Ok..ever tried speaking in English on French Server OP? give it a try and tell me the reactions you get. It is very natural for people to expect others to speak in English on general EU servers.
So after reading this whole thread, the consensus seems to be something 1/10 like Orr.
And 7/10 who had an opinion want more level 80 areas.
Granted, this is just the forums, and just a tiny survery.
But… I’m willing to bet that this means that since these are game design professionals, soon (10/1/12 maybe?) there will be several new 80+ zones released.
I hope so.
Because the one that’s here seems to be almost universally hated. So best case is “new surprise” content.
Worst case is, “we tuned what’s there to suck less.”
Meh. I’m not convinced about this game at all anymore, much less enthused or convinced that the developers want to deliver what the marketing hype promised.
I’ll wait. We’ll see.
Or a simpler solution. Try to make ORR more fun so that players don’t avoid it. I think devs should read this topic very thoroughly because there are same great ideas on how to attract more players to actually participate in ORR and not just complete the 100% map and never return.
Don’t listen to these people. If i payed too much attention to them i would never get my engineer to 80. I have died countless time and yet i am glad i did it.
Yeah the option to skip would be nice, help us out please. I really want to continue the story and get POI in Fort Trinity.
Bill Freist i replied to your pm sir.
I want to know should i just park my Engineer in the corner and stop playing because this quest is still broken even after the patch?
Because of this mission i am unable to get POI in Fort Trinity which is un lockable only through personal story. I am stuck on 99% for world map.
(So please, don’t pay the whingers and complainers too much attention. The game is great )
Probably the worst advice you can ever give to any game company. But sadly people with genuine complaints are also lumped into category of whiners.
Everything is all right game is just well..great!
Why are you accusing me for lying? lol
OP said it is a ghost town so i am assuming it is and helping him to find a more populated server.
I am on Far Shiverpeak and it is always full. I wait anywhere between 15 to 20 mins to get in and sometimes only 5 minutes.
Or take Gao Gao’s advice…. and end up in same situation.
I must ask though. What is better? playing on full or high sever and wait a bit longer to get in W v W or get in instantly and run around in empty W v W map?
Make up your own mind.
Just look at the top 3 servers and transfer when they are not full.
Very high mob density, on top of that hard to navigate terrain. I can even manage to deal with that if the repair costs and teleport costs were not that high.
Most of the times map is contested and players do not bother to take back the way points because they don’t want to waste silver due to high teleport costs and broken DE’s makes it hard too.
I am on server that is always full in evening. FAR SHIVERPEAKS.
And even on this server it is hard to get people together to do any events. No one wants to travel far because of high teleport costs and running by foot means by the time they reach the spot, event most probably would be over.
ORR seems rushed and very poorly thought out.
This is my experience from lvl 70 to 80 zones. Mob density needs to be toned down and reducing teleport costs will encourage players to join events more.

Ever saw this section called BUGS on these very forums? Obviously you have no idea what he is stalking about because ignorance is bliss.
Your trolling is bad, 0/10. There is no bug being reported here. As the title states, it is the State of the Game – BUGS!.
The only one’s worked up here are those that post things like “Relax” and calling someone “Chief”.
Please stick to the topic and keep the trolling out, you aren’t helping anyone with anything but you are bumping the thread. At least Anet may see it in time.
I think you quoted the wrong person here.
Relax… yes. It-s annoying the actual state of the game. But tonight we are receibing a big patch that we hope all these bugs get fixed.
People who tell others to relax amuse me, I think it makes them feel cool or something. No one is worked up, get over yourself.
From the dev lists tonight’s patch has nothing specifically detailed to deal with what I brought up.
Your thread title:
Deplorable state of the game – BUGS!That looks like you’re worked up chief, so that’s likely the reason you’re being told to relax. As far as early bugs go, I honestly have no idea what you’re talking about. I have a severe case of altoholism and have played the 1st 3 zones of every race dozens of times at this point and have yet to run into any bugged events, NPCs, hearts, nodes, anything. The first bugged event I came across was in some level 45 zone (don’t remember which), but the early zones, like level 30 and below, have all been fine for me and everyone I’ve played with.
Ever saw this section called BUGS on these very forums? Obviously you have no idea what he is stalking about because ignorance is bliss. Maybe all the topics on BUG sections about broken personal stories, DE’s, broken SP etc are also just figment of our imagination.
People in lvl 70 to 80 zones are already joking about to rename GW2 as Star ship troopers. Yeah it is that bad.
“People in lvl 70 to 80 zones”
He was referring to early leveling zones so your whole post is invalid. Please read and understand the OP and what I was responding to before you post.
And i am not talking about just lvl 80 zones. That was something i mentioned only in the end to give an idea that things don’t get any better once u hit 80.
Who knew people could argue about something so subjective for 6 pages. As if it is even possible to define what is fun for others.

The drop rate for badges right now is laughable. I had killed over a hundred players yesterday and I have a grand total of 17 badges of honor. I know this because I just started playing WvW yesterday and that is the kill total I have. What is with that? Is it bugged? Or is getting any type of exotic armor in game supposed to be so frustrating that you buy gems and action house the crap?
According to manifesto video. Anet has taken out the grind. And since Anet is never wrong…most probably you are lying?
/chuckles
“Why they should worry in 2 days and not in the first of the next month , where a major mmo lanuch his x-pack (rift) ?”
made me Lol
Rift has the highest number of players for P2P category second to WOW. I don’t know what you are loling about. While games like SWTOR failed to keep their player base and is going F2P. Rift is still going strong.
Why they should worry in 2 days and not in the first of the next month , where a major mmo lanuch his x-pack (rift) ?
Not just Rift, there is so much good stuff coming out. I love playing GW2 but i am 80 and i want to enjoy DE’s in ORR but in its current state not happening.
How about make the existing content work first? ORR is a bug fest. Let them fix what is broken first.
Sigh….when will people stop trying to define FUN for others? fun is something very SUBJECTIVE. What is fun for you might not be the same for others.
Most of the posts here smell like ‘If you are not playing my way, you are not having fun’. And yes it stinks.
I am certainly not doing that. I just think this game was made for a different audience than most Warcraft-like MMO’s, and to me, it is very refreshing. I consider Rift to be a fantastic MMO, but the style just didn’t fit with me. In fact, I am very excited to find an MMO that actually does cater to someone like me. EUREKA!
I just want ANet to know there are those who really appreciate their philosophy and their game.. (HINT- don’t change it!)
This MMO is not some niche title where you can claim it was made for certain audience or different kind of audience. Now if you talk about games like EVE Online i would understand. your above statement.
GW2 was made for masses. That is not some speculation it is a fact stated by Mike O Brian himself. He clearly said that he wants to beat WOW and become number one in sales.
Are you telling me he can beat WOW by catering to different kind of players? when you go for mass appeal you want everyone to play your MMO. Different or not.
Just compare GW2 to GW1 and see how simplistic it is in so many ways.
But the point remains. GW2 is about rewards, the game design speaks for itself. If it wasn’t, Anet wouldn’t even care giving you reward for 100% map completion (just an example).
They could have simple flashed a message on your screen in bold letters ‘you reward is FUN’.
Sigh….when will people stop trying to define FUN for others? fun is something very SUBJECTIVE. What is fun for you might not be the same for others.
Most of the posts here smell like ‘If you are not playing my way, you are not having fun’. And yes it stinks.
Anet rewards you for almost everything with loot. Items and gear drop everywhere like someone busted open a pinata. So yes it is Anet encouraging players to go for rewards and that is how MMOS work.
The whole OP is misleading at its best.
It’s modern day culture partially.
Cosmetic materialism dictates the lives of many. Without this dopamine rush many feel unmotivated and saddened by their experience.
“Fun” just doesn’t cut it for some people. They’ve lost touch with that side of their young life with regards to gaming. You can blame certain games for this and the way society is as a whole with regards to how people feel.
Can you be any more obnoxious? this is a freaking video game..a business run by Anet to maximize profit and you don’t sell millions of boxes till you reward your player base in material value. Every MMO needs an incentive, a hook for the players. It is a MMORPG…which has always been about character progressions, acquiring shiny items and loot. You make it sound as if this is some new concept.
And who are you any ways to define how people enjoy their games?
(edited by Mickey.4207)
Hit 80 the first week? No wonder your bored, play any game too much and that will happen. If someone plays that much anet could never put out content fast enough. People would just burn through it and say i’m bored, lmao. Sorry i just think its funny that some are already bored after a week or month of playing a newly released game.
erm, i dont want to be mean but you need some reading comprehesion, i never said i was bored i was just addressing some things that i think could be fixed for a better enjoyment of the game.
plz next time when you reply to a thread dont extract 1 sentence of the post and work around it.
@Pyska, totally true atm im trying to lvl up my ele lvl 7 =3
He didn’t bother to read you entire post. He was getting too eager to flame you.
So because they resemble one type of quest in another MMO, means they are instantly just like every quest in another MMO? Like I said before. Questing in another MMO IS your source of experience when it comes to leveling. Renown Hearts in GW2, are NOT your source of experience when it comes to leveling. They serve different purposes.
In GW2, Renown Hearts are there to lead you to events happening in the world. They don’t provide you with sufficient experience to be considered viable for leveling off. Unlike questing in other MMOs that your main source of experience is from questing.
I’m sorry but… your argument is that Renown Hearts aren’t quests because they reward negligible experience.
They’re functionally almost identical to quests in any other MMO, ASIDE from the lack of experience. They have you pursuing the same game play. AT BEST… they’ve managed to roll up courier and grind quests into a single, neat, little package.
You’re making a really weak case for the difference between Renown Hearts and quests right now. I hope you know that ;P
lol not really a weak argument, it is just you aren’t seeing the big picture and only looking down through a scope of what you want it to be and not what it is.
Sure they have similar objectives. You collect a bunch of quests in a quest hub, and go kill 10 of this and go collect 10 of this. Then turn them in for your xp. You go to the area of a Heart and kill 10 of this and collect 10 of this. Then you get rewarded some xp.
But what you seem to be missing is, Hearts are not your main source of progression. In other MMOs, quests are your main source of progression. In order to get the best xp while leveling, you have to do quests to progress. In GW2, Hearts are not your main source of progression. In order to get the best xp while leveling, you can’t rely on Hearts to progress. They are not your source of experience like in other MMOs.
If anything is comparable to quests in other MMOs, it is Dynamic Events, not Renown Hearts. I’ll agree that Dynamic Events are similar to traditional questing, just they are more interactive and a lot more funner than reading quest text. But that doesn’t change the fact that they are still like traditional questing because they are your main source of progression.
DE main source of XP? good in theory but not the same in practical situation. The events don’t trigger that often and vary so much from zone to zone.
For example every time i go to Norn areas, if there were no hearts i wouldn’t be able to level up. Thanks to scarce events. Now Charr zones are different stories. Too much going on but hard to get enough players to complete DE’s. Yes few can be soloed but majority of times you will get yourkitten handed to you. Players are so spread out that most of the times response is ‘meh..too far not gonna run there’. Fair enough. No they won’t teleport too because rewards are not worth it and money comes slow at low and mid levels.
So nope i wouldn’t call DE main source of experience considering how many are bugged and also due to the reasons above. The situation is even worse in ORR. I was expecting to find a lot of action but so many bugged out DE’s and few that are working, on my server we struggle to get enough players together. And my server is always HIGH.
So what i did? got last 5 levels doing PVP, that is how frustrating it gets when you try to make ’DE’s’ as main source of experince.
May i ask OP what builds? GW had builds. Ever did PVP in GW?
GW2 is so watered down in skills i don’t think it is even appropriate to use the word BUILD for GW2. So i do PVP in GW and stick to GW2 for PVE. Even that is getting monotonous now thanks to limited amount of skills.
They already posted about it on twitter. Yes there was a roll back and no they can’t do anything about it.
Why people keep telling OP to go back to WOW? did he say he wants to go back to WOW or that he is from WOW? this is a cliche used by people to down play other people opinion. Not clever really.
You calling me a troll? do you know what irony means? good job i guess, you successfully derailed this topic. Now you will jump to next topic to flame those who have complaints. Rinse and repeat.
Much like you are perpetuating? If you weren’t trying to troll, you wouldn’t be engaging me in my accused trolling. you would be continuing with the thread discussion.
Nope, instead you point out pointless and irrelevant points, derailing the thread and then trying to make it look like I did it. I am sad for you.
We were discussing the issue till you brought your high and mighty behind in here and starting flaming OP by being condescending and obnoxious.
Learn to see past your own nose maybe you will realise you are really not all that. Now shoo away and stop wasting more of this thread.
This topic is about OP and his problems not about how awesome you are and how much your priorities are in order.
Oh wait you already did that…
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/game/gw2/Rollbacks/first#post213549
You calling me a troll? do you know what irony means? good job i guess, you successfully derailed this topic. Now you will jump to next topic to flame those who have complaints. Rinse and repeat.
What the hell are you talking about bro? i really hate fanboys like you. All you do is derail topic with your dribble.
People aren’t generally complaining to alert developers, they are complaining to have their 30 minutes recovered. Don’t give people that much credit please.
Either way, they are both legitimate reasons to speak up. If you personally don’t care, then why are you even posting in this thread, other than to tell people to stop posting in this thread?
To supply my opinion in a discussion thread. Feedback is fine, but expecting your 30 minutes back is as you well know, silly.
I am as much entitled to my opinion here as you are. be respectful enough to understand that please.
Respect begets respect. Your first post wasn’t respectful to begin with.
Sorry guys, 30 mins is nothing. This really is a first world problem of epic proportions. Deal with it, move on, complaining isn’t going to fix it. Bugs happens, roll with it.
Also it happened a number of times in XIV, people lost 10-15 levels of crafting every day for 4 days due to a patching error. My armorsmithing suffered every time, so please don’t rose tint an issue.
Also Aion had massive character corruption causing loss of entire characters to some players.
OP shared his experience which is 30 minutes but there are other players who are reporting up to 5 to 6 hours of progression lost.
You want to find out? check twitter..yes..yes..twitter!!
Guess i will have to make a twitter account after all.
(edited by Mickey.4207)
Yeah Anet love Twitter a bit too much i think. lol
Reached Orr yesterday. Lvl 75 and lost will to level to 80 from PVE due to the reasons OP mentioned.
This is not cool. Any official word about this?
Good for you Roesia but i have tried this method 4 times and every time once i kill abomination and get ready to move two bugs appear..every single time. So i am only getting 2 grubs at beginning of cave.
Players shouldn’t have to go through all these hoops to complete one mission.
I will check back later and see if we get any updates.
I give up. I think i like to punish myself so i tried this 4 times. I even pulled the abomination away from researchers bu they ran back anyways. Eveytime i try to walk slowly two grubs pop up resetting the researches again.
I don’t think i want to repeat this mission any time sooner. I had enough for today. Very lousy if you ask me that players can not progress through personal story.
Am i the only one who read OP before hitting reply button? he said he wants to ‘talk’ about content patches means he simply needs more communication. That is somehow getting translated to ‘i want it now’ by fans.
Joe where did i say anything about few weeks from release? did i? i am simply stating that players excitement and expectation goes high once company starts promising a lot of content updates.
So yes players would expect more content.
Also OP said it is time to start ‘talking’ about content updates. He said no where he wants it now. You people just don’t even read and start bashing the poor guy.
And you wonder why the mmo crowd’s appetite is never sated. Here is the craziness folks, for all to see.
Umm actually it is Anet itself who has been promising loads of free content updates. So obviously players are going to expect more.
I really doubt complaints of players can bring their moral down. This is not their first rodeo
There are bugs and this is part of a MMO release, but Anet are fixing them on a regular basis.
You’re not paying a sub either so honestly, there isn’t a serious complaint here.
Are you telling us that people are only allowed to complain if they are paying monthly sub? not that i am in favor of complaining.
You make it sound as if customers are of less importance to Anet because GW2 is B2P. I am sure Anet wants to keep players happy and want them to spend money on cash shop as well as buy future expansions.
So i am sure that Anet doesn’t think like you and value opinions of its customers.
And who is the special snow flake who keeps giving +1 to stupidity like this?
I think I must be awesome at avoiding all the “bugs” people keep complaining about. Because I haven’t seen but one in 40 levels, and it’s fixed.
Yes you are awesome. I on other hand come across 2 to 3 broken events, bugged skill challenges on daily basis. Not all of us can be as awesome as you.
did you get “rewards” in ultima online?
no.
you got FAMOUS for being the best player.
try D3…
that blizzard loot concept is about to die.
this is GW2 manifesto.and you should understand it, your life will feel better, more free, after that.
You can’t be serious.
GW2 gives you reward and loot for just everything. Blue and greens drop like someone burst up a pinata. Are we playing the same game here?
GW2 is about loot as much as any other MMO.. but you telling others the opposite to make yourself fee better.
These issues don’t seem to happen with other games. I beta tested and played SWTOR and never had the kind of problems i have had with this game. 6 years of development and this is what we get……
isn’t that more because nobody wanted to use it? since it was really really bad? SWTOR did not have this very specific problem true, but it had a lot of other problems unique to it.
Warhammer Online had their auction house daily crash for several months before they made it functional. It was 2 orders of magnitudes simpler to code than this one.
There we go again…it happened in X game so it is all right if it happens in GW2 too.
I am not saying that stuff doesn’t break in MMOS but these excuses are lame.
Lumiere your point is? you think an average customer cares? you think when people are unhappy with a product they care for all the complexities behind it?
Also WOW was 8 years ago..stop using that excuse.
