So, any word on how much this expansion will cost, or is it an expansion that will add a lot of content but be free?

While I somewhat agree on the Kasmeer/Marjory relationship being forced, I don’t agree with anything else.

Braham isn’t a feminist view on males; he’s a Norn. Norn are a strong, proud and boastful race who achieve glory by playing to their strengths. For some its their skill at hunting, other’s it’s the craft of making excellent weapons, and some like Braham it’s their strength. It’s all a part of Norn culture.

Finally, Taimi is not a disabled stereotype. She is not meant to be pitied; she goes out of her way to remind people that she isn’t too be pitied, sometimes to the point of endangering herself. Also, her Golem doesn’t fix her problems, it just acts as her arms and legs, which given what Golems actually are designed to do, makes it no different than any other Golem, save for the inclusion of a kittenpit that makes it no different from a Power Suit Golem (also when we first saw the art of Zojja standing in the palm of her Golem’s hand, don’t tell me you didn’t think the same).

GW2 copied Mass Effect, Mass Effect copied something else, that thing copied another thing, etc.

There are no original stories anymore. There are only variations of the same story.

After going there last night and I noticed a drop in the framerate when I was looking at the dust storm from the outside, but when I was inside it returned to normal.

I think it’s a problem trying to render everything as normal and the heavy particle effect that is the dust storm, as when you are in the dust storm, your vision is reduced drastically to the point where it balances out with the heavy particle effect.

I got it first time using Virtue of Resolve, Hold the Line, and Signet of Resolve. Renewed Focus doesn’t discount the achievement, but neither does it help. Just don’t use all three of the aforementioned skills at once and you should be ok.

So, in my search to increase/improve my fps in the game, I have gone through many ideas and tried most of them. My latest one is using my intel i7’s turbo boost technology.

However I didn’t see much of an improvement when I used it last. Is this the kind of problem that requires me to wait until ANet optimizes the game, or am I going to have to just accept the fact that Guild Wars 2 doesn’t run as well on my laptop as it should?

Honestly, it’s not that big a deal.

Very few games with tailed races don’t have tail clipping problems (the only one I can think of off the top of my head that doesn’t have tail clipping is TERA), so maybe I’m used to it.

The clipping that is a big deal is the new faces the males got: one of the faces (the one that looks like a lion with spikes on his chin, cheeks, and brow) has clipping issues, especially with the Draconic helm (the center of the brow is clearly visible through the helm).

To me tail clipping is excusable, head clipping not so much.

While reading around for ways to improve my fps, I found a claim that unparking cpus can help.

My computer has about 8 cpus (it’s an i7) and I’m wondering if unparking actually does improve cpus and/or if its advisable to unpark them (and if it is if I can get some advice on which program to use and how many I should unpark).

Exactly what in the real world is permanent? Nothing! Holidays, businesses, and so on; everything in the real world is temporary. It’s about time an MMO actually reflected this!

I have a question about the runes: Does the rune that increases chill duration increase the duration of a chill caused by a rune on the same weapon?

Well, I did check gw2crafts.net ant it looks as though the amount of gold needed to go from 400 to 500 in armorsmithing has dropped by about 20 gold at the time of the patch, so you might have actually got things backwards.

Or not. I dunno. I never was that good at economics.

My biggest problem with the world bosses currently is the amount of dragonite that is obtained. Due to the previous schedule, it was easy for me to get 40-60 ore give or take a night (I really only have an hour a night to play because of my schedule) because of every server being different, some bosses overlapping, etc. Now it’s much harder.

I’m thinking there should either be an increase in the amount given or do away with the whole “dragonite from world boss chests, crystals from dungeons, and dust from champion bags” thing and replace it with all with tokens that are stored in the currency tab that can be traded at an npc for any basic ascended material you want at a 1/1 ratio (actually this way might be better as it would allow people with a surplus of one material to do any dungeon, champion, or world boss and get other ascended materials).

I swear it now takes around a minute to use any of the waypoints, which is almost double the time before the patch.

Please tell me this is a problem with the patch and not my computer.

As of late, I have been having a problem with the game loading. Loading times have slightly increased, but more annoyingly parts of the environment aren’t properly loaded or missing and take a while to load after a new area loads. Examples include the walls of the Citadel of Flame and the Asura Gates that used to lead to Lion’s Arch in the PvP area.

Can anyone help me on this?

While this is good on paper, it is going to cause some problems for me due to my schedule restricting me to playing certain times of the day, meaning that I am going to have a very difficult time getting dragonite ore due to the bosses that are up during my playtime give very little ore

While I cannot speak for everyone, I have personally found that it is far easier to get Bloodstone Dust and Empyreal Fragments than it is to get Dragonite Ore. In order to balance this out, I recommend one of two changes:

1. Change the reward panel of all events that would normally give ascended materials so that players can choose which material they receive
2. Use the mystic forge to convert surplus material of one variety into another

If anyone has additional suggestions please feel free to give them.

It’s called a three act story: act one is exposition where everything is introduced, characters are established, etc; act two is rising action where important events happen, plots are twisted, etc; act three is resolution where, well, everything is resolved.

The first act of Taimi’s story just so happens to take place during Scarlet’s second and third.

Honestly I think it only seems that way because too many people seem to not realize you have to dodge the Knight’s pulls and slams (way too many people down because of that).

Additionally I think the whole “no more than 50 can get the buff at a time” is a trick given how we can’t have 150 people in LA at a time.

We managed to win once in NS and my last run (10 hours ago approx) was a near success with one down and the other two at like <1% health before time ran out, but we failed the hologram fight.

So yea next time I’m guesting onto Jade Quarry.

Not to be rude or anything, but why must people make a big deal out of this? Sylvari do this all the time.

Also, I’m more interested in Taimi. After all, she is wanted under suspicion for aiding and abetting Scarlet. I’m very interested to not only see if this is true, but how it happened if it did. Did Taimi know Scarlet before she went crazy? Did Scarlet have occasional bouts of sanity and befriended Taimi then? Did she manage to trick Taimi into helping her? To me this is far more interesting than Kasmeer’s/Marjory’s love for each other (personally I think it might have made for a better story if Kasmeer had loved Marjory but Marjory tried to keep things professional between them but that’s just me).

It’s an interesting issue. While I appreciate the addition of a disabled character, I do feel that its still somewhat lacking in that it plays to the stereotype of – “Disabled people must be super intelligent or something like professor X and Oracle”.

I`d be a lot more impressed if we saw a disabled norn or charr who wasn’t somehow gifted with an intellect and gadgets that basically made their disability into a benefit.

While I like Taimi, I feel her disability is tacked on. If Roxx lost an arm and was then told she was unfit for the warband – that would be a significant plotline involving disability.

I dunno. I rather like the fact that Taimi used her intelligence to make a golem that is part wheelchair, part Kool-Aid man, and part Chuck Norris. I didn’t even realize she couldn’t walk until it was pointed out to me.

I think it’s cheaper for people capable of making ingots than it is for everyone else.

I’m still waiting for them to do with skins what they did during Queen Jennah’s Jubilee, when we could earn skins with in game tokens and events, not with the cash shop.

Interesting, but its more likely that she’s ANet’s version of The Joker.

Brilliant, capable of making people do whatever they want, has a seemingly endless supply of resources, but ultimately coo coo for cocoa puffs and about as noble as a risen skritt.

I got two free passes from the alliance bags within the first day (probably have more now) and have yet to use them and likely never will.

Could the 6 gods actually be the 6 elder dragons? I mean, NPC’s have been saying how the spirits doesn’t seem to hear them.

Maybe they are going for the same plot twist that was in Castlevania Lords of Shadow (i.e. the Lords of Shadow were the the dark halves of the founders of the order the protagonist is a part of that were left behind when they ascended).

Actually, I’m fairly certain that you can get sprockets withe the gift from the meta achievement, similar to the candy corn and crystals, so not as p2w as you would think…

Maybe bring back another one of Mad King Thorn’s disowned and erased-from-history children, but because they only preferred fun tricks and wasn’t certifiably insane (and quite possibly benevolent).

I theorize that it is the last sane remnants of Scarlet’s former personality trying it’s best to stop her, but Scarlet herself has enough sway to prevent these remnants from actually telling that it is Scarlet’s former personality so it is forcing these letters to be signed in the cryptic way that they are.

Or maybe it is Evon Gnashblade, Ellen Kiel, or an as of yet unintroduced person. Heck for all we know it’s a Mursaat.
