Word is a couple of guilds on SoR aren’t too happy about TW’s transfer shenanigans. It isn’t helping the fact that some of those players already felt a little swindled by a false promise of good fights during the guild’s prime time.
Hopefully TW’s obsession with BG doesn’t destroy that #1 NA community. eek.

I’ve seen plenty of TW corpses this weekend so I have no idea what y’all are talking about. TW didn’t seem any different from the other zergs running around. It’s funny watching SoS and TC sticking out the match with outmanned on several maps during many times of the day but TW doesn’t think the match is worth their time (I don’t think any of the servers are happy with this match, I certainly don’t think SoR is in the worst position).
Tier one egos are so huge they won’t let guilds drop down a tier for even one or two weeks. Leaving the top tiers was the best thing to ever happen to SoS. Being back up here (for the dumbest reasons, Devon) sucks, but I don’t know what’s worse, the laggy zerg meta that removes so much depth and individual contribution from WvW or the egos of the players.
Since arenanet didn’t communicate that tiers don’t exist anymore. People will feel like this poster. Look for the official match up thread with the servers in tiers. Guess what they will never post that again. What we do have is the official leaderboard. Go to www.guildwars2.com click community tab and look at the wvw leaderboard.

They need to play on tc and SOS. Last night streaming a dev named captin culling was standing with a troll group that I was apart of. Just killing tc running out from garrison. I do give him credit for not flanking with us and killing 30 tc looking the wrong way, super classy.
The concept of tiers has little meaning at this point and you should try to stop thinking of matchups in those terms. Servers are matched up by proximity of rating, not proximity of “tier”. If the tiers have ratings that are within the range of the random adjustment, they can end up fighting each other. This is going to result in blowouts, no doubt about it. However, we are not going to make changes to this after just 2 weeks of the system. There are things we can do. We will almost certainly end up adjusting the total added to each server rating to group the matchups a little more closely. First however, we need to let the ratings adjust by having more varied matchups like these. If you look at EU, which is using the exact same system, you can see matchups with numerous surprising results. The same will likely be true by the end of the NA matchup.
TL;DR: We are going to wait at least a couple more weeks before changing any of the math behind the new system, but it is very likely we’ll decrease the size of the variation at some point.
The math being used is awful. I’ve seen people post above this Devs response. 1 up 1 down. That’s all that’s needed to make matches fun and exciting. Why make a math problem that equals RNG. It’s neat Anet is trying to make more servers populated but it will total 6 and the others will be ghost towns. Once this system is in place 6 servers will always be doing a RNG shuffle. Bet they are really hoping servers like SOR JQ and bg guilds will spread out.
I really hope this change they are doing is for the players and not more gems / money from transfers. Right now it looks like its for the money.

I don’t have any friends that play this game in hopes of it being at a LAN event. The term esports it tossed around and it’s pretty much a joke term now. LoL is the only game being played on LAN around the world for prizes that pay you for the time needed to win at that level. Everything else is mlg / gb esport online heros. This game is for fun go play league if you want to see a LAN event game.
If red guard came to NA they would love it. They would be streaming a lot more and get more attention (that’s why he posted). I’d like to see them on JQ.
Oh and about gvg and blobs I’m down to fight the most random fights. Staged fighting makes me feel like a show pony. I’m a stallion running in the wild open plains and plateaus.
Edit: best gvg I’ve been in SF / tsym party on Zerg island turned in to a rumble when the kegs despawned. This was many moons ago but still the best.
I went thief to kill other thiefs. Asserting dominance in my tier as the one not to target unless you like to die was my goal. It’s finished and now I just run around with my panda hat and act like the greased up deaf guy.
S/d has a crazy port with big distance, look for the debuff on this thief. You can also extend ports by stealing with out target. That thief is not made for dmg pure troll. Good luck with him and I wish I could kill him.
2v1 is part of the game. I start 2v1 on BG in eternal every night. I don’t actually know any JQ, nor do I communicate with them. Starting a 2v1 is easy, to stop it, you need enough people to push 1 side off your lands and hold them off. They will do the rest.

Doesn’t surprise me that tsym would take the easy way out considering since you took the easy way out on SoR and became just another zergball guild. I miss the old tysm from SoS who actually ran around by themselves and had good fights and didn’t just join the full map zergballs.

Or make tiers 6 servers instead of 3 that would’ve been really easy. With the loser of the 6 moving down always and the winner of the lower tier always coming up. But what we get , RNG and some awful math

Funny, noone called tsym bandwagoners when they first moved to SoR.. in fact, many gave them props for not following every other SoS guild to BG, and not choosing the server with the highest chance of winning. Now that SoR is winning it’s a totally different story. LOL

Tsym moved to SOR to kill everyone from SOS who bandwagoned off and called them bad words and blamed them for SOS falling apart. I don’t find that to be bandwagoning. At least, that was my impression of why they moved =3
Idunno. We pushed JQ hard in NA prime in EB. I handed red keep to BG on a silver platter. They pulled off. I pushed BG for hours b/c I was mad. The nature of the game I guess.

Also, for the BG, how many ACs were in the EB keep before I trebbed 6 of them down? I counted 13. You know, before you guys lost everything in every BL and pushed us out of EB?

i use 30/25/0/0/15 with knights armor divinity runes and Valkyrie trinkets with sigil of Bloodlust on bow. It’s crazy to me that people trait for toughness instead of wearing it. I trait for damage and let my armor save me. Most characters have no balance they’re all ADD tunnel vision on one stat.
Read: The book of five rings , it will make you better at life. Focus on the book of the void.
Also this is a video game, positioning is everything. It’s easy to tell when you’re in a bad spot. Youre taking damage or dead.. I no longer make YouTube highlight videos they dont show enough struggle to capture the start and end of fights.
Only thing I miss about lower tiers is stomping over pre arranged fights. I roam with ease in t1. So when I’ve been in lower tiers its a cake walk. People like to talk / type out play by play about the small scale fights they get into. Do they ever talk about surviving a Zerg chasing them? Surviving is just as rewarding as fighting. If its not you should really go harder in wvw. Don’t waypoint out
Stop with the play by play chest thumping nobody cares how you fight. Make a YouTube video not a forum post.
Also to the OP, no. Backstab should and will for ever keep thieves in stealth when missing. Just trying to read your logic made me question your keybinds and everything in your small bubble. Are the walls around you soft and do you have a nurse checking on you every 15 mins

I have no issue with a trap that stops stealth it’s just like any other red circle on the ground. You walk around it! Every tweak made to our profession you have a bunch of players that go postal. Welcome to a bit of the real world it’s so harsh, hahahahaha
If you stop attacking when a thief stealths shame on you. If you’ve never down / killed one in stealth I don’t think youre playing the same game as me.

Oh and I’d like to add I don’t pve or else I’d play WoW. When I do run a dungeon (only new ones) I don’t respec or change gear. I just equip pistols instead of daggers and run out of red circles. The AI in this game is so easy to defeat no idea how people fail in pve or say its not fun. What’s the bar for fun anyway? When you get loot?

They just move to the map my guild was not on. Or stack one BL so much we end up fighting the whole server. Lower tiers say they don’t want to be t1 yet they play the ppt more hard up then any t1 server.
Bottom line t1 or bust, I’m on SOR now and it’s the best fighting I’ve seen yet.

That was t3 and dragonbrand especially. It’s a hell of a lot better now. CD and SBI aren’t cowards, and keep coming and trying new tactics even if they wipe.
To make a e-sport you have to aim at LoL. When the new mmo drops from that franchise with all the money you will see they have LoL in sight. This franchise already tossed in the towel on arena and rated bg.
But it wouldnt hurt A-net to hold a online qualifier tourney. Then have the top teams play on LAN at a-net HQ and make a media circus out of it. If that can’t be done what is the point?
Individual glory vs group, it’s funny to see people post about self glory. It’s a game nobody cares about your name or bravado. You might find people who respect you for what you can do to them. That’s called dominance.
