There’s many ppl gambling on BLC. Check forums in key promotion day. This is ridiculous.
This is why I don’t like things like dungeons and fractals, in any game. It’s not the content, it’s those people. And while I rationally know not everyone is like that, in fact, odds are the vast majority aren’t like that, those experiences are so sour they far outweigh the positive experiences over time, to the point where it’s more about deciding whether it’s worth the risk to get the mall-cop-by-day-special-forces-wanna-be-type-a-by-night-and-weekend type as my party leader, yelling at everyone, kicking people, blaming tanks and healers in trinity based games (always seems that guy is a DPS guy, right?).
It’s like this pair of scissors I just bought my dad … (what they … ?)
Got them from Amazon, but it wasn’t coming from the
american worker labor abuselocal staging warehouse, it was a third party seller, so you can’t deal easily with Amazon. They were supposed to be here 4 days ago. Tracking the number, the seller used DHL to get it to the USPS here in town, and that is the last record of it. I submitted a “where’s my stuff” form with USPS online (because I really don’t want to call someone), and got a reply email: “Call ‘Steve’ at this number.”Oy.
So I call the number, ask for Steve. “Uh, there’s like no Steve here any more man.” I explain I got an automated form telling me to call Steve. “Oh, uh wait that Steve. Sorry, there’s two Steve’s and like one of them left, that’s why I was confused, you should call back when he’s like back from lunch in a half hour.” I guess figuring that 2-1=0? I don’t know.
So now, do I call new-Steve at this point, or just pay another $4.75 and try again, not having to talk to new-Steve, which will invariably turn into a really bad experience?
See? Scissors + new-Steve = Dungeons. All makes perfect sense.
the same toxic attitude you can find on tequatl zerg or in pvp; the amount profanity is ridiculous when random ppl need to work together but it has nothing to do with dungeons. whole game is experiencing this.
The thing is, when you enter any content with random ppl you are choosing to face random situations. if you are oversensitive, dont play with pugs.
They are not fitting charr because they are outfits. They are fitting charr because once in a while accidentaly they made charr fitting skin. Those skins would work as armor skins with additional mixing value.
Again, I understand your argument about buying more skins. Almost. Because skins come free to apply first time. I have already explained in this thread that you can buy skins once and forget about gemstore while transmutation charges are constant income.
This is fair system. Additional services should be paid especially for non-sub game and trans charges are not affecting gameplay in any way.
transmutation charges are constant income for arena net since the release when lvl 80 tran charges were only gem store item
legit part of 2 ppl wanting to do a path can be kicked by other 3 ppl for every bullkitten like wrong profession, level, gear etc even though the first 2 were creating a lfg post. yes, legit players are punished.
btw I’ve never seen anyone banned for stealing instances and even ppl recorded doing this are still running in LA spreading joy.
I agree with legendaries.
I dont agree with sab. sab weapons are gadgets from a place existing in the game and explained lorewise. Katanas are just easy money from anime freaks.
This is one of many reasons I believe that HoT will be just a LS2 quality with few feature pack style changes. Not much substance. Feels like a fast way to get money after china fiasco.
So now even if person opens instance he can be kicked by strangers for no reason, instances can be stolen, ppl can be harassed in many many ways.
This is not fix, this is a disaster. If they wanted to fix instance after crash they should have adjust the system to keep logged off account in party for 30 minutes or longer instead of autokick in 10 minutes.
I am more than sure because of this change legit players are more punished than griefers or dc’ed parties
You got kicked. Oh my god what a disaster.
Problem is not players or lfg. Problem is arena net destroyed instance owner so you are never safe from being kicked. Dunno who they wanted to punish but as always nothing good came from it.
P.S. what was lfg description for this party?
You dont have to change it if you dont want to but outfits limit many options for ppl who want to mix them.
EDIT: Though I do agree rank means nothing, it generally means you’ve played more games; yes? Meaning more experience
There are special hotjoin games that are just farming rank, with both teams basically afk the entire game and kicking players that want to actually fight. I’m surprised Arenanet doesn’t seem to give a kitten about this happening but it is what it is. There are so many Legendary Champions without a clue who obviously gained their rank this way that yes, rank means very little these days.
Those ppl paid for their arenas so they can do whatever they want with it. This is arena net’s fault this system makes no sense and instead of improving it they’re making constant backsteps.
Katanas make no sense in this game unless we’re getting cantha.
I dont understand this whole anime fenomenom.
I am against any outfit. Only armor skins have any value. I won’t pay for outfit.
Removing solo/team queues was a terrible idea and we are all paying with our time and nerves for their corporate attitude. I dont expect this to be changed however I stopped playing pvp totally. Good work. Shrink more almost non existing pvp community.
Yeah, outfits are terrible idea and I hope they will be scrapped. They lack of customization. It is fair to support company for good ideas. outfits aren’t anywhere near a good idea
If you dont want to pay for changing look you can buy outfits.
Transmutation system in GW2 is extremely fair and streamlined and transmutation charges are easily earned with normal gameplay therefore any argument about forced paywall is invalid.
I think when they read this thread they’re gonna feel so bad they will come and apologize to you.
When ppl do any path solo/duo/trio and want to sell it, more power to them. This is legit bussiness.
Doubtful, but getting time banned or perma banned will certainly do the trick.
I agree on it being a legitimate business. Completing a difficult task and charging someone else for it has been a common practice since GW1.
I’ve never seen any scammer banned in this game
I think when they read this thread they’re gonna feel so bad they will come and apologize to you.

3) I am not looking anywhere. The burden of proof is on you. Where and when Arena Net dev stated the game will never have a precursor? I want a direct quote or link to it. Because there was not such a hard statement from them, I already know you won’t provide any quote. I’m only waiting for you to admit you are spreading misinformation.
I really have no stake in this, but I did find the following:
“So right now we’re not really looking at expansions as an option,” lead content designer Mike Zadorojny told me on his visit to London last week.
“It’s something that’s on the table but it’s not something we’re focused on, because what we want to do is – our idea here is that with Living World, we can do what expansions would have done but do it on a more regular basis.”
I pressed him to tell me whether there would be a Guild Wars 2 expansion this year and he shook his head to indicate no. What about next year, I asked?
“If we do this right,” he answered, “we will probably never do an expansion and everything will be going into this Living World strategy.”
I don’t know if there was anything more concrete than this. While the wording was definitely not absolute, it did lean quite a bit towards the “no expansion pack” side, so I can see why people may have thought that it was said.
I know about this interview. All it was said there is “we are not deciding on the expansion now but it is possible in the future” so this is now what I demand from previous poster who stated they were NEVER going to make one. With so strong statement I want him to prove it.
why shouldnt it exist?
Because it makes for a terrible cosmetic system in a game that’s supposed to place a heavy emphasis on cosmetics. Switching armor and weapons skins should be free. What we should be paying gems for are a) new skins, and b) additional skin set slots that would allow us to save multiple sets of skins as swappable “outfits”. And no, this would not result in less money for ArenaNet, it would result in more, because people see more value in a permanent purchase. Basing an appearance-altering system around a consumable cash shop resource is counterproductive, because it actually discourages people who like to change their appearance a lot from spending. I barely touch trans charge purchases and I’ve only every bought one skin because I know I’m going to have to shell out more in order to swap them out with others. If it was unlimited, I’d buy every skin that hits the shop, even if I may never use it, just to increase my options. This is the way costuming types tend to think.
You don’t make money off of us by charging us to change clothes, you make money by increasing our clothing options. We’re fine with paying for new clothes and more wardrobe space, but tell us we have to pump quarters into the dressing room every time we want to use it, and we’ll go elsewhere, and never buy clothes to begin with. Other games with cosmetic clothing systems, like LoTRO, Champions, The Secret World, and DC Universe, figured this out just fine. GW2 needs to as well.
this is bullkitten
I’ve already posted about burst sales and constant income. You WANT transmutation to be free while this is only cosmetic service with 0 gameplay value. Additional services should be for additional money.
You bought 1 skin and used it – transaction ended.
Transmutation charges and wardrobe is another service which allows you to store bought skins for additional usage. And you can do it for trans charge. This is fair because in normal situation to use the same item twice you should buy it twice.
Buyers also benefit from rising gem conversion because they get more gold for the same money spent on gems if they convert.

You can buy zerk gear for CoF, CoE and Arah tokens.
You can also buy a zerker armor set at Grenth temple in Orr for karma.
Honestly, I enjoy a few dungeons here and there, but most of them aren’t exactly appealing. Every time I check Arah, it’s “accepting gold to win;” the majority of others are “zerks-a-lot or die”, with no enjoyment of running it. AC is skip mobs, burn, repeat. CoF is the only one that I have fun in, and it’s still no more than 10 mins with most groups.
Fractals seem to have a much more laid-back group running them as a whole and a lot more patience out of the groups in terms of helping other players through, explaining fights, and not rushing the content. On the surface I thought dungeons would be a great experience when I started the game, but they are one of the least enjoyable things I’ve done, and if it weren’t for CoF being my one saving grace, or needing tears for my Legendary, I probably wouldn’t step foot in them.
Because of how most of them are handled they just become wallbangs where everyone rushes from boss to boss and finds ways to hide from adds while completing objectives. I do hope they have something new to offer, or if dungeons continue to be present in new content, that they’re handled in a more enjoyable way.
yes, this is because we LEARNED those dungeons for 3 years now
take a new player and put him in arah or even in ac, I want to see him facerolling content
put a little perspective to your arguments, if dungeons were like you describe them at release I would agree, but they werent, because we didnt know them
this is why ppl want new dungeons, this is a great group content to learn and challenge but no revamp or dps nerf will make old dungeons interesting; we need new challenges, new ideas for ORGANISED GROUPS not zerg farms
You can’t make very good guesses if you’re working backwards from your conclusion.
its exactly what you do mr educated
Except no :p
I always have to repeat this, I’d love new dungeons, I just have come to the conclusion that they probably won’t happen, and that anet has good, or at least understandable reasons for not doing them.
People come into these threads with a “I like dungeons I want more dungeons so dungeons must be popular and a good idea for arenanet to do.”.
this is weird because I can see ppl expressing their opinions that they want dungeons and some scrubs coming along, devaluating the amount of challenge inside dungeons and calling arguments that dung community is small and shouldnt be supported
Rewards are the main driving force in all parts of PvE. This is a cosmetic game. Content can be be popular by design alone. But it wont hold true replayability if rewards are poor. And its perfectly reasonable to be rewarded appropriately for whatever content you choose to do. Anet have always said play the game how you want and get rewarded. But when the rewards arent correctly balanced players feel forced to farm certain content so they can get their cosmetic items. Its an important issue and mocking this concept is ridiculous.
It is, but there’s a pretty consistent feel that as it stands dungeon-running is reward-motivated out of scale, and it’s warping the whole experience.
It’s left us in a situation where people demand new content but won’t play new content because the old content (being quick and boring) is so very much more rewarding.
Somebody I respect up above (or maybe in the other thread that got locked) said something like ‘dungeons are nice for me when I don’t want to commit probably 30-50 minutes to a fractal and want to do a quick something’. (paraphrasing slightly, but that’s the gist). New dungeons won’t, especially at first, be like that. They’d be at least 20 minutes (probably more) even for fast players. From seeing many of these discussions over the last few months, there’s not much sign people will adopt them vs the quick bite-sized tidbits they have now.
It ends up being a bit of a catch-22.
Edit@Thaddeus
Part of the problem there is that the time/effort/reward on most of the old dungeons is pretty far out of whack. It sets up an impossible expectation.
its because we have the same dungeons for 3 years now, new dungeons = new challenges
If you want the AP/rewards, you can deal with it and do the story. I don’t know what you aim to accomplish by complaining about it, because they’re not going to change their plans for the story just because you would have written the characters differently.
how do you know that? is that a fact?
You can’t make very good guesses if you’re working backwards from your conclusion.
its exactly what you do mr educated
If it’s a succesful way for them, why should they change it?
If you dont want to spend transmutation charges for looks buy outfits only, this is why they were created.
I am changing my skins every few days. because this system is fair for players it is their right to be paid fo additional service. However they are kind enough to give us a very easy way to obtain charges for free in the game. This is fair! This is good! This is how other companies should work.
if there wasn’t why did they start to ‘neglect’ dungeons?
I dont know. You dont know. A red post could answer but that’s to hard for their PR to say up front why they neglect a part of their community.
So what we do is we try to get the best educated guess we can.
My educated guess is – after destroying dungeon team and forcing Hrouda to leave they have noone competent with knowledge how to deal with dungeons. Their Living Story dream and china release kept game frozen for 2 years. My second educated guess is that aetherblade was an experiment for participation check. The problem is the data they got is broken because aetherblade rewards are abyssmal when compared to effort and time you need to complete them. This is why ppl avoid this path. So instead of adjusting this path to match time/effort cost, they assumed it is not worth to create new dungeons. Or they have no skill because Hrouda isnt there anymore.
and you know: just because most of current dungeons/paths are easy and bit boring (most 80- ones, jade maw), doesnt mean they couldnt make new ones with more complex mechanics, more challenging.
They literally did that, Aetherpath exists and no one touches it with a ten foot pole.
because rewards are abyssmal
i have done aetherpath once i liked what i got out of it mainly the mini and its a different experience that i won’t go and do everyday but certainly willing to help a guild mate out with it
Every time I see the rewards argument, whether to aether or to fractals, I kind of eyeroll.
It seems to say “We want new content! But if it’s not the optimal GP/hour then we won’t do it anyways!”
content should be rewarding, ppl dont play silverwastes for views or music but for rewards, this is a game, you should feel rewarded
if there wasn’t why did they start to ‘neglect’ dungeons?
I dont know. You dont know. A red post could answer but that’s to hard for their PR to say up front why they neglect a part of their community.
if you don’t like them, then don’t play out the story. there are plenty of other things which you can do in the game that doens’t involve the storyline. i personally love all of the characters, especially kasjory, and would be upset if they took out any of these characters.
achievement points and some exclusive rewards are gated bahind the story,
and this is the right of the customer to complain about the product especially if he explains why he doesnt like it; that being said your post lacks constructive arguments and it is basicaly “I like it so go away”
All official statements were about legendary weapons so I dont expect any new type of legendary gear.
In a game with such an emphasis on cosmetics, opening up the wardrobe is always a positive feature.
why
It lets you try more skins with less regret. Cant tell you how many times I haven’t got/tried a new skin that looked alright just because I didn’t want to regret it the next day and have to grind for an hour to change my look back. This is under the assumption of 10 minutes per transmute and I changed my entire armor look (which new looks tend to need).
from bussiness point of view this is a loss of constant income which is against logic
In a game with such an emphasis on cosmetics, opening up the wardrobe is always a positive feature.
why
Why not?
burden of proof is on you, because you used a very strong implication that it is ALWAYS a positive feature, now provide an explanation to your statement, this is how healthy ppl discuss
The amount of hate in this topic is over 9000!!!!
New Legendaries? Good
New way to get a precursor? Good
New Map Rewards? Good
Untradable Legendaries/Precursors? Goodthis is all we know…no need to get on a rampage here, and even if it is a grind(the new way to get a precursor) just go to the old way…problem solved. I doubt it will take longer, it will take just as long…but will be something different to do for a change, who knows…just chill and enjoy the good news we have ^^ no need to look for something to complain…
some guys…
what we know this is going to be collection grind and some crafting, stop denying other customers’ right to voice opinions
it’s cool you like it however I dont understand why should I like it because of you
That’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. Guild Wars 2’s dungeons are currently dying specifically because of developer neglect. You can’t use the fact that they’re dying to justify continued neglect.
Or in other words, the question isn’t where dungeons are now, the question is where dungeons could be if they were getting proper attention.
It’s already been proven over and over again that dungeons and raids do still work for casual players. In fact, they can serve the needs of casual players better than open world content would — this follows from the fact that, aside from its associated rewards, there is no value that can be added to a piece of PvE content that will survive contact with a zerg.
And why do you think they pulled resources from it in the first place?
There must be a reason for it after all. You can’t really claim that the reason loads of people didn’t play dungeons six months after release was due to them being “neglected”.
excuse me what?
whare’s the data for dungeon exodus after 6 months?
In a game with such an emphasis on cosmetics, opening up the wardrobe is always a positive feature.
why
This game has much different model than GW1 and it was clear up front once you run the game.
GW1 had only 1 expansion and it was only because it was released instead of 4th campaign.
And GW2 gear is to be earned. What endgame gear you have to buy from gemstore?
Oh and plz give me this quote proving your claims they said we will never get an expansion. Pretty plz, I’m trying to treat you seriously.
1) I don’t have a problem with the game being different.
2) the campaigns are expasnions as well for the purposes we are discussing = further box sales.
3) look through the forums. Expansions were not supposed to be a part of the game. It was denied many times. They were probably swayed by popular opinion. Gem purchases were supposed to be their income other than box sales. I am not against expansions, but they changed the formula. Now that they are driven by more box sales the P2W model should be aborted.
1) Cool
2) No, they are not because they are stand alone games. Expansions need core game to work. This is why HoT has nothing to do with GW1 Prop, Fact or NF
You can assume nothing from forum posts. This is just a bit of community and usually it’s more concious part. The only informative data would be sale reports corelated with amount of trans charges bought with gold.
For skips as warrior you can swap for 1h sword for leap and swap back for dps weapon for a fight. To dodge properly you need to learn bosses – it’s a tip for every class. Most huge attacks have a telling so you know when to do this. You can also avoid attacks with gs3
The prestige for dancing with queen jennah
The amount of grind is going to be ridiculous. Can’t wait for threads about endless legendary grind.
There already are threads about the legendary grind. Most don’t get past the precursor and have to gold-grind for it. Or, worse, they get “everything but the precursor,” find out how much one costs, then get really, understandably ticked about it.
I know the case.
My point is the new threads about acquiring precursors from collections will be even more legendary.
The transmutation charge system shouldn’t exist at all but, considering it’s unlikely to go away, I think the option to purchase unlimited charges is a good compromise, and I think 2000 is a fair price.
why shouldnt it exist?
If anyone here that says they agree with the OP (NO DUNGEONS NO CASH) comes on here and meets me in meguuma after release (or proves they’re in expanion content), I’ll gladly give them 5G, at the cost of taking a screenshot proving that they didn’t actually agree with the OP.
This thread isnt for you but for anet to read. Who are you I should care about reporting to you my game activity? You are noone here. Only red posts matter.
The amount of grind is going to be ridiculous. Can’t wait for threads about endless legendary grind.
So, can you please not shove them down our throats?
Why is this always the complaint? Who gives a flying kitten what NPC’s are or are not with you? Nobody’s forcing you to care about them. Just do the quests and move along.
Since this is their story, their “lore”, they want us to care.
Well just to state my opinion on the matter, it’s kind of hard for the devs to make their story and lore something you’d care about if they don’t put that lore and story into the forefront to draw you into wanting to know more.
This is why such threads pop up, for ppl disappointed with lore/characters to voice their opinions. One day maybe, just maybe, we will see an improvement
1,000
2,000
4,000
5,000Price wouldn’t really be a thing to me if this was available. I probably wouldn’t go above 10,000 though. Permanent services like this, the hairstyles/banker/tp contracts and so forth are things I’d be happy to buy from the Gemstore.
technically you can, buy gems, convert to gold, buy from tp
