If you watch Shadowhunters on Netflix, you’ll find on the wall in Simon’s room a poster of Guild Wars: Eye of the North!
Simon is the nerdy accounting student smart mouth who, SPOILERS, becomes a vampire. It was very meta for me because I’m an accountant nerd who was playing Guild Wars 2 at that very moment split screen with Netflix. And I suppose I am a team vampire in a vampire/werewolf fight.

I deleted my first post after my change of heart.

OP here. I reskinned down to Storm but missed the glow and the footsteps too much and even missed the flashy projectiles, especially at night, so I changed it back happily.
I’d like to propose then the projectiles happen in the night cycle like the other changes to the scepter. Maybe still a full reverse on all scepter 3 skills for ele, because they were more detail than the electro blobs.

The swap would need a tell to another player like the rev legend swap. There are 12 terrestrial families and 5 archetypes, so that’s a lot to watch and adapt to for what will likely be an effect icon, and there’s already a lot of effect reading as it is. I’d rather a pet swap refreshed beast mode after leaving it.
The petless ranger would be pretty flavourless in-game. Besides, imagine having a dog and cat in your head at the same time…

Thanks for the skill pass-through. I think you found a lot of the traits I’d never select because they competed with better ones, or they were underwhelming, and made them something to consider and play with, particularly the signet traits, and a lot of revenant ones.
Ammo is great. Such a QOL improvement for the warrior axe, kick, bolas and daredevil distracting daggers.
I’ve liked the guardian changes. I’ll miss being able to cheese the underground fractal with the spirit shield, but making it more of a reaction skill will be good everywhere else. They’ll be very reliable now. Applying light aura with staff 2 added some nice flavor.
Ele conjures are a lot more fun for at least casual play. I don’t know about the water arrow charges, but let’s see how it goes.
Hopefully ranger spirits will have a rethink one day. Maybe effects like the Siren’s Landing Dirges affecting allies and enemies.
Necro – crazy Spectral changes. A lich sucking player vitality. Nice.
Thanks again. Drudge through all the complaints a little stronger now.
All Professions Level 80
It’s an improvement. Adds a bit of flavor to PVE. It’s definitely a lot better without charges. That alone made the shield something to play with. It doesn’t disappear in 10 seconds.

The tooltip of Lock-on (Engineering trait) says it will analyze when we are in stealth now, when it used to be if you struck someone in stealth. In game right now, it’s not applying revealed when I’m in stealth. Please check.

Hopefully the balance pass, which I see was looking at costs as well, has looked at the utility stations from Living World Season 1 rewards. (Sharpening Stone, Tuning Crystal, Maintenance Oil feasts – Have old Lion’s Arch models for the stations.
The amount of ascended mats is way too high since legendary journeys were added to the game. Should be equal in price to other feasts.

Royal Terrace. The original prestige (re: elite) item. Great location for DR festivals, decorated for Wintersday. Watch the bouncer kick out trespassers. Free WP to home instance. Compact crafting area. Central location.
My dream for Havocs air was it would move to the newest map. It’s wasted being so close to LA.

I’m a fan of this living world team. They’ve made my favorite maps. You feel the different zones again like in BFrost. The smarter AI is back. Pre-events before bosses is good; better than the boss fading into the game. I fear most people still don’t know who this exemplar is if they didn’t play GW or, like me, watch a youtuber talk about her.

Up vote to revert Meteorlogicus, at least for elementalist. I never took this to be a lightning legendary, but a nature/weather legendary, so I need the water skills to be water, and the stones to be stones, and a Phoenix is a fire bird, not a blue blob.
I actually played through the episode with a dagger instead because I didn’t want to focus on the change.

Just a note to anet. The Tarnished Exalted under Tarir and the traitor need some lore/relevance. Do the Exalted really sweep their invalids under the city like it seems?
There’s no precedence for these beings of magic to be morally flawed beyond their previous human natures, which I believe were tested in their transformations, weren’t they? What did the traitor do, and how was he punished before players invaded the city and beat him every 2 hours?

It hasn’t addressed if the tier 2 weapons will be available at a vendor like the armor, but at least they are in the forefront of their minds.
All Professions Level 80
I didn’t see anything mentioned in the post about being able to acquire the mistforged weapons. As tournaments are not a reliable method ( haven’t had one in 3 years!), I’m hoping these are added to rewards instead.

I would love for this skill to work. I don’t think it’s ever worked 100%, but it’s been better.
It’s very apparent in Bitterfrost Frontier while on the ice. I don’t know if it’s because of drakes under the ice that it tries to tether to, but in my experience, if you walk to one of the Kodan patrol groups, and activate it right in the middle of the 4 enemies, it might tether to the Veteran Kodan, and nothing else.
I’ve also experienced a tether expire early on a golem in the AOE test area.
I’m sure play testing it will find lots of times it’s not reliable.

Someone else found this in map chat, but I haven’t seen this in the forums yet.
If you go to the shore north of Frothing Pedestal, you can find a dead Largos.
There’s nothing else around.
So who, what, where, when, why and how?

Sounds like it was the Superior Rune of the Mad King effect scaled on a large creature.

I actually had to stop playing the game for the night because of how this episode ended. It was really disappointing. To hear two of the big bads were put back to sleep and that’s probably the best course of action, has me fearing those stories are done now. Zhaitan had more personality than the two we met.
I did a lot of aimless wandering of the map trying to find where the apex was when it was just a big green circle. I explored most of the map trying to get there, and earned the mastery, which now appears is not needed to get there.
I like the maps mix of fauna, hearts and events. There does seem to be a lot to do in it.
With the story done though, we’re just going to ignore the spirit who told us to leave, and farm the map forever more? Seems a silly thing to tell the player.
I’m feeling like it’s a 2 out of 5 stars.
All Professions Level 80
Congrats to the team if they’ve made the most functional armor assets they could. The medium and light sets are using silhouettes and themes seen before though. Medium looks like the hexed outfit while light reminds me of the crystal arbiter.
But it’ll be good to see them animate, try different dyes, maybe mix and match, and hopefully become a reward for other achievements.
It looks like the pieces to get for the biggest impact are the heavy helm and boots, and the heavy and light shoulders.

I’d suggest finding an open guild to join. Scribing costs have come down from launch and the guild halls have a couple secret rooms you can claim for your own. I myself have a corner in Guilded Hallow with 3 floors, a fireplace, and a dock!

No seriously. Maybe it’s s server thing, but you finish an event in Dragon Stand for example and you can see corpses persist for a minute or so.

Do you think the second sphere of influence plot device will be dropped? Will we learn that Primordus has absorbed mind and shadow influences too?
Do you think these magics are compatible? I like the rotting destroyers, thinking the nature and death magics war inside those destroyers for a new effect. But what if fire and ice merged in the ice brood? Fire immunity or puddles everywhere? I wonder how much control the dragon is having on the mix of magics in its destroyers. Seeing we have fire/death, nature/fire and all 3 (rotting) this seems a plausible point.
All Professions Level 80
How about if the spirits become astral wisps and circle the ranger, making them mobile and passive/active effect centered on the ranger? Circling wisps are certainly doable in the tech. Animation can be minimal or non-existent, allowing sun spirit’s blind to be instant, like it should be, and frost and earth actives dropping under the ranger for ice combo field or to help in escapes.
The wisps could each have a colour indicating the type of spirit, and Spirit of Nature would be larger in size.
To spread them out, I’d suggest sun and storm around the shoulders, (sky) and frost and earth near the floor (ground). Spirit of Nature floating around the head maybe.
All Professions Level 80
In a world where we’ve seen a dragon’s mouth can be a separate entity from the dragon, (see Mouth of Zhaitan) I wouldn’t call a mouth the dragon itself. It’s a curious choice of words if it is the dragon. Why not call it the head of Mordremoth, or simply Mordremoth? Perhaps then the fight in the dream should have been called the mind of Mordremoth. Thoughts?
All Professions Level 80
Remember that the Pact had every intention of using a big air raid but Modremoth had the power to reach out instantaneously and take down every ship in one go. No, Modremoth had to be fought in a different way from Zhaitan. Air raids may not work against any other dragon even. I think all remaining dragons could cause elements to erupt from the ground to take out a fleet. Icicles, volcanoes, crystal shards, water tentacles.
The pacing with Modremoth was so chock full of droughts though, you forget he took out the fleet, two forts, town of prosperity, corrupted a player race, and empowered the White Mantle after his death. Zhaitan wasn’t nearly as devestating. He populated uninhabited lands, and took Claw Island. Corrupted a krait tower and made the PC face his own personal fear. His rising caused a tidal wave that perhaps unintentionally wiped out Lions Arch.
All Professions Level 80
I believe there was an article about mordrem guard and they do indeed remember everything which made them so dangerous for the pact because they knew all the tactics they would use. We know they can be cleansed because of Twitchy and Glint, but if they would keep their appearance or revert back to Sylvari, who knows? And what ideals they might have when they submitted and accepted Mordremoth’s will, who’s to say?
All Professions Level 80
Wouldn’t a cleansed Risen fall over dead? The thing that makes them move around is the dragon energy.
Look to the Arah Forgotten dungeon path and Twitchy the chicken. It is still up and moving. However I don’t think the risen would be a great playable race. I think most would be mindless. Cleansing the undead will not make them living either. There’s a spirit in game very upset that her body is carrying on and killing others. Surviving family would probably like the risen to have peace. The more powerful undead with a chance of having a personality after cleansing are often so monsterous, their models wouldnt work in current profession skills. Visions of Eyes of Zhatain doing a warriors hundred blades. No.
But thank you OP, I did have to think on this. It had me thinking what separates the risen from sylvari. Or mordrem to be exact when they are copied from corpses. But I think mordrem are life. Blighted and pale tree pods do seem to be an embryonic sac. The risen are minions. The mordrem; servants and slaves.
All Professions Level 80
What is canon for Modremoths appearance? HOT media shows 3 different looks and the wiki seems to confuse the mouth of mordremoth with the dragon itself. To the best of my knowledge, the game hasn’t explained what the mouth of Modremoths is and just what exactly it is connected to. What part of Modremoth is that giant tree in Dragon Stand? I understand the HOT trailer is NOT canon which is too bad because that vine dragon was the coolest.
Canach at one point says they have been like fleas on his back which I thought was a great descriptor. We see rivers of vines in dragon stand and Verdant Brink and wouldn’t that be cool if that was actually Mordremoths body, spanning 4 maps? But on the Ley energy map, we see Mordremoth is in his corner making a signature no bigger than Tarir or Rata Novus. Considering how out of date that map is, could he have become bigger since then?
Also it is said the tendrils that don’t move are part of Modremoth itself and we’ve seen them as far as The Iron Marches.
So is Mordremoth just a writhing pile of vines? Is he whatever he wanted us to see? Hence why we can only kill him in his mind?

I know it’s a lot to ask but can the invisible walls on the Groves eastern edge be removed so we can glide beyond them. Then at the point it breaks the game, port the player to the Warden cells at the bottom of the Grove like what happens in Rata Sum. Bunk us with the ettin for “trolling”. :p

Per the title, there is nothing to do in tangled depths but a sort of champion train caused by too-frequent-to-feel-progressive end game events. The balance I feel is available to verdant brink and auric basin is lost to tangled depths.
Please add more secret/rare events to other areas of the map to find.

Dropping a total of 30some ascended tier crafting materials only to get an exotic does not feel good.l when you only need 6-10 for a regular ascended item. Farming all those low tier mats is not fun day in and day out.
I suggest an increase to ascended level for the perfected weapon and a small stat selection. The precursor should get a full selection of stat choices but cannot be changed until made a legendary.
The experimental weapon I begrudgingly accept as an exotic in the interest of showing progression.

I’ve just confirmed my character’s mouth moves when a legend speaks.
Is this/Will this be acknowledged in Revenant lore?
Might we have legends speak to us through Rytlock or will he just play the messenger?
I seem to recall it was described more as if they were living inside your head talking to you though revenant skills do show they can manifest in our world.

Elite Specializations & Hero Point Feedback [Merged]
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns
Posted by: Matt H.6142
Although that feeling of achievement is well diminished, I think this is a good change. I don’t think it was good gameplay to rush to all the easy HP points with every one of my alts, skipping all the meta, and possibly being handicapped in WvW to want to play an elite spec. I think this was a large part of why a lot of events felt unmanned the first weekend as everyone was off with their own agendas to level up and complete their maps. (the weird megaserver behaviour also could have been a factor.) Again, another grind if you have all 8 professions (or multiples) to do.
Although between all the HP points (which I’ll probably only complete 3 times max for the legendaries) and the WvW notary, I fear Hero Points will become the skill points of yesteryear.

Corruption traitline needs some rework if this is staying the current state of Mallyx.
Resistance when using demon stance trait offers very little utility. EtD should still pulse out any condis on you. Otherwise, rework Pain Absorption.
I’d like the condition mechanics returned, as I really liked the bonus conditions. This could be achieved with ‘sticky’ condis like a risen drake’s Ichor affect. These affects cannot be cleansed by anyone else and maybe convert to regular conditions when copied to foes.

Some weird interactions with the druid. Avatar meter can be charged with staff when targeting anything allied. It even appeared to raise it with no target, but I wondered if it was targeting a wall.
Wisps often spawned with me when resurrecting at a waypoint when traited.
Without the staff, avatar is slow to charge.
Often felt after running 4 and 5 in avatar state, there wasn’t anything left to do with it.
Feel most druidic using wilderness survival skills than glyphs.
Felt the wyverns seemed to bound around their target as opposed to attacking it.

I liked the hammer. Gyro toolbelt skills are good. Bulwarks was a little bit of help against the troops of asura rifle berserkers plaguing Sunday. The gyros themselves of course need to be able to keep pace better.
I found myself rooted after rocket charge a couple times, even after the final impact, which was no good when I was retreating said asura rifle berserkers.
