Hotel lobby is actually better because it removes the crowd and the smell and you know that everyone there is there for you. And it might also be cheaper.

Devs don’t need to respond they need a community lead who’s job it is to talk to the players and engage them. They will focus on the positives, when it got silent the forums turned awful. Arenajunkies is less toxic…
China gw2 is taking up a lot of time, that’s not bad. But think of all the new tickets and bugs they have in that client build. We are beta testers for the biggest economy in the world. I bet google translate is Anets best friend right now.
Lopez, it took them about a year and a half to get halfway decent descriptions on the traits in the game. Don’t hold your breath.
On a serious note, clearly they have much of the development team working on the living story over anything else in the game. Maybe this is the problem with the concept of a “living story”. It slows down production on the rest of a game.
From what I’ve heard from ArenaNet and people who worked with them, they have about 150-200 people on Living Story and a similar amount on everything else. It seems more like they just don’t have any internal reviews, so people just play video games and get no work done throughout the day.
No way in hell do they have 150 people in the whole studio.
If they do the amount of slacking must be truly staggering and that’s at minimum a 1M funding in salary each month.
I think the work environment they made has some fault to how this game has turned out. Go look at the studios page it’s a day care for adults who love dragons more then we the community do.
Anet does a better job at policing players out side of the game on the forums, sad.
I do enjoy watching this game self destruct by the hands of its makers than community, epic.
Is Anet letting ego get in the way? Do they think they “Lose” if they remove it now. It’s been going on for so long now. When did this company turn to being a human with feelings. You can go to the forums and get a feel for what kinda mode this company is in. #rookies
It would be so much easier for them to just automatically disable comments on threads older than 30 days than to bother to ask the community to change their behavior.
I could be wrong, but if they dont want us necroing old threads, just dont allow it. I think they’re leaving a bait-and-switch for people so they can suspend/infract more.
This is how to fix the problem, how Anet is handling it is rookie. Also that coding to enable that is cake. This is not the first time a forum has had old posts bumped thats why there is a term “necroing”. Anet faulting the community when they should be looking in the mirror. They continue to fail one of the most basic child rules used in Boy/Girl scouts “be preparid”.
I still think the community should move to reddit and remove Anet from controlling our posting. Will also have more eyes then just the players. Also why does Anet not feel like a business company but instead a human with feelings? They so sensitive!

trying to do map completion in WvW is the stupidest thing it should be removed so you can get the achievement and gifts because waiting for a certain keep or other things is beyond a joke.
I had everything for my legendary dreamer but map completion done. The lover was waiting for close to a year to be changed into a majestic unicorn shooting bow. Only the pve maps I needed. It was torture to engage in pve it took double the time as everything else. But the wvw map completion that was pretty much the first thing I did at lvl 80, you’re playing this game wrong PERIOD

This thread is solid, I like that more d/d players are speaking out. When facing condi I like SA or ACRO. It can be used fine in spvp when conditions are met “that pre-game start time sure comes in handy brah”. Some people enjoy sticking with the majority and group “meta players”. They fear change and you can see that in some posts. Humans like comfort and routine and switching up specs and weapons goes against that.

this combo with shadow strike can yield 12-16k dmg in 2 sec while your enemy has hard time to dodge/evade as you use shadow step abilities
also with 55-85% dmg modifier and in wvw food and buff you will have 2.95k-3.2k power you will do insane dmg from range
i use muhammad ali speech as the word “fast” suitable to this combo

I liked when people thought d/d was super easy and would join my stream to tell me. Such rookies, do what you want don’t let others limit you. Gw2 is so simple so easy.
Movement : A / D keys strafe unbinded from Q and E. W/S forward and backpeddle.
Key Binds : Steal is E , Health is Q , Z X C control skills , Shift + Space bar is my Elite skill
Also for my alts that uses auras fields and such shift+ 1-4
Universal keybinds that work on all gw2 professions and in all videogames and also fps games the more time you spend using the same keys the more muscle memory you build. I’ve used these keybinds since vanilla wow. Most of the keys used are default in many games only for none important stuff like sitting or pulling out a weapon. Using space bar and shift is one of the most amazing binds ever you never miss!
Edit : I’m not a fan of mmo mice. Not saying I am or that’s what a player should be. But no top player in any current videogame use a mmo mice and that’s fact. #esports

If I were to compare gw2 to a real sport, I would say it is like american football. It is complex, but still possible , but that complexity will also just limit its audience. A sport with less complex rules like soccer is more universal and can reach more people than football ever will.
And yes I know Im simplifying it but I think my point still reaches through :P
For sports id compare it to track / swimming. Where everybodies score is tallied at the end for a team winner. You can even say marching band as well on holding formations in a team / group everybody has different instruments too.
American football is not complex the world just does not enjoy it. Half the game is commericals of the sponsors / beer companies. In soccer they run ads on screens around the field. The first time American football was played in the uk they tossed boo’s when Tom Brady took a knee before half time and ran off the field. Rugby is more embraced then American football it’s because men and women respect the highest level of performance and competetive play.

Gw2 is not a challenge for teams or truly competitive players like other games offer.
I think it would be one of the most basic events to run they pretty much have a big brother to help with twitch. But I get what you’re saying “is it worth the time effort and money” and can this be used in better ways.
I’d do in house lans at Anets office fly in players use that room they have for there own stream. Give top players a chance to enjoy the office and meet the creators. Gamescon is a drunken mess. Some top teams don’t go for this reason.
The tournament isn’t a bad thing. I’m just curious as to why right now? I understand that developmental and marketing would be two completely different departments. None the less, resources are being expended to showcase Guild Wars 2 at Gamescon, when they could be spent in more pressing aspects of the game.
I’m assuming the developers and marketing all pull from the same pot of money.

But really it’s at the twitch booth Anet does not really have to do much. Twitch will do the setup of the computers. With gw2 having no local support the players just log into eu servers. So doubt it’s much work and at gamescon the less work and more drink you can do the better. That’s the vibe at gamescon it’s pretty party mode. Community just has to hope Anet gets inspired by the games on the real stages and not booths. Anything at a booth is side show.
OP does not bring up Zerg busting guilds and I doubt he has or will be in one. Most players are the same. Top of the game is to bust map blobs and end those people’s karma train. Settling for what the majority is doing = casual

Any update on this bug, happens everytime I play this game. When I engage in a fight I just hope it does not trigger. It adds that level of RNG only found in pve! Fix the game it would make it fun to play
Someone dug up a thread with a dev response that said they are trying to pin it down. That was a year ago hahaha.
This seems like a top priority bug and it clearly has not been. This should be at the top and if it’s a hard fix that involves time it should’ve been invested in way before this point.

more specific??? When i have to type /dance in order to re-gain control of my character or else its just stuck in place. Happens to thieves and eles who trigger evade/dodge/blink same time as immobilization goes off. Its been around for ever and they even tried to patch it awhile ago, still broken.

voice communication is essential for about any kind of pvp. nobody has the time to write down sudden changes in tactics or player delegation. i’m sorry for you being deaf but you’re just not competitive. it might not impair your gameplay performance but it impairs team communication. what if the situation requires something that you haven’t yet crypted into a number? someone will have to write it down. how do you count down if you want to spike someone? you can’t. either one person will be standing still which means their death or you will probably miss the spike. this isn’t ignorance, this is simply reducing any possibility to lose by minimizing inconvenience.
i might not be the most considerate person, but instead of memorizing a whole alphabet of your number- or letter-code i would just kick you from the group. much easier and a lot of work less. when competing against others i personally wouldn’t care a bit about whoever has whatever limitation. before starting a match the only thing i care about is the highest possible chance to win. period.
This is a wall of text with a lot of “if” you assume a lot as well. Now watch this video with local SoCal LAN player who has no limbs. He plays cs go a game that is a “esport” and competitive. There is no esport in gw2 only online tourneys. gw2 has not support for LAN so it won’t ever be anything close to the word “sport”. I was apart of a LAN counter strike 1.6 team with a deaf fellow. He had amazing headphones. They had such bass he could feel the vibrations from the game “rounds being fired”. I put them on once and heard ringing in my ears like a firework blew up next to my head. This dude taught me a lesson in life, don’t ever hold some one back if you can push them forward. He pushed me forward and showed how to be a ninja. I started to play with in game sound off “music playing” while practing, in a match I’d turn sound on. My reaction times got a lot faster and now I have to play music while I game always.
