my opinion, the only thing I like is the weapon choices.
Utility wise, Symbols are nice, but spirit weapons are, well, kitten. Only exception is shield of the Avenger (as has been stated before) in dungeons. I’m telling you right now, Dredge Fractal and WvW are the greatest places to shine with Shield and Wall of Reflection. Try using shouts. While they are very staple, they are easy, highly effective, and you can be very supportive with them. If you don’t care for shouts, meditations are kinda fun as well. They’re really selfish, only one of them offers any kind of ally help… but dude Judges Intervention is fun as hell.

As far as armor, there’s only a few sets I recommend for Guardians.
Soldiers and Sentinels is staple for tanking, gives a lot of the needed stats, and is all around good. Knights is arguably better for more experienced Guardians. Since we have low health pools, but lots of self heals, toughness, and defense, we can sacrifice on stacking Vitality more than other classes.
Knights is probably my favorite set for Guardians, providing precision and toughness and power.
Berserker. Ok, I’m on the fence about this still I figure, if you wanna go all out damage, just roll a warrior. That said, Zerker gear is hilariously powerful on Guardians with the right build. Low survivability, relying on traits and your knowledge of the class and game in general to survive.
Don’t get clerics. Seriously, healing power is so useless in this game haha. Really, it’s preference, I see no big difference between my 60ish heals from Altruistic Healing and the extra 20-30 you get with a crap tone of healing power.
Getting the P/T/V karma gear from the temples is fine (Heavy Aurora I beleive). Nice starter, relatively easy to get if the temples are open.

Trait wise, the only thing I really really really like is 30 in Valor. Toughness, access to passive condition removal, extra precision, meditation passives, shield, hammer and mace traits… It’s just a really good line. I’m still playing with my build, but I like having a 1 build for multiple things plus solo play.

If you’re doing PvE, dungeons/fractals, wvw, or even spvp, and group events, it’s gonna be different. I feel I know my class well enough that I run whatever the hell I want, and I can not be dead weight to my group, support them in different ways, and not be locked down to the 0/0/30/30/10 type builds. It’s seriously how you want to play.

I never understood the “Soldiers, Sentinels, etc.” thing. I’m using the Heavy Dwayna Arcon armor, and I don’t see any “soldiers, sentinels, etc.” things there at all

When I started out building my Guardian, I went for full zeal/honor with some virtues build because I liked the traits that came with them, focusing on spirit weapons and symbols. I am use a greatsword and a scepter/focus, and my primary utility skills that I use most often are a spirit weapon (sword or hammer), purging flames, and a shout (usually Save yourselves). I am also trying to get a full set of Heavy Arcon armor of Dwayna, but at times I feel like the healing I do is just not enough and I have chosen the wrong build.

Am I wrong? Is my build a good one and I am just not using it correctly? Should I be focusing on different traits/trait lines, using different weapons. I appreciate any advice people can give me.

I already posted this in another thread, but now that I have read a comment in said thread by a live response coordinator suggesting that all posts in said thread be their own topics, might as well place it here as well.

So, we all know how coveted the exotic Orr karma armor is (at least I think it is coveted). So I have almost a full set, but after using it for a while, I found something off about the gauntlets when used by a Charr: there is some heavy clipping in the fingers and the spikes tend to float off the main body of the gauntlets (this floating is not very noticeable in my characters idle stance, but become really noticeable when doing things like holding one handed weapons and doing certain emotes, such as the /cry emote in the picture). I also think it might be partially dependent on the body type, as I think I remember seeing another Charr with a bigger body type wearing the same gauntlets, but the spikes were floating when they were idle (sorry, no picture of this).

Race: Charr
Gender: Male
Class: Guardian

Issue: Placement of Heavy Arcon Gauntlets

Description: In certain positions, such as when holding one handed weapons or performing certain emotes (such as the cry emote in the picture), the spikes on the Heavy Arcon Gauntlets float a significant amount off of the main part of the gauntlet, and there is significant clipping in the fingers of the left hand (and a lesser amount of clipping in the fingers of the right hand).

Ok, I need to know, how much is a commission? I’m pretty sure everyone is wondering this.

I have a friend who didn’t care about the molten skins at all. Then, he gets a key from his personal story, and with that first chest he gets a ticket.

I personally wanted a molted weapon skin since they were fitting with my character. I bought 30 keys with gold, nothing.

But yeah, it’s fair, coz RNG is always fair.

At least for Southsun Cove it seems that we may have a chance to get the new chests from mobs, it’s something.

Don’t forget the fact that you don’t need keys to open them. That’s always a plus.

Maybe its because I’m a Charr (that strips to a loincloth on the beach), but I thought that is what you got when you go on the beach.

Anyone know if there is a website that can keep me updated on whether or not a Dwayna Temple is open or not, or do I have to come back here every time to check?

Also, will guesting allow me to temporarily change to these servers free of charge, or is that not how guesting works?

Stuff like this doesn’t bother me when it comes to weapons, but I just get kitten when it happens on armor. Take for example the Karma armor you get in Orr. The gauntlets are normally ok, but when I wield a scepter, the spikes on and around the wrist float, and that kitten es me off, especially since that doesn’t happen when I wield a greatsword.

This is news to me.

I love the fact that they can have different colors. Reminds me of Phantasy Star Online.

They’re animated as doing so, possibly a side effect of whatever part of their genetic structure had horns. A lot of Charr skeletal structure is distinctly non-feline, and like the claws, the jaw structure is one of those things.

Actually, I have to disagree with you on the claws part. Their hands and feet are distinctly feline. The feet-paws are obviously feline, including dew claws, and their claws, while not retractable, are still feline (cheetahs have these kinds of claws). The hands are also feline, albeit mostly simian, but still technically feline what with the claws being the distal phalanges bones (fingertip bones) and all.

GS is more damage based and Hammer is more control based. It really depends on your playstyle.

They can already do everything a Warrior can do, except better. You should nerf Warrior’s HP and buff Guardians HP up to Warriors and make Guardian the alpha class it deserves to be.

But if they do that, they will completely ruin the fact that this game ditches the trinity so that any class can fill out any roll.

Besides, if guardians can “do everything a warrior can do”, why can’t they wield as many weapon types, allowing them to mix and match weapon skills like warriors can?

Please leave game design to the game designers.

Ok, so I am playing on a Laptop (Lenovo Ideapad Y570) and lately after playing for 1/2 hour the framerate drops significantly (not enough to be unplayable, but it is noticeable and can severely drop when there are multiple spell big spell effects going on). While I have taken the advice for the graphics cards settings, it still drops. So I’m thinking the problem isn’t with the CPU or the GPU, but with the fact that they are getting hot (when I logged off, I immediately checked the temperature with Razer Game Booster, and the CPU temperature was a whopping 90 degrees celsius).

So, if I am right, and the problem is with overheating, will a cooling pad work for my laptop, and if so, which one do people recommend (I am thinking the Cooler Master Notepal X2 or X3).

Well, even though I might not, I know that there are people out there who would. After all, City of Heroes/Villains didn’t have loot, and it was insanely popular up until it’s (severely premature) shut down.

Welcome to my world. My fps has been low since one of the October patches., corrected itself a patch later, and then went back to the kittenter the patch after. By kittenty fps I mean less than 30 FPS, everywhere with a few exceptions. Even occurs on low settings.

I know, It is starting to get annoying. I was planning on doing some dungeon runs and/or WvWvW after I am done with the story, but until my FPS is fixed, I don’t see that happening.

I’m hoping we get anew skill boxes used for mounts only, and that there are at least two types available: race specific and profession specific.

For example:

Race specific:

Humans – Horse (duh)

Norn – Dolyak (horses are too small)

Asura – Golem Platform (a floating platform)

Sylvari – Equisetum (this needs a bit of explanation, basically a plant mimicking a horse, like how sylvari are plants mimicking humans, but the name is of an actual plant also called the horsetail)

Charr – Charrcycle (motorcycle, but made by a Charr)

I have recently been seeing many NPCs who are bald in personal story cutscenes (the ones where you talk with them). All of them are supposed to be wearing headgear, but for some reason it isn’t loading and neither is their hair, making them look bald.
