I’d rather not say anything but that boon corrupt will be a massive, massive buff. The auto attack chain is pretty quick. If you sit at a distance and just auto attack on a target, you will be able to wreck almost anyone, especially if they’re boon heavy. You get a bleed, poison, and 1 extra condi from a simple auto attack. Not only will the enemy’s boon get removed (super quickly), but it will become a condi. This can be anything from confusion to 3 stacks of bleeds to weakness and is seriously good for cover condis… not to mention it can turn stability into a fear, which is a hard CC AND chills, and the chill can deal damage. If you mix in Feast of Corruption’s Torment on top of that.. it will be really, really good. Basically, the boon-heavy meta will change drastically. I agree the buff is sort of… random. I’m not against it… I love the idea of more boon corrupts (boons are annoying anyway), especially against boon-spamming builds (and perma-stability Revenants), but this buff will be pretty kitten strong.

Luckily only bad players resort to playing the spec, so in the meantime, just kill them and /laugh.

True… but no matter how bad you are… you really only need to click on a target and press 2 and you will win. The game will auto attack for you and the rest is you just pressing 2 from 1200 range. I love skillful things.

^^^ not a bug. Drarnor already said it, but that’s actually its functionality (4% LF). They just forgot to update the skillfact because #TooBusyOrSomething#Anet

I think the CD is fine with spectral mastery. It gives a free Chaos Armour and confusion bolts. And with Reaper, you don’t need Terror… or Master of Terror… you only need the fear because fear = chill = DoT and might and lifeforce.

I use the wall in WvW because imo it’s just too valuable… but I am not sure about sPvP because that’s a different beast. Arguably, you don’t need wall to survive in sPvP and when perma stab-revenants run around… it’s a hard life. Although I havent used it in sPvP in some time.

I tested the same thing the other day with the runes… it makes the well a super quick cast (0.5 secs).
I think you could easily start casting the well, then cancel the cast and get some slow skill out of it (chilled to the bone, for example, or life siphon).
Or you could start casting the well, then before it finished, go into shroud and cast Soul Spiral (with the quickness) or Executioner’s Scythe (with quickness)… or even just auto attack.
I didn’t test it…but the quickness might apply with the trait that casts Well of Blood when you res someone…

I think there’s potential there but it’s a lot of micromanaging (similar to canceling auto-attacks from Mesmer GS to maximize DPS).

I just stumbled upon the antitoxin runes giving -24% condi duration. Then -20% from food, and the movement reduction trait…
Do you feel its enough to only have a 30s Consume and a mark?

Yeah it makes you realllllyy hard to lock down with slows/immobs, especially while in DS. When I played normal Necro I haaaaatteeedd being rooted and that was often a sure way to die in an outnumbered fight because sometimes there was no time to transfer it because you’re rooted, then hard-CCed so no Putrid Mark or heal to cleanse the root :/
So when I saw Sweet Bean Buns and Relentless Pursuit… I knew >:) In my opinion so far, I feel like if the enemies aren’t condi, the condis they do throw at you will be really insignificant to the point where half the time I don’t even use Putrid Mark. In many fights I see condis on me and by the time I decide to cast Putrid Mark they’re all gone or not even worth transferring so I just resorted to using Putrid Mark as a blast for the wall or ice field. But when I do fight condi specs, sometimes I notice that their condis stick for a long time. I fought a condi chronomancer once who put 9 confusion on me and although my build has 44% reduction, it still stayed on me for a good 10 secs. Another time I noticed long condis was when I fought a condi Reaper who had really long bleed (I suspect Krait Runes maybe). If I’m being completely honest, I’m not 100% sure if the mark and heal is enough cleanse when fighting another condi spec. Surprisingly I haven’t ran into that many condi people and I don’t wanna talk out my @$$. I think if you took Plague Sending, then you should be more than fine tho. Sorry for the ramble X_X

Condi Reaper is amazing – might given Path of Corruption a try.

I usually run, Well of Darkness, Spectral Wall and Suffer in my utilities.

Ty sir If you have Geforce GTX 660M, 670MX, 675MX, 680M, 700M or higher, then your driver should come with Shadowplay which is a geforce program that records your stuff without a single drop in FPS. My FPS would drop if I used Fraps though.

I didn’t think Path of Corruption would be as good, but after fighting Scrappers, Tempests and Druids (who cleanse like crazy and have a poop-ton of boons) I felt like something in the build wasn’t quite there. Then Lynnie suggested I try Path of Corruption and I think it’s a LOT better than Terror. You get a lot of cover condis by corruption two of their boons, and you can get nice condis out of it (3 confusion from corrupting retal, or 3 bleeds from corrupting vigor).

Do you use Well of Darkness with Chilling Darkness?

I got the amulet from finishing all Act 4 achievements in HoT. The plan is to have something along the lines of this, but Trailblazer is bugged at the moment… It would have more toughness, same condi dmg, and 8% more condi duration than what I currently have. Of course a few things could always be changed around for preference (for example swapping some Trailblazer for Dire or Rabid).

Also… keep in mind that Sweet Bean Buns are not actually 25% condi duration and -40%. They’re 15% condi duration and -20%.

Edit: I just messed around with the stats and it seems that going full Trailblazer armour, weapons and amulet seems like a good option as well. More condi dmg but less condi duraiton.

The people I run into never fall for Spectral Walk jukes lol. Of course, in T1, it’s either 50+ with zerg builds or 10 with roaming builds.

Depends who you fight I think. Usually roaming guild groups know how to react to it, but they still split their people so a few of em chase and a few of em wait back…. but then again, I think you’d have a hard time against a roaming guild group no matter what you play. I never tried tier 1 though.

Whoever tells you Revenants aren’t OP in WvW is just trying to be a special snowflake by stating the opposite of the truth in an attempt to try to sound like a good player (“yeah, that’s not a problem for me, hue hue hue”) or an attempt to somehow make themselves feel better or superior. There’s no rocket science. Revenant hammer is OP in WvW.

And no… elementalists with a staff do not come even close. A glass ele with a staff dies from a breeze. A glass power Revenant is a nearly a bunker. One is balanced, the other is not.

Looking for critique on my PvP build

I think the choice of amulet + Runes is really strong. I would probably not run 2 on-swap sigils. I think energy + another sigil is the best way to go (imo). Chilling Darkness can be nice but in sPvP I think Plague Sending is just better because there’s so many condis flying around… but then again you do have dagger as a transfer as well.

I think Terror is decent since you have such high condi duration and use Spectral Wall, but on the other hand you don’t have any boon corrupts. Path of Corruption + Chilling Darkness can pump out a lot of condis from just DS #2 (Blind, Chill + 2 other condis).

I think Spectral Mastery can be super strong since you’re taking both Spectral Armour and Spectral Wall – both can make you tank nicely. Spectral Mastery also buffs your Last Grasp.

I think you’d have to play it and see how you do with it because sometimes you don’t know what you lack until you’re in the situation (i.e. no wurm to disengage, etc.)

I dunno, cuz reducing its CD could be nice if you couple it with Path of Corruption…
but the way it is now, if you land it well it completely demolishes boon-heavy targets from 1200 distance, and if it was only 3 boons you’d lose this burst.

I think what’s keeping Corrupt Boon from having a lower cooldown is Master of Corruption trait…. which is kinda dumb cuz I don’t think anyone even takes that… not to mention the self-damage is insane. No one in their right mind would waste Putrid Mark or Plague Signet just because they used a utility… >.> and if you don’t have those transfers up you’re kittened.

They should completely change Master of Corruption so they can reduce Consume Conditions by 5 secs and Corrupt Boon by a nice amount too :P

I’m currently using this on my Necro. Had about 12 matches with it and it performed really really well… and it doesn’t use VP.
(reminiscent of the old Terrormancer – 100% fear duration cuz why not?)

Corrupt boon is just insane here… with all the stability going around. Two sec fear on down can be nice too, most people die from it… and the down-state fear is 4 secs xD

I think VP is amazing because it makes you a lot more tanky and your skills are recharged almost every time you go into DS, but I’m not sure how necessary it is. Without it… I feel like there’s less DS and you can feel it deplete faster, but it’s not all too bad. You can be fine with Spectral Mastery with 2+ spectral skills (not to mention SWalk becomes godly with Spectral Mastery), and so far it seems to be okay in the build I’m using above… but there’s no denying VP is amazing.

I think Curses needs some cover-condis built into it. It probably won’t happen, but it’s one of the things that makes Spite so good – Spite has a ton of cover condi, so even if your target has condi clears, they will remove your bleeds less often…. in other words you deal more dmg…

If barbed precision was torment instead of bleed, that would be interesting.

One warning though!!! Crafting an exotic inscription and trying to apply Trailblazer stats on your random ascended armour through the mystic forge does NOT work at the moment… and the crafting materials are expensive as hell.

Having the exact same problem. Spent over 50 gold (and was going to spend 70 more) to craft exotic insignias only to encounter the same exact problem as you guys. The Stat swap worked for Vipers, so the “4 stats” aren’t the issue…

Why is there no counterplay to rev skills?

There really is very little counterplay.
“dodge 2 times” . Seriously.. dodge twice? That’s your counterplay? Ok so the Revenant uses hammer, which does like 10000k in and of itself, so you have to use dodges to dodge the hammer’s spammable and super hard-hitting skills, and then all of the sudden boom, you get 2 more dodges to dodge Unrelenting Assault. Kewl. (Or dodging glint skills, which hit hard as well. Or Surge of the Mists, which wrecks you if landed well).

Second: “Interrupt the 3/4 cast time”. Last time I checked, Revenants had quickness. This reduces the cast time to like 1/3 of a second, which is basically instant-cast. Good luck interrupting that.

Third: stealth. pl0x give Necro, Warrior, Ranger (longbow doesn’t count when your target is evading), Elementalist and Guardian stealth. Oh wait… they don’t really have any. Ok…
Unless for Ranger/Guard #TrapperRunes but come on -_-

Block/Evade/invuln with a skill: This is actually a reasonable counterplay, imo because most professions do have some kind of evade/block/invuln. The problem is not all of them do (or not all builds do), and for those that don’t, they’re screwed.

A good counterplay can be going near allies where the damage is spread out. In team fights this skill is not THAT dangerous, but in a 1v1 it’s pretty stupid. Then again, this is not a 1v1 game. /shrug

BUG Trailblazer's Stat Swap [Merged]

Hello all,

Currently when you have an exotic insignia, you can transmute the stats of your ascended armour piece into the stat combination of the exotic insignia.

So if you had Ascended Berserker pants, you need the Rabid exotic gossamer insignia, 5 Ectos, Anthology of Heroes, and voila, your Ascended Berserker pants are now Ascended Rabid pants.

HowEVER…. this does NOT work with a Trailblazer insignia. The insignia doesn’t even show up in the mystic forge and cannot be transmuted onto your desired armour piece.

Just a quick correction to the above post… condi damage is more easily countered than power damage. If you pin a group of condi people against a group of shouters (warrior/guardian/now even tempest or Necro), the condi damage will be completely insignificant. Play as a condi build against a team with a shout guardian and a shout warrior on the same team and tell me how wonderful your damage is when those two are in the same fight. Your damage output will be close to 0. Not to mention you could mix in a Revenant with Mallyx giving everyone Resistance too.

You can complain in the same manner about Dragonhunter trappers. Passive gameplay. You can easily complain about Chronomancers, power Revenants… even boon-spamming scrappers which are super hard to kill and still deal nice damage.

Learn to play against condis and learn to avoid the hard hitting skills (like Reaper’s Soul Spiral). People don’t like dying slowly from a few stacks of bleed, but it’s the same thing dying from 10 bleeds as it is being instakilled by a Mesmer shatter or DH trap.

Great video, mate. Your reaper really looks like uncatchable.
I would only change a thing in your build and it would be parasitic contagion. As long that doesn’t heal in shroud, yet, is not worth taking, imo. I hope someday they’ll change it.

Haha, I wish the food was still -40% though.. that would be crazy. There’s Sweet Bean Buns tho (+25% condi duration, -40% condi duration on you) but that’s expensive as hell and I’m already barely scraping by XD

Hmm yeah it makes the trait a lot weaker since it doesn’t work in shroud, especially since Soul Spiral is such high dmg… imagine getting heals from that O.o
I’ll have to try playing without Parasitic Contagion and see how that pans out. Weakening Shroud would probably be better in a group anyway :P

Unfortunately I didn’t get the full set yet. I only have the helmet, chest piece and amulet
I think it’s bugged so you can’t get the insignia and inscriptions but I think there’s a fix on the way for that.

Hello!

It has been centuries since I made a WvW video with Necro. I haven’t been solo roaming with Necro in a long, long time but Reaper has made it REALLY fun. I don’t think I’ve had this much fun with Necro in WvW in… ages. Even put my Revenant on the shelf to collect some dust :P

The build is very tanky and in my opinion it’s more optimal for group fights but it still rocks solo. Since they nerfed condi duration and what not, I went with Giver’s weapons and a combination of Trailblazer stats and rabid. I did this so I could use the -18% condi duration food, instead of Koi cakes. With Antitoxin Runes, food, and Relentless Pursuit, I have 43% reduction to all condis, and 76% reduction to slows/immobs while normal form and over 100% reduction of slows/immobs while in Shroud. In other words – very uncatchable – and one of the biggest gripes I had with normal Necro was the constant immobs and not being able to do anything about it.

Since I went with a more defensive trait combination, I decided to pick up Chilling Darkness instead of Plague Sending. Plague sending is amazing, but with the condi reduction in this build, so far I haven’t felt that condis were that dangerous (yet…), and Chilling Darkness provides some nice damage (Death’s Charge does AoE chill, and Plague pulses chill as well).

I am still on the fence between Terror and Path of Corruption. Terror is nice because it makes Spectral Wall really dangerous (chill+fear). Same with Staff#5. But Path of Corruption would be a spammable (and AoE?) boon corrupt which can be really powerful. Along with Chilling Darkness, Death’s Charge could become really strong, but I still didn’t test Path of Corruption in this build. I also use Parasitic Contagion because I personally notice a drop in my sustain when I don’t take it. Consume Conditions has a long cooldown and waiting 30 secs for the only source of heal is harsh.

I realize the condition damage is not as high, but in theory all the might I get from hitting chilled people brings the condi damage back up (same with Antitoxin Runes, which give 5 might).
In the video I also did not use Hydromancy Sigils (I used Torment). I think hydromancy would probably be better than Torment. Sure, torment is a nice cover-condi, but hydromancy = chill = dmg = might = lifeforce, and since Shroud counts as a weapon swap, every time you entered Shroud you’d AoE chill, and then you can slam them with your scythe to get some nice might and lifeforce when Shroud #5 is not up.

Edit: Trailblazer inscriptions (and insignias) can be bought from Nuhoch vendors. When I made this video this was bugged so they weren’t available and I was only able to get 2 armour pieces from doing the story/achievements. I also got an ascended Trailblazer amulet by finishing all Act 4 achievements (lets you choose whatever stats you want).
The full completed build is supposed to look like this, WITH Bean Buns (Bean Buns give the nice -20% condi reduction but on top of that give +15% condi duration for me, which is amazing. They’re super expensive though. They were nerfed now so they’re not as strong as in the build maker but they’re still amazing imo

I agree that Chilling Darkness is kinda iffy. I think it needs something along with it – maybe a chance to blind a target when performing an action? (on top of what it already does). Or a chance to immob targets when blinding them or something.
I actually use this trait in WvW now and I’m having quite a bit of success with it with Plague and Death’s Charge (which blinds and is spammable). With enough chill duration the chill lasts pretty long (for me it’s a bit over 3 secs) and you get lots of might with Chilling Victory (Plague becomes pretty beastly with the damage and might and lifeforce generation). I think it also has potential for hybrid builds that use GS but I’ve never tried that. BUT… yeah, compared to Plague Sending… yeah.

I also agree that Terror is kinda weak. Terrormancer used to have really high fear duration but now Spite gives no condi duration and imo Fear of Death is really not worth it when compared to the two other traits. But then again, imagine doing 2-sec fears on top of Deathly Chill – scary damage. I suppose burning is similar in that regard though (burst condi damage) so it may not be as crazy as it seems.
I think Terror needs some kind of buff. On normal Necro, I ended up not even taking Terror half the time. On Reaper I still think Terror is decent, especially with something like Spectral Wall (fear dmg + chill dmg – but that’s kinda niche) but if one learned how to use Death’s Charge better, Path of Corruption could easily outshine it.

I actually think Parasitic Contagion can be very strong with Reaper (if chill does 800 damage per sec and you hit 5 people, that’s already 400 health per sec. Mix in other condis and the healing is really nice). Howeva’ …. I don’t know if I could ever see this trait making it into sPvP.

Other than that, I agree that for a condi/hybrid Reaper in sPvP, at the moment Spite outshines Curses, which is kinda funny. Spite provides so much cover condi and such massive vuln output that Curses seems like a much poorer choice.

Can someone confirm if there is a cap on it ? What about Necromantic Corruption , capped too ?

There is no cap on the number shown on the Flesh of the Master icon I think. Maybe the actual toughness it gives is capped though.

I think the theoretical maximum of minions is the sum of:
1 (blood fiend)
2 (bone minions)
1 (bone fiend or flesh wurm or shadow fiend)
6 (rise)
5 (mark of horror)
2 (death nova)
=
17

Although most MMs run Flesh Golem and not Lich Form so the maximum would be 13.

Edit: I noticed my calculations might actually be slightly wrong for some reason. I was playing with Blood Fiend, Rise, Bone Minions, Signet of the Locust, Flesh Golem and Death Nova so the maximum should’ve been 12 but Flesh of the Master said 13 at some point.

I actually wonder how a Lich MM would work out… you’d have so many minions it’d be crazy xD

I am not sure whether there is a cap on Flesh of the Master – there doesn’t seem to be. I used Runes of the Lich for that one extra little minion, but I’m not really sure if it counts towards Flesh of the Master or not. Either way, that’s a whole lot of toughness, life stealing and condi clears coming from the minions, I’m surprised there aren’t groups of Reaper Minion Masters running around :P

Still have to test this properly, but if DS/RS count as a weapon swap, there’s potential that they have the same dodge-cancelling effect as when you swap weapons mid dodge. I’ll test this tonight, fingers crossed. If entering or leaving shroud cancels your dodge many-a-capillary in eye will burst.

First Reaper nerf of the expansion!

I dunno if this has been suggested before, but what about “Outgoing boons to allies give you lifeforce / health”?
That would make Mark of Blood a lot stronger (5% lifeforce, and would be nice with Mark of Evasion from Blood Magic as well), and would work with Well of Power really well, for example. Each pulse of the well would be a potential 5% lifeforce (granted no 5 man team would cluster on top of a well but still).
It would have interesting interactions with certain runes as well (Runes of the Pack give 3 boons AoE, for a potential of 15% lifeforce) or other runes which give off AoE boons. It still wouldn’t be as strong as pre-nerf though. I can’t see it being OP tho, just more useful.

I played a little bit of it but don’t have any footage of it … It felt really good in sPvP and WvW though. We had 2 condi Reapers at one point and it was like mowing the lawn xD

In light of the recent Mallyx nerf, I think it’s time for Shiro to follow suit. Just kidding.
Here’s a video showing some fun stuff Shiro can do in WvW. Keep in mind this was my 1st time in WvW with Revenant (I only did about 50 sPvP matches) and I do realize I make mistakes

Shiro is quite amazing, and I think right now, Shiro is in a state in which Mallyx was before BWE3. In other words, it has that one skill which is a little over the top – Phase Traversal (used to be Unyielding Anguish with Mallyx but was nerfed). This skill is really, really….. really…. good for mobility. I dunno whether it’s too much or not because revenant doesn’t really have too much mobility which doesn’t require a target, but if a Revenant DOES have a target, he/she can move around the map extremely quickly to the point of being un-escapable… or un-catchable, unless you’re being chased by another Revenant that is…

Nevertheless, it’s super fun! Revenant is quickly climbing to the top of my list. It’s a very well made profession. It feels incredibly smooth and well thought out. Hope you enjoy!

I’m doing some cross comparison end of March damage screen data collection between the two amulets so I’ll report what I find at some point and how much better it is after tomorrow.

How much damage do you usually do per match? From what I’ve found using carrion so far, power does a significant proportion of damage throughout a match. One kinda bad match I did 20k more power dps than condi dps even.

It will be interesting to see. Is there a way to see how much total damage you take as well?

Wow… hmm… I don’t usually look at my stats in a match. I will try to look it over when I get to play next (hopefully today when I finally get home -_- … so stoked… )

It bothers me alot that terror and path of corruption are on the same level, and the fear duration trait isnt merged with terror…
Regarding the last fight, really good played, i don’t know why people say warrior is soft counter to necro, they can be kited fairly easily.

Yeah Spiteful Spirit is pretty underrated in my opinion. It provides nice cripple (as a cover condi), a boon corrupt and retal is actually kinda nice too.
I agree that the choice between Path of Corruption and Terror is not really… ideal. I feel like the damage from Terror really isn’t all that great on condi Necro right now, and Master of Terror isn’t worth taking imo (Vital Persistence is so much better). I also think that Spiteful Spirit works well with Path of Corruption too cuz that’s 3 boons corrupted almost every time you go into DS, which is pretty nice :P
I didn’t know people thought Warrior was a soft counter to Necro.. probably because of Berserk Stance but that’s really easy to out-kite haha. The only kind of warrior that poses a problem is a shout warrior though…

Before even watching i knew you’d have a warhorn with Spectral Walk and Wurm haha.

I am eager to try out a revamped condi necro build using the new scepter 3 trait, since its honestly fantastic sounding. I am also willing to try out the new lingering curses trait, but I’m wondering if weakness spam would be better to help survive, and the fact that lingering curses hardly helps us deal with cleansing.

Yeah even with the new scepter #3, I’m really not sure if Lingering Curse would be better than Weakening Shroud. Longer condis are strong, but Weakening Shroud gives really nice weakness and also a bleed so…
Although Krait Runes + Lingering Curse might be interesting…

I really like the idea of spiteful spirit on a condi build, although with reaper you’ll have to drop spite for reaper so you could keep dhuumfire, but lower CD AoE PoC makes this a non-issue imo. Alternatively you could run MoC to get lower CD corrupt boons and a lower CD heal, but I don’t know if that would really be worth it for the harsh self-cost.

Yeah I played Reaper a lil bit in the beta and went with Curses/SR/Reaper. I think Spite synergises REALLY well with Reaper but Curses does as well and just works better for a Condi build. I’d probably drop Soul Reaping but it’s just too good for life force
I’m also wondering how they’ll make Reaper Shroud #2 because last time I used Path of Corruption it was pretty easy to dodge (the Necro just spun around and the boon corrupt was kinda delayed – hopefully they fix that and make it corrupt as soon as you hit someone).

I honestly prefer carrion amulet, since some of our skills scale pretty well with power, and the extra vitality gives us more of a buffer against other conditions. To add to that, the passive bleed proc in curses is absurdly weak. Weakening shroud’s proc can be made up by way of intelligence sigil on the staff or just from fury in DS.

The only issue I have with high-vitality amulets is that sure, you have lots of health but once that health runs out… you’ll keep taking lots of damage and won’t really be able to heal up. With high toughness, you will always take less damage from attacks, no matter how low your hp is. I think both work… but with Krait Runes the on-crit bleeds can be decent.

Anyway, I’m thrilled to try it tomorrow! And I definitely think we can make it work without terror.

Haha same I can’t wait to see how it will turn out… I’m super stoked because Scepter #3 is naturally in my rotation to generate lifeforce and most of the time people have 5+ condis when I use it… which means really easy 7 torment. In some of the clips I re-watched, I use Feast of Corruption when the enemy is pretty low… this would seal their fate >: ) the extra torment + Path of Corruption might be quite strong… tomorrow…. we shall see… tun tun tunnnnnn

Hello all,

This is a video of condi Necro in sPvP. I’ve met several people who said it doesn’t work, which I found surprising because it actually got a buff since before “the big patch”. But I found it’s actually pretty good in sPvP. I think I’m pretty decent in sPvP but I’m still not an expert because I have a lot of WvW habits and am still not used to fighting on-point because WvW encourages a kite-and-fight-type playstyle. After re-watching a lot of my clips I realize I have quite a few bad habits like cancelling my own skills and wasting dodges, but all in all, even with a few bad habits, I feel like condi Necro can be really deadly and is underestimated.

I use Spite/Curses/Soul Reaping. Spite is generally good because it gives you lots of cover condis (like vuln and Spiteful Spirit, which cripples and corrupts a boon, which can be anything from a fear to confusion, to 3 bleeds if it corrupts Vigor). This really comes in handy when fighting cleanse-heavy classes like ele and shout warr or shout guard. As far as I’m aware, cleanse is random now, so if you stack lots of bleeds but lots of vuln, cripple, weakness, poison, their condi clears have a higher chance of removing irrelevant condis, like cripple, instead of your bleeds. I often take Path of Corruption instead of Terror as well. Fear duration is pretty minimal on Necro right now and while it does nice damage (good vs. thieves and mesmers), Path of Corruption is really good vs. boon heavy classes and cleanse-heavy classes. This might become even stronger with the new patch they’re making (buffing scepter, where terror may not even be necessary).

I think it needs to work in DS first. Even with 10% healing I don’t know how good it’d be in sPvP, but in WvW, if it worked in DS it would be pretty kitten awesome. If there’s no way to make it work in DS, then yes, by all means, they should buff it in some way. Healing you when you apply conditions, or healing you when enemies REMOVE your condis are a good start. I have a vid showing some nice healing from Parasitic Contagion in WvW. If it worked in DS it would be so much more powerful because really.. no Necro lingers in normal form for too long….

When you swap utilities, the minion dies, and when you are Moad, technically you “swap utilities” because you got no utilities as a Moa… so I guess it counts as if you swapped your utilities to something else and the minions die… but come on -_-

They mentioned that they did this because of some PvE transform issues (probably your guy transforms into something and they didn’t want you to be able to summon minions and then transform, and keep the minions). I’m not sure what’s causing so many issues to make minion-deaths not happen with just Moa tho (and I guess Plague and Lich, but those were fixed).

Do you play an Elementalist? Ok… do you use cantrips? Ok.. how many? 4. ok.
Now…. how would you feel if another class used an elite skill, and put every. single. one. of your cantrips on cooldown? Yes, this includes Armor of Earth, Lightning Flash, Mist Form, Ether Renewal and Cleansing Fire, and I guess Tornado. All of those would be put on a max cooldown – yes, your stunbreak and heal skill too. Feels good, right?

Do you play warrior? Oh, ok. Do you use shouts? Maybe stances? How would you feel if another class used an elite skill which puts every single shout you use on cooldown? Every single stance on cooldown? Your stun breaks? All of your cleanse?

Same with shout guardian – all shouts on a cooldown. No more stability, no more cleanse, say bye bye to every trait associated with your utilities.

Same with meditation guardian.

Well… that’s literally what Moa does to a MM Necro. There’s literally no argument that what it does is legitimate…. 3 years after the game came out.

And so, why not inflict bleeding instead of torment, indeed they do not like? because you know that torment automatically take advantage of their extra damage with fear, and with condition bleed you get bored, it is a rather dull condition. The difference with the Mesmer is that you can only maintain confusion and torment limited, but the enemy quickly cleaned (because is only two perma condition), however, the necro can cover perfectly x7 torment, and not only that, but it can take advantage and take better advantage torment with the fear condition, something that cant do mesmer, on the other hand, the necro be thoroughly cleaned conditions, or, return it to its enemies. Truth does not like to inflict x7 bleed?

why not inflict x7 bleed instead of torment? because with x7 torment I do double damage with fear, and with the condition bleed i dont many dps

With Necro right now, you can easily inflict over 10 bleeds. Grasping Dead —> Weakening Shroud --> Dark Path —> Swap weapons for Geomancy --> Mark of Blood. The problem is… a single condi clear removes everything. Every single bleed you stacked with however many skills gets removed. Pasting 7 more bleeds on top of that would be kind of useless. Even if you got to 17 bleeds, a single condi clear would just remove all of it. Torment is a really good condi to add to Feast of Corruption cuz Necro has barely any access to it, it’s a unique condi and can be used as a “cover condi”, and it’s a damaging condi. Think of the scenario earlier: you do 10 bleeds, and 7 torment on top of it. Here comes a condi clear, and removes the bleed… but you still have the Torment ticking. That’s not OP, it’s balanced. I don’t want random condi clears to completely shut down all damage I do, especially since condi Necros already rely so heavily on bleeds…

I repeat, these x7 torment is very op, it should be reduced 2-3 torment and gaining life force for each condition on them. It is like giving a chance mesmer to inflict taunt (in this case taunt not inflict dps, but if you forced to move and attack) an enemy with x12 torment and x8 confusion, would not be op? especially in pvp, then well imagine an enemy with 7x torment forced to move by condition fear and inflicts damage over (with other conditions), is very op.

To be fair, Mesmers already do this with confusion and torment. 5 stacks torment from block and 4 stacks from a shatter (9 total), then 10 confusion on top of that (5 from #3 scepter, and 5 from a shatter), or 15 confusion and 13 torment if they do 2 shatters instead of 1. The thing that makes THEM OP is their survivalbility, on top of the damage they put out. Necro doesn’t have the survivalbility of a PU condi Mesmer, but the damage will be similar (I think). So I think calling it overpowered now is way too early. Condi Necros needed another source of a bursty condi… which Feast of Corruption will be. This will be especially true after HoT comes out. Condi clears will be more than abundant.

Condi Necro right now is either really good, or really disappointing (in sPvP). When you face certain classes (like Engis and Warriors) you wreck them easily, but when you face things with lots of condi clears (fire-specced Eles, shout warriors, shout guardians), and when they have AoE cleanse, your damage drops A LOT. The only thing that Torment will change is this: You will wreck those who you usually wrecked, but faster (engis, warriors), and you will at least stand a better chance against all the classes that spam condi clears.

Corruptive Poison Cloud will be really nice now too, especially on Reaper… I managed to get 22 Poison stacks when using it on Reaper and spin-to-win. At least some good news after seeing Druid…

x12 torment… and inflict a fear with the trait “terror” (fear doing dps) = op, but then you add the reaper specialization, when you inflict fear, also inflict chill, but chill with the trait “deathly chill” doing dps (more dps with enemy 50% life o less) = more more op, and finally, you use epidemic and makes aoe.

OP is a bit of a stretch…

12x torment + terror + deathly chill (assuming 1800 condi damage)=

1900 torment ticks (while moving) + 720 terror ticks + ~700 chill ticks (below 50%)

= 3300 dps, over a max of 2s fear = 6600 damage that can be cleansed. It’s pretty good, but when the meta builds can burst you for 25k in 1.5 seconds I wouldn’t say it is OP by a long shot. If they stun break or have stab, or are imobed, or just not moving then that drops down to ~2300 dps or less, lower than some classes auto attacks.

Actually the damage from Terror is about 1164. Not too much of a difference, but net of 800 damage difference, which would bring the damage to about 7400 over the two second fear. That’s with only the torment, a chill and a fear. There will definitively be more condis on the person, and if they have vulnerability on top of that.. it could be really nice damage. I wouldn’t go so far as to call it overpowered, but it has the potential to be really strong. Only 10 vuln already brings the damage up to 8140 XD
Condi clears are another issue but… yeah…kittendruid.

And I also agree that Moa killing all minions is bullkitten. Even the engi moa kills Wurm lol. I’d love to have an elite skill which disabled another class’s blink/stun break for 32 secs
