Have you guys seen that guild BV in EB? They were doing soo good holding that western flank for so long. Even when they grouped up with more players at night, truly an amazing guild.

I had fun with you guys + DB yesterday duelling in FA BL at south camp. I called that bunch of PRO down to play too. Hopefully we can do it again soon.
Just consumables costs almost 20 silver/hour. I MIGHT break even on that doing wvw, but I certainly won’t make any money. If I spent the time I have in wvw doing pve instead, I’d probably have two legendaries. And yet, a pve’er can come into wvw and have better stats than me. Go figure.
What consumables are you using that cost 20s/hour? o.O

How many commanders are on FA? In all the screenshots and in-game I never see less than 3. Maguuma has periods of hours where we have 0 or 1.
When everyone has an icon, is it just a status thing at that point? I mean I’ve seen seen d/d eles with icons, which has got to be the most useless class to have an icon on.
D/D ele’s are pretty good commanders from what I’ve seen, they are excellent at being the “tip of the spear” in open field pushes, which is pretty important. The worst choice for a commander would be a thief, ranger or engineer – in my opinion of course.
I don’t think anyone on FA keeps track of how many commander compendiums are purchased and activated on our server in total but fear not; we all know the difference between the ones who buy it for status and the ones who WvW and actually have a clue on what to do.
Magrubma is a very proud server. If I (or someone in my party) kills a D/D Ele, Thief or Mesmer on Magrubma, chances are they will invite themselves to party to tell me how I lucky I got or how cheesy I am.
They’re generally nice when they settle down a little and we have a few more fights. In the past couple weeks I’ve had like 14 people added in contacts from Magrubma from some good fights etc. It’s nice to run into each other randomly on the field occasionally and whether we win or lose, we generally wave and whisper each other to say hello (and probably jump on each others bodies)
Some people get really, really mad though. I don’t really need rage whisper spam – I encourage friendly competition (and banter) but there is a line that can be crossed.

A commander from RET, Brother Alaric does this every night in EB I think. Pretty sure he posted videos and stuff last week. They race to see who can get the furthest into the enemy spawn (I think there’s like a prize if you win?)

BTW, I was the one who was first hit by it and brought it to my guild’s attention. It was during our matchup with Ehmry Bay & Yak’s Bend where a certain norn elementalist from the [HELL] guild (which is now on FA) first used it on us during a badge-farm at Bluevale. SOOOO, if you wanna get technical – FA used it first on us.

You’re missing the point entirely. The point is, an entire guild used them to gain an unfair advantage and trying to draw a comparison between that and a rogue individual from any server using it is asinine.
I’m not crying about it at all – I actually kinda felt bad for the people who needed to use them. I just don’t think it’s accurate to brush it off and say “Well, some guy from FA did it first, so that gave our entire guild an excuse to drop down to his level.”
I’m just saying those who openly admit their whole guild was using them don’t really earn any respect or show integrity, period. Nobody is going to be surprised if we see EA out there spamming gears with NNK, basically.

Man, if there’s one thing this matchup has taught me, it’s never try to 1v1 anyone from PRO. No matter how much it looks like they want to 1v1, it’s just bait for the rest of their guild. You’d think I’d stop by now, but I keep trying, but it always ends the same.

Re-read it a few times, still nope. I think you want people banned for activating a portal.. I have to disagree, unless the mesmer in question did not get inside the structure through legitimate means.
Remember all servers are in Texas, to my knowledge, so they could do this without real latency concerns.
They aren’t, the EU servers are in Frankfurt, Germany, so yes there would be latency / packet loss concerns.
So no, merging them is not a viable solution.
Something I’ve never understood. Why is it that Asia and Oceanic can play on NA servers without worrying about latency but Europe cannot?
We get terrible latency. We’re just used to it, that’s all.
I often dream of how good it would be to have less than 400-600ms latency to the ArenaNet servers in Dallas.
My highlight from yesterday was camping the EB JP with 5 people and having FA send 30+ because they were unable to kill us. Unluckily for you guys OG had quite a few online so we were about to get about 13-15 and come back and kill at 30+ of you.

I went from level 12 to 80 on my mesmer in WvW. Pretty fast XP if you have a few friends willing to do the karma train loop and hit camps/dolyaks/centaurs/quaggans/veteran wurm/veteran harpy and maybe ninja a tower or two during the quieter hours.
I leeched XP by tagging along with my actual large WvW guild group too when we took towers/keeps/SMC (shh, don’t tell!).

I was the sylvari staff mesmer from PRO in the quaggan backpack. Pretty tired and only came to watch originally, so sat out a lot of the open field “brawling” that started. Still got some nice 1v1s in though.
Awesome duels with some of you Blackgate guys out the front of your spawn in FA Borderlands. I was the staff mesmer with quaggan backpack. Shout out to the staff necro from [RAT] good fights and you fought fair when some others came along to try and 3v1 me /salute
EDIT: Also ty for returning the favour and not flagging that reckless upleveled thief. He was screaming at me for help before I could even tell him we were 1v1.
The only reason you see the score on FA so low a lot of the time is because Terrible Coast never attacks anyone else other than FA. So BG being the opportunists they are take full advantage of this and attack us as well.
I am not complaining however, I love it, keep it coming guys, the more zergs come at us the more loot bags. O soooo many loot bags tonight and spent more than half the night on Yak escorting. Only time I died was against a few awesome TC thieves whilst guiding the yak and at SMC with the entire ICOA and TC server coming down on us at the same time and still held it for 2 wipes of BG and 1 wipe of TC.
Good fun this matchup.
Knew this would startup from FA. Last time we faced them all they did was complain about getting 2v1… and again it starts here.
Last night I was in BG borderlands with a good sized group of TC… we never saw any FA there.
Before you complain… and yes that’s EXACTLY what you were doing… realize this is a 3-way fight. Sometimes you’re going to be on the receiving end of a 2v1… sometimes you’ll be fighting 2 v 1 other.

Keep it up all. I don’t care where we are on the leaderboard – as long as we did our best to be competitive, we enjoyed ourselves and we learned from the experience. I think we are already achieving that!
Well, seems as though I was mistaken about Kaineng not being ready for higher tiers. Well, their Oceanics are, their NA…not so much.
Either that or our oceanics were taking the night off. It does happen from time to time.
Only reason Kaineng should be in tier 2 is because of their Oceanic presence. Now don’t confuse that with saying their Oceanic presence is great. Of course you look amazing when you can queue maps while your opponents are asleep.
As far as talent level between Kaineng’s NA and Oceanics, well that’s tough to compare because the Oceanics aren’t put against other server’s daytime numbers.
The thing is, Dragonbrand’s oceanic presence is stronger than the NA contingent. Granted, the difference is less than that which Maguuma makes, but I still expected more of the map to be in Dragonbrand’s hands than was showing on those score reports.
This tells me one of two things: our oceanic contingent was having an off night (which is somewhat common for us at reset night/weekend) or Kaineng’s oceanic crew is a bunch of absolute monsters. One of the two is true.
I think Kaineng is fielding 4 map queues in really late Oceanic. FA never has any queues at these periods of the day (even reset day) so NNK & co. were a lot more effective.. still pretty surprised to see DB sitting that low during their prime, kinda says Kaineng would beat FA / TC or it’d be extremely close..
Tired. As I expected, TC and FA scrambled to hold on to whatever they could during my evening and late night.. I for one welcome our new overlords, BG. Am I right in assuming we have like 4-5 servers (Kaineng?) worthy of tier 1 right now?

I don’t think it has anything to do with the vid by any means, but the match has gone downhill fast and even CD stuck it out better than this. Their points may have been lower, but it wasn’t from lack of effort.

Dunno. Old Maguuma had their chance against FA back in the day, neither had night time coverage.. It’s a bit of a stretch to say Maguuma got in the tier they are now without transfers. It’s not really a stretch to say that for FA – we’ve been here. For a loooong time. I think FA earned the right to stay in T3 and we have shown that to CD, YB, TC, DB and IoJ.
With no “big asian timezone” guilds. We beat SoS when they were rising up too, although it was incredibly close, so I guess it is possible to be competitive; just don’t expect to dominate the tier easily..
Sooooo, was BT having a bad night at SW camp on Mag just now? Because I heard so many good things on the forums, but I’m really disappointed. Or did our guys already learn their tricks? This was my first time fighting them and it wasn’t hard to call out what they were doing. Don’t overextend and we win. When they would finally come to us, we wipe them or push them back. They ball up in a corner or hide behind a structure, and hope for someone to come after them or attempt a flank. This repeated for more than 5 times.
Too too too predictable. These tactics will only take out pugs and anyone unfamiliar with fighting against groups that outnumber you and/or have tight communications. Hopefully BT has more up their sleeves, because that was seriously just unimpressive. I’m not trying to be rude, it’s just that it was such a stark difference than from what I’ve heard, that I’m in awe.

I’m sorry but I was at that camp – there was literally 8 BT there, 1 guy from OBEY, me (the PRO mesmer) and one guy who wasn’t repping a tag. You had a lot of troops, siege and NPC guards. They were just screwing around, I wasn’t even in comms with them. I don’t even normally play during BT’s time slot, so I’m not even going to comment on their “mmo skill level”; it’s kind of cute how fired up you are about it though – if I was them I would be flattered when someone rushed on the forum to post about me! Their group had a bad time in the SW camp? Dunno, seemed like they were having fun. Wouldn’t they just not come back if they were having a bad time?
[OG] and a few individuals obviously have a different definition to most for “roaming groups” and “zergs” it seems. I have to keep checking to see if I’m in the sPvP section of the forums or not.. Keep up the intensity, everyone.
