Thief is still viable as far as I can see, but by far the most hated profession (still). In a dungeon setting (if you pug) you will be kicked every now and then for no apparent reason so teaming up with guildies and friends is highly recommended.

PvP… uhh well. Depends on how good you are I suppose. But in my honest opinion you get the short stick as a thief compared to the other professions.

I’d still say download the game and play your thief as you like, maybe get a guild to run stuff with.

The same problems still persist. Some days no lag or dc at all but then it comes back with a vengeance another day (like today). I am always in a rush to get even a few pvp games done because I know the lag and dc problems might hit at any time.

At best I can finish 5-6 games without a dc. The inconvenient part of this is that the game is usually almost over just as I dc so I get no credit for it.

Today no problems logging in but well… no reason to log in as I know I’ll only dc again mid game and ruin it for everyone else. Joining a pvp game has become rather stressful because of this problem.

The new daily seems a bit repetitive (though not in the same manner as the old system). I hope they come up with new daily things in the future but I prefer this daily system to the old one.

Constant lag, skills/dodges ect not working at all or not activating for a long period of time, people running into walls, interacting with items happening with a delay of a few seconds or even minutes. If using a teleport skill it doesn’t activate properly and after the lagspike is over I am teleported back and forth a few times until settling.

I get alot of freezing also, and after the lagspike is over everything happens fast at once until I freeze again in less than a minute and the same happens. I disconnect every now and then after a lagspike (usually at least 2-3 times a day), and logging back in might take several minutes or I cannot login at all.

Sometimes the lagging and disconnecting stops for an hour or so but then starts again.

I’m not sure if it’s related but last night when this all happened again I checked the guild roster and got this message: “Your guild is currently unifying chapters. Please check back for updates shortly.”

It could be just because it’s early morning but to me that looks like a human at 0:15 turning into a sylvari?

My boyfriend and I started having the same issues three days ago, after Tangled Paths update. First we get horrible lag with skills and interacting with items, chat lag ect. then disconnect and unable to login or the loading screens take forever. However, disconnecting doesn’t do anything to the lagging issues which can persist for hours after we’ve already dc’d once or twice.

Funny enough, the issues start about the same time every evening (peak hours I suppose), give or take an hour. It’s not our internet connection. This makes the game unplayable.

Same here. Everytime I click on the story journal on my ranger the game freezes.

I had this earlier today and after some 20mins I finally got the message ‘roster not found’ and my characters got unstuck. The pvp map I was on was Legacy of the foefire also.

I only played 3 games today and twice it disconnected me and gave me the connection error message with a white screen and the game restarted. Sometimes I can’t get back in right away and it gives me the white screen again and I wait for some 5mins to restart the game. I’ve had no problems in pve so far.

I am unable to use scarecrow or mad king finishers to get A stomping good time-achievement as my finisher resets back to my rank finisher constantly. I haven’t been previewing any other finishers.

I too am concerned about obtaining these armor skins and I think it would be nice if you could first complete one set before moving onto the other armor pieces. I don’t much care for the hellfire armor personally but I adore the radiant chest and leggings. Such a shame they’re forever out of my reach, at least that’s what it looks like at the moment. I sure hope Anet has a plan for the AP system, currently it seems every new achievement yields you around 3-5 pts with a few exceptions.

Maybe he’s using the sword now because Mord has the charr fighting on two (or more) fronts? I don’t know, I find the charr very practical, I’d think they would have done this long ago… unless the majority of them didn’t know the curse can be broken.

My question is: how long will they want to maintain the uneasy truce with humans if Rytlock succeeds? One less foe for them to fight, they might just pick up sword against humans again. Though that would kind of be counter-productive to the main story I suppose…

You can blame the masses for unoriginal stories really. Everything is a rip off from something else because… it sells.

I find GW1 storyline more original than GW2 storyline but if you stray from the main story for a second you find lots and lots of original little stories all over the maps. Don’t walk around blindfolded, you might miss something really cool

^this. I got downed by a mordrem wolf whilst inside Kasmeer’s feedback bubble and to my horror my downed skills (I was on my warrior) didn’t harm the wolf at all. So of course I died

I actually enjoyed the puzzle and the goggles, got it on my third try after a friend told me where to aim. I spent around two hours just portaling people up to the goggles before I even got it myself, mostly the same people who kept failing the dive.

I didn’t see anyone complaining about the jump though, everyone was just laughing at splatting dead below since others would revive them anyway and I’d portal them back up if they so wanted.

Yes the dive is tricky, but they did warn us they were making harder achievements. It feels like you actually achieved something when you get it right and that’s why I personally enjoyed it.

I’m currently making Rodgort, only a few obby shards left. I want it because it looks like it’s got something to say with its mouth opening and closing

But really, no one else will care about me having it but myself and I’m sure I’ll grow bored of it eventually. It’s just pixels anyway. No bragging rights there^^

Haven’t they already said ‘no’ on this… I don’t see the charm of ponies and horses and whatnots when everyone would have one.

I wouldn’t use AP as a measurement of skill. In most of my own dungeon runs the people between 1k-3k AP have often proved more skilled than the ones with over 5k AP.

But yeah, it’s very sad how much profession matters to players. Personally I don’t kick people unless they’re rude or don’t put in any effort whatsoever. I’ll say this though: too often I see rangers that refuse to swap off longbow even when asked and stand far away from the rest of the party. I feel it’s the same as with thieves: too many thieves are dead half of the dungeon so it gives the profession a bad image and the good players get kicked out of parties before they can even enter the dungeon.

Please, no nerfing dungeon rewards. It’s the only way for unlucky non-tp players to make at least a little money. The effort imo is in balance with the rewards.

Personally I kick people out of my party if they should use any offensive words or call someone a ‘noob’. There are simply more constructive ways to tell someone who is new what to do with their skills than simple ‘noob’. It’s not helpful, it’s always meant as an insult. Kick=problem solved.

I have also seen (presumably) new players asking ‘where the train is’ in Kessex Hills, probably because they think there’s one in every zone and it’s how you should play the game. It’s disheartening, at least to me.

Looking at the usual pug(s) I get for dungeons (discluding Arah/Fractals), I doubt they could handle the level of difficulty that were some of the GW1 dungeons, and if such dungeons were added in GW2 these people would feel left out. I don’t mind newbies and explaining mechanics but most pugs I get don’t even listen or follow the chat and end up dead and get carried through the whole run. Anet can fix and add dungeons but they can’t fix lazy/stupid.

Yeah same, though lately I’ve seen more and more real account names. Which naturally leads me to think they’re stealing accounts.

As far as I know, they steal accounts via email spam posts and probably from the people who make the mistake of buying gold/items from them.

I also noticed there were often two different skins for spears, spearguns and tridents for certain weapon families (Krytan for instance).

I would just like to pop in and say this (sorry if mentioned already somewhere): it doesn’t seem to matter what you throw in there, as long as it’s a rare lvl 75-80. My boyfriend threw in two rare hammers, one shortbow and a pistol and got the Legend in return. Though, he’s very lucky in general.

But still, based on that I would advice against buying exotics to throw into MF. Who knows, the precursor crafting to come (eventually) might be a better idea, or you know, Just buying your precursor with gold.

You are not alone. I never get anything and when I do it’s usually bittersweet, in my case that was Venom, the only precursor I ever got and I’ve played since the start. It was worth 20g at the time. All we can do is hope there’s someone out there who’s even unluckier than us.

I’ve had this on a couple of occasions when I’ve spent more time in certain jumping puzzles. It’s the only reason I haven’t revisited Scavenger’s chasm in Malchor’s leap as that seems to be the worst puzzle for me. I’d say it’s the tight spaces combined with sometimes awkward camera angles and movement. I have also started to hold the camera still by holding right mouse button while I jump, it helps a little.

To reiterate what Bobby was saying, both the female and male sylvari lines were recorded incorrectly, so the decision was made to not include that line for any race until they can be fixed.

I vote do not fix. Currently on my male Charrdian, I occasionally hear awesome lines by using HTL, such as “None shall pass!”,“We will not fall!”, “Confound the enemy!” and amusing lines like “Turrets overcharged!” and “Let’s get these supplies.”
I love them. Though, I do (rarely) get “Hold the Line!” even if you say it wasn’t included for any race :P

I agree. I love playing my male human guardian even more knowing at any second he might say something funny and make me and my teammates smile. Best one yet was something about ‘rocket boots’. The lines are awesome and I never want to stop hearing them

That last message on the missing-board broke my heart and I had this overwhelming need to go and find that virtual child so I could adopt them (pretty please?). Just writing this now makes the tears sneak back in my eyes. So thank you Anet, awesome work. Though I feel kind of silly now.

Edit: Braham could surely handle another child following him around. Right?

I’m not sure if it’s related or not but I went to the Heart of the mists this morning through Gendarran and my character seemed to be stuck on the loading screen there. After a few minutes it gave me the error message and restarted the game, after that I managed to get them out and evacuated to DR.

Whoever decided there should be holes on the bridges made my day. Nothing better than running away from a mob in panic and falling through a small gap, I laughed so hard Also I’m glad Evon survived, that cinematic got me worried…
